On existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to periodic boundary value problems for singular nonlinear second order differential equations

The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions are established to periodic boundary value problems for singular nonlinear second order ordinary differential equations. The arguments are based only upon the positivity of the Green's functions and the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem. As an example, a periodic boundary value problem is also considered which comes from the theory of nonlinear elasticity.

A note on the use of modified Adomian decomposition method for solving singular boundary value problems of higher-order ordinary differential equations

This paper extend the work [Yahya Qaid Hasan, Liu Ming Zhu. Solving singular boundary value problems of higher-order ordinary differential equations by modified Adomian decomposition method. Commun Nonlinear Sci Numer Simul. doi :10.1016/j.cnsns.2008.09.027] to high order of singular boundary value problems. Solution of these problems is considered by proposed modification of Adomian decomposition method. The proposed method can be applied to linear and nonlinear problems. Some examples are presented to show the ability of the method for linear and non-linear ordinary differential equation.

Defining systems and Newton-like methods for finding singular solutions to nonlinear boundary value problems

A technique proposed earlier for constructing defining systems, which are a means for finding singular solutions to nonlinear equations, and the Newton-like methods based on this technique are now analyzed from the point of view of their stability with respect to perturbations in the operator of the equation. The results obtained make it possible to extend this approach to nonlinear boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations.

Schwarz problem for higher‐order complex partial differential equations in the upper half plane

Linear and nonlinear elliptic complex partial differential equations of higher‐order are considered under Schwarz conditions in the upper‐half plane. Firstly, using the integral representations for the solutions of the inhomogeneous polyanalytic equation with Schwarz conditions, a class of integral operators is introduced together with some of their properties. Then, these operators are used to transform the problem for linear equations into singular integral equations. In the case of nonlinear equations such a transformation yields a system of integro‐differential equations. Existence of the solutions of the relevant boundary value problems for linear and nonlinear equations are discussed via Fredholm theory and fixed point theorems, respectively.

Nontrivial solutions of nonlocal boundary value problems for nonlinear higher-order singular fractional differential equations

This paper deals with the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions of nonlocal boundary value problems for nonlinear higher-order singular fractional differential equations with sign-changing nonlinear term. The main tool used in the proof is topological degree theory. Some examples explain that our results cannot be obtained by the method of cone theory.     

Positive periodic solutions for nonlinear repulsive singular difference equations

The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions are established to the periodic boundary value problems for repulsive singular nonlinear difference equations. The proof relies on a nonlinear alternative of Leray–Schauder type and on Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem on compression and expansion of cones.
