A set of covalently linked phenyl-amidophenyl-substituted porphyrin amphiphiles with n-C15H31 tails have been synthesized and completely characterized. These amphiphiles form good Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films at the air/water interface. Mean molecular areas for the series were measured from the isotherms and found to increase as the number of aliphatic chains increased from one to four. No influence of the subphase pH was observed on the isotherms. LB films can be transferred successfully onto different solid surfaces. The LB films were characterized using tapping mode atomic force microscopy (AFM). Bis-, tris-, and tetra-substituted porphyrins were found to be fairly good film-forming amphiphiles, whereas irregular aggregates were seen in the case of the monosubstituted porphyrin amphiphile. Multilayers were also formed with tetra-substituted amphiphiles on mica. Detailed AFM studies of tetra-substituted amphiphiles have been carried out to investigate the effect of preparation procedure and solid substrates on film formation and transfer. The absorption and fluorescence spectra for the amphiphiles in solution and LB films deposited onto mica and glass were recorded, which demonstrated the successful transfer of LB films onto the substrates and provided more information about the arrangement of porphyrin molecules within the LB films. For comparison, self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) and the cast thin films of the amphiphiles were prepared and characterized.  相似文献

We present results of first principles density functional theory calculations of the electronic and atomic structural properties of model Z-type Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) layers comprising amphiphilic quinolinium tricyanoquinodimethanide (Q3CNQ) chromophores. We find that the chromophore electronic ground state is not as clearly "zwitterionic" as required by models to explain electrical rectification purportedly seen in such systems. The computed visible region transitions are not what have been assumed to be the intervalence charge transfer bands seen in the visible region of molecules in Z-type LB films. Our own LB deposition and spectroscopic studies suggest that almost all visible region features previously seen may be ascribed to aggregates. The calculated lowest energy electronic excitation between HOMO and LUMO levels, which is located in the near infrared region, has a transition moment aligned approximately 9° off the molecular long axis, and has a normalized oscillator strength of 1 order of magnitude higher than those of the visible region transitions. This most dominant feature has been neglected from discussions of Langmuir-Blodgett layer rectification but our own deposition studies show no sign of this feature, indicating that the structure of the modeled system differs from that of typical experimental structures. The model indicates that such idealized LB layer structures cannot confidently be invoked to explain their experimental optical or electrical properties.  相似文献

Sum frequency generation (SFG) vibrational spectra of cadmium arachidate multilayer films adsorbed on a substrate with high nonresonant susceptibility, i.e., gold, and on a low nonresonant susceptibility substrate, i.e., fused quartz, have been investigated in the C-H stretching region in air. The films were formed by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) deposition and their spectra recorded using SFG spectrometers employing both 532-nm nanosecond and 800-nm femtosecond lasers, with counter-propagating and co-propagating beam geometries, respectively. Both kinds of substrate were rendered hydrophobic by coating them with per-deuterated octadecanethiol (gold) or per-deuterated cadmium arachidate (fused quartz) monolayers. Single per-protonated arachidate layers in otherwise per-deuterated 10-layer films were used to show that the SFG resonances arise only from the topmost and lowermost layers in a LB film comprised of an even number of per-protonated layers, although the SFG spectra from the two hydrophobic substrates are different from each other. The differences in the spectra from the same ten-layer per-protonated films deposited on the two types of hydrophobic substrate have been explained in terms of a simple model that accounts for resonant and nonresonant contributions.  相似文献

To improve the homogeneity and stability of single-layer azobenzene LB films on gold, self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of terminally substituted alkyl thiol, HS(CH2)2-X(X=NH2,OH, COOH and CH2SO3Na, respectively), were used to modify the substrates before LB film deposition. It was found that single-layer C8C3 LB films on these modified substrates were more uniform and stable. Reflecion-Absorption(RA) FTIR measurements on these films indicated that at the LB/SAMs interface, ionic bonds. have formed for the modification with -NH2 while hydrogen bonding occurred for modifications with -OH. -COOH and -SO3Na,respectively. It can be concluded that the ionic or hydrogen bonding at the LB/SAM interface is responsible for the improvement in homogeneity and stability. It was believed that the less defected films after the time aging were most probably due to the ionic bond and hydrogen bonding mentioned above.  相似文献

Correlation of molecular organization in crystals and in ultrathin films is of fundamental interest in the design of molecular materials based on thin films. We have chosen as a test case, N‐(2,4‐dinitrophenyl)‐n‐octadecylamine (DNPOA), a potential candidate for the fabrication of Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films for quadratic nonlinear optical applications. Like several other 4‐nitroaniline derivatives, DNPOA does not form stable monolayers at the air–water interface. This has precluded investigations of their organization in LB films. We have stabilized composite Langmuir films of DNPOA with the phospholipid molecule DSPC and fabricated their LB films. Successful growth of single crystals of DNPOA allowed structure determination and detailed analysis of molecular associations in the solid state. Electronic absorption spectra of DNPOA in solution, in the solid state and in the LB film are investigated. Modeling of the various spectral signatures by semiempirical computations on molecular clusters extracted from the crystal lattice provides insight into the correlation between the molecular organization in crystals and in LB films.  相似文献

本文以邻苯二甲酰亚胺为原料,合成了两种新的非对称取代酞菁铜配合物:4-(对羧基苯氧基)-三-4-(2,4-二特戊基苯氧基)酞菁铜(Ⅳ)和4-(邻氨基苯氧基)-三-4-(2,4-二特戊基苯氧基)酞菁铜(Ⅴ)。并经元素分析、红外光谱、核磁共振谱、质谱、顺磁共振谱及紫外光谱,对其结构进行了表征。两种配合物都易溶于二氯甲烷、氯仿和甲苯等有机溶剂,不溶于水。配合物的氯仿溶液能在水面上展开形成单分子膜。π-A曲线测定表明,配合物在亚相液面(水)上,随着表面压力的增大,膜面积连续不停地减少,有明显的“气”“固”变化过程,表明配合物能形成较好的LB膜。分子在膜中主要以倾斜的方式排列。以Z型累积方式沉积于金制梳状电极上的LB膜能导电,属于半导体材料,碘掺杂可改善膜的电导。膜电极的气敏特性研究发现,配合物对氨气有专一的气敏特性,氨气浓度为33ppm时即有响应,且灵敏度高。  相似文献

The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of octadecanoyl ester of 1-(2-carboxyethyl) thymine deposited from pure water and aqueous adenosine subphases were investigated by ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis), Fourier transform infrared-attenuated total reflection (FTIR-ATR), and Fourier transform surface-enhanced Raman scattering (FT-SERS) spectroscopy. The obtained spectral results indicate that the adenosine molecules in the subphase can be transferred onto solid substrates by LB techniques as a result of the formation of base pairs at the air/water interface. UV-vis spectra alternations indicated that, with increasing adenosine concentration in subphase, more adenosine molecules were recognized by nucleolipid monolayer and were transferred onto the quartz substrates. The closed-packing of the constituent molecules facilitates the photodimerization of the thymine moieties in the headgroup under ultraviolet irradiation. FTIR-ATR results suggest that the hydrocarbon chains of nucleolipid in the LB films deposited from pure water and aqueous adenosine take on a close-packed all trans conformation. By analyzing the FT-SERS spectra results, it can be deduced that the orientation of nucleobase in the headgroup is different before and after the recognition effect occurred. For LB film deposited from pure water, the nucleobases are lying flat on the silver substrates; whereas for LB film deposited from aqueous adenosine, the base pairs take an end-on adsorption on silver substrate.  相似文献

A novel perylenetetracarboxylic diimide molecule (2PDI-TAZ), which contains two perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (PDI) attached to a melamine headgroup, was designed and synthesized. Supramolecular self-assemblies were studied in Langmuir and Langmuir–Blodgett films. Surface pressure–area isotherm measurements and the spectroscopic studies indicate that the 2PDI-TAZ molecules adopted a face-to-face configuration and edge-on orientation in Langmuir or the multilayer LB films. The presence of the barbituric acid in subphase change the hydrophilicity of 2PDI-TAZ due to the hydrogen bonding between melamine and barbituric acid, which has been revealed by the πA isotherms and the FT-IR spectra. Transmission electron microscopy images of the LB films deposited from the barbituric acid solution revealed uniform nanowire morphology while the X-ray diffraction studies indicate that the molecules in the solid film packed with high order. The strong excimer emission of 2PDI-TAZ in LB films suggests enforced face-to-face configuration for the PDI unites in LB films in relative to that in solution.  相似文献

The advantage of "self-assembly" (strong covalent binding to substrates) was combined with the advantage of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) or Langmuir-Schaefer (LS) transfer to a solid substrate (quantitative transfer of monolayers to the substrate). The electrical rectification (asymmetric conduction) by a monolayer of thioacetylalkylquinolinium tricyanoquinodimethanide was critically compared when these molecules had been transferred, by such competing techniques, onto gold electrodes, and then covered by a "cold gold" pad electrode. Unimolecular rectification was observed in the expected directions in the LB and LS monolayers. The Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs) were disordered; macroscopic measurements of rectification were unsuccessful for the SAMs, but successful for the down-stroke LB and LS monolayers, whose orientation and potential bonding to the Au surface should be identical to that of an ideal SAM.  相似文献

Two self-assembled monolayer (SAM) films containing the photoswitchable 4-pyridylazophenoxy chromophore have been deposited onto a gold-coated glass substrate. One film contains the chromophore as a single component, 1 SAM, and the other is doped with a nonphotoactive component as a 1:1 mixture, 2 SAM. The reversible photoswitching performances of 1 SAM and 2 SAM via the evanescence field using light of appropriate wavelengths have been investigated by UV spectroscopic and electrochemical monitoring. In principle, the trans-form SAMs present a coordinating surface, the "on" state, that can be switched "off" in the cis form. This has been illustrated by immersing both the as-deposited (trans form) SAMs and the photoswitched (predominantly cis form) SAMs into solutions of cobalt and zinc tetraphenylporphyrin (CoTPP and ZnTPP, respectively) and an octaoctyl-substituted cobalt phthalocyanine. In a further phase of this study, the remote control of binding events at the surface of the SAMs has been demonstrated through evanescent-field-driven photoswitching of trans-form SAMs coordinated at the surfaces with examples of these metallomacrocycles. This photoswitching was undertaken with the constructs immersed in neat toluene, and the macrocycles were released from the surface into the solvent. The release was measured by spectroscopic monitoring of the material remaining on the constructs. The study was extended to develop an in situ release/coordination cycle. Thus, irradiation of a construct of ZnTPP bound to the surface of trans-form 2 SAM using waveguided light at 365 nm releases the macrocycle into a toluene solution of ZnTPP. Further irradiation of the SAM, now in its cis form, with waveguided 439 nm light regenerates the trans form, which recoordinates ZnTPP from the solution. The results demonstrate the potential for using waveguided light to control molecular events within and at the surfaces of SAM constructs.  相似文献

以功能性的钌有机螯合物Ru(phen)_3~(2+)作为亚相离子,花生酸在亚相表面 上形成稳定的单分子膜。π-A等温线和动态弹性测量表明,此膜因花生酸与钌螯离 子发生了静电相互作用而有更大的可压缩性,并在固态区发生了分子聚集。用垂直 法成功地制备了嵌有Ru(phen)_3~(2+)离子的超薄有序Y-型LB膜。光谱实验表明, 所得LB膜是稳定、均匀的层状三明治结构,在层面内Ru(phen)_3~(2+)与花生酸结 合成相对稳定的分子基团形成了J-聚体。  相似文献

This paper reports the fabrication and characterization of Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films incorporating an oligo(phenylene-ethynylene) (OPE) derivative, namely, 4-[4-(4-hexyloxyphenylethynyl)-phenylethynyl]-benzoic acid (HBPEB). Conditions appropriate for deposition of monolayers of HBPEB at the air-water interface have been established and the resulting Langmuir films characterized by a combination of surface pressure and surface potential versus area per molecule isotherms, Brewster angle microscopy, and ultraviolet reflection spectroscopy. The Langmuir films are readily transferred onto solid substrates, and one-layer LB films transferred at several surface pressures onto mica substrates have been analyzed by means of atomic force microscopy, from which it can be concluded that 14 mN/m is an optimum surface pressure of transference, giving well-ordered homogeneous films without three-dimensional defects and a low surface roughness. The optical and emissive properties of the LB films have been determined with significant blue-shifted absorption spectra indicating formation of two-dimensional H aggregates and a Stokes shift illustrating the effects of the solid-like environment on the molecular chromophore.  相似文献

本文研究了三种羧酸取代的四苯基卟啉衍生物在空气/Cd^2^+水溶液界面上所形成的单层膜及LB膜。这三种卟啉衍生物中, 一种没有脂链, 另外两种具有不同长度的脂链。由π-A等温线得到的平均表观分子面积相差很大。紫外-可见光谱表明, LB膜中卟啉的Soret吸收带相对于溶液的吸收均红移, 但红移程度不同。LB膜的偏振紫外-可见光谱表明, LB膜中三种卟啉衍生物的卟啉环具有基本一致的取向。运用亚相降低法得到了三种卟啉衍生物单层LB膜, 其紫外-可见光谱与用垂直提拉法得到的LB膜的紫外-可见光谱具有一致的特征。这些结果表明: 卟啉衍生物有无取代链及取代链长的不同对平均表观分子面积的大小和膜中环间的距离有影响, 但对环的取向没有影响。环的取向由环本身及环上的亲水取代基来确定。气/液界面上三种卟啉衍生物的单层膜中环也具有一致的取向, 且与LB膜中环的取向相差不大。提拉不会对膜中环的取向及膜的结构造成大的改变。  相似文献

合成了含有联苯介晶基团的长链冠醚,并首次制成含液晶基团的冠醚LB膜,由LB膜的荧光光谱研究发现,与其单体在CHCl_3稀溶液中的荧光光谱相比,LB膜的荧光光谱向长波方向移动,表明分子均以缔结状态存在,XRD结果表明,LB膜具有良好的有序结构,单分子膜厚2.6nm。  相似文献

Human red blood cell acetylcholinesterase was incorporated into planar lipid membranes deposited on alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold substrates. Activity of the protein in the membrane was detected with a standard photometric assay and was determined to be similar to the protein in detergent solution or incorporated in lipid vesicles. Monolayer and bilayer lipid membranes were generated by fusing liposomes to hydrophobic and hydrophilic SAMs, respectively. Liposomes were formed by the injection method using the lipid dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC). The formation of alkanethiol SAMs and lipid monolayers on SAMs was confirmed by sessile drop goniometry, ellipsometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. In this work, we report acetylcholinesterase immobilization in lipid membranes deposited on SAMs formed on the gold surface and compare its activity to enzyme in solution.  相似文献

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films at different mole fractions of p-terphenyl have been prepared using two different matrices, viz., stearic acid (SA) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Multilayered LB films have been formed by changing various LB parameters namely, mole fraction of mixing, changing the number of layers as well as also the different surface pressure of lifting. The spectroscopic characteristics of mixed LB films, solution and microcrystal have been compared using UV-vis absorption and steady state fluorescence spectroscopy. Change of planarity of TP molecules are occurred while going from solution to solid states/films. Fluorescence spectra of the mixed LB films reveal intense excimeric emission in the mixed LB films with D1 excimer peak at 397 nm and D2 excimer peak at 412 nm. Various LB parameters namely changing the number of layers as well as the different surface pressure of lifting played important roles in the formation of dual excimeric sites in the mixed LB films.  相似文献

回顾了与Langmuir-Blodgett(LB)技术有关的电荷转移配合物薄膜的各类制备方法、结构表征结果,并比较了制备方法对薄膜结构的影响.例如,将LB膜C18H37TCNQ(电子受体)插入到电子给体3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine(四甲基联苯胺, TMB)的石油醚溶液中进行掺杂,制备了TMB•C18H37TCNQ电荷转移配合物薄膜.在这种薄膜中,给体和受体以面对面的方式堆积,两者的环平面与基片平面接近垂直.而采用硬脂酸和C18H37TCNQ的混合LB膜通过类似的掺杂路线制备的TMB•C18H37TCNQ薄膜的结构发生了一些变化,例如其长的烃链C18H37更加垂直于基片平面.通过比较以前的各种实验结果可以得出以下结论:电荷转移配合物的结构可以通过制备方法得到控制.  相似文献
