Existence and asymptotic properties of solutions for a nonlinear Schrödinger elliptic equation from geophysical fluid flows

In this paper, we study the existence and asymptotic behavior of radial solutions for a class of nonlinear Schrödinger elliptic equations on infinite domains describing the gyre of geophysical fluid flows. The existence theorem and asymptotic properties of radial positive solutions are established by using a new renormalization technique.     

Existence and stability of traveling wavefronts in a nonlocal diffusion equation with delay

This paper is concerned with the existence, asymptotic stability and uniqueness of traveling wavefronts in a nonlocal diffusion equation with delay. By constructing proper upper and lower solutions, the existence and asymptotic behavior of traveling wavefronts are established. Then the asymptotic stability with phase shift as well as the uniqueness up to translation of traveling wavefronts are proved by applying the idea of squeezing technique.     

Regular and extremal solutions for difference equations with generalized phi-Laplacian

Non-oscillatory solutions for second-order difference equations with generalized phi-Laplacian are studied. Solutions are classified according to the asymptotic behaviour as regular or extremal solutions. Their existence and possible coexistence are investigated as well. In particular, the existence of infinitely many extremal solutions for equations with the discrete mean curvature operator is proved by means of an iterative method. This paper is completed by examples and some open problems.     

Persistence and stability in general nonautonomous single-species Kolmogorov systems with delays

This paper studies the general nonautonomous single-species Kolmogorov systems with delays. The sufficient conditions on the persistence and permanence of species, global asymptotic stability and the existence of positive periodic solutions are established. As applications of these results, the permanence, global asymptotic stability and the existence of positive periodic solutions for a series of special single-species growth systems with delays are discussed.     

Traveling wave solutions in a diffusive system with two preys and one predator

This paper is concerned with the traveling wave solutions in a diffusive system with two preys and one predator. By constructing upper and lower solutions, the existence of nontrivial traveling wave solutions is established. The asymptotic behavior of traveling wave solutions is also confirmed by combining the asymptotic spreading with the contracting rectangles. Applying the theory of asymptotic spreading, the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions is proved.

This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of nonnegative classical solutions to the initial-boundary value problems for the pseudo-parabolic equation with strongly nonlinear sources. Furthermore, we discuss the asymptotic behavior of solutions as the viscosity coefficient k tends to zero.     

Existence and boundary behavior of solutions of Hessian equations with singular right-hand sides

In this paper, we establish the existence of viscosity solutions of Hessian equations with singular right-hand sides and obtain the asymptotic boundary behavior of solutions. The asymptotic results generalize those for Poisson equations and Monge-Ampère equations, and are more precise than obtained from Hopf lemma.     

Global attractor for the regularized Bénard problem

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behaviour of weak solutions for the regularized Bénard problem. We establish the global existence and uniqueness of weak solutions of this problem and give a proof for the existence of global attractor in the three-dimensional case for this system.     

Some new basic results for singularly perturbed ordinary differential equations

Asymptotic results are obtained for an initial-value problem for singularly perturbed systems. Existence of bounded solutions to singularly perturbed systems is deduced from the results of a previous paper [9]. These results significantly enlarge the class of limiting asymptotic solutions of singularly perturbed systems inasmuch as the limiting solutions satisfy equations more general than the classical reduced system. These results generalize those of Tikhonov [3] for the initial value problem, Flatto and Levinson [6] for the existence of periodic solutions and Hale and Seifert [7] for the existence of almost-periodic solutions.     

Asymptotic periodicity of a food-limited diffusive population model with time-delay

In this paper, a general reaction-diffusion food-limited population model with time-delay is proposed. Accordingly, the existence and uniqueness of the periodic solutions for the boundary value problem and the asymptotic periodicity of the initial-boundary value problem are considered. Finally, the effect of the time-delay on the asymptotic behavior of the solutions is given.

In this paper we investigate a two-species competitive chemotaxis Keller–Segel system. We first obtain the local existence and global existence of classical solutions and then study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions.     

Asymptotic bounds of solutions for a periodic doubly degenerate parabolic equation

This paper is concerned with a doubly degenerate parabolic equation with logistic periodic sources. We are interested in the discussion of the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. In this paper, we first establish the existence of non-trivial nonnegative periodic solutions by a monotonicity method. Then by using the Moser iterative method, we obtain an a priori upper bound of the nonnegative periodic solutions, by means of which we show the existence of the maximum periodic solution and asymptotic bounds of the nonnegative solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. We also prove that the support of the non-trivial nonnegative periodic solution is independent of time.

Consider in this paper the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of the mixed problem for a class of degenerate quasilincar parabolic equations and properties of the corresponding stationary solutions.     

Asymptotic Behaviour and Global Existence of Solutions for Some Classes of Nonlinear Parabolic Equations

The paper deals with the asymptotic behaviour and global existence of solutions for some classes of nonlinear parabolic equations in regard to the monotone properties of the nonlinear term. The asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of initial-boundary value problem for nonlinear parabolic equations is studied via the method of differential inequalities in order to obtain oscillation criterion for the solutions. Existence of extremal solutions of semilinear elliptic and parabolic equations is investigated via monotone iterative methods. The extremal solutions are obtained via monotone iterates.

The existence of singular solutions of the incompressible Navier-Stokes system with singular external forces, the existence of regular solutions for more regular forces as well as the asymptotic stability of small solutions (including stationary ones), and a pointwise loss of smoothness for solutions are proved in the same function space of pseudomeasure type.
