通过分析铯原子在σ~+-σ~-组态的圆偏振光照射下塞曼子能级的分布情况,构造铯原子在二维磁光阱(2D-MOT)中的受力模型,利用龙格-库塔方法求解铯原子的运动方程,实现原子束产生过程的三维模拟.得出原子束流量随小孔半径、铯原子蒸汽压、激光光强、激光失谐量、磁场梯度等的变化规律.与实验数据进行比较表明受力模型的正确性,该方法能直观模拟原子束的产生,准确揭示原子束流量随各项参数的变化规律,为实验提供理论指导.  相似文献

提出了一种利用红失谐高斯光束偶极力实现二维磁光阱长距离传输冷原子束的方案.利用二能级原子所受散射力公式分析并构造了87 Rb原子在光偶极阱二维磁光阱(2D-ODT MOT)中的受力公式,考虑了原子与背景气体碰撞的影响,利用四阶龙格-库塔法求解原子运动方程,获得原子的运动轨迹,统计并求出原子在不同高斯光束失谐以及功率条件作用下进入差分泵浦范围的原子数.实验验证了在红失谐高斯光束与原子束推送光相互组合的4种工作状态下科学实验腔中磁光阱冷原子装载情况.理论与实验结果表明:基于红失谐高斯光束的二维磁光阱长距离传输冷原子束的效果提升显著,科学腔原子装载效率明显提升、原子数目明显增加.  相似文献

我们在实验上基于铯原子的2D+磁光阱获得了通量为8.5×1010原子/s、平均速度与速度分布分别为16 m/s与4 m/s、空间发散角为25 mrad的冷原子束流,通过相敏的飞行时间法对原子束流的通量进行了准确测量,并对背景原子气压、推送光功率以及冷却光失谐等参量对原子束流的影响进行了实验研究与分析.  相似文献

在精密测量领域中,高效地制备冷原子团具有重要的意义.在光晶格钟里,缩短冷原子团的制备时间可以降低Dick噪声,从而提高光晶格钟的稳定性.本文采用二维磁光阱加推送光的构型提高了三维磁光阱在超高真空环境中的装载率,并通过压缩磁光阱技术降低了原子团温度,实现了用于199Hg光晶格钟的增强型冷原子团制备.实验上通过优化三维和二维磁光阱的失谐量和磁场梯度以及推送光的失谐量和功率等参数,将三维磁光阱的199Hg冷原子装载率增强了51倍,提升至3.1×105 s–1,然后使用压缩磁光阱技术将199Hg冷原子团的温度降低至45μK,低于多普勒冷却理论温度.这种基于二维磁光阱的增强型冷原子团制备可在超真空环境下实现对三维磁光阱装载率的高增益,有效地缩短了冷原子团的制备时间,同时也降低了原子团的温度,有利于提高光晶格的转移效率,为其他冷原子实验中冷汞原子团制备提供了有效方案.  相似文献

本文提出一种利用磁光阱冷却捕获技术制备低速、连续、单色性好原子束的方法及技术.采用3维磁光阱从背景Rb蒸汽中捕获Rb87原子进行冷却、捕获形成原子云团,利用在纵向方向上结构设计的小孔将冷原子云团推出形成冷原子束,并在原子束行进方向上采用2维光学黏胶对原子束进行准直,采用态制备激光对其进行态制备,全部制备到Rb87原子的基态能级|F=1>上,从而为原子惯性技术(原子干涉仪、原子重力仪、原子加速度计)、原子频标(原子钟)提供低速、连续、单色性好的原子束.文章对于制备技术的实验系统及实验结果进行了详细的阐述.  相似文献

在考虑随机因素的情况下, 应用蒙特卡罗方法在理论上详细研究了锶原子束二维激光准直的动力学过程. 综合考虑原子横向发散角、初始原子位置、纵向速度分布、同位素等因素, 获得了激光二维准直后的原子横向空间分布的模拟结果以及随准直光失谐、光功率等参量因素的变化. 通过与实验数据比较, 理论值和实验值很好相符, 显示蒙特卡罗方法可以精确地描述锶原子束二维准直的动力学过程. 为原子束激光二维准直的精确控制, 高精度原子钟系统的优化, 提供了一种理论分析方法. 关键词: 二维准直 蒙特卡罗方法 横向空间分布  相似文献

介绍了吸收法测量冷原子数的原理以及对铯原子气室磁光阱中俘获的冷原子数目的测量过程及结果. 与通常的荧光收集法相比,在原理上与静止二能级原子同共振单模光场作用的模型更加接近,同时大大减小了测量中的误差累积,提高了测量精度. 测得的冷原子数为(8±0.3)×106,同时还利用测得的阱中俘获的稳态冷原子数和磁光阱中冷原子的寿命间接获得了磁光阱的俘获率. 关键词: 激光冷却与俘获 磁光阱 冷原子数目 俘获率  相似文献

建立了一套用于玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚实验的铷原子双磁光阱装置.从低速强源中获得慢原子束,向超高真空磁光阱进行原子转移.低速强源磁光阱与超高真空磁光阱之间可维持3个量级的压强差,超高真空磁光阱的真空度最高可达1×10-9 Pa. 慢原子束的束流通量达1×109/s. 约4×10887Rb原子被装载到超高真空磁光阱中.还讨论了两种典型情况下磁光阱中装载的最大原子数.  相似文献

高强度的亚稳态惰性原子束流在原子分子物理实验研究中具有广泛的应用.使用射频电离方法和激光横向冷却技术制备了高强度的亚稳态氪原子束流,并使用数值模拟方法对横向冷却激光场中的原子径迹进行了分析.通过激光诱导荧光光谱方法测量原子束的束流特性,结果显示,横向冷却后在束流源下游230 cm处的原子束流强度达1.6atoms/(s*sr),束流强度提高了两个量级.利用这种高强度原子束流,我们成功囚禁了1.3×1010个亚稳态84Kr原子,同时冷原子装载速率达到了3.0×1011atoms/s;并利用该装置成功地实现了高亮度的亚稳态氩原子束和原子阱. 关键词: 横向冷却 原子束 原子阱 惰性气体  相似文献

We develop a simple and practical scheme to apply sideband cooling to a cloud of rubidium atoms. A sample containing 4 × 10~(70) ~(87)Rb is trapped in a far red detuned optical lattice. Through optimizing the relevant parameters, i.e., laser detuning, magnetic field, polarization, and duration time, a temperature around 1.5 μK and phase space density close to 1/500 are achieved. Compared with polarization gradient cooling, the temperature decreases by around one order of magnitude. This technique could be used in high precision measurement such as atomic clocks and atom interferometer. It could also serve as a precooling means before evaporation cooling in a dipole trap, and may be a promising method of achieving quantum degeneracy with purely optical means.  相似文献

We consider the propagation of an atomic beam in a quadrupole magnetic field under transverse irradiation by a cooling laser field. The cooling laser field was chosen in the form of a two-dimensional σ+? configuration. We show that the sub-Doppler resonance in the radiation force can be used to reduce the diameter of the atomic beam to a value on the order of 10 mm. We establish that the simultaneous transverse cooling and compression of the atomic beam allow its phase density to be increased to values of the order of 10?4–10?3. The dipole interaction of an atom with the cooling and compressing laser field in a quadrupole magnetic field is analyzed in terms of a simple (3 + 5)-level model atom.

This paper reports an experimental study on the collimation and decollimation of an atomic beam in a misaligned standing wave, in which the effective detuning caused by the Doppler effect is affected by the longitudinal velocity of the atomic beam. The experiment shows that in a strong field with red detuning between laser field and atomic transition frequency, laser heating in a normal standing wave becomes laser cooling in a misaligned standing wave for an approriate misalignment angle. For blue detuning, laser cooling in a standing wave can also become laser heating in a misaligned standing wave for an appropriate condition. A method is proposed for the creation of an entangled metastable (subradiance) excited state in a system of two closely spaced identical atoms. The system of unexcited atoms is first placed in a magnetic field that is directed at a magic angle of \({\alpha _0} = {\text{arccos}}\left( {1/\sqrt 3 } \right) \approx 54.7^\circ \) to the line connecting the atoms and has a transverse gradient. The gradient of the field results in the detuning of frequencies of an optical transition of the atoms. Then, the resonant laser excitation of an atom with a higher transition frequency is performed with the subsequent adiabatic switching-off of the gradient of the magnetic field. It is shown that the excited atomic system in this case transits with overwhelming probability to an entangled subradiance state. Requirements on the spectroscopic parameters of the transitions and on the rate of varying the gradient of the magnetic field necessary for the implementation of this effect are analyzed.  相似文献

We carried out theoretical investigation about velocity-selective atomic excitation on long-lived (metastable) levels of an atomic vapour in a thin cell by a monochromatic laser beam, running in the normal direction. The regime of coherent Rabi oscillations is considered on the light-induced transition from a sublevel of the ground quantum term to a metastable atomic level. On the basis of density matrix equations for the two-level system, we analysed the atomic population density of the metastable level, when the sample is irradiated by resonant monochromatic laser beam with an annular cross-section versus atomic velocities and versus the detuning, the amplitude, and the geometry of the laser beam. It is shown that, in the centre of the annular region, it can be obtained a population distribution on the metastable level as a function of the laser detuning, characterized by a sharp narrow resonance profile, whose width is reduced with respect to the thermal Doppler width roughly by the ratio between the diameter of the irradiated region and the inner thickness of the cell. We suggest high-sensitive schemes, in order to detect these sub-Doppler resonances, by probing the population of the metastable state with a second laser beam, resonant with a transition leaving from the metastable level. We demonstrate an experimental setup for the production of a beam source of cold 87Rb atoms. The atoms are extracted from a trapped cold atomic cloud in an unbalanced three-dimensional magneto-optical trap. Via a radiation pressure difference generated by a specially designed leak tunnel along one trapping laser beam, the atoms are pushed out continuously with low velocities and a high flux. The most-probable velocity in the beam is varied from 9 m/s to 19 m/s by varying the detuning of the trapping laser beams in the magneto-optical trap and the flux can be tuned up to 4×109 s-1 by increasing the intensity of the trapping beams. We also present a simple model for describing the dependence of the beam performance on the magneto-optical trap trapping laser intensity and the detuning.  相似文献

We have established a caesium double magneto-optical trap (MOT) system for cavity-QED experiment, and demonstrated the continuous transfer of cold caesium atoms from the vapour-cell MOT with a pressure of ~ 1×10-6 Pa to the ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) MOT with a pressure of ~ 8×10-8 Pa via a focused continuous-wave transfer laser beam. The effect of frequency detuning as well as the intensity of the transfer beam is systematically investigated, which makes the transverse cooling adequate before the atoms leak out of the vapour-cell MOT to reduce divergence of the cold atomic beam. The typical cold atomic flux got from vapour-cell MOT is ~2×107 atoms/s. About 5×106 caesium atoms are recaptured in the UHV MOT.  相似文献
