The Fibonacci piezoelectric superlattices(FPSs) with an external dc electric field is presented, in which the dc electric field can tune the bandwidth of polaritonic band gaps(PBGs) continuously and reversibly via the electrooptic effect. The absolute bandwidths of two major PBGs of the FPSs around ω= 7.5 GHz and ω = 12.5 GHz can be broadened from 0.022 GHz to 0.74 GHz and from 0.02 GHz to 0.82 GHz with the dc electric field increasing from 0 to 1.342 × 10~6 V/m, respectively. The corresponding relative bandwidths of the two major PBGs are widened from 0.28% to 9.2% and from 0.18% to 6.35%, respectively. The general mechanism for the bandwidth tunability is that the coupling strength between the lattice vibration and electromagnetic waves is capable of being altered by the dc electric field via the electro-optic effect. Thus the properties can be applied to construct microwave switchings or field tunable bulk acoustic filters.  相似文献

The dissipative dynamic stability is investigated of dark solitons in elongated Bose--Einstein condensates that can be described by the Gross--Pitaevskii equation including an additional term. Based on the direct perturbation theory for the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, the dependence of the soliton velocity on time is explicitly given, and the shape of dark solitons remaining unchanged under the dissipative condition is confirmed theoretically for the first time. It is found that the dynamically stable dark solitons turn out to be thermodynamically unstable.  相似文献

Using the direct soliton perturbation theory, we investigate the evolution of soliton parameters and the firstorder correction of bright soliton in a system with linear and nonlinear gain (or loss) and spectral filtering in a comprehensive way. The results obtained by means of our analytic method are consistent with numerical simulations. It is also found that the stable soliton propagation which has been investigated in a previous report by others is the limit case of our results.  相似文献

Dark soliton solutions of the one-dimensional complex Ginzburg--Landau equation (CGLE) are analysed for the case of normal group-velocity dispersion. The CGLE can be transformed to the nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation (NLSE) with perturbation terms under some practical conditions. The main properties of dark solitons are analysed by applying the direct perturbation theory of the NLSE. The results obtained may be helpful for the research on the optical soliton transmission system.  相似文献

将平面电磁波在一维介电各向同性周期介质中的传输矩阵问题扩展至一维介电各向异性周期介质,并得到了平面电磁波在此类介质中的传输矩阵.此矩阵的推导主要基于麦克斯韦方程组和电磁波在介质交界面的连续性条件,即电磁波在介质交界面的切向电场和磁场分量连续.通过此矩阵的推导可以加深学生对"电磁场与电磁波"这门课程的理解.此矩阵也是获得电磁波在一维介电各向异性周期介质中的场分布特性,色散关系和表面模式性质的基础.因此,此传输矩阵对科研和教学都有重要意义.  相似文献

The propagation of dark solitons in nonlinear media that include gain and Joss described by a nonlinear Schroedinger equation is investigated. Based on the direct approach of perturbation theorv, the width, height and other related quantities of dark solitons are obtained. It is shown that stationarv propagation of dark solitons is found to be possible in the presence of both gain and absorption. The results obtained by means of our analytic method are in excellent agreement with numerical simulations. Our results are helpful for the research into the optical soliton transmission system.  相似文献
