We study the superconvergence property of fully discrete finite element approximation for quadratic optimal control problems governed by semilinear parabolic equations with control constraints. The time discretization is based on difference methods, whereas the space discretization is done using finite element methods. The state and the adjoint state are approximated by piecewise linear functions and the control is approximated by piecewise constant functions. First, we define a fully discrete finite element approximation scheme for the semilinear parabolic control problem. Second, we derive the superconvergence properties for the control, the state and the adjoint state. Finally, we do some numerical experiments for illustrating our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze a characteristic finite element approximation of convex optimal control problems governed by linear convection-dominated diffusion equations with pointwise inequality constraints on the control variable, where the state and co-state variables are discretized by piecewise linear continuous functions and the control variable is approximated by either piecewise constant functions or piecewise linear discontinuous functions. A priori error estimates are derived for the state, co-state and the control. Numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of the characteristic finite element method.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with recovery type a posteriori error estimates of fully discrete finite element approximation for general convex parabolic optimal control problems with pointwise control constraints. The time discretization is based on the backward Euler method. The state and the adjoint state are approximated by piecewise linear functions and the control is approximated by piecewise constant functions. We derive the superconvergence properties of finite element solutions. By using the superconvergence results, we obtain recovery type a posteriori error estimates. Some numerical examples are presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

A semi-linear elliptic control problems with distributed control and pointwise inequality constraints on the control and the state is considered. The general optimization problem is perturbed by a certain class of perturbations, and we establish convergence of local solutions of the perturbed problems to a local solution of the unperturbed optimal control problem. This class of perturbations include finite element discretization as well as data perturbation such that the theory implies convergence of finite element approximation and stability w.r.t.?noisy data.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine the method of characteristic-mixed finite element for the approximation of convex optimal control problem governed by time-dependent convection-diffusion equations with control constraints. For the discretization of the state equation, the characteristic finite element is used for the approximation of the material derivative term (i.e., the time derivative term plus the convection term), and the lowest-order Raviart-Thomas mixed element is applied for the approximation of the diffusion term. We derive some a priori error estimates for both the state and control approximations.  相似文献

The Euler approximation in state constrained optimal control   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1

We analyze the Euler approximation to a state constrained control problem. We show that if the active constraints satisfy an independence condition and the Lagrangian satisfies a coercivity condition, then locally there exists a solution to the Euler discretization, and the error is bounded by a constant times the mesh size. The proof couples recent stability results for state constrained control problems with results established here on discrete-time regularity. The analysis utilizes mappings of the discrete variables into continuous spaces where classical finite element estimates can be invoked.

In this paper, we discuss the a posteriori error estimate of the finite element approximation for the boundary control problems governed by the parabolic partial differential equations. Three different a posteriori error estimators are provided for the parabolic boundary control problems with the observations of the distributed state, the boundary state and the final state. It is proven that these estimators are reliable bounds of the finite element approximation errors, which can be used as the indicators of the mesh refinement in adaptive finite element methods.  相似文献

The numerical approximation to a parabolic control problem with control and state constraints is studied in this paper. We use standard piecewise linear and continuous finite elements for the space discretization of the state, while the dG(0) method is used for time discretization. A priori error estimates for control and state are obtained by an improved maximum error estimate for the corresponding discretized state equation. Numerical experiments are provided which support our theoretical results.  相似文献

We consider an elliptic optimal control problem with control constraints and pointwise bounds on the gradient of the state. We present a tailored finite element approximation to this optimal control problem, where the cost functional is approximated by a sequence of functionals which are obtained by discretizing the state equation with the help of the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element. Pointwise bounds on the gradient variable are enforced in the elements of the triangulation. Controls are not discretized. Error bounds for control and state are obtained in two and three space dimensions. A numerical example confirms our analytical findings.  相似文献

This paper is aimed at studying finite element discretization for a class of quadratic boundary optimal control problems governed by nonlinear elliptic equations. We derive a posteriori error estimates for the coupled state and control approximation. Such estimates can be used to construct a reliable adaptive finite element approximation for the boundary optimal control problem. Finally, we present a numerical example to confirm our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the L ??(L 2)-error estimates and superconvergence of the semidiscrete mixed finite elementmethods for quadratic optimal control problems governed by linear hyperbolic equations. The state and the co-state are discretized by the order k Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise polynomials of order k(k ?? 0). We derive error estimates for approximation of both state and control. Moreover, we present the superconvergence analysis for mixed finite element approximation of the optimal control problems.  相似文献

In this article, we shall give a brief review on the fully discrete mixed finite element method for general optimal control problems governed by parabolic equations. The state and the co-state are approximated by the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise constant elements. Furthermore, we derive a posteriori error estimates for the finite element approximation solutions of optimal control problems. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this article, we describe a discontinuous finite volume method with interpolated coefficients for the numerical approximation of the distributed optimal control problem governed by a class of semilinear elliptic equations with control constraints. The proposed distributed control problem involves three unknown variable: control, state and costate. For the approximation of control, we have adopted three different methodologies: variational discretization, piecewise constant and piecewise linear discretization, while the approximation of state and costate variables is based on discontinuous piecewise linear polynomials. As the resulted scheme is non‐symmetric, optimize‐then‐discretize approach is used to approximate the control problem. Optimal a priori error estimates in suitable natural norms for state, costate and control variables are derived. Moreover, numerical experiments are presented to support the derived theoretical results. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 33: 2090–2113, 2017  相似文献

The goal of this paper is to study a mixed finite element approximation of the general convex optimal control problems governed by quasilinear elliptic partial differential equations. The state and co-state are approximated by the lowest order Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise constant functions. We derive a priori error estimates both for the state variables and the control variable. Finally, some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

We study the numerical approximation of distributed optimal control problems governed by semilinear elliptic partial differential equations with pointwise constraints on the control. Piecewise linear finite elements are used to approximate the control as well as the state. We prove that the L 2-error estimates are of order o(h), which is optimal according with the $C^{0,1}(\overline{\Omega})$ -regularity of the optimal control.  相似文献

We consider linear-quadratic problems of optimal control with an elliptic state equation and control constraints. For a discretization of the state equation by the method of Finite Differences and a piecewise approximation of the control we develop error estimates for the solution of the discrete problem and, based on the optimality conditions, we construct a new feasible control for which we derive error estimates of quadratic order.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the stable solution of ill-posed convex semi-infinite problems on the base of their sequential approximation by finite dimensional convex problems on a sequence of grids. These auxiliary programs are constructed by using the iterative Prox-regularization and for solving each of them only one step of a penalty method is applied. A simple deletion procedure of inactive constraints is suggested. The choice of the control parameters secure the convergence of the methods and a linear convergence rate is obtained  相似文献

In this paper, we derive a posteriori error estimates for finite element approximations of the optimal control problems governed by the Stokes-Darcy system. We obtain a posteriori error estimators for both the state and the control based on the residual of the finite element approximation. It is proved that the a posteriori error estimate provided in this paper is both reliable and efficient.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an a posteriori error analysis for finite element approximation of distributed convex optimal control problems. We derive a posteriori error estimates for the coupled state and control approximations under some assumptions which hold in many applications. Such estimates, which are apparently not available in the literature, can be used to construct reliable adaptive finite element approximation schemes for control problems. Explicit estimates are obtained for some model problems which frequently appear in real-life applications.  相似文献
