Various types of conical approximation of sets are discussed. The notions of an external cone and an internal cone result in a strengthened separation theorem. In this paper, we prove equality expression for the contingent cone and the strict normal cone to a set determined by equality and/or inequality constraints at a Fréchet differentiable point. A similar result has appeared before in the literature under the assumption that all the constraint functions are of classC or under the assumption that the functions are strictly differentiable at the point in question. Our result has applications to the calculation of various kinds of tangent cones and normal cones.This research was supported, in part by the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada under Grant No. OGP-41983.The authors would like to thank D. In this article, we study the second-order optimality conditions for a class of circular conic optimization problem. First, the explicit expressions of the tangent cone and the second-order tangent set for a given circular cone are derived. Then, we establish the closed-form formulation of critical cone and calculate the “sigma” term of the aforementioned optimization problem. At last, in light of tools of variational analysis, we present the associated no gap second-order optimality conditions. Compared to analogous results in the literature, our approach is intuitive and straightforward, which can be manipulated and verified. An example is illustrated to this end.  相似文献

This method centers around tangent cones which are isotone with respect to inclusion. It is well known that second-order cone (SOC) programming can be regarded as a special case of positive semidefinite programming using the arrow matrix. This paper further studies the relationship between SOCs and positive semidefinite matrix cones. In particular, we explore the relationship to expressions regarding distance, projection, tangent cone, normal cone and the KKT system. Understanding these relationships will help us see the connection and difference between the SOC and its PSD reformulation more clearly.  相似文献

We prove that the planar components of the tangent cone of a complex analytic surface at a point correspond to the base points of hyperplane sections by the Nash modification. A set-valued mapping M from a topological vector space E into a normed vector space F is tangentially regular at a point in its graph g p h M if the Clarke tangent cone to g p h M at is equal to the Bouligand contingent cone to g p h M at . In this paper we characterize, in several cases, this tangential regularity as the directional regularity of the scalar function M defined by M (x, y) : = d(y, M(x)).
