This paper gives a characteristic property of the Euler characteristic for IBN rings. The following results: are proved. (1) If R is a commutative ring, M, N are two stable free R-modules, then χ(MN)=χ(M)χ(N), where χ denotes the Euler characteristic. (2) If f: K_0(R)→Z is a ring isomorphism, where K_0(R) denotes the Grothendieck group of R, K_0(R) is a ring when R is commutative, then f([M])=χ(M) and χ(MN)=χ(M)χ(N) when M, N are finitely generated projective R-modules, where.the isomorphism class [M] is a generator of K_0(R). In addition, some applications of the results above are also obtained.  相似文献

Let R be a Gorenstein ring.We prove that if I is an ideal of R such that R/I is a semi-simple ring,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of R/I as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of R/I as a left R-module are identical.In addition,we prove that if R→S is a homomorphism of rings and SE is an injective cogenerator for the category of left S-modules,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of S as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of E as a left R-module are identical.We also give some applications of these results.  相似文献

Let R → S be a ring homomorphism and X be a complex of R-modules. Then the complex of S-modules S?_R~L X in the derived category D(S) is constructed in the natural way. This paper is devoted to dealing with the relationships of the Gorenstein projective dimension of an R-complex X(possibly unbounded) with those of the S-complex S?_R~L X.It is shown that if R is a Noetherian ring of finite Krull dimension and φ : R → S is a faithfully flat ring homomorphism, then for any homologically degree-wise finite complex X, there is an equality Gpd_RX = GpdS(S?_R~L X). Similar result is obtained for Ding projective dimension of the S-complex S?_R~L X.  相似文献

Let R and S be a left coherent ring and a right coherent ring respectively,RωS be a faithfully balanced self-orthogonal bimodule.We give a sufficient condition to show that l.FP-idR(ω) ∞ implies G-dimω(M) ∞,where M ∈ modR.This result generalizes the result by Huang and Tang about the relationship between the FP-injective dimension and the generalized Gorenstein dimension in 2001.In addition,we get that the left orthogonal dimension is equal to the generalized Gorenstein dimension when G-dimω(M) is finite.  相似文献

We establish relations between Frobenius parts and between flat-dominant dimensions of algebras linked by Frobenius bimodules.This is motivated by the Nakayama conjecture and an approach of MartinezVilla to the Auslander-Reiten conjecture on stable equivalences.We show that the Frobenius parts of Frobenius extensions are again Frobenius extensions.Furthermore,let A and B be finite-dimensional algebras over a field k,and let domdim(_AX)stand for the dominant dimension of an A-module X.If_BM_A is a Frobenius bimodule,then domdim(A)domdim(_BM)and domdim(B)domdim(_AHom_B(M,B)).In particular,if B■A is a left-split(or right-split)Frobenius extension,then domdim(A)=domdim(B).These results are applied to calculate flat-dominant dimensions of a number of algebras:shew group algebras,stably equivalent algebras,trivial extensions and Markov extensions.We also prove that the universal(quantised)enveloping algebras of semisimple Lie algebras are QF-3 rings in the sense of Morita.  相似文献

Let a be an ideal of a commutative Noetherian ring R and M be a finitely generated R-module of dimension d. We characterize Cohen-Macaulay rings in term of a special homological dimension. Lastly, we prove that if R is a complete local ring, then the Matlis dual of top local cohomology module Ha^d(M) is a Cohen-Macaulay R-module provided that the R-module M satisfies some conditions.  相似文献

Let A be a(left and right) Noetherian ring that is semiperfect. Let e be an idempotent of A and consider the ring Γ :=(1-e)A(1-e) and the semi-simple right A-module Se := e A/e rad A. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the global dimensions of A and Γ, by using the homological properties of Se. More precisely, we consider the Yoneda ring Y(e) := Ext_A~*(Se, Se) of e. We prove that if Y(e) is Artinian of finite global dimension, then A has finite global dimension if and only if so does Γ. We also investigate the situation where both A and Γ have finite global dimension. When A is Koszul and finite dimensional, this implies that Y(e) has finite global dimension. We end the paper with a reduction technique to compute the Cartan determinant of Artin algebras. We prove that if Y(e) has finite global dimension, then the Cartan determinants of A and Γ coincide. This provides a new way to approach the long-standing Cartan determinant conjecture.  相似文献

A vertex x in a graph G strongly resolves a pair of vertices v, w if there exists a shortest x-w path containing v or a shortest x-v path containing w in G. A set of vertices S■V(G) is a strong resolving set of G if every pair of distinct vertices of G is strongly resolved by some vertex in S. The strong metric dimension of G, denoted by sdim(G), is the minimum cardinality over all strong resolving sets of G. For a connected graph G of order n≥2, we characterize G such that sdim(G) equals 1, n-1, or n-2, respectively. We give a Nordhaus-Gaddum-type result for the strong metric dimension of a graph and its complement: for a graph G and its complement G, each of order n≥4 and connected, we show that 2≤sdim(G)+sdim(G)≤2( n-2). It is readily seen that sdim(G)+sdim(G)=2 if and only if n=4; we show that, when G is a tree or a unicyclic graph, sdim(G)+sdim(G)=2(n 2) if and only if n=5 and G ~=G ~=C5, the cycle on five vertices. For connected graphs G and G of order n≥5, we show that 3≤sdim(G)+sdim(G)≤2(n-3) if G is a tree; we also show that 4≤sdim(G)+sdim(G)≤2(n-3) if G is a unicyclic graph of order n≥6. Furthermore, we characterize graphs G satisfying sdim(G)+sdim(G)=2(n-3) when G is a tree or a unicyclic graph.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and S a cancellative and torsion-free monoid and 〈 a strict order on S. If either (S,≤) satisfies the condition that 0 ≤ s for all s ∈ S, or R is reduced, then the ring [[R^S,≤]] of the generalized power series with coefficients in R and exponents in S has the same triangulating dimension as R. 设R■A是环的Frobenius扩张,其中A是右凝聚环,M是任意左A-模.首先证明了_AM是Gorenstein平坦模当且仅当M作为左R-模也是Gorenstein平坦模.其次,证明了Nakayama和Tsuzuku关于平坦维数沿着Frobenius扩张的传递性定理的"Gorenstein版本":若_AM具有有限Gorenstein平坦维数,则Gfd_A(M)=Gfd_R(M).此外,证明了若R■S是可分Frobenius扩张,则任意A-模(不一定具有有限Gorenstein平坦维数),其Gorenstein平坦维数沿着该环扩张是不变的.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R and a faithfully flat R-algebra S we prove,under mild extra assumptions,that an R-module M is Gorenstein flat if and only if the left S-module S?_R M is Gorenstein flat,and that an R-module N is Gorenstein injective if and only if it is cotorsion and the left S-module Hom R(S,N)is Gorenstein injective.We apply these results to the study of Gorenstein homological dimensions of unbounded complexes.In particular,we prove two theorems on stability of these dimensions under faithfully flat (co-)base change.  相似文献

Let R be any ring. A right R-module M is called n-copure projective if Ext1(M, N) = 0 for any right R-module N with fd(N) ≤ n, and M is said to be strongly copure projective if Ext i (M, F) = 0 for all flat right R-modules F and all i ≥ 1. In this article, firstly, we present some general properties of n-copure projective modules and strongly copure projective modules. Then we define and investigate copure projective dimensions of modules and rings. Finally, more properties and applications of n-copure projective modules, strongly copure projective modules and copure projective dimensions are given over coherent rings with finite self-FP-injective dimension.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, we introduce the notion of M-coidempotent elements of a ring and investigate their connections with fully coidempotent modules, fully copure modules and vn-regular modules where M is a module. We prove that if M is a finitely cogenerated module, then M is fully copure if and only if M is semisimple. We prove that if M is a Noetherian module or M is a finitely cogenerated module, then M is fully coidempotent if and only if M is a vn-regular module. Finally, we give a characterization of semisimple Artinian modules via weak idempotents.  相似文献

研究了环扩张下的Gorenstein平坦模型结构及其同伦范畴,设R≤S是满足一些条件的平坦扩张.我们证明了若f:M→N在S-模范畴的Gorenstein平坦模型结构中是上纤维化(纤维化,弱等价),则f:M→N在R-模范畴中亦如此;若R≤S是优越扩张,反过来也成立,即在优越扩张下Gorenstein平坦模型结构是不变的.进而,相关的稳定范畴是等价的,当且仅当对任意Gorenstein平坦S-模M,Coker(ηM)是平坦的,其中η表示S-模范畴和R-模范畴间的Quillen伴随函子的单位.  相似文献
