Multiplication operators on sobolev disk algebra

In this paper,we study the algebra consisting of analytic functions in the Sobolev space W~(2,2) (D) (D is the unit disk),called the Sobolev disk algebra,explore the properties of the multiplication operators M_f on it and give the characterization of the corn- mutant algebra A′(M_f) of M_f.We show that A′(M_f) is commutative if and only if M_f~* is a Cowen-Douglas operator of index 1.     

Radial Operators on the Weighted Bergman Spaces over the Polydisk

In this paper, we study radial operators in Toeplitz algebra on the weighted Bergman spaces over the polydisk by the(m, λ)-Berezin transform and find that a radial operator can be approximated in norm by Toeplitz operators without any conditions. We prove that the compactness of a radial operator is equivalent to the property of vanishing of its(0, λ)-Berezin transform on the boundary. In addition, we show that an operator S is radial if and only if its(m, λ)-Berezin transform is a separately radial function.     

On the supercyclicity and hypercyclicity of the operator algebra

Let B（X） be the operator algebra for a separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space H, endowed with the strong operator topology or ＊-strong topology. We give sufficient conditions for a continuous linear mapping L ： B（X） →B（X） to be supercyclic or ,-supercyclic. In particular our condition implies the existence of an infinite dimensional subspace of supercyclic vectors for a mapping T on H. Hypercyclicity of the operator algebra with strong operator topology was studied＇ by Chan and here we obtain an analogous result in the case of ＊-strong operator topology.     

Algebraic properties of dual Toeplitz operators on the orthogonal complement of the Dirichlet space

In this paper we investigate some algebra properties of dual Toeplitz operators on the orthogonal complement of the Dirichlet space in the Sobolev space. We completely characterize commuting dual Toeplitz operators with harmonic symbols, and show that a dual Toeplitz operator commutes with a nonconstant analytic dual Toeplitz operator if and only if its symbol is analytic. We also obtain the sufficient and necessary conditions on the harmonic symbols for SφSφψ= Sφψ.     

A subclass of Ockham algebras

Here we introduce a subclass of the class of Ockham algebras ( L ; f ) for which L satisfies the property that for every x ∈ L , there exists n ≥ 0 such that fn ( x ) and fn+1 ( x ) are complementary. We characterize the structure of the lattice of congruences on such an algebra ( L ; f ). We show that the lattice of compact congruences on L is a dual Stone lattice, and in particular, that the lattice Con L of congruences on L is boolean if and only if L is finite boolean. We also show that L is congruence coherent if and only if it is boolean. Finally, we give a sufficient and necessary condition to have the subdirectly irreducible chains.     

Additive preservers of Drazin invertible operators with bounded index

Let B(X) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on an infinite-dimensional complex or real Banach space X. Given an integer n ≥ 1, we show that an additive surjective map Φ on B(X)preserves Drazin invertible operators of index non-greater than n in both directions if and only if Φ is either of the form Φ(T) = αATA~(-1) or of the form Φ(T) = αBT~*B~(-1) where α is a non-zero scalar,A:X → X and B:X~*→ X are two bounded invertible linear or conjugate linear operators.     

Conformal oscillator representations of orthogonal Lie algebras

The conformal transformations with respect to the metric defining the orthogonal Lie algebra o(n, C)give rise to a one-parameter(c) family of inhomogeneous first-order differential operator representations of the orthogonal Lie algebra o(n + 2, C). Letting these operators act on the space of exponential-polynomial functions that depend on a parametric vector a ∈ Cn, we prove that the space forms an irreducible o(n + 2, C)-module for any c ∈ C if a is not on a certain hypersurface. By partially swapping differential operators and multiplication operators, we obtain more general differential operator representations of o(n+2, C) on the polynomial algebra C in n variables. Moreover, we prove that C forms an infinite-dimensional irreducible weight o(n + 2, C)-module with finite-dimensional weight subspaces if c ∈ Z/2.     

On order-preserving and order-reversing mappings defined on cones of convex functions

In this paper,we first show that for a Banach space X,there is a fully order-reversing mapping T from conv(X)(the cone of all the extended real-valued lower semicontinuous proper convex functions defined on X) onto itself if and only if X is reflexive and linearly isomorphic to its dual X~*.Then we further prove the following generalized Artstein-Avidan-Milman representation theorem:For every fully order-reversing mapping T:conv(X)→conv(X),there exist a linear isomorphism U:X→X~*,x_0~*,φ_0∈X~*,α0 and r_0∈R so that(Tf)(x)=α(Ff)(Ux+x_0~*)+φ_0,x+r_0,■x∈X where T:conv(X)→conv(X~*) is the Fenchel transform.Hence,these resolve two open questions.We also show several representation theorems of fully order-preserving mappings defined on certain cones of convex functions.For example,for every fully order-preserving mapping S:semn(X)→ semn(X),there is a linear isomorphism U:X→ X so that(Sf)(x)=f(Ux),■f∈semn(X),x∈X where semn(X) is the cone of all the lower semicontinuous seminorms on X.     

A characterization of generalized derivations of JSL algebras

Let AlgL be a J-subspace lattice algebra on a Banach space X and M be an operator in AlgL. We prove that if δ : AlgL → B(X) is a linear mapping satisfying δ(AB) = δ(A)B + Aδ(B)for all A, B ∈ AlgL with AMB = 0, then δ is a generalized derivation. This result can be applied to atomic Boolean subspace lattice algebras and pentagon subspace lattice algebras.     

Operators on the orthogonal complement of the Dirichlet space(Ⅱ)

In this paper we first prove that a dual Hankel operator R φ on the orthogonal complement of the Dirichlet space is compact for φ∈ W 1,∞(D),and then that a semicommutator of two Toeplitz operators on the Dirichlet space or two dual Toeplitz operators on the orthogonal complement of the Dirichlet space in Sobolev space is compact.We also prove that a dual Hankel operator R φ with φ∈ W 1,∞(D) is of finite rank if and only if B φ is orthogonal to the Dirichlet space for some finite Blaschke product B,and give ...

Fixed Points of Mappings Satisfying a Weakly Contractive Type Condition

In this paper, we discuss a fixed point theorem for mappings derived by a pair of mappings satisfying weak(k, k/) contractive type condition on the tensor product spaces. Let X and Y be Banach spaces and T_1 : X γ Y → X and T_2: X γ Y → Y be two operators which satisfy weak(k, k/) contractive type condition. Using T_1 and T_2, we construct an operator T on X γ Y and show that T has a unique fixed point in a closed and bounded subset of X γ Y.We derive an iteration scheme converging to this unique fixed point of T. Conversely, using a weakly contractive mapping T, we construct a pair of mappings(T_1, T_2) satisfying weak(k, k/)contractive type condition on X γ Y and from this pair, we also obtain two self mappings S_1 and S_2 on X and Y respectively with unique fixed points.

Norm Transitive Semigroups on Operator Algebra

Let $\mathcal A $ be a semigroup of bounded linear operators on the Banach algebra $B(X)$ for a separable Banach space $X$ . We show the transitivity of $\mathcal A $ with the operator norm topology, implies hypercyclicity with the strong operator topology (SOT) while the converse may not be true. As a consequence, SOT-transitive semigroup of left multiplication operators on $B(X)$ is characterized.
