A systematic theoretical and experimental study on a 35-GHz 45-kV third-harmonic gyrotron with a permanent magnet system is presented in this paper. A complex cavity with gradual transition and a diode magnetron injection gun (MIG) are employed in the gyrotron. A self-consistent field nonlinear theoretical investigation and numerical simulation for electron beam interaction with RF fields are given. The diode MIG is simulated numerically utilizing our code in detail. The permanent magnet system provided the maximum axial magnetic field of about 4.5 kG in the cavity region of the gyrotron. The Ka band third-harmonic complex cavity gyrotron with a permanent magnet system has been designed, constructed, and tested. A pulse output power of 147.3 kW was obtained at a beam voltage of 45 kV with beam current of 32.2 A, corresponding to an efficiency of 10.2%.  相似文献

A self-consistent particle simulation code has been developed for the research of a 35-GHz third-harmonic Low-voltage complex cavity gyrotron. Aided with microcomputer we use FORTRAN to simulate the process of interaction between electron beam and electromagnetic field. About 7000 macro particles are included at the same time. In the program many useful physical graphs are accessible for the further research of this kind of gyrotron such as the field profile, electrons distribution in various spaces, output power, efficiency and et al. 给出了工作在高阶模式下的同轴腔回旋管振荡器,在考虑竞争模式情况下的多模起振过程的数理模型和具体的数值计算方法。以此为基础编制的程序对一只工作于高阶模式TE42, 22,频率为0.22 THz的同轴腔回旋管振荡器进行了多模非线性模拟研究。结果表明:在合适的腔体结构参数并考虑腔壁上的欧姆损耗情况下,竞争模式得到有效抑制,可以稳定地工作在单一模式,输出功率达0.87 MW,效率为22.8%,腔壁上的欧姆损耗低于其所能承受的最大值。  相似文献

A low-voltage second-harmonic gyrotron intended as a compact lightweight source has been designed and evaluated with a particle-tracing code and the particle-in-cell code MAGIC. The two codes are shown to be in good agreement when applied to a conventional fundamental-frequency gyrotron and also to the novel second-harmonic gyrotron. The 25-kW continuous wave (CW) 94-GHz gyrotron with a predicted conversion efficiency of 32% and device efficiency of 22.5% is driven by a 25-kV 4.5-A (υ2=1.5, Δυzz=7%) electron beam from a magnetron injection gun and employs a low-loss TE021/TE031 complex cavity for mode control. Although the 17-kG CW gyrotron will use a cryogen-free high-Tc superconducting magnet, a 94-GHz prototype will be tested at low duty with a conventional low-Tc superconducting magnet  相似文献

An experimental loop has been set up to demonstrate the technical feasibility of a hot water aquifer store and to validate an original physical model and code as well as the engineering based on it. The model applies to a “reference aquifer” and an appropriate exploitation system, as defined in the text. Experiments have been carried out for a period of 37 days, 15 days for injection of hot water at 40°C, 7 days of storage at rest, 15 days for pumping out stored hot water. The system has worked perfectly at the specified performance. Measured temperatures show a very good accordance with temperatures predicted by the numerical model. The rated 52% efficiency has been confirmed. Although more extended experiments shall be performed, one can conclude that the engineering of the system is appropriate and the physical model and numerical code developed by the authors are satisfactory.  相似文献

We consider the features of a system for the formation of an electron beam in a continuouswave high-stability gyrotron at the second gyrofrequency harmonic with an operating frequency of 258 GHz. The problems related to the maintenance of the required beam parameters are analyzed. The procedure and results of numerical simulation of the electron gun and collector of the gyrotron are described. The influence of various physical factors on the characteristics of the electronoptical system of the gyrotron are studied. The design of the electron beam formation system is described along with the results of measuring its parameters.  相似文献

 根据回旋管的电子回旋脉塞理论,借助于编写的回旋振荡管自洽非线性注-波互作用计算程序,设计出了工作频率94 GHz、工作电压30 kV、工作电流3 A的基次谐波连续波单腔回旋振荡管,工作模式为TE02模。设计的回旋振荡管在电压30.0 kV、电流3.0 A、速度横纵比1.5的条件下,获得了31.8 kW的输出功率,电子效率约35%。利用粒子模拟仿真软件对设计的回旋管收集极辅助线包散焦系统进行了粒子模拟仿真分析,模拟结果表明:借助于辅助线包散焦系统可以有效缩短回旋振荡管的轴向尺寸,并使回旋管收集极上的电子束功率密度低于500 W/cm2; W波段回旋振荡管收集极的热测试验结果表明:利用粒子模拟仿真获得的收集极上的电子束功率密度分布与其试验测量结果比较吻合。  相似文献

The effect of interaction cavity geometry on the gyrotron performance in terms of cold cavity parameters (Q value and axial electric field profile), Ohmic wall loss, start oscillation current and interaction efficiency are analyzed in detail in this article. The measurement of Q value and axial electric field profile is also performed for the cavities with different geometries by using non-destructive and perturbation techniques, respectively. Scattering matrix code is used for the computation of Q value and axial electric field profile and results are compared with the experimental data. A Particle-in-Cell code and a specific beam–wave interaction computation code based on generalized non-linear theory are used in the efficiency calculations. For all numerical and experimental analyses, the case of 42 GHz, 200 kW gyrotron is considered here.  相似文献

The gyrotron with an electrically insulated collector has been manufactured and tested. The 60% output efficiency is obtained for the Collector Potential Depression (CPD) operation regime. The results of the numerical simulation of the electron energy spectrum in the collector region of the second-harmonic technological 24 GHz gyrotron are presented. It is shown, that the minimal electron beam energy is about 20% of the initial value and that the gyrotron cavity should be expanded to achieve the highest output efficiency of the gyrotron with energy recovery. The highest experimental decelerating voltage is in good agreement with the calculation of the electron energy spectrum.  相似文献

详细研究并设计了一个由Vlasov螺旋开口辐射器和两级曲面反射器组成的边廊模回旋管准光模式变换器.首先采用几何光学理论研究了设计的Vlasov型准光模式变换器的工作机理,在此基础上,再利用矢量绕射理论中的口径场积分法和表面电流积分法编写了模拟仿真程序,最后结合W波段边廊模回旋管的具体设计参数,应用所编写程序详细分析了工作模式在此变换器中的模式变换过程.模拟结果表明,W波段回旋管中的TE12,2边廊模在输出窗处被转换为能量集中的准Gauss波束. 关键词: 回旋管 边廊模 准光模式变换器 W波段  相似文献

 该单阳极磁控注入电子枪是为8mm永磁包装回旋振荡管设计的。首先利用绝热理论和角动量守恒理论进行了初始的电极参数设计,其次讨论和选取数值计算方法,然后利用自编的程序进行数值计算和优化,同时讨论了空间电荷的影响和速度零散的改善,最终得到最佳的电极和电子注参数。该电子枪已经应用于制管实验中。  相似文献

We employ a well-established method to determine the dispersion properties of transverse magnetic and transverse electric waves in re-entrant cavities. We assume that the waveguide structure consists of a large number of identical cavities in order that the Floquet theorem could be applied to describe the electromagnetic field in an empty cylinder. Furthermore, we describe the electromagnetic field in each cavity region by an eigenfunction expansion for standing waves. Inferring boundary conditions leads to a system of two infinite sets of equations, which is solved numerically by truncation. A numerical code has been developed to calculate the dispersion relation and the electromagnetic field components. Numerical results are presented for several waveguide geometries, including the case of the real gyrotron beam-tunnel geometry. A comparison with already established codes is made.  相似文献

A time-dependent self-consistent multimode code which allows to model the interaction between the modes of a coaxial cavity gyrotron operating at the fundamental and/or at higher harmonics of the cyclotron frequency is presented. The Method of Moments (MoM) is used to obtain a rigorous solution of the eigenvalue problem for a coaxial waveguide with corrugated insert. It is shown that the use of the Surface Impedance Model for the calculation of modes operating at higher harmonics leads to incorrect results in high-power coaxial cavity gyrotrons. However, the numerical simulations based on the MoM agree well with the available experimental results.  相似文献

The software package GUN-MIG has been developed for computer simulation of beam formation in magnetron injection guns (MIG). It is based on a fully relativistic self-consistent physical model which takes into account the specific problems and requirements that are being encountered in the analysis and design of MIG for gyrotrons. Besides providing a general outline of the physical models and the program implementation of the code, several illustrative examples of the numerical experiments with real MIG for submillimeter wave gyrotrons are presented and discussed.  相似文献

A nonlinear numerical simulation of a second harmonic gyrotron oscillator is presented in this paper. Mode competition from a competing fundamental mode is investigated. In addition, a self-consistent nonlinear theoretical model, including the effect of velocity spread, is applied to analyze the second harmonic gyrotron. A series of numerical calculations is carried out for different electron beam parameters. The results are compared with that of calculations using the cold-cavity, fixed field approximation and with experiments. Good agreement is found between our calculations and an experiment at Fukui University. The azimuthal polarization of the field and the choice of the electron beam radius are also discussed.  相似文献

利用粒子模拟软件和热分析软件,对W波段回旋行波管收集极区的电子轨迹和热分布进行了仿真计算。通过对收集极磁场参数的优化,调节了收集极区的电子分布,使得电子轰击区域从17.05cm2增加到28.52cm2,提高了67%,从而降低了单位面积的功率密度。通过对收集极内壁热分布的仿真分析,确定了1kW/cm2的功率密度及1.12L/s的冷却水流量,以确保收集极内壁温度低于材料熔点,不会产生物理损坏,使得收集极能够稳定工作,保证了管子的工作稳定性。通过热仿真计算验证了优化方案的可行性,并已应用于实际。  相似文献

In this paper the design and optimization of a nonlinear diameter taper, connecting the output section of a gyrotron cavity to the uniform output waveguide section, is presented. The design of a nonlinear taper of a 42 GHz, 200 kW CW gyrotron operating in the TE0,3 cavity mode with axial output collection has been taken as a case study. The taper synthesis has been carried out considering a raised cosine type of nonlinear taper and the analysis is done using a dedicated scattering matrix code. In addition, an improved particle swarm optimization - an evolutionary optimization - algorithm is used for the design optimization of this nonlinear taper. The optimum design of the taper shows the effectiveness of the presented method.  相似文献
