This paper proposes a unified framework to solve distributionally robust mean-risk optimization problem that simultaneously uses variance, value-at-risk (VaR) and conditional value-at-risk (CVaR) as a triple-risk measure. It provides investors with more flexibility to find portfolios in the sense that it allows investors to optimize a return-risk profile in the presence of estimation error. We derive a closed-form expression for the optimal portfolio strategy to the robust mean-multiple risk portfolio selection model under distribution and mean return ambiguity (RMP). Specially, the robust mean-variance, robust maximum return, robust minimum VaR and robust minimum CVaR efficient portfolios are all special instances of RMP portfolios. We analytically and numerically show that the resulting portfolio weight converges to the minimum variance portfolio when the level of ambiguity aversion is in a high value. Using numerical experiment with simulated data, we demonstrate that our robust portfolios under ambiguity are more stable over time than the non-robust portfolios.  相似文献

本文研究了投资者在极端事件冲击下带通胀的最优投资组合选择问题, 其中投资者不仅对损失风险是厌恶的而且对模型不确定也是厌恶的. 投资者在风险资产和无风险资产中进行投资. 首先, 利用Ito公式推导考虑通胀的消费篮子价格动力学方程, 其次由通胀折现的终端财富预期效用最大化, 对含糊厌恶投资者的最优期望效用进行刻画. 利用动态规划原理, 建立最优消费和投资策略所满足的HJB方程. 再次, 利用市场分解的方法解出HJB方程, 获得投资者最优消费和投资策略的显式解. 最后, 通过数值模拟, 分析了含糊厌恶、风险厌恶、跳和通胀因素对投资者最优资产配置策略的影响.  相似文献

In order to study the effect of different risk measures on the efficient portfolios (frontier) while properly describing the characteristic of return distributions in the stock market, it is assumed in this paper that the joint return distribution of risky assets obeys the multivariate t-distribution. Under the mean-risk analysis framework, the interrelationship of efficient portfolios (frontier) based on risk measures such as variance, value at risk (VaR), and expected shortfall (ES) is analyzed and compared. It is proved that, when there is no riskless asset in the market, the efficient frontier under VaR or ES is a subset of the mean-variance (MV) efficient frontier, and the efficient portfolios under VaR or ES are also MV efficient; when there exists a riskless asset in the market, a portfolio is MV efficient if and only if it is a VaR or ES efficient portfolio. The obtained results generalize relevant conclusions about investment theory, and can better guide investors to make their investment decision.  相似文献

In a financial market composed of n risky assets and a riskless asset, where short sales are allowed and mean–variance investors can be ambiguity averse, i.e., diffident about mean return estimates where confidence is represented using ellipsoidal uncertainty sets, we derive a closed form portfolio rule based on a worst case max–min criterion. Then, in a market where all investors are ambiguity-averse mean–variance investors with access to given mean return and variance–covariance estimates, we investigate conditions regarding the existence of an equilibrium price system and give an explicit formula for the equilibrium prices. In addition to the usual equilibrium properties that continue to hold in our case, we show that the diffidence of investors in a homogeneously diffident (with bounded diffidence) mean–variance investors’ market has a deflationary effect on equilibrium prices with respect to a pure mean–variance investors’ market in equilibrium. Deflationary pressure on prices may also occur if one of the investors (in an ambiguity-neutral market) with no initial short position decides to adopt an ambiguity-averse attitude. We also establish a CAPM-like property that reduces to the classical CAPM in case all investors are ambiguity-neutral.  相似文献

以往关于资产组合选择的研究大多假设市场上存在无风险资产,但无风险资产实际上是不存在的.当不存在无风险资产时,假设投资者的效用定义在消费上,消费一直是投资者财富的一个固定比例,投资者的最优资产组合由两部分组成:短视的资产组合和对冲组合.假设只有股票和债券两种风险资产,当股票和债券的风险具有负的相关性时,投资者现在会消费更多,同时也会在股票上投资更多;两者正相关时,投资者无法降低风险,会减持股票并降低当前消费;两者不相关时,投资者持有的股票权重和存在无风险资产时一样.最后,还推导出了多种资产情况下最优消费和资产组合的解析表达式.  相似文献

We consider a problem of optimal reinsurance and investment with multiple risky assets for an insurance company whose surplus is governed by a linear diffusion. The insurance company’s risk can be reduced through reinsurance, while in addition the company invests its surplus in a financial market with one risk-free asset and n risky assets. In this paper, we consider the transaction costs when investing in the risky assets. Also, we use Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) to control the whole risk. We consider the optimization problem of maximizing the expected exponential utility of terminal wealth and solve it by using the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. Explicit expression for the optimal value function and the corresponding optimal strategies are obtained.  相似文献

Drawdown measures the decline of portfolio value from its historic high-water mark. In this paper, we study a lifetime investment problem aiming at minimizing the risk of drawdown occurrences. Under the Black–Scholes framework, we examine two financial market models: a market with two risky assets, and a market with a risk-free asset and a risky asset. Closed-form optimal trading strategies are derived under both models by utilizing a decomposition technique on the associated Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation. We show that it is optimal to minimize the portfolio variance when the fund value is at its historic high-water mark. Moreover, when the fund value drops, the proportion of wealth invested in the asset with a higher instantaneous rate of return should be increased. We find that the instantaneous return rate of the minimum lifetime drawdown probability (MLDP) portfolio is never less than the return rate of the minimum variance (MV) portfolio. This supports the practical use of drawdown-based performance measures in which the role of volatility is replaced by drawdown.  相似文献

We consider several multiperiod portfolio optimization models where the market consists of a riskless asset and several risky assets. The returns in any period are random with a mean vector and a covariance matrix that depend on the prevailing economic conditions in the market during that period. An important feature of our model is that the stochastic evolution of the market is described by a Markov chain with perfectly observable states. Various models involving the safety-first approach, coefficient of variation and quadratic utility functions are considered where the objective functions depend only on the mean and the variance of the final wealth. An auxiliary problem that generates the same efficient frontier as our formulations is solved using dynamic programming to identify optimal portfolio management policies for each problem. Illustrative cases are presented to demonstrate the solution procedure with an interpretation of the optimal policies.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the optimal time-consistent investment–reinsurance strategies for an insurer with state dependent risk aversion and Value-at-Risk (VaR) constraints. The insurer can purchase proportional reinsurance to reduce its insurance risks and invest its wealth in a financial market consisting of one risk-free asset and one risky asset, whose price process follows a geometric Brownian motion. The surplus process of the insurer is approximated by a Brownian motion with drift. The two Brownian motions in the insurer’s surplus process and the risky asset’s price process are correlated, which describe the correlation or dependence between the insurance market and the financial market. We introduce the VaR control levels for the insurer to control its loss in investment–reinsurance strategies, which also represent the requirement of regulators on the insurer’s investment behavior. Under the mean–variance criterion, we formulate the optimal investment–reinsurance problem within a game theoretic framework. By using the technique of stochastic control theory and solving the corresponding extended Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) system of equations, we derive the closed-form expressions of the optimal investment–reinsurance strategies. In addition, we illustrate the optimal investment–reinsurance strategies by numerical examples and discuss the impact of the risk aversion, the correlation between the insurance market and the financial market, and the VaR control levels on the optimal strategies.  相似文献

This paper studies properties of an estimator of mean–variance portfolio weights in a market model with multiple risky assets and a riskless asset. Theoretical formulas for the mean square error are derived in the case when asset excess returns are multivariate normally distributed and serially independent. The sensitivity of the portfolio estimator to errors arising from the estimation of the covariance matrix and the mean vector is quantified. It turns out that the relative contribution of the covariance matrix error depends mainly on the Sharpe ratio of the market portfolio and the sampling frequency of historical data. Theoretical studies are complemented by an investigation of the distribution of portfolio estimator for empirical datasets. An appropriately crafted bootstrapping method is employed to compute the empirical mean square error. Empirical and theoretical estimates are in good agreement, with the empirical values being, in general, higher.  相似文献

This paper examines a new approach for credit risk optimization. The model is based on the Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) risk measure, the expected loss exceeding Value-at-Risk. CVaR is also known as Mean Excess, Mean Shortfall, or Tail VaR. This model can simultaneously adjust all positions in a portfolio of financial instruments in order to minimize CVaR subject to trading and return constraints. The credit risk distribution is generated by Monte Carlo simulations and the optimization problem is solved effectively by linear programming. The algorithm is very efficient; it can handle hundreds of instruments and thousands of scenarios in reasonable computer time. The approach is demonstrated with a portfolio of emerging market bonds.
