The generation of megagauss magnetic field due to the time dependent part of the ponderomotive force of a self-focused Gaussian laser beam indicent on a plasma has been studied. Defocusing of the laser beam becomes possible due to diffraction divergence in the case of a weakly nonlinear medium. The influence of defocusing of a laser beam on magnetic field generation has also been investigated. It is found that the magnitude of the magnetic field due to self focusing of the beam is enhanced and is comparable with the observed values, while there is a reduction in the magnitude of the magnetic field when the beam defocuses due to diffraction divergence in the presence of weak nonlinearity. 相似文献

Mechanisms underlying the formation and dynamics of a virtual cathode (VC) in a tubular electron beam subjected to a magnetic
field are studied using a numerical 2D model. Two qualitatively different competing types of space charge dynamics near the
VC are discovered. Which of them predominates depends on the magnetic field strength. The beam current critical density at
which a nonstationary VC forms in the system is also strongly dependent on the magnetic field. It is shown that the optimal
strength of the magnetic field that minimizes the beam current critical density depends on the Brillouin magnetic field. 相似文献

By using the equilibrium equations for a hollow cylindrical piezoelectric layer in absence of body forces and taking into the account a magnetized electron beam in hollow region of this system the effects of thermal pressure, electrostatic self field and the strength of external magnetic field of a non-relativistic magnetized electron beam column on radially polarized of an annular cylindrical piezoelectric crystal in the steady state are simulated. The electrostatic potential profile in piezoelectric layer due to the mechanical pressure and electrostatic self field of electron beam are studied. Furthermore the graphs of the difference of potential Δϕ between inner and outer surfaces of piezoelectric versus to electron temperature, density of beam and the strength of external magnetic field are presented. 相似文献

In the present work, the influence of the magnetic field of current extracting systems on motion of electrons and envelope
of the electron beam transported in preliminary created plasma in an external longitudinal magnetic field to a current-conducting
target is examined. The field generated by the electron beam, the external magnetic field, and the magnetic field created
by the current running down the target during electron deposition are taken into account. Configuration portraits of the beam
on the target are constructed as functions of the beam current, degree of current neutralization, external field strength,
and orientation of the current extractors.

The dynamical processes of an energetic electron beam propagating through a high-density plasma have been analyzed using an electromagnetic two-dimensional hybrid simulation code. After an initially solid cylindrical electron beam breaks up into a number of small beamlets, they start to merge with each other by means of their mutual current attractive force. The results show that detailed processes which take place when a pair of beamlets merge into a single one are different for different sizes of beamlets. When the size of the beamlet is small, the merging process is accompanied by magnetic field generation and the energy of the beam electrons then decreases in time. On the other hand, when the beamlet becomes sufficiently large, the merging no longer generates an excess magnetic field, and the energy of beam electrons is kept constant. The difference comes from the magnitude of the return current induced in the surrounding background plasma. 相似文献

A self consistent field large signal theory of gyromonotron is studied in this paper. The RF field profile function satisfies a wave equation. The field is determined by cavity geometry and AC electron beam current. The RF field not only satisfies the boundary conditions at the ends of the cavity but also obeys conservation of energy for steady state interaction between electron beam and field. The parameters of a particular gyrotron are calculated numerically using present theory. Effect of some factors on gyrotron characteristic is discussed. Comparison is made between the results of the self consistent field calculations with and without conservation of energy. 相似文献

The magnetic field generated in a plasma due to the irradiation of a Gaussian laser beam is estimated, taking into consideration the self-focusing effect of the laser. 对34GHz基波回旋管双阳极磁控注入枪的优化做了详细的研究和计算,数值模拟了阳极电压、注电流、枪体尺寸加工误差、外加直流磁场等因素对电子枪的影响。模拟结果表明:增大阳极电压不但可以提高速度比,而且可以降低横向速度零散。磁场压缩比减小,使电子注具有最小速度零散的电流值增大;同时,电子注的速度比降低,最小横向速度零散值也增大。必须慎重选择阳极形状,以提高电子枪的性能并保证电子注的稳定性;同时,还发现由于阳极结构的变化导致阴极电场分布的变化,使电子注的注电流在各因子变化过程中出现了微小的扰动。减小Bc可以增大电子注的速度比,还可以减小电子注的横向速度零散,但是当电子注的速度比增大到一定值时,电子注的性能就会变得不太稳定。 相似文献

磁场调控型离子源在离子源等离子体扩散空间中引入轴向强脉冲磁场,磁场起两方面的作用,一是形成潘宁放电效应,使原子、气体分子碰撞电离效率增加;二是在脉冲强磁场的作用下,强轴向磁场将质量较轻的离子约束在轴线上,对质量较重的金属离子约束能力较弱,导致其在等离子体膨胀引出通道中碰壁损失,能够提升引出轻离子的比例。开展了磁场调控的离子源放电结构、强脉冲螺线管磁场以及引出束流光学结构的设计;测量分析了引出离子流强和离子打靶束斑形貌。研究结果表明,强轴向磁场通过等离子体对混合离子成分的筛选作用,可有效提高引出离子流强中的轻离子成分比例。 相似文献

采用等效媒质处理方法来研究有限引导磁场下沿纵向运动的相对论环形电子注.首先建立运动坐标系以电子注纵向速度匀速运动,在运动坐标系中电子注可以被考虑成静止的磁化等离子体,再通过四维空间的洛伦兹变换得到电子注在静止的实验室坐标系下可以被等效为双各向异性媒质,其不仅具有张量形式的电导率和磁导率,还具有手征特性.在此基础上同时考虑了由于电子注表面波动所引起的表面电流密度.采用该方法研究了有限引导磁场下圆柱波导中沿纵向运动的相对论环形电子注,推导出该模型的色散方程,并进行了数值计算.计算结果表明该研究方法能够得到更准

给出了低阻抗二极管产生的电子束能谱分布及外加磁场对二极管阻抗影响的数值模拟研究结果。结果表明,即使在外加电压恒定的条件下,二极管产生的电子束也具有一定的能谱分布,这说明用二极管电压、电流波形计算脉冲电子束能谱分布是不正确的。另外,外加磁场对低阻抗二极管的阻抗特性具有较大影响,其阻抗随外加磁场的增大而减小。分析认为这是由于外加磁场强度的变化改变了二极管中束电子的运动轨迹。当没有外加磁场或外加磁场较小时,低阻抗二极管产生的电子束发生自箍缩,此时二极管电流是自箍缩饱和顺位流;当外加磁场足够强时,电子束的自箍缩被抑制,二极管电流是没有箍缩时的空间电荷限制电流。束电流小于自箍缩临界电流的二极管其阻抗将不随外加磁场的变化而变化。 相似文献

电子回旋共振(Electron Cyclotron Resonance,ECR)等离子体源能产生高电荷态离子、高流强的单电荷态离子,提供稳定的束流和良好的重复性.核心部件的设计对ECR等离子体源是至关重要的,磁场对等离子体的生成和分布有直接影响,良好的磁场可以提高等离子体的性能和效率.采用有限元分析方法对ECR等离子体源磁场进行分析与设计,得到了满足设计需求与目标的磁场位形,通过高斯计对设计的永磁环轴向磁场精确测量,发现磁场仿真结果与实验结果吻合比较好,只是轴向磁场最大值及对应位置上有点偏差.通过集成实验,研究核心部件对离子源引出束流强度的影响,引出束流稳定且强度达到7 m A. 相似文献

Stimulated Raman scattering of a laser beam is investigated in the plasma with strong self generated magnetic field. The magnetized plasma supports various localized radial and azimuthal modes of lower hybrid frequencies. The density fluctuations due to lower hybrid modes couple with the oscillating velocity due to the pump, and drive the scattered wave. Equations describing the Raman process are derived and effects of various modes are studied on the growth rate analytically. Self generated magnetic field has a strong localization effect on the Raman process and growth rate is maximum for radial eigen mode number q = 0 and azimuthal eigen mode number l = 3. The frequency shift has signatures of self generated magnetic field and could serve as a diagnostic. 相似文献
