The Characterization of Finite Simple Groups, L3（3^2m-1）（m≥2）, by Their Element Orders

In this paper the following theorem is proved： Every group L3（q） for q = 3^（2m-1）（m≥2） is characterized by its set of element orders.     

Basic Results of Gabor Frame on Local Fields

Basic facts for Gabor frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p on local field are investigated. Accurately, that the canonical dual of frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p also has the Gabor structure is showed; that the product ab decides whether it is possible for {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p to be a frame for L2(K) is discussed; some necessary conditions and two sufficient conditions of Gabor frame for L2(K) are established. An example is finally given.     

Multiple solutions of sublinear Lane-Emden elliptic equations

We study the sublinear elliptic equation, −Δ u = |u|^psgn u + f(x,u) in the bounded domain Ω under the zero Dirichlet boundary condition. We suppose that 0 < p < 1 and |f(x,u)| is small enough near u = 0 and do not suppose that f(x,u) is odd on u. Then we prove that this problem has infinitely many solutions. EXPECTED DISCOUNTED PENALTY FUNCTION AT RUIN FOR RISK PROCESS PERTURBED BY DIFFUSION UNDER INTEREST FORCE

In this article, the risk process perturbed by diffusion under interest force is considered, the continuity and twice continuous differentiability for Фδ（u,w） are discussed,the Feller expression and the integro-differential equation satisfied by Фδ （u ,w） are derived. Finally, the decomposition of Фδ（u,w） is discussed, and some properties of each decomposed part of Фδ（u,w） are obtained. The results can be reduced to some ones in Gerber and Landry＇s,Tsai and Willmot＇s, and Wang＇s works by letting parameter δ and （or） a be zero.     

Recognition of finite simple groupsL 3(2 m ) ANDU 3(2 m ) by their element orders

It is proved that a finite group isomorphic to a simple non-Abelian group L₃(2^m) or U₃(2^m) is, up to isomorphism, recognizable by a set of its element orders. On the other hand, for every simple group S=S₄(2^m), there exist infinitely many pairwise non-isomorphic groups G with w(G)=w(S). As a consequence, we present a list of all recognizable finite simple groups G, for which 4t ∉ ω(G) with t>1. Solutions and Multiple Solutions for p（x）-Laplacian Equations with Nonlinear Boundary Condition

The authors study the p（x）-Laplacian equations with nonlinear boundary condition. By using the variational method, under appropriate assumptions on the perturbation terms f1 （x, u）, f2（x, u） and h1（x）, h2（x）, such that the associated functional satisfies the ＂mountain pass lemma＂ and ＂fountain theorem＂ respectively, the existence and multiplicity of solutions are obtained. The discussion is based on the theory of variable exponent Lebesgue and Sobolev spaces.     

Asymptotic Behaviors of the Solutions to Scalar Viscous Conservation Laws on Bounded Interval

Abstract This paper concerns the asymptotic behaviors of the solutions to the initial-boundary value prob-lem for scalar viscous conservations laws u_t+f(u)_x=u_(xx) on[0,1],with the boundary condition u(0,t) =u_,u(1,t)=u_+ and the initial data u(x,0)=u_0(x,0)=u_0(x),where u_≠u_+ and f is a given function satisfyingf'(u)>0 for u under consideration.By means of energy estimates method and under some more regular condi-tions on the initial data,both the global existence and the asymptotic behavior are obtained.When u_u_+, which corresponds to shock waves in inviscid conservation laws, it is established for weak shockwaves,which means that │u_-u_+│is small.Moreover,exponential decay rates are both given.     

Stochastic comparison and preservation of positive correlations for Lévy-type processes

The stochastic comparison and preservation of positive correlations for Levy-type processes on R^d are studied under the condition that Levy measure v satisfies f{0〈｜z｜≤1）｜z｜｜v（x, dz） - v（x, d（-z））｜ 〈 ∞, x∈ R^d, while the sufficient conditions and necessary ones for them are obtained. In some cases the conditions for stochastic comparison are not only sufficient but also necessary.     

Remarks on bifurcations ofu + μu − u k=0 (4≤kεZ +)

In this paper, we investigate the bifurcations of one class of steady-state reaction-diffusion equations of the formu″ + μu − u ^k=0, subjectu(0)=u(π)=0, where μ is a parameter, 4≤kεZ ⁺. Using the singularity theory based on the Liapunov-Schmidt reduction, some satisfactory results are obtained. A note on Sobolev orthogonality for Laguerre matrix polynomials

Let {Ln(A,λ)(x)}n≥0 be the sequence of monic Laguerre matrix polynomials defined on [0, ∞) by Ln(A,λ)(x)=n!/(-λ)n∑nk=0(-λ)κ/k!(n-1)! (A I)n[(A I)k]-1 xk,where A ∈ Cr×r. It is known that {Ln(A,λ)(x)}n≥0 is orthogonal with respect to a matrix moment functional when A satisfies the spectral condition that Re(z) ＞ - 1 for every z ∈σ(A).In this note we show that forA such that σ(A) does not contain negative integers, the Laguerre matrix polynomials Ln(A,λ) (x) are orthogonal with respect to a non-diagonal SobolevLaguerre matrix moment functional, which extends two cases: the above matrix case and the known scalar case.     

环域上一类拟线性椭圆型方程的正径向解的存在性

The existence of positive radial solutions of the equation -din( |Du|p-2Du)=f(u) is studied in annular domains in Rn,n≥2. It is proved that if f(0)≥0, f is somewherenegative in (0,∞), limu→0^ f‘ (u)=0 and limu→∞ (f(u)/u^p-1)=∞, then there is alarge positive radial solution on all annuli. If f(0)≤0 and satisfies certain conditions, then the equation has no radial solution if the annuli are too wide.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript> and <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript>∞</Superscript> norm estimates of the cost of the controllability for heat equations

This paper is concerned with the bound of the cost of approximate controllability and null controllability of heat equations, i.e., the minimal Lp norm and L∞ norm of a control needed to control the system approximately or a control needed to steer the state of the system to zero. The methods we use combine observability inequalities, energy estimates for heat equations and the dual theory.     

Groupoid structure of Toeplitz algebra over L-shaped domain

The structure of the groupoidG associated with the ToeplitzC ^*-algebraC ^*(Ω) of the L-shaped domain is discussed. The detailed characterization ofM _∞ by the classification of the closed subgroup of the Euclidean space is presented. Multiple Solutions and Its Morse Index for One-Dimensional Nonlinear Problem

The multiple solutions for one-dimensional cubic nonlinear problem u" u~3=0,u(0)=u(π)=0are computed,on the basis of the eigenpairs of-φ"_k=λ_(kφk),k=1,2,3....There exist two nonzero solutions±u_k corresponding to each k,and their Morse index MI(k) for 1(?)k(?)20 is to be exactly determined.It isshown by the numerical results that MI(k)(?)k.     

Representations of deformed preprojective algebras and quantum groups

Let (Γ,I) be the bound quiver of a cyclic quiver whose vertices correspond to the Abelian group Zd. In this paper, we list all indecomposable representations of (Γ,I) and give the conditions that those representations of them can be extended to representations of deformed preprojective algebra Πλ(Γ,I). It is shown that those representations given by extending indecomposable representations of (Γ,I) are all simple representations of Πλ(Γ,I). Therefore, it is concluded that all simple representa-tions of rest...     

The Bass-Quillen problem on a class of local rings with weak global dimension two

Let (R,m) be a local GCD domain. R is called a U2 ring if there is an element u ∈ m-m2 such that R/(u) is a valuation domain and Ru is a B′ezout domain. In this case u is called a normal element of R. In this paper we prove that if R is a U2 ring, then R and R[x] are coherent; moreover, if R has a normal element u and dim(R/(u)) = 1, then every finitely generated projective module over R[X] is free.     

Regularity of viscosity solutions near KAM torus

In this paper, we give weak regularity theorems on P of u~ε(x, P), where u~ε(x, P)is the viscosity solution of the cell problem H_ε(P D_xu~ε, x)=H_ε(P).     

Weighted estimates for commutators of singular integral operators with non-doubling measures

Letμbe a nonnegative Radon measure on R~d which only satisfiesμ(B(x,r))≤C_0r~n for all x∈R~d,r>0,and some fixed constants C_0>0 and n∈(0,d].In this paper,some weighted weak type estimates with A_(p,(log L)~σ)~ρ(μ) weights are established for the commutators generated by Calder■n-Zygmund singular integral operators with RBMO(μ) functions.     

Remark on the Regularities of Kato’s Solutions to Navier-Stokes Equations with Initial Data in L^d(R^d)

Motivated by the results of J. Y. Chemin in ＂J. Anal. Math., 77, 1999, 27- 50＂ and G. Furioli et al in ＂Revista Mat. Iberoamer., 16, 2002, 605-667＂, the author considers further regularities of the mild solutions to Navier-Stokes equation with initial data uo ∈ L^d（R^d）. In particular, it is proved that if u C ∈（[0, T^＊）; L^d（R^d）） is a mild solution of （NSv）, then u（t,x）- e^vt△uo ∈ L^∞（（0, T）;B2/4^1,∞）~∩L^1 （（0, T）; B2/4^3 ,∞） for any T 〈 T^＊.     

Recognizability of finite simple groups <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript>4</Subscript>(2<Superscript>m</Superscript>) and <Emphasis Type="Italic">U</Emphasis><Subscript>4</Subscript>(2<Superscript>m</Superscript>) by spectrum

It is proved that finite simple groups L₄(2^m), m ⩾ 2, and U₄(2^m), m ⩾ 2, are, up to isomorphism, recognized by spectra, i.e., sets of their element orders, in the class of finite groups. As a consequence the question on recognizability by spectrum is settled for all finite simple groups without elements of order 8.
