A dual interferometric displacement measurement system is presented where a Wollaston prism interferometer is employed in conjunction with a normal Michelson interferometer. The system operates without the use of external polarizers, apart from those associated with the Wollaston prism interferometer itself. It is shown that an optical path difference induced in the Michelson interferometer can be detected using the Wollaston prism in a normal interferometer arrangement. Further, the interference pattern produced by the Wollaston prism interferometer changes in a measurable, linear fashion as the optical path difference from the Michelson interferometer alters. A simple theoretical analysis of the system is presented and used to derive a computer model of the optical arrangement. Results from an experimental implementation of the system, using a Wollaston prism with a beam separation of 0.5 degrees and a superluminescent diode, of wavelength 825 nm, as a light source, are included and compared to the results from the computer model.  相似文献

A heterodyne technique for white-light interferometer with a lamp source, which uses two acousto-optic modulators, is developed for high-sensitivity detection of weak light. By using converging input beams input into a Michelson interferometer with spherical mirrors, the spectral dependence of the modulators is canceled, and the white-light heterodyne interference fringes are generated at 200 kHz. Using a tandem interferometer, the object surface which has a low surface reflectivity of less than 10−4 was detected with a good signal-to-noise ratio.  相似文献

传统的迈克尔逊干涉仪只能简单地呈现光的干涉图像,并不能生动体现光的波动特性及其形貌特征,且测量过程繁琐。针对这些问题,提出了一种基于数字全息技术的新型迈克尔逊干涉仪实验装置。该装置采用2个CCD相机代替传统迈克尔逊干涉仪中的平面反射镜,并引入与球面光相干的平面参考光与球面光发生干涉,利用数字全息技术直接获取2个CCD记录面上的球面光复振幅信息,然后通过最小二乘拟合获取球面波参数,并对球面光复振幅进行解调得到居中后的球面光复振幅,最后通过数字干涉的方法实现两球面光的干涉。实验结果表明,该装置能实时生动地显示入射球面光的三维图像和两球面光的干涉图像,同时根据拟合得到的参数能便捷地测量透明等厚介质的折射率,实验中测量了3种不同材料的折射率,其误差均能控制在±5%以内,有较高的测量精度。  相似文献

迈克耳孙干涉仪不仅可以用来研究物理学的基本问题,而且能够用于精密测量,比如引力波信号的测量.因此,构建高灵敏度的迈克耳孙干涉仪是实现微弱信号测量的关键.目前,人们利用压缩态可以降低迈克耳孙干涉仪的噪声;通过光学四波混频过程能够放大马赫·曾德尔干涉仪中的相位信号,从而提高干涉仪的信噪比和灵敏度.本文研究了一种用于高灵敏度相位测量的量子迈克耳孙干涉仪.在迈克耳孙干涉仪中,利用非简并光学参量放大器取代干涉仪中的线性光学分束器;并且将压缩态注入干涉仪的真空通道,可以得到高信噪比和高灵敏度的干涉仪.由于存在不可避免的光学损耗,分析了迈克耳孙干涉仪内部和外部的损耗对相位测量灵敏度的影响.通过理论计算研究了干涉仪的相位测量灵敏度随系统参数的变化关系,得到了高灵敏度的相位测量量子迈克耳孙干涉仪的实现条件,为用于精密测量的干涉仪的设计提供了直接参考.  相似文献

We describe preliminary experimental results concerning the operation of a 3 m arm-length Michelson interferometer with two Fabry-Perot cavities whose mirrors and beam splitter are suspended independently by wires. The reflected light beams from the two Fabry-Perot cavities are recombined to obtain interference at a photo-detector; this scheme is necessary for future power-recycled laser interferometers used to detect gravitational waves. The fundamental properties of the interferometer are presented, including the power spectral density of the displacement noise.  相似文献

Movements of a surface profile are measured with a two-grating interferometer using sinusoidal phase-modulation. Since sinusoidal phase-modulating (SPM) interferometry can record a phase change due to the movement of an object in the interference signal, the SPM interferometer is suitable for measuring the movement of the object. Some experiments show that the two-grating interferometer can measure a sinusoidal vibration with amplitude of several tens of microns and a step movement with a magnitude of several microns.  相似文献

We perform the second-order quantum interference experiment with the multimode photon pairs produced via an optical parametric oscillator far below threshold in a Michelson interferometer, measure the second-order correlation function in different cases. We find when the interferometer is highly unbalanced, the shape of the second-order correlation function is clearly dependent on the path length difference between two interfering beams. On the contrary, when the interferometer is nearly balanced, beside its height, the shape of the second-order correlation function is independent on the small path length difference. The second-order correlation function shows a multipeaked structure in both cases. All experimental results agree very well with the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In a Young–Michelson tandem interferometer a Michelson interferometer is illuminated through a pair of Young slits. The pattern produced by this set-up is analyzed theoretically. The consequences of small misalignments and uncompensated arms in the Michelson interferometer are studied. The effects of the spatial and temporal partial coherence of the source are also explored. Experimental results using a laser source are shown to be in good agreement with the predicted theoretical calculations.  相似文献

A fiber-optic interferometer is proposed and demonstrated experimentally for ultrasonic detection. The sensor consists of a compact Michelson interferometer (MI), which is fixed in a tilted-tube end-face (45°). Thin gold films are used for the reflective coatings of two arms and one of the interference arms is etched serving as the sensing arm. The spectral sideband filter technique is used to interrogate the continuous and pulse ultrasonic signals (with frequency of 300 KHz). Furthermore, because of the asymmetrical structure of the sensor, it presents strong direction-dependent ultrasonic sensitivity, such that the sensor can be considered a vector detector. The experimental results show that the sensor is highly sensitive to ultrasonic signals, and thus it can be a candidate for ultrasonic imaging of seismic physical models.  相似文献

Conclusion The new polarizing interferometer was constructed, in which all the radiation entering the interferometer can be utilized. From the experimental results in the atmosphere and for the water-vapour, it is seen that this spectrometer can work satisfactorily from 5 cm–1 to 1/2d cm–1. Comparison of the spectrun by this interferometer with one by the standard Michelson interferometer shows that the gain of luminosity is almost as expected. Grid with substrate causes the interference and produces the spectral response in the higher frequency region. Another configuration of two grids and two plane mirrors is proposed for the polarizing interferometer of high luminosity and of very simple design.  相似文献

试制了一台基于迈克耳逊干涉仪的空间调制型干涉成像光谱仪原理样机。样机将迈克耳逊干涉仪光路中的一面反射镜偏转一个小角度,使经两平面镜反射后的两束光波面之间产生一维连续的光程差,在图像传感器的像面上形成空间调制干涉条纹,构成空间调制型干涉成像光谱仪。一系列原理验证性实验表明:光谱仪原理正确可行,实验结果与理论相符,并且具有高通量,高信噪比,大视场和体积小,重量轻的优点。  相似文献

An on-axis phase-shifting reflective point-diffraction microscopic interferometer for quantitative phase microscopy based on Michelson architecture is proposed.A cube beamsplitter splits the object wave spectrum into two copies within two arms.Reference wave is rebuilt in one arm by low-pass filtering on the object wave frequency spectrum with a pinhole-mask mirror,and interferes with the object wave from the other arm.Polarization phase-shifting is performed and phase imaging on microscale specimens is implemented.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has the advantage of long-term stability due to its quasi common-path geometry with full use of laser energy.  相似文献

A parallel demodulation system for extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors is presented that is based on a Michelson interferometer and combines the methods of low-coherence interference and Fourier transform spectrum. Signals from EFPI and FBG sensors are obtained simultaneously by scanning one arm of a Michelson interferometer, and an algorithm model is established to process the signals and retrieve both the wavelength of the FBG and the cavity length of the EFPI at the same time, which are then used to determine the strain and temperature.  相似文献

We propose an integrated fiber Michelson interferometer based on a poled hollow twin-core fiber. The Michelson interferometer can be used as an electro-optic modulator by thermal poling one core of the twin-core fiber and introducing second-order nonlinearity in the fiber. The proposed fiber Michelson interferometer is experimentally demonstrated under driving voltages at the frequency range of 149 to 1000 Hz. The half-wave voltage of the poled fiber is 135 V, and the effective second-order nonlinear coefficient χ2 is 1.23 pm/V.  相似文献

A common-path interferometer using the modified Michelson system with a reflective grating is proposed for quantitative phase imaging. The frequency spectrum of the object beam is split into two beams using a beam splitter. One beam is diffracted into +1, 0, and −1 orders by the reflective grating to act as an object beam, and the other beam is low-filtered and diffracted by a pinhole mirror to act as a reference beam. Three phase-shifted interferograms can be simultaneously captured using the proposed interferometer, and the specimen phase can then be reconstructed from the three interferograms. Experiments are carried out to prove the precision, real-time ability, and stability of the proposed method.  相似文献

The physical conditions for observing the longitudinal spatial coherence of light of an extended thermal source in interference experiments are defined. For experimental verification of these conditions a Michelson interferometer with a longitudinal scanning mirror was used.
