In this work, we first give various explicit and local estimates of the eigenfunctions of a perturbed Jacobi differential operator. These eigenfunctions generalize the famous classical prolate spheroidal wave functions (PSWFs), founded in 1960s by Slepian and his co-authors and corresponding to the case \(\alpha =\beta =0.\) They also generalize the new PSWFs introduced and studied recently in Wang and Zhang (Appl Comput Harmon Anal 29:303–329, 2010), denoted by GPSWFs and corresponding to the case \(\alpha =\beta .\) The main content of this work is devoted to the previous interesting special case \(\alpha =\beta >- 1.\) In particular, we give further computational improvements, as well as some useful explicit and local estimates of the GPSWFs. More importantly, by using the concept of a restricted Paley–Wiener space, we relate the GPSWFs to the solutions of a generalized energy maximisation problem. As a consequence, many desirable spectral properties of the self-adjoint compact integral operator associated with the GPSWFs are deduced from the rich literature of the PSWFs. In particular, we show that the GPSWFs are well adapted for the spectral approximation of the classical c-band-limited as well as almost c-band-limited functions. Finally, we provide the reader with some numerical examples that illustrate the different results of this work.  相似文献

In this paper, by generalizing the ideas of the (generalized) polar decomposition to the weighted polar decomposition and the unitarily invariant norm to the weighted unitarily invariant norm, we present some perturbation bounds for the generalized positive polar factor, generalized nonnegative polar factor, and weighted unitary polar factor of the weighted polar decomposition in the weighted unitarily invariant norm. These bounds extend the corresponding recent results for the (generalized) polar decomposition. In addition, we also give the comparison between the two perturbation bounds for the generalized positive polar factor obtained from two different methods. Simplified neutrosophic set is a convenient tool proposed for dealing with complex problems; it is effective in providing more data for decision‐making process. In this study, we develop a simplified neutrosophic ordered weighted distance operator which combines the neutrosophic distance measures and the ordered weighted average distance in the same formulation. It is a new handy aggregation operator that considers the situations where the input data are represented in simplified neutrosophic numbers, and it also contains diverse distance aggregation operators. Parameterized families of simplified neutrosophic ordered weighted distance operator are handled. Moreover, we establish a new neutrosophic group decision‐making method based on the simplified neutrosophic ordered weighted distance operator, which has 2 extended approaches for determining the weights of decision makers and decision attributes in decision‐making process, respectively. Finally, an illustrative example demonstrates the application of the proposed method. The effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method are shown by the comparative analysis with existing relative methods.  相似文献

Summary We give error estimates for the weighted approximation of functions with singularities at the endpoints on the semiaxis by some modifications of Sz\'asz--Mirakyan operators. To do so, we define a new weighted modulus of smoothness and prove its equivalence to the weighted K-functional. Also, the class of functions for which the modified Sz\'asz--Mirakyan operator can be defined will be extended to a much wider set than for the original operator.  相似文献

In this paper, for an invariant subspace I of the weighted Bergman space, the weighted root operator is defined. We study the weighted root operator and obtain its fundamental properties when the invariant subspace I has finite index. In this paper, we present algorithms of preorthogonal adaptive Fourier decomposition (POAFD) in weighted Bergman spaces. POAFD, as has been studied, gives rise to sparse approximations as linear combinations of the corresponding reproducing kernels. It is found that POAFD is unavailable in some weighted Hardy spaces that do not enjoy the boundary vanishing condition; as a result, the maximal selections of the parameters are not guaranteed. We overcome this difficulty with two strategies. One is to utilize the shift operator while the other is to perform weak POAFD. In the cases when the reproducing kernels are rational functions, POAFD provides rational approximations. This approximation method may be used to 1D signal processing. It is, in particular, effective to some Hardy Hp space functions for p not being equal to 2. Weighted Bergman spaces approximation may be used in system identification of discrete time‐varying systems. The promising effectiveness of the POAFD method in weighted Bergman spaces is confirmed by a set of experiments. A sequence of functions as models of the weighted Hardy spaces, being a wider class than the weighted Bergman spaces, are given, of which some are used to illustrate the algorithm and to evaluate its effectiveness over other Fourier type methods.  相似文献

Expertons and uncertain aggregation operators are tools for dealing with imprecise information that can be assessed with interval numbers. This paper introduces the uncertain generalized probabilistic weighted averaging (UGPWA) operator. It is an aggregation operator that unifies the probability and the weighted average in the same formulation considering the degree of importance that each concept has in the aggregation. Moreover, it is able to assess uncertain environments that cannot be assessed with exact numbers but it is possible to use interval numbers. Thus, we can analyze imprecise information considering the minimum and the maximum result that may occur. Further extensions to this approach are presented including the quasi-arithmetic uncertain probabilistic weighted averaging operator and the uncertain generalized probabilistic weighted moving average. We analyze the applicability of this new approach in a group decision making problem by using the theory of expertons in strategic management.  相似文献

In this paper we give a simple characterization of weighted Sobolev spaces (with piecewise monotone weights) such that the multiplication operator is bounded: it is bounded if and only if the support of μ0 is large enough. We also prove some basic properties of the appropriate weighted Sobolev spaces. To have bounded multiplication operator has important consequences in Approximation Theory: it implies the uniform bound of the zeros of the corresponding Sobolev orthogonal polynomials, and this fact allows to obtain the asymptotic behavior of Sobolev orthogonal polynomials.  相似文献

In certain applications of linear programming, the determination of a particular solution, the weighted center of the solution set, is often desired, giving rise to the need for algorithms capable of locating such center. In this paper, we modify the Mizuno-Todd-Ye predictor-corrector algorithm so that the modified algorithm is guaranteed to converge to the weighted center for given weights. The key idea is to ensure that iterates remain in a sequence of shrinking neighborhoods of the weighted central path. In this paper, we give some polynomial approximation results in a class of weighted Sobolev spaces, which are related to the Jacobi operator. We further give some embeddings of those weighted Sobolev spaces into usual ones and into spaces of continuous functions, in order to use the above approximation results in the p‐version (or the spectral method) of some finite or boundary element methods. Finally, two typical examples of the polynomial approximation of some singularities of boundary value problems in polygonal or polyhedral domains are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss sampling and reconstruction of signals in the weighted reproducing kernel space associated with an idempotent integral operator. We show that any signal in that space can be stably reconstructed from its weighted samples taken on a relatively-separated set with sufficiently small gap. We also develop an iterative reconstruction algorithm for the reconstruction of a signal from its weighted samples taken on a relatively-separated set with sufficiently small gap.  相似文献
