We prove that if R is a left Noetherian and left regular ring then the same is true for any bijective skew PBW extension A of R. From this we get Serre's Theorem for such extensions. We show that skew PBW extensions and its localizations include a wide variety of rings and algebras of interest for modern mathematical physics such as PBW extensions, well-known classes of Ore algebras, operator algebras, diffusion algebras, quantum algebras, quadratic algebras in 3-variables, skew quantum polynomials, among many others. We estimate the global, Krull and Goldie dimensions, and also Quillen's K-groups.  相似文献

The strong global dimension of a finite dimensional algebra A is the maximum of the width of indecomposable bounded differential complexes of finite dimensional projective A-modules. We prove that the strong global dimension of a finite dimensional radical square zero algebra A over an algebraically closed field is finite if and only if A is piecewise hereditary. Moreover, we discuss results concerning the finiteness of the strong global dimension of algebras and the related problem on the density of the push-down functors associated to the canonical Galois coverings of the trivial extensions of algebras by their repetitive algebras.  相似文献

Given a generalized Weyl algebra A of degree 1 with the base algebra D, we prove that the difference of the Gelfand–Kirillov dimension of A and that of D could be any positive integer or infinity. Under mild conditions, this difference is exactly 1. As applications, we calculate the Gelfand–Kirillov dimensions of various algebras of interest, including the (quantized) Weyl algebras, ambiskew polynomial rings, noetherian (generalized) down-up algebras, iterated Ore extensions, quantum Heisenberg algebras, universal enveloping algebras of Lie algebras, quantum GWAs, etc.

Am. Math. Soc.,1956,82:246-269]中一个结果的简洁证明.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to prove that some vector subspaces, called p-subspaces, obtained from the Peirce decomposition of a Bernstein algebra A relative to an idempotent have dimensions which are independent of the idempotent used to decompose A. In particular, for Bernstein-Jordan algebras, this fact is true for every such subspace and this implies that all p-subspaces of a Bernstein algebra, contained in V, for A = Ke + U + V, have invariant dimension. Finally we classify all p-subspaces of degree ≥ 3, contained in U, in a Bernstein algebra A, relative to the invariance (or not) of dimension.  相似文献

We prove that, for every natural number n, there exists a unital semisimple Banach star algebra Aand a closed star subalgebra Bof the centre of A, different from C, such that the global B-homological dimension and the B-homological bidimension of Aare both equal to n. The algebras Aand Bcan be taken to be function algebras.  相似文献

We study skew inverse power series extensions R[[y − 1; τ, δ]], where R is a noetherian ring equipped with an automorphism τ and a τ-derivation δ. We find that these extensions share many of the well known features of commutative power series rings. As an application of our analysis, we see that the iterated skew inverse power series rings corresponding to nth Weyl algebras are complete, local, noetherian, Auslander regular domains whose right Krull dimension, global dimension, and classical Krull dimension are all equal to 2n.  相似文献

Let A and B be graph algebras. In this paper we present the notion of an ideal in a graph algebra and prove that an ideal extension of A by B always exists. We describe (up to isomorphism) all such extensions.  相似文献

With every finite-dimensional algebra A over any field k we associate an 8-tuple of linear or bilinear forms on A, all of which are defined in terms of traces. For every groupoid 𝒞 formed by a class of k-algebras of fixed finite dimension, this passage is functorial and, when composed with any map that is constant on isoclasses, gives rise to an abundance of maps f: 𝒞 → I such that the fibres of f form a block decomposition of 𝒞. We study this decomposition for specific choices of 𝒞 and f, thereby putting established results from diverse algebraic theories into a unifying perspective, but also gaining new insight into classical groupoids of algebras such as associative unital algebras, division algebras, or composition algebras over general ground fields.  相似文献

Acyclic monounary algebras are characterized by the property that any compatible partial order r can be extended to a compatible linear order. In the case of rooted monounary algebras A=(A,f){\cal A}=(A,f) we characterize the intersection of compatible linear extensions of r by several equivalent conditions and generalize these results to compatible quasiorders of A{\cal A}. We show that the lattice QuordA{\rm{Quord}}{\cal A} of compatible quasiorders is a disjoint union of semi-intervals whose maximal elements equal the intersection of their compatible quasilinear extensions. We also investigate algebraic properties of the lattices QuordA{\rm{Quord}}{\cal A} and ConA{\rm{Con}}{\cal A}.  相似文献

A 5-term exact sequence and the interpretation of low dimensional groups of homology with trivial coefficients of algebras with bracket are obtained. The endofunctor in the category of algebras with bracket which assigns to a perfect algebra with bracket its universal central extension is constructed and the characterization of the universal central extension by means of the low-dimensional homology groups is done. The conditions required to lift an automorphism or a derivation of A to A′ in a covering f:A′ ? A are analyzed.  相似文献

In the paper, we introduce a wide class of domestic finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field which are obtained from the hereditary algebras of Euclidean type , n≥1, by iterated one-point extensions by two-ray modules. We prove that these algebras are domestic and their Auslander-Reiten quivers admit infinitely many nonperiodic connected components with infinitely many orbits with respect to the action of the Auslander-Reiten translation. Moreover, we exhibit a wide class of almost sincere domestic simply connected algebras of large global dimensions.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that under some natural conditions, the Ore extensions and skew Laurent polynomial rings are injectively homogeneous or homologically homogeneous if so are their coefficient rings. Specifically, we prove that ifR is a commutative Noetherian ring of positive characteristic, thenA n (R), then th Weyl algebra overR, is injectively homogeneous (resp. homologically homogeneous) ifR has finite injective dimension (resp. global dimension).  相似文献

In this note we show that for a *n-module, in particular, an almost n-tilting module, P over a ring R with A = EndR P such that P A has finite flat dimension, the upper bound of the global dimension of A can be estimated by the global dimension of R and hence generalize the corresponding results in tilting theory and the ones in the theory of *-modules. As an application, we show that for a finitely generated projective module over a VN regular ring R, the global dimension of its endomorphism ring is not more than the global dimension of R.  相似文献

In this paper, we define HNN extensions for Lie algebras. Given a Lie algebraL with a subalgebraA and a derivationd:AL, the HNN extension containsL andd extends to an inner derivation of it. We then use it to prove some results analogous to results in group theory.  相似文献

A ring extension AB is depth two if its tensor-square satisfies a projectivity condition w.r.t. the bimodules A A B and B A A . In this case the structures (A ? B A) B and End  B A B are bialgebroids over the centralizer C A (B) and there is a certain Galois theory associated to the extension and its endomorphism ring. We specialize the notion of depth two to induced representations of semisimple algebras and character theory of finite groups. We show that depth two subgroups over the complex numbers are normal subgroups. As a converse, we observe that normal Hopf subalgebras over a field are depth two extensions. A generalized Miyashita–Ulbrich action on the centralizer of a ring extension is introduced, and applied to a study of depth two and separable extensions, which yields new characterizations of separable and H-separable extensions. With a view to the problem of when separable extensions are Frobenius, we supply a trace ideal condition for when a ring extension is Frobenius.  相似文献

We introduce and study the notion of essential dimension for linear algebraic groups defined over an algebraically closed fields of characteristic zero. The essential dimension is a numerical invariant of the group; it is often equal to the minimal number of independent parameters required to describe all algebraic objects of a certain type. For example, if our groupG isS n , these objects are field extensions; ifG=O n , they are quadratic forms; ifG=PGL n , they are division algebras (all of degreen); ifG=G 2, they are octonion algebras; ifG=F 4, they are exceptional Jordan algebras. We develop a general theory, then compute or estimate the essential dimension for a number of specific groups, including all of the above-mentioned examples. In the last section we give an exposition of results, communicated to us by J.-P. Serre, relating essential dimension to Galois cohomology.Partially supported by NSA grant MDA904-9610022 and NSF grant DMS-9801675  相似文献

Let A be a commutative ring and E a nonzero A-module. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the trivial ring extension R of A by E to be either arithmetical or Gaussian. The possibility for R to be Bézout is also studied, but a response is only given in the case where pSpec(A) (a quotient space of Spec(A)) is totally disconnected. Trivial ring extensions which are fqp-rings are characterized only in the local case. To get a general result we intoduce the class of fqf-rings satisfying a weaker property than fqp-ring. Moreover, it is proven that the finitistic weak dimension of a fqf-ring is 0, 1 or 2 and its global weak dimension is 0, 1, or ∞.  相似文献

Let Gbe a real connected semisimple real Lie group and let be Aa connected reductive subgroupg, athe complexified Lie algebras of Gand A respectively; assume (g,a) is a regular pair.In this paper we study general properties of (g, A)-modules, and we prove for two particular cases that every admissible (g, A)-module with an infinitesimal character has finite length. We also compute Gelfand-Kiriilov dimensions for some modules and a number (Vogan's dimension) related to it.Finally we construct a virtual (g,A)-module with“minimal”Vogan's dimension.  相似文献

This article is concerned with the dimension theory of tensor products of algebras over a field k. In fact, we provide formulas for the Krull and valuative dimension of A? k B when A and B are k-algebras such that the polynomial ring A[n] is an AF-domain for some positive integer n. Also, we compute dim v (A? k B) in the case where A ? B.  相似文献
