We have investigated the properties of three-dimensional electrostatic ion solitary structures in highly dense collisional plasma composed of ultra-relativistically degenerate electrons and non-relativistic degenerate ions. In the limit of low ion-neutral collision rate, we have derived a damped Kadomtsev–Petviashvili(KP) equation using perturbation analysis. Supplemented by vanishing boundary conditions, the time varying solution of damped KP equation leads to a weakly dissipative compressive soliton. The real frequency behavior and linear damping of solitary pulse due to ion-neutral collisions is discussed. In the presence of weak transverse perturbations, soliton evolution with damping parameter and plasma density is delineated pointing out the extent of propagation using typical parameters of dense plasma in the interior of white dwarfs. 相似文献

Information storage technology based on anisotropic ferromagnets with sufficiently high magneto-optical effects has received much attention in recent years.Magneto-optical recording combines the merits of magnetic and optical techniques.We investigate the magneto-optical effects on a biquadratic ferromagnet and show that the dynamics of the system are governed by a perturbed nonlinear Schro¨dinger equation.The evolutions of amplitude and velocity of the soliton are found to be time independent,thereby admitting the lossless propagation of the electromagnetic soliton in the medium,which may have potential applications in soliton based optical communication systems.We also exploit the role of perturbation,which has a significant impact on the propagation of an electromagnetic soliton. 相似文献

We solve the generalized nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation
describing the propagation of femtosecond pulses in a nonlinear
optical fibre with higher-order dispersions by using the direct
approach to perturbation for bright solitons, and discuss the
combined effects of the third- and fourth-order dispersions on
velocity, temporal intensity distribution and peak intensity of
femtosecond pulses. It is noticeable that the combined effects of the
third- and fourth-order dispersions on an initial propagated soliton
can partially compensate each other, which seems to be significant

We address the impact of imprinted fading optical lattices on the beam evolution of solitons in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media. The results show that the width of the soliton experiences a change with the increasing propagation distance, the critical power for the soliton varies with the lattice fading away, and the soliton breathing is affected by the initial lattice depth and the nonlocality degree. 相似文献

We solve the nonlinear Schrodinger equation with higher order terms, which describes the propagation of femtosecond pulses in optical fibres, by means of a direct perturbation method for dark solitons. An exact dark-soliton solution of the higher order nonlinear Schroedinger equation is found, provided that parameters satisfy certain conditions. The soliton's velocity with the high order effects as well as the formula for calculation of the first-order correction representing the perturbation-induced radiative field is presented. 相似文献

The perturbation of a confining trap leads to the collective oscillation of a Bose--Einstein condensate, thereby the propagation of a dark soliton in the condensate is affected. In this study, periodic perturbation is employed to match the soliton oscillation. We find that the soliton dynamics depends sensitively on the coupling between the moving direction of the trap and that of the soliton. The soliton energy/depth evolves periodically, and a relevant shift in the soliton trajectory occurs as compared with the unperturbed case. Overall, the soliton oscillation frequency changes little even if the perturbation amplitude and frequency vary. 相似文献

Using the direct soliton perturbation theory, we investigate the evolution of soliton parameters and the firstorder correction of bright soliton in a system with linear and nonlinear gain (or loss) and spectral filtering in a comprehensive way. The results obtained by means of our analytic method are consistent with numerical simulations. It is also found that the stable soliton propagation which has been investigated in a previous report by others is the limit case of our results. 相似文献

In this paper, to construct exact solution of nonlinear partial differential equation, an easy-to-use approach is proposed. By means of the transformation of the independent variables and the travelling wave transformation, the partial differential equation is reduced to an ordinary differential equation. To solve the ordinary differential equation, we assume the soliton solution in the explicit expression and obtain the travelling wave solution. By the transformation back to the original independent variables, the soliton solution of the original partial differential equation is derived. We investigate the short wave model for the Camassa-Holm equation and the Degasperis-Procesi equation respectively. One-cusp soliton solution of the Camassa-Flolm equation is obtained. One-loop soliton solution of the Degasperis- Procesi equation is also obtained, the approximation of which in a closed form can be obtained firstly by the Adomian decomposition method. The obtained results in a parametric form coincide perfectly with those given in the present reference. This illustrates the efficiency and reliability of our approach. 相似文献

We analyze the dynamics of a bright soliton in atomic scattering length in an expulsive parabolic potential. Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with time-dependent Under a safe ravage of parameters in which the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation is effective in one dimension, our results show that, the dynamics of the bright soliton can be classed into two phases, depending on the value of the scattering length. Meanwhile, there exists a critical value of the absolute value of the atomic scattering length, below which, the dynamics of the bright soliton is very regular. Those phenomena can be useful for developing concrete applications of the nonlinear matter waves. We also obtain the orbital equation of the bright soliton and get some interesting data which may be useful for the experimental observation of the bright soliton and the application of the atom laser with manipulated intensity. 相似文献

We study the formation of a dynamically-stabilized dissipation-managed bright soliton in a quasi-onedimensional Bose-Einstein condensate by including an imaginary three-body recombination loss term and an imaginary linear feeding one in the Gross Pitaevskii equation, trapped in a shallow optical-lattice potential. Based on the direct approach of perturbation theory for the nonlinear Schroedinger equation, we demonstrate that the height (as well as width) of bright soliton may have little change through selecting experimental parameters. 相似文献

We prove that the nonlocality is a source of the internal mode generation in a bright soliton of the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation, at least in the weak nonlocality limit. The internal mode bifurcates from the edge of the continuous spectrum of the linearized eigenvalue problem into the gap of this spectrum. A dependence of the internal mode propagation constant position in the gap on the nonlocality rate is established. It is shown that the vibration amplitude of the soliton decays inversely proportional to the propagation distance, as in the local models. 相似文献

光折变非线性介质在外加直流电压时会引起介质内部电荷移动,而移动后的电荷又会导致空间电荷的扩散效应,从而产生非局域非线性现象。从理论上研究了具有流动和扩散非局域非线性的光折变晶体中所支持的空间光学孤子的传播行为。应用等效粒子近似方法分析了这类介质中(1 1)维空间光学孤子动力学行为,得出孤子运动"加速度"显式解。孤子的有效"加速度"决定于孤子参量和光折变非局域参量。所得的解析结果可在一定参量范围内直接用来计算孤子的传播轨迹。对孤子在光折变非局域非线性作用下的传播动力学行为做了仿真模拟,数值模拟结果与理论分析结论符合得很好。 相似文献

从非局域非线性薛定谔方程出发,采用分步傅里叶算法数值讨论了在一定的非局域程度条件下,(1+2)维空间光孤子的传输特性, 数值求解了光孤子各特性参量。假定非局域克尔介质的响应函数为高斯型,得出了在一定的非局域程度条件下空间光孤子的数值解,并数值证明了它们的稳定性。结果表明:(1+2)维光孤子对非局域程度依赖性很强。在一定的非局域程度下,光束能以光孤子态在非局域克尔介质中稳定传输。强非局域时,光孤子的波形是高斯型,其它的非局域程度下,不是高斯型。当非局域程度较弱时,不存在孤子解。 相似文献

We studied the optical solitons in nonlinear resonant and nonresonant media in the presence of perturbations, assuming that the transient effects are stimulated by the light scanning beam. We treated a slight deviation from the exact necessary condition for the soliton existence (2betanu=1), as a small perturbation for the integrable system, studying its influence upon the soliton propagation conditions. The approximation is constructed by the help of an algebraic version of the soliton perturbation theory using a Riemann boundary problem in connection with the inverse scattering method. We have obtained the soliton equation and we have solved it in the presence of a small perturbation in the adiabatic approximation. In this case we have demonstrated that for a Lorentz profile line the amplitude of the soliton remains unchanged, the only effect of the perturbation results in a phase shift. 相似文献

We investigate the soliton steering in weakly nonlocal nonlinear media with harmonic modulation of the refractive index. It is shown that the weak nonlocality originated from the nonlocal nonlinear response of medium induces a transverse modulation of the refractive index, which leads to the occurrence of interplay between the weak nonlocality-induced transverse modulation and the harmonic modulation. Thus, one can control the soliton steering in weakly nonlocal medium, such as nematic liquid crystal, by employing the competition between the weak nonlocality parameter and the lattice depth. 相似文献

The method of multiple-scale perturbation is developed to study the propagation of solitons through an optical fiber described by the perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger's equation. We show that, by introducing a proper definition of the phase of the soliton, one can obtain the corrections to the pulse where the usual soliton perturbation approach fails.
