Backward heat equation with time dependent variable coefficient is severely ill‐posed in the sense of Hadamard, so we need regularization. In this paper, we consider Backward heat equation with time dependent variable coefficient, and by small perturbing, we obtain an approximation problem. We show this approximation problem is well‐posed with small parameter. Also, we show this approximation system converges to the original problem when parameter goes to zero. In this article, we derive the inside–outside duality for two time-harmonic, elastic scattering problems. First, we consider a rigid scattering object inside an isotropic, homogeneous background medium and second, we consider a penetrable, inhomogeneous scattering object inside this background medium. For the first scattering problem, we make use of the particular behavior or certain eigenvalues of the corresponding far field operator to characterize interior Dirichlet eigenvalues of the negative Navier operator. Then we adapt this technique to determine interior transmission eigenvalues that correspond to the second scattering problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a filtering problem where the signal X t satisfies a slightly nonlinear stochastic differential equation and we want to obtain estimates of X t. To this end, we decompose the nonlinearity with two techniques—a deterministic one and a stochastic one—and this leads us to two sequences of estimates which can be computed by solving finite dimensional equations. We want to compare their performances: we solve this problem in most cases if we restrict ourselves to sufficiently small times t and we give conditions which permit to conclude also for larger times  相似文献

In this paper we select two tools of investigation of the classical metric regularity of set-valued mappings, namely the Ioffe criterion and the Ekeland Variational Principle, which we adapt to the study of the directional setting. In this way, we obtain in a unitary manner new necessary and/or sufficient conditions for directional metric regularity. As an application, we establish stability of this property at composition and sum of set-valued mappings. In this process, we introduce directional tangent cones and the associated generalized primal differentiation objects and concepts. Moreover, we underline several links between our main assertions by providing alternative proofs for several results.

In this paper we propose a method to construct probability measures on the space of convex bodies. For this purpose, first, we introduce the notion of thinness of a body. Then we show the existence of a measure with the property that its pushforward by the thinness function is a probability measure of truncated normal distribution. Finally, we improve this method to find a measure satisfying some important properties in geometric measure theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider developmental lines of computer-assisted decision support (with consideration of knowledge-based approaches) for data analysis problems. First, we discuss some situations where it is obviously appropriate to apply computer-assisted decision support in connection with data analysis tasks. Then, a brief historical retrospect is given viewing the development of this area of research and its interfaces to knowledge-based approaches. Against this background we illustrate two prototypes of knowledge-based decision support systems for specific data-analysis problems related to fields of interest of our own. Finally, we indicate possible progress and future activities in this area.  相似文献

We study the long time behavior of the solution to some McKean–Vlasov stochastic differential equation (SDE) driven by a Poisson process. In neuroscience, this SDE models the asymptotic dynamic of the membrane potential of a spiking neuron in a large network. We prove that for a small enough interaction parameter, any solution converges to the unique (in this case) invariant probability measure. To this aim, we first obtain global bounds on the jump rate and derive a Volterra type integral equation satisfied by this rate. We then replace temporary the interaction part of the equation by a deterministic external quantity (we call it the external current). For constant current, we obtain the convergence to the invariant probability measure. Using a perturbation method, we extend this result to more general external currents. Finally, we prove the result for the non-linear McKean–Vlasov equation.  相似文献

In this work we classify the at-point regularities of set-valued mappings into two categories and then we analyze their relationship through several implications and examples. After this theoretical tour, we use the subregularity properties to deduce implicit theorems for set-valued maps. In this paper we describe a variation of the classical permutation decoding algorithm that can be applied to any affine-invariant code with respect to certain type of information sets. In particular, we can apply it to the family of first-order Reed-Muller codes with respect to the information sets introduced in [2]. Using this algorithm we improve considerably the number of errors we can correct in comparison with the known results in this topic.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a heat flow in an inhomogeneous body without internal source. There exists special initial and boundary conditions in this system and we intend to find a convenient coefficient of heat conduction for this body so that body cool off as much as possible after definite time. We consider this problem in a general form as an optimal control problem which coefficient of heat conduction is optimal function. Then we replace this problem by another in which we seek to minimize a linear form over a subset of the product of two measures space defined by linear equalities. In this paper, we consider the partial differential equation of an elastic beam with structural damping by boundary feedback control. First, we prove this closed system is well-posed; then we establish the exponential stability for this elastic system by using a theorem whichbelongs to F. L. In this paper, we study the optimal ergodic control problem with minimum variance for a general class of controlled Markov diffusion processes. To this end, we follow a lexicographical approach. Namely, we first identify the class of average optimal control policies, and then within this class, we search policies that minimize the limiting average variance. To do this, a key intermediate step is to show that the limiting average variance is a constant independent of the initial state. Our proof of this latter fact gives a result stronger than the central limit theorem for diffusions. An application to manufacturing systems illustrates our results.  相似文献

In this note, we introduce the inverse point respect to an ellipse, which generalizes the classical inversion in a circle. Specifically, we show a geometrical construction of inverse points with respect to an ellipse. For discrete dynamical systems the theory of invariant manifolds is well known to be of vital importance. In terms of difference equations this theory is basically concerned with autonomous equations. However, the crucial and currently most difficult questions in this field are related to non-periodic, in particular chaotic motions. Since this topic - even in the autonomous context is an intrinsically time-variant matter. There is and urgent need for a non-autonomous version of invariant manifold theory. In this paper we present we present a very general version of the classical result on stable and unstable manifolds for hyperbolic fixed points of diffeomorphisms. In fact, we drop the assumption of invertibility of the mapping, we consider non-autonomous difference equations rather than mappings In effect, we generalize the notion of invariant manifold to the concept of invariant fiber bundle.  相似文献

Viscoelastic fluids represent a major challenge both from an engineering and from a mathematical point of view. Recently, we have shown that viscoelasticity induces chaos in closed‐loop thermosyphons even when we consider binary fluids, this is, when we consider a solute in the fluid, as water and antifreezes, for example. In this work, we consider a linear friction law, and we show that in this case with the addition of a solute to the fluid we can prove, under some conditions, chaotic asymptotic behavior for suitable geometry of the circuit and heat flux or ambient temperature functions.  相似文献
