Let R be any ring (with 1), Γ a group and RΓ the corresponding group ring. Let H be a subgroup of Γ of finite index. Let M be an RΓ-module, whose restriction to RH is projective.Moore's conjecture (J. Pure Appl. Algebra 7(1976)287): Assume for every nontrivial element x in Γ, at least one of the following two conditions holds:
(M1)
x〉∩H≠{e} (in particular this holds if Γ is torsion free)
(M2)
ord(x) is finite and invertible in R.
Then M is projective as an RΓ-module.More generally, the conjecture has been formulated for crossed products R*Γ and even for strongly graded rings R(Γ). We prove the conjecture for new families of groups, in particular for groups whose profinite completion is torsion free.The conjecture can be formulated for profinite modules M over complete groups rings [[RΓ]] where R is a profinite ring and Γ a profinite group. We prove the conjecture for arbitrary profinite groups. This implies Serre's theorem on cohomological dimension of profinite groups.  相似文献

Let Γ be a finitely generated non-elementary Fuchsian group, and let μ be a probability measure with finite support on Γ such that supp μ generates Γ as a semigroup. If Γ contains no parabolic elements we show that for all but a small number of co-compact Γ, the Martin boundaryM of the random walk on Γ with distribution μ can be identified with the limit set Λ of Γ. If Γ has cusps, we prove that Γ can be deformed into a group Γ', abstractly isomorphic to Γ, such thatM can be identified with Λ', the limit set of Γ'. Our method uses the identification of Λ with a certain set of infinite reduced words in the generators of Γ described in [15]. The harmonic measure ν (ν is the hitting distribution of random paths in Γ on Λ) is a Gibbs measure on this space of infinite words, and the Poisson boundary of Γ, μ can be identified with Λ, ν.  相似文献

Let Γ be a torsion-free cancellative commutative monoid and let R = ?α∈ΓRα be a commutative Γ-graded ring. We show that if R is a graded Noetherian domain, then its integral closure is a graded Krull domain. This is a graded analog of the Mori–Nagata theorem. We also show that for a graded Strong Mori domain, its complete integral closure is a graded Krull domain but its integral closure is not necessarily a graded Krull domain.  相似文献

Let △(φ,ψ) =(A BMA ANBB) be a Morita ring which is an Artin algebra.In this paper we investigate the relations between the Gorenstein-projective modules over a Morita ring △(φ,ψ) and the algebras A and B.We prove that if △(φ,ψ) is a Gorenstein algebra and both MA and AN (resp.,both NB and BM) have finite projective dimension,then A (resp.,B) is a Gorenstein algebra.We also discuss when the CM-freeness and the CM-finiteness of a Morita ring △(φ,ψ) is inherited by the algebras A and B.  相似文献

A Cayley graph Γ=Cay(G,S)is said to be normal if G is normal in Aut Γ.In this paper,we investigate the normality problem of the connected 11-valent symmetric Cayley graphs Γ of finite nonabelian simple groups G,where the vertex stabilizer Av is soluble for A=Aut Γ and v ∈ VΓ.We prove that either Γ is normal or G=A5,A10,A54,A274,A549 or A1099.Further,11-valent symmetric nonnormal Cayley graphs of A5,A54 and A274 are constructed.This provides some more examples of nonnormal 11-valent symmetric Cayley graphs of finite nonabelian simple groups after the first graph of this kind(of valency 11)was constructed by Fang,Ma and Wang in 2011.  相似文献

Let Γ be a subgroup of finite index of Siegels modular group Γg = Sp(g,Z) and Y(Γ) a proper modification of the Satake compactification (Sg/Γ)* of Siegels modular space Sg/Γ of degree g≧2. It will be shown that Y(Γ) is simply connected for all principal congruence subgroups Γ = Γg(λ). Moreover the fundamental group of Y is always finite. These results are based on J. Mennickes work showing that Γg(λ) is the normal hull in Γg of a single matrix μg(λ). Secondly it will be proved that for g=2,3 and λ≧3 this fact is even equivalent to the simply connectedness of any desingularisation of (Sg/Γg(λ)).  相似文献

Let Abe an artin algebra. Let Γ be a component of the Auslander-Reiten Quiver Γ A and Γ contain no oriented cycle. If Γ is stable or semi-stable, then the structure of Γ is known. Here, we are going to consider general component which may contain both injective vertices and projective vertices at the same time. We will show that Γ can be embedded in some Δ with Δ isomorphic to a section of Γ if and only if every possible path from an injective vertex to a projective vertex is sectional. This result generalizes part of Zhang’s theorem and the corresponding part of Liu’s theorem.  相似文献

Let Γ be a finite multigraph; we denote by χ(Γ, x, y) the dichromatic polynominal of Γ, as defined by W. T. Tutte in 1953. We prove that, for any planar multigraph Γ with m edges, χ(Γ, ?1, ?1) = (?1)m · (?2)k, where 0 ≤ k ≤ m2. Furthermore, if Γ is connected, s = k ? 1 turns out to be a pertinent invariant of the medial of Γ.  相似文献

Abstract

Let A be a basic connected finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field. We show that if Γ is an infinite connected component of the Auslander-Reiten quiver ΓA of A in which each ΓA-orbit contains only finitely many vertices, then the number of indecomposable direct summands of the middle term of any mesh, whose starting vertex belongs to the infinite stable part of Γ, is less than or equal to 3. Moreover, if the nonstable vertices belong to τA-orbits of exceptional projectives in Γ, then Γ can be obtained from a stable tube by a finite number of multiple coray-ray insertions of type α?γ and multiple coray-ray insertions of type α?γ.  相似文献

A nonempty simple connected graph G is called a uniquely determined graph, if distinct vertices of G have distinct neighborhoods. We prove that if R is a commutative ring, then Γ(R) is uniquely determined if and only if either R is a Boolean ring or T(R) is a local ring with x2 = 0 for any x ∈ Z(R), where T(R) is the total quotient ring of R. We determine all the corresponding rings with characteristic p for any finite complete graph, and in particular, give all the corresponding rings of Kn if n + 1 = pq for some primes p, q. Finally, we show that a graph G with more than two vertices has a unique corresponding zero-divisor semigroup if G is a zero-divisor graph of some Boolean ring.  相似文献

Let D be an integral domain, Γ be a torsion-free grading monoid with quotient group G, and D[Γ] be the semigroup ring of Γ over D. We show that if G is of type (0, 0, 0,…), then D[Γ] is a weakly factorial domain if and only if D is a weakly factorial GCD-domain and Γ is a weakly factorial GCD-semigroup. Let ? be the field of real numbers and Γ be the additive semigroup of nonnegative rational numbers. We also show that Γ is a weakly factorial GCD-semigroup, but ?[Γ] is not a weakly factorial domain.  相似文献

The category of left modules over right coherent rings of finite weak global dimension has several nice features. For example, every left module over such a ring has a flat cover (Belshoff, Enochs, Xu) and, if the weak global dimension is at most two, every left module has a flat envelope (Asensio, Martínez). We will exploit these features of this category to study its objects. In particular, we will consider orthogonal complements (relative to the extension functor) of several classes of modules in this category. In the case of a commutative ring we describe an idempotent radical on its category of modules which, when the weak global dimension does not exceed 2, can be used to analyze the structure of the flat envelopes and of the ring itself.

In case G is a finite group, there is a well-known criterion for projective modules: A ? G-module M is projective if and only if it is ? -free and has finite projective dimension. We first investigate whether only finite groups satisfy the above criterion. In the class of groups L H 𝔉, we conclude that this is true. Secondly, we consider the problem when a stably flat Γ-module is projective, where Γ is an arbitrary group. We show that if Γ is an L H 𝔉-group, then every stably flat cofibrant ? Let (G, F) be a fibered group and let Γ be a semigroup of endomorphisms of G such that {id.}? Γ and σ(A) ? A for σ ∈Γ, A ∈F. In this paper we investigate the structure of fibered groups (G, F, Γ) which have a non-trivial center. We start with general considerations and conclude with the construction of a large class of examples. In the situation in which Γ ≠{id.} much structure can be obtained.
