Analytical solutions for the peristaltic flow of a magneto hydrodynamic(MHD) Sisko fluid in a channel, under the effects of strong and weak magnetic fields, are presented. The governing nonlinear problem, for the strong magnetic field,is solved using the matched asymptotic expansion. The solution for the weak magnetic field is obtained using a regular perturbation method. The main observation is the existence of a Hartman boundary layer for the strong magnetic field at the location of the two plates of the channel. The thickness of the Hartmann boundary layer is determined analytically. The effects of a strong magnetic field and the shear thinning parameter of the Sisko fluid on the velocity profile are presented graphically.  相似文献

A transcendent equation for complex energy is derived on the basis of the exactly soluble 3D model of short-range potential and the time-dependent Green’s function in a strong electromagnetic field representing the combination of a constant magnetic field and the field of a circularly polarized wave. The parameters of the quasistationary states of an electron in δ potential are calculated with account taken of the action of a strong external field of complex configuration. The possibility of stabilizing the decay of the bound states of spinor and scalar particles by a strong magnetic field is analyzed. The results require revision of the commonly accepted view on the stabilizing role of a strong magnetic field in the ionization of atoms.  相似文献

In this paper, firstly, we investigate the neutrino emissivity from quark Urca process in strong magnetic field. Then, we discuss the heat capacity of strange stars in strong magnetic field. Finally, we give the cooling curve in strong magnetic field. In order to make a comparison, we also give the corresponding cooling curve in the case of null magnetic field. It turns out that strange stars cool faster in strong magnetic field than that without magnetic field.  相似文献

The behavior of the magnetic subsystem of cobalt fluoride is investigated in a strong magnetic field oriented in an arbitrary direction in space. In the case where the magnetic field is out of the planes passing through the easiest magnetization axis A and the axis [100] ‖ X or through the easiest magnetization axis A and the axis [010] ‖ Y, it follows from the derived system of equations that the antiferromagnetic vector l does not change direction to be align with the basal plane, provided the magnetic field has a nonzero component along the A axis. It is demonstrated that the antiferromagnetic vector l becomes parallel to the basal plane only when the magnetic field is perpendicular to the A axis. The case of the magnetic field directed parallel to the [110] axis is examined thoroughly. The critical value of the magnetic field is determined at which the antiferromagnetic vector l becomes parallel to the basal plane and perpendicular to the external magnetic field H for H → ∞.  相似文献

The equilibrium statistical mechanics of a nearly classical one-component plasma, submitted to a strong magnetic field, is studied, in three or two dimensions, by a suitable expansion of the Wigner distribution function. A strong magnetic field quenches the quantum fluctuations transverse to the field. The situation is especially simple for a two-dimensional plasma, which has a classical behaviour in the strong-field limit; as a consequence, a classical Wigner crystallization can be induced by the magnetic field.  相似文献

The chemical potential of electrons in a strong magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that the magnetic field has only a slight effect on electron chemical potential when B 〈 10^11 T, but electron chemical potential will decrease greatly when B 〉 10^11 T. The effects of a strong magnetic field on electron capture rates for ^60Fe are discussed, and the result shows that the electron capture sharply decreases because of the strong magnetic field.  相似文献

The eigen frequencies of radial pulsations of neutron stars are calculated in a strong magnetic field. At low densities we use the magnetic BPS equation of state (EOS) similar to that obtained by Lai and Shapiro while at high densities the EOS obtained from the relativistic nuclear mean field theory is taken and extended to include strong magnetic field. It is found that magnetized neutron stars support higher maximum mass whereas the effect of magnetic field on radial stability for observed neutron star masses is minimal.  相似文献

We have investigated mainly the influences of magnetic particle–particle interactions on the orientational distribution and viscosity of a semi-dense dispersion, which is composed of rod-like particles with a magnetic moment magnetized normal to the particle axis. In addition, the influences of the magnetic field strength, shear rate, and random forces on the orientational distribution and rheological properties have been clarified. The mean field approximation has been applied to take into account magnetic interactions between rod-like particles. The basic equation of the orientational distribution function has been derived from the balance of torques and solved by the numerical analysis method. The results obtained here are summarized as follows. For a strong magnetic field, the rotational motion of the rod-like particle is restricted in a plane normal to the shearing plane since the magnetic moment of the particle is restricted in the magnetic field direction. Under circumstances of a very strong magnetic interaction between particles, the magnetic moment is strongly restricted in the magnetic field direction, so that the particle has a tendency to incline in the flow direction with the magnetic moment pointing to the magnetic field direction. For a strong shear flow, a directional characteristic of rod-like particles is enhanced, and this leads to a more significant one-peak-type distribution of the orientational distribution function. Magnetic interactions between particles do not contribute to the increase in the viscosity because the mean-field vector has only a component along the magnetic field direction.  相似文献

The expression for the electron wave function for a 3D crystal in a constant magnetic field is obtained in the strong coupling approximation. A 3D Harper-type equation describing the electron spectrum in magnetic 3D subbands is derived. The Fermi surfaces for monovalent noble metals are constructed for various orientations and magnitudes of magnetic fields corresponding to a rational number p/q of the magnetic flux quanta; radical changes in the topology of the Fermi surfaces in a strong magnetic field are observed. As a result, considerable changes in the physical properties of crystals in a strong magnetic field can be expected. In particular, a metal-semiconductor transition occurs for all even values of q, while metallic properties are preserved for odd values of q. The total energy of electrons as a function of the magnetic field is also calculated and shows a minimum for p/q=1/2. The type of thermodynamic oscillations in an ultrastrong magnetic field is discussed. The effects considered by the authors may be observed in fields with a strength of several tens of megagausses.  相似文献

In the framework of effective mass approximation the electronic states in semi-spherical quantum lens under the influence of strong magnetic field are investigated. We have used the adiabatic approximation for the case of strong magnetic field. The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of this problem are determined. In strong confinement regime interband optical absorption of light is investigated in quantum lens from InAs. The threshold frequencies of absorption are determined. The decay of a strong magnetic field in a conducting matter is considered. It is shown that nondissipative Hall currents can considerably change the behavior of the field when it decays. The nonlinear character of the Hall effect leads to the generation of fields of high multipolarity even for most simple initial magnetic configurations. In particular, the evolution of an initially dipole configuration may give rise not only to quadrupole or higher poloidal harmonics but also to a toroidal field that is other than zero only inside the conductor. The nonlinear Hall currents relate different harmonics to each other and, in a sufficiently strong field, may provide efficient energy exchange between them. Due to this redistribution of the magnetic energy, the evolution of different harmonics has an oscillating character. The oscillation period is determined by the characteristic time of Hall drift and may be fairly short in strong magnetic fields.  相似文献

The nonlinear collision integral for the Green’s function averaged over a random magnetic field is transformed using an iteration procedure taking account of the strong random scattering of particles on the correlation length of the random magnetic field. Under this transformation the regular magnetic field is assumed to be uniform at distances of the order of the correlation length. The single-particle Green’s functions of the scattered particles in the presence of a regular magnetic field are investigated. The transport coefficients are calculated taking account of the broadening of the cyclotron and Cherenkov resonances as a result of strong random scattering. The mean-free path lengths parallel and perpendicular to the regular magnetic field are found for a power-law spectrum of the random field. The analytical results obtained are compared with the experimental data on the transport ranges of solar and galactic cosmic rays in the interplanetary magnetic field. As a result, the conditions for the propagation of cosmic rays in the interplanetary space and a more accurate idea of the structure of the interplanetary magnetic field are determined.  相似文献

The interaction of neutrinos with nucleons in the envelope of a remnant of collapsing system with a strong magnetic field during the passage of the main neutrino flux is investigated. General expressions are derived for the reaction rates and for the energy-momentum transferred to the medium through the neutrino scattering by nucleons and in the direct URCA processes. Parameters of the medium in a strong magnetic field are calculated under the condition of quasi-equilibrium with neutrinos. Numerical estimates are given for the neutrino mean free paths and for the density of the force acting on the envelope along the magnetic field. It is shown that, in a strong toroidal magnetic field, the envelope region partially transparent to neutrinos can acquire a large angular acceleration on the passage time scales of the main neutrino flux.  相似文献

强激光照射金属线圈后,会在打靶点附近的背景等离子体中诱发冷电子的回流,在金属丝内形成强电流源,从而产生强磁场.本文利用神光II高功率激光器产生的强激光照射金属丝靶,产生了围绕金属丝的环形强磁场.利用B-dot对局域磁感应强度进行了测量,根据测量结果,结合三维模拟程序,反演得到磁场的空间分布.再利用强激光与CH平面靶相互作用产生的超音速等离子体撞击该金属丝,产生了弓激波.通过光学成像手段研究了磁场对冲击波的影响,发现磁场使得弓激波的轮廓变得不明显并且张角变大.同时,通过实验室天体物理定标率,将金属丝表面等离子参数变换到相应的天体参数中,结果证明利用该实验方法可以在实验室中产生类似太阳风的磁化等离子体.  相似文献

Experimental observations on mode transition in a positive column of Ne gas under non-uniform axial magnetic field are reported. The self-excited ionization wave is damped and a different type of ionization wave is grown in the region of the strong magnetic field near the magnetic coils. Based on the p-f shell model,the effect of strong magnetic field on neutrino energy loss rates by electron capture is investigated.The calculations show that the magnetic field has only a slight effect on the neutrino energy loss rates in the range of 108-1013 G on the surfaces of most neutron stars.But for some magnetars,the range of the magnetic field is 1013-1018 G,and the neutrino energy loss rates are greatly reduced,even by more than four orders of magnitude due to the strong magnetic field.  相似文献
