In this paper, we discuss FI-extending property of rings and modules. The main results are the following: a characterization of von Neumann regular rings which are two-sided FI-extending is given; sufficient conditions for direct summands of FI-extending modules to be FI-extending are obtained; and at last, a necessary and sufficient condition for nonsingular modules over nonsingular rings to be FI-extending is given.  相似文献

The well-known tower theorem of groups (resp. Lie algebras) shows that the tower of automorphism groups (resp. derivation algebras) of a finite group (resp. a finite dimensional Lie algebra) with trivial center terminates after finitely many steps. We generalize these results for Lie rings, and present some necessary and sufficient conditions for Lie rings to be complete.  相似文献

A ring is said to be UR if every element can be written as the sum of a unit and a regular element. These rings are shown to be a unifying generalization of regular rings, clean rings and (S, 2)-ring~. In this paper, the concept of right generalized semi-π-regular rings is defined. We prove that these rings are non-trival generalizations of both right GP-injective rings and semi- π-regular rings. The aim of this paper is to investigate higher level orderings on modules over commutative rings. On the basis of the theory of higher level orderings on fields and commutative rings, some results involving existence of higher level orderings are generalized to the category of modules over commutative rings. In this paper, we introduce the concept of almost cotorsion modules. A module is called almost cotorsion if it is subisomorphic to its cotorsion envelope. Some characterizations of almost cotorsion modules are given. It is also proved that every module is a direct summand of an almost cotorsion module. As an application, perfect rings are characterized in terms of almost cotorsion modules.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce and study the notion of a graded (strongly) nil clean ring which is group graded. We also deal with extensions of graded (strongly) nil clean rings to graded matrix rings and to graded group rings. The question of when nil cleanness of the component, which corresponds to the neutral element of a group, implies graded nil cleanness of the whole graded ring is examined. Similar question is discussed in the case of groupoid graded rings as well.  相似文献

We give an example of a primitive ring which is a sum of two Wedderburn radical subrings. This answers an open question and simplifies the proof of the known theorem that there exists a ring which is not nil but is a sum of two locally nilpotent subrings.

A *-ring R is called a nil *-clean ring if every element of R is a sum of a projection and a nilpotent.Nil *-clean rings are the *-version of nil-clean rings introduced by Diesl.This paper is about the nil *-clean property of rings with emphasis on matrix rings.We show that a *-ring R is nil *-clean if and only if J(R) is nil and R/J(R) is nil*-clean.For a 2-primal *-ring R,with the induced involution given by (aij)* =(a*ij)T,the nil *-clean property of Mn(R) is completely reduced to that of Mn(Z2).Consequently,Mn(R) is not a nil *-clean ring for n =3,4,and M2(R) is a nil *-clean ring if and only if J(R) is nil,R/J(R) is a Boolean ring and a*-a ∈ J(R) for all a ∈ R.  相似文献

We discuss several problems on the structure of nil rings from the linear algebra point of view. Among others, a number of questions and results are presented concerning algebras of infinite matrices over nil algebras, and nil algebras of infinite matrices over fields, which are related to the famous Koethe's problem. We characterize right Noetherian rings over which all simple modules are almost injective. It is proved that R is such a ring, if and only if, the complements of semisimple submodules of every R-module M are direct summands of M, if and only if, R is a finite direct sum of right ideals Ir, where Ir is either a Noetherian V-module with zero socle, or a simple module, or an injective module of length 2. A commutative Noetherian ring for which all simple modules are almost injective is precisely a finite direct product of rings Ri, where Ri is either a field or a quasi-Frobenius ring of length 2. We show that for commutative rings whose all simple modules are almost injective, the properties of Kasch, (semi)perfect, semilocal, quasi-Frobenius, Artinian, and Noetherian coincide.  相似文献

Let $I$ be an ideal of a ring $R$. We call $R$ weakly $I$-semiregular if $R$/$I$ is a von Neumann regular ring. This definition generalizes $I$-semiregular rings.
