Study of the Solvability of Some Volterra-Type Integral and Integro-Differential Equations of Third Kind

For Volterra integral equations of the third kind and for Volterra-type integrodifferential equations of the third kind, theorems on the existence of solutions in Sobolev spaces (i.e., regular solutions) are proved. The proofs are based on the theory of boundary value problems for degenerate ordinary differential equations and on the theory of boundary value problems for parabolic equations with a changing evolution direction.

On a Class of Systems of Linear and Nonlinear Fredholm Integral Equations of the Third Kind with Multipoint Singularities

Based on a new approach, we show that finding solutions for a class of systems of linear (respectively, nonlinear) Fredholm integral equations of the third kind with multipoint singularities is equivalent to finding solutions of systems of linear (respectively, nonlinear) Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with additional conditions. We study the existence, nonexistence, uniqueness, and nonuniqueness of solutions for this class of systems of Fredholm integral equations of the third kind with multipoint singularities.     

Complexiton solutions of the Korteweg–de Vries equation with self-consistent sources

Complexiton solutions to the Korteweg–de Vires equation with self-consistent sources are presented. The basic technique adopted is the Darboux transformation. The resulting solutions provide evidence that soliton equations with self-consistent sources can have complexiton solutions, in addition to soliton, positon and negaton solutions. This also implies that soliton equations with self-consistent sources possess some kind of analytical characteristics that linear differential equations possess and brings ideas toward classification of exact explicit solutions of nonlinear integrable differential equations.     

一类二阶迭代泛函微分方程周期解的存在性

利用k-集压缩算子抽象连续性定理和一些分析技巧,研究了一类二阶迭代泛函微分方程周期解的存在性,得到了一些保证该类方程存在周期解的新结果.

Singularly perturbed integral equations

We study singularly perturbed Fredholm equations of the second kind. We give sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness of solutions and describe the asymptotic behavior of the solutions. We examine the relationship between the solutions of the perturbed and unperturbed equations, exhibiting the degeneration of the boundary layer to delta functions. The results are applied to several examples including the Volterra equations.     

Numerical solution of some classes of integral equations using Bernstein polynomials

This paper is concerned with obtaining approximate numerical solutions of some classes of integral equations by using Bernstein polynomials as basis. The integral equations considered are Fredholm integral equations of second kind, a simple hypersingular integral equation and a hypersingular integral equation of second kind. The method is explained with illustrative examples. Also, the convergence of the method is established rigorously for each class of integral equations considered here.

本文证明了线性脉冲中立型微分方程 [y(t)+p(t)y(t-τ)-r(t)y(t-ρ)]′+q(t)y(t-σ)=0,t≥0,t≠t_k, y(t_k~+)-y(t_k)=b_ky(t_k),k=1,2,…正解的存在性等价于一类非脉冲中立型方程正解的存在性,应用这一结果,建立了此类线性脉冲中立型微分方程正解存在性的若干充分条件。     

Solutions to systems of linear Fredholm integral equations of the third kind with multipoint singularities

A new approach is used to show that the solution for one class of systems of linear Fredholm integral equations of the third kind with multipoint singularities is equivalent to the solution of systems of linear Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with additional conditions. The existence, nonexistence, uniqueness, and nonuniqueness of solutions to systems of linear Fredholm integral equations of the third kind with multipoint singularities are analyzed.     

An extrapolation method for a class of boundary integral equations

Boundary value problems of the third kind are converted into boundary integral equations of the second kind with periodic logarithmic kernels by using Green's formulas. For solving the induced boundary integral equations, a Nyström scheme and its extrapolation method are derived for periodic Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with logarithmic singularity. Asymptotic expansions for the approximate solutions obtained by the Nyström scheme are developed to analyze the extrapolation method. Some computational aspects of the methods are considered, and two numerical examples are given to illustrate the acceleration of convergence.

     

Sliding solutions of second‐order differential equations with discontinuous right‐hand side

We consider second‐order ordinary differential equations with discontinuous right‐hand side. We analyze the concept of solution of this kind of equations and determine analytical conditions that are satisfied by typical solutions. A schauder decomposition and weakly singular integral equations in Lp

In this paper, a Schauder decomposition in L_p is used to obtain numerical solutions for the Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. Considerations are also given to weakly singular integral equations and two dimensional weakly singular integral equations.     

Oscillatory properties for semilinear degenerate hyperbolic equations of second order

We consider three kind of oscillatory properties of the solutions to semilinear degenerate hyperbolic equations. Several sufficient conditions for the oscillation or non-oscillation are presented. In particular, they give us the positivity of the solutions for semilinear hyperbolic equations degenerating at initial point in one space dimension. Moreover we establish a few oscillatory conditions for the solutions of the mixed problem reduced to in one space dimension.     

Continuity of Solutions of a Class of Fractional Equations

In practice many problems related to space/time fractional equations depend on fractional parameters. But these fractional parameters are not known a priori in modelling problems. Hence continuity of the solutions with respect to these parameters is important for modelling purposes. In this paper we will study the continuity of the solutions of a class of equations including the Abel equations of the first and second kind, and time fractional diffusion type equations. We consider continuity with respect to the fractional parameters as well as the initial value.

Weak convergence of approximate solutions of stochastic equations with applications to random differential and integral equations ∗

In this paper, we considerably extend our earlier result about convergence in distribution of approximate solutions: of random operator equations, where the stochastic inputs and the underlying deterministic equation are simultaneously approximated. As a by-product, we obtain convergence results for approximate solutions of equations between spaces of probability measures. We apply our results to random Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and to a random [nbar]onlinear elliptic boundary value problem.
