We propose and experimentally demonstrate a frequency divider implemented by an optically injected Fabry-Perot laser diode (FP-LD) based on the nonlinear dynamical period-one oscillation. Injected by optical pulses, the FP-LD will oscillate in unstable dynamical period-one (P1) oscillation. Through changing the injected strength, emitting wavelength and bias current of the FP-LD, the oscillating frequencies of the P1 state can be varied. Once one of the harmonic frequencies is adjusted to match the repetition frequency of injected optical clock pulse, the P1 oscillation will be locked, and then a divided clock at the fundamental frequency of the P1 oscillation can be generated. By utilizing this divider, we can achieve the optical clock frequency division of divide-by-two, -three and -four in a wide input frequency range, for instance, of 9.0 to 20.0 GHz for divide-by-two. The influence of injected optical power on the timing jitter of the divided clock is also investigated. It is expected that this frequency divider can be applied to high frequency division exceeding 100 GHz due to its fast P1 oscillation.  相似文献

All optical bit clock recovery is one of the key technologies for all optical 3R recovery. In this paper, a simple method applying the combination of Fabry–Perot (F–P) filter and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) for clock recovery is proposed. The effect of the F–P filter finesse on the clock recovery and the reduction in the amplitude fluctuation of the clock pulse by the SOA are discussed theoretically. With this technology 10 Gbit/s clock recovery with equal amplitude and wavelength transparency was realized experimentally.  相似文献

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the generation of a pair of polarity-reversed 24 GHz millimeter-wave (MMW) ultra-wideband (UWB) monocycles. The scheme is realized by using delay interferometer (DI) based phase modulation to intensity modulation (PM–IM) conversion and carrier suppression modulation (CSM) based frequency up-conversion. The phase modulation is realized by using either electro-optic phase modulator (EOPM) or cross phase modulation (XPM) in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), which is an all-optical approach to obtaining baseband UWB signals, respectively. After frequency up-converted by using CSM in a Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM), a pair of polarity-reversed 24 GHz MMW-UWB signals complying with the Federal Communication Committee (FCC) requirements is generated. The bi-phase modulation (BPM) of 24 GHz MMW-UWB signals can also be realized by electrically switching the bias voltage of delay interferometer.  相似文献

A novel scheme for all-optical frequency multiplication/recovery based on a semiconductor optical amplifier ring cavity is proposed and investigated numerically. The results show, for a 2.5 GHz driving pulse train, it can be generated 5-25 GHz repetition rate pulse trains with low clock amplitude jitter, polarization independence and high peak power. Furthermore, the extraction of the clock signal from a pseudorandom bit sequence signal can be realized based on the proposed scheme.  相似文献

实验研究了重复速率为6.32 GHz的光脉冲注人法布里-珀罗(Fabry-Perot)半导体激光器实现3.16 GHz光脉冲输出的时钟分频现象,讨论了 Fabry-Perot半导体激光器的偏置电流、注入光功率、注入光光谱以及光谱线宽等因素对时钟分频的影响.利用光注入半导体激光器产生的周期二振荡非线性动力学特性.实现了高重复速率光脉冲的时钟分频.研究表明,当注入光的光谱较窄且锁定Fabry-Perot半导体激光器某一纵模时,在较低的偏置电流和一定的注入光功率时,时钟分频才能发生.采用半导体激光器的速率方程.通过数值模拟,研究了半导体激光器的偏置电流和线宽增强因子以及注入光功率对时钟分频的影响,所得结果与实验结果相吻合.  相似文献

The high degree nonlinearity properties of avalanche diode render itself suitable for high order frequency multiplication in a single stage. This paper first analyzes the mechanism of multiplication mode, and introduces the principle of high order frequency multiplier. In experiment, the multiplier has achieved maximum 7 dBm output power and 19 dB conversion loss at the output frequency of 94.5 GHz with 15th multiplication order.  相似文献

<正>We develop a high-speed tunable,quasi-continuous-wave laser source for frequency domain(FD) optical coherence tomography(OCT).The laser resonance is realized within a unidirectional all-fiber ring cavity consisting of a fiber coupler,two fiber isolators,a semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA),and a fiber FabryPerot tunable filter(FFP-TF) for frequency tuning.Light output from the coupler is further amplified and spectral shaped by a booster SOA terminated at both ends with two isolators.The developed laser source provides up to 8000 sweeps per second over a full-width wavelength tuning range of 120 nm at center wavelength of 1320 nm with an average power of 9 mW,yielding an axial resolution of 13.6μm in air and a maximum sensitivity of about 112 dB for OCT imaging.The instantaneous linewidth is about 0.08 nm,enabling OCT imaging over an axial range of 3.4 mm in air.For optimization consideration based on this custom-built swept laser,experimental study on imaging quality relevant parameters of the swept laser with sine and ramp driving waveforms to the FFP-TF is conducted,and investigation of the swept laser on the cavity length is done.Implementing the laser source in our established swept source based OCT(SS-OCT) system,real-time structural imaging of biological tissue is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper, we Analyze multitone microwave signals on optical fiber with different tone signals and utilizing various possibilities of regeneration and amplification by different means. We compare out the performance analysis of Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) and Semi-conductor Optical Amplifiers (SOA). The period-one oscillation produced by an external optical pulse injection driven semiconductor laser is applied to clock recovery and frequency division. By adjusting the repetition rate or injection power of the external injection optical pulses to lock the different harmonic frequencies of the period-one state, the clock recovery and the frequency division (the second and third frequency divisions) are achieved experimentally. In addition, in frequency locking ranges of 2 GHz and 1.9 GHz, the second and third frequency divisions are obtained with the phase noise lower than 100 dBc/Hz, respectively. Our experimental results are consistent well with the numerical simulations.  相似文献

从理论和实验上研究了利用光注入半导体激光器对高重复速率光脉冲产生的周期振荡和时钟分频现象.结果表明,光注入半导体激光器引起的二倍周期振荡是使注入脉冲重复频率分频的直接原因.通过耦合速率方程,数值模拟了半导体激光器在外光注入时输出光的时间序列和功率谱,并且分析了激光腔内各种周期振荡的特征.研究表明,当注入光使半导体激光器出现稳定的二倍周期振荡,且注入光的重复频率为此振荡频率的二倍时,时钟分频即可产生实验中,采用重复频率为6.32GHz的光脉冲注入Fabry-Perot激光器,实现了3.16GHz时钟分频信号 关键词: 周期振荡 时钟分频 光谱侧带 光注入  相似文献

采用Fabry-Perot半导体激光器作为全光时钟分频器件,利用光注入半导体激光器产生的非线性动力学特性,实现了光脉冲的重复速率在9.0 GHz到19.8 GHz范围内连续可调的全光时钟分频. 同时利用半导体激光器速率方程,对脉冲光注入半导体激光器产生时钟分频进行了数值模拟. 实验和模拟结果表明半导体激光器在光注入的驱动下处于一周期振荡状态,当一周期振荡的二次谐波频率接近脉冲光的重复速率时,其二次谐波和基频被脉冲光同时锁定,此时将输出频率为脉冲光重复速率一半的时钟信号. 同时研究了波长失谐量和注入光功率对 关键词: 周期振荡 时钟分频 光注入 非线性动力学  相似文献

By controlling the wavelength and power of multiple light sources, we have realized a highly flexible Nyquist pulse generation scheme, in which the pulse repetition frequency, pulse multiplication factor, waveform envelope shape, and duty cycle are all tunable. By modulating the 3.2 GHz RF signal, we experimentally generated Nyquist pulses with repetition rates of 6.4 GHz and 9.6 GHz, a rectangular wave with a duty cycle of 0.26,and a sawtooth wave with a duty cycle of 0.52.  相似文献

光正交频分复用系统中的光纤非线性效应制约着系统进一步的扩容. 针对此问题, 提出一种数字相干叠加的方法, 用于提高相干光正交频分复用系统对光纤非线性的容忍性. 仿真中, 5通道的波分复用下偏振复用相干光正交频分复用系统的每个通道传输四进制正交振幅调制映射的71.53 Gbit/s信号在光纤中传输400 km. 首先, 通道间隔为25 GHz, 与传统相干光正交频分复用系统相比, 色散补偿前后, 使用数字相干叠加的相干光正交频分复用系统的信噪比分别提升了6.02 dB和9.05 dB, 最佳入纤光功率均增大了2 dB; 其次, 通道间隔为50 GHz, 色散补偿前后, 信噪比分别提升了4.9 dB和8.75 dB. 通过理论推导及仿真, 验证了所提方法能有效消除相干光正交频分复用系统的一阶非线性失真, 进而提高系统对光纤非线性的容忍性.  相似文献

提出了一种利用Fabry-Perot(FP)半导体激光器同步提取波长转换的分路光时钟的新方法,并对该方法进行了数值模拟和实验验证.光注入半导体激光器会产生非线性单周期振荡特性,利用交叉增益调制效应及对单周期振荡的微波锁频效应,可从光时分复用信号中提取出波长转换的分路光时钟.采用一个FP半导体激光器作为全光分路时钟提取及波长转换器,数值模拟实现了从波长为1555 nm、速率为2×20 Gb/s的光时分复用信号中提取出波长转换为1550 nm、重复频率为20 GHz的分路光时钟,实验完成了从波长为155024 nm、重复频率为1236 GHz光脉冲信号中提取出相位噪声为-105 dBc/Hz的波长为154591 nm、重复频率618 GHz的分频光时钟.此外还详细研究了注入光功率、波长失谐、FP激光器偏置电流及纵模选择对光时钟提取的影响,实验结果和数值模拟结果符合.该方法在光时分复用混合波分复用通信系统中实现全光解复用及波长路由有着重要的应用价值. 关键词: 波长转换 时钟提取 光注入 非线性动力学  相似文献

A multiwavelength fiber ring laser obtained by use of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) with a simple laser cavity configuration is reported. A Fabry-Perot filter was used in the fiber laser ring cavity to achieve more than 50 simultaneous wavelength lasing oscillations with a frequency separation of 50 GHz. The resulting stable broadband multiwavelength lasing operation was attributed to broadband and flat gain of the SOA, which has a gain flatness of 0.8 dB for more than 20 nm. The laser has a total output power of -3 dBm and a signal-to-spontaneous-noise ratio of 30 dB.  相似文献

A high-resolution spectroscopy technique is proposed with an optical phase modulator combined with an interleaved optical frequency comb. The optical phase modulator and a frequency-locked laser light guarantee a spectral resolution less than 1 MHz on an absolute frequency axis. A wide measurement frequency range was realized using a 25 GHz optical frequency comb lying over a 4 THz frequency region. An extraction of single tooth intensity from the comb was realized by a heterodyne technique with a frequency-tunable laser used as a local oscillator. Also, the 25 GHz optical frequency comb was interleaved to generate four 100-GHz combs for removing the crosstalk from the 25 GHz neighboring sidebands in the teeth. This proposed spectroscopy technique was experimentally demonstrated with a resonator of less than 1 MHz linewidth and a H13C14N gas cell. Thus, a measurement frequency range higher than 4 THz (1530 nm-1560 nm) was confirmed with an effective spectral resolution 100 kHz order. In addition, the characteristics of the proposed system were compared with those of the previous system with a single-sideband (SSB) optical modulator.  相似文献

In this paper, we have investigated the wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) system using ring network topology. This network is used to increase the capacity with eight optical add/drop multiplexers (OADMs) by using dispersion compensating fiber and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) to achieve a distance up to 1600 km. It is observed that network shows the acceptable results at 15 Gbps data rate with 100 GHz channel spacing. The OADM nodes are also varied to investigate the network performance in the term of BER and Q-factor.  相似文献

报道了一种全部由10GHz带宽的元件构成的、用于时钟提取的双环注入锁模光纤激光器.这种装置集光电振荡器(OEO)与注入锁模光纤激光器的优点于一体,利用它不仅从恶化的数据信号中实现了10Gb/s的位时钟提取,在采用了光电振荡器的分频、锁模光纤激光器的有理谐波锁模以及F-P梳状滤波器的频率倍乘技术以后,还从20Gb/s和40Gb/s的恶化信号中提取出了位时钟.该方案的另一个优点是无码型效应.  相似文献

Filter-free ultra-wideband (UWB) doublet pulse generation is experimentally demonstrated in the optical domain based on cross-gain modulation (XGM) in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and UWB-over-fiber technology is implemented by exploiting dispersion-induced pulse broadening effect in single-mode fiber (SMF). In our proposed system, the SOA generates a polarity-inversed Gaussian pulse train with respect to the injected one through the XGM. After a piece of SMF, the bandwidth of polarity-reversed Gaussian pulse broadens due to the induced dispersion. After the combination of the two light waves with a suitable time delay between them, UWB pulse is obtained. The key parameters for UWB pulse, including central frequency, 10 dB bandwidth, as well as fractional bandwidth are experimentally obtained with 8 GHz, 9.9 GHz and 123% respectively. The generated UWB doublet pulse conforms with the UWB definition of Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  相似文献
