Hierarchically disorder sponge-like macro/mesoporous titania was prepared by adding distilled water dropwise to a coating of tetrabutyl titanate. The results reveal that the un-calcined samples show obvious photocatalytic activity and multi-modal pore-size distribution. With increasing calcination temperatures, the photocatalytic activity and crystallinity increase. At 400°C, the calcined sample shows the highest photocatalytic activity. Further increasing the calcination temperatures results in the decrease of photocatalytic activity due to the drastic decrease of specific surface areas. However, the 600°C-calcined sample exhibits the highest specific photocatalytic activity due to high anatase crystallinity.  相似文献

"Mesoporous TiO2 powder and films with worm-like channels were synthesized by an evaporation-induced self-assembly approach. The as-prepared samples were calcined at different temperature to investigate the effect of calcined temperature on the mesostructure and the photocatalytic activity. Acetaldehyde photodegradation in gas phase was employed to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO2. Results showed that all the calcined powder samples exhibited higher photocatalytic activities than that of Degussa P25. The sample calcined at 400 oC, which showed higher activity than other samples, possessed a homogeneous pore diameter of about 6.0 nm and an 11.0 nm crystalline anatase pore wall, as well as large surface area of 117 m2/g. It was speculated that two factors of surface area and crystallinity affected the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO2 photocatalyst. The mesoporous TiO2 films fabricated by spin-coating also had high photocatalytic activities."  相似文献

Mesoporous titanium dioxide nanosized powder with high specific surface area and anatase wall was synthesized via hydrothermal process by using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as surfactant-directing agent and pore-forming agent. The resulting materials were characterized by XRD, nitrogen adsorption, FESEM, TEM, and FT-IR spectroscopy. The as-synthesized mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles have mean diameter of 17.6 nm with mean pore size of 2.1 nm. The specific surface area of the as-synthesized mesoporous nanosized TiO2 exceeded 430 m2/g and that of the samples after calcination at 600 degrees C still have 221.9 m2/g. The mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles show significant activities on the oxidation of Rhodamine B (RB). The large surface area, small crystalline size, and well-crystallized anatase mesostructure can explain the high photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles calcined at 400 degrees C.  相似文献

Starting from colloidal TiO2 nanoparticles in combination with tetraethyl orthosilicate using neutral Pluronic or cationic cetyltrimethylammonium as templates, a series of structured mesoporous silicas has been obtained. The structure of the mesoporous titania was confirmed by isothermal gas adsorption, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The pore diameter ranged between 3.8 and 10.9 nm, and the BET surface area varied from 99 to 584 m2 g(-1). The photocatalytic activity of these samples for the degradation of phenol in aqueous solution has been compared with that of standard P-25 TiO2. Even though the activity of these new mesostructured materials is lower that those found for P-25 TiO2, the turnover frequency of the photocatalytic activity (moles of phenol degraded per Ti atom present at initial reaction time) is much higher for the mesoporous titania, particularly with low titanium contents for those materials (mpTiO2-5 and TiO2SBA15-5).  相似文献

We demonstrate practical aerosol-assisted approach to synthesize spherical mesoporous titania particles with high surface areas. Scanning electron microscopy observation of the spray-dried products clearly shows spherical morphology. To remove surfactants and enhance crystallinity, the spray-dried products are calcined under various temperatures. The crystalline structures inside the particles are carefully detected by wide-angle XRD measurements. With increase of the calcination temperatures, anatase crystal growth proceeds and transformation from anatase to rutile is occurred. The effect of various calcination temperatures on the mesostructures is also studied by using N2 adsorption desorption isotherms. The mesoporous titania particles calcined at 350, 400, and 500 °C exhibit type IV isotherms with a capillary condensation step and shows a hysteresis loop, which is a characteristic of mesoporous materials. The reduction in the surface areas and the pore volumes is confirmed by increasing the calcination temperatures, while the average pore diameters are increased gradually. This is attributed to the distortion of the mesostructures due to the grain growth of the anatase phase and the transformation to the rutile phase during the calcination process. As a preliminary experimental photocatalytic activity, oxidative decomposition of acetaldehyde under UV irradiation is examined. The mesoporous titania calcined at 400 °C shows the highest photocatalytic activity, due to both high surface area and well-developed anatase crystalline phase.  相似文献

Mesoporous TiO(2) materials with various pore-size distributions were synthesized by using diblock copolymers via a sol-gel process in aqueous solution. The properties of these materials were characterized by FE-SEM, HR-TEM, XRD, DRS, BET, and BJH analysis. All particles have spherical morphology with a diameter range of 1-3 mum. The mesoporous TiO(2) materials calcined at 400 degrees C were found to have different specific surface areas - 186, 210, and 192 m(2) g(-1) - and average pore sizes depending on the type of diblock copolymer-5.1, 6.1, and 6.4 nm-and their crystallite sizes were found to be 8.1, 8.3, and 8.8 nm. The photocatalytic activity of each sample was investigated by measuring the photodecomposition of methylene blue (MB), and the small crystallite size, large surface area, and small pore size were found to exhibit better photocatalytic activities. In addition, the photocatalytic activities of all the mesoporous TiO(2) materials were found to be better than that of commercial TiO(2).  相似文献

TiO(2)-xSiO(2) composites with a high specific surface area (up to 645 m(2)/g), large pore volume, and narrow distribution with average pore sizes ranging from 15 to 20 A have been synthesized by the sol-gel method. The results of characterization by XRD, BET, TEM, FTIR, and DRUV reveal that these TiO(2)-xSiO(2) composites exhibit a core/shell structure of a nano titania/Ti-O-Si species modified titania embedded in mesoporous silica. As compared to pure anatase, the embedding of nano titania particles into the mesoporous silica matrix results in a substantial blue shift of absorption edge from 3.2 to 3.54 eV and higher UV absorption intensity, which are attributed to the formation of the Ti-O-Si species modified titania in the interface between titania and silica. The as-synthesized TiO(2)-xSiO(2) composites exhibit both much higher absorption capability of organic pollutants and better photocatalytic activity for the photooxidation of benzene than pure titania. The better photocatalytic activity of as-synthesized TiO(2)-xSiO(2) composites than pure titania is attributed to their high surface area, higher UV absorption intensity, and easy diffusion of absorbed pollutants on the absorption sites to photogenerated oxidizing radicals on the photoactive sites.  相似文献

Various hierarchical porous titania with high surface area over 600 m(2)/g have been synthesized via a spontaneous self-formation process from titanium alkoxides by a water adjusting approach using acetonitrile as reaction medium. The reactivity of metal alkoxides and the water content in acetonitrile medium on the resultant structure have been investigated. The porosities of the products were characterized by SEM, TEM and N(2) adsorption-desorption measurements. The observation on the evolution of porous structure with increasing water content in reaction system is essential for a better understanding of hierarchical porous structure formation over different length scales by this self-formation process. The creation of macro/micropores in photocatalytic titania materials has been found to enhance the photocatalytic activity due to both the action of macrochannels as light harvester and the easy diffusion effect of organic molecules. The present work shows clearly that hierarchically porous titania with the presence of macroporous structure and high surface area can be very efficient photocatalysts, suggesting their potential applications in water treatment as decontamination materials.  相似文献

Hierarchical macro‐/mesoporous N‐doped TiO2/graphene oxide (N‐TiO2/GO) composites were prepared without using templates by the simple dropwise addition mixed solution of tetrabutyl titanate and ethanol containg graphene oxide (GO) to the ammonia solution, and then calcined at 350 °C. The as‐prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller (BET) surface area, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV‐Vis absorption spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in an aqueous solution under visible‐light irradiation. The results show that N‐TiO2/GO composites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity. GO content exhibited an obvious influence on photocatalytic performance, and the optimal GO addition content was 1 wt%. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the synergetic effects of three factors including the improved visible light absorption, the hierarchical macro‐mesoporous structure, and the efficient charge separation by GO.  相似文献

A simple synthetic method was employed to prepare mesoporous titania with anatase crystalline walls and high photocatalytic activity. The properties and structures of mesoporous titania were characterized by means of low angle and wide angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform (FT)-IR spectra, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and N2 adsorption–desorption. The characteristic results clearly show that crystallization rate of the mesoporous titania affects the stability of the mesoporous structure after reflux, and that the anatase crystal in the mesoporous wall of mesoporous titania can stabilize the mesoporous structure. The photocatalytic activity of titania powder was evaluated from an analysis of the photodegradation of methyl orange under UV irradiation. The results indicate that the titania powder with mesoporous structure shows the highest photocatalytic activity.

The hybrid microspheres with polystyrene core coated by titania nanoparticles were prepared by miniemulsion polymerization, and the as-prepared samples were characterized by SEM, XRD, TG-DTA, XPS, and SPS techniques. TiO2 nanoparticles experienced two processes of phase transition, i.e., amorphous to anatase and anatase to rutile at the calcining temperature range from 400 to 1000 degrees C. The phase transformation temperature of TiO2 hybrid microspheres from anatase to rutile was increased by about 300 degrees C due to the blocking function of calcined polymer remainder. SPS results present that the band-gap of hybrid microspheres is 3.2-3.4 eV, which is larger than that of pure TiO2. The maximum intensity of the SPS signal is about 3 times larger for the hybrid material as compared to the pure TiO2. In addition, the photocatalytic degradation rate of TiO2 hybrid microspheres was 15% faster than that of pure TiO2 in the experiment of the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles supported on P25 titania (Au/TiO(2)) exhibit photocatalytic activity for UV and visible light (532 nm laser or polychromatic light λ > 400 nm) water splitting. The efficiency and operating mechanism are different depending on whether excitation occurs on the titania semiconductor (gold acting as electron buffer and site for gas generation) or on the surface plasmon band of gold (photoinjection of electrons from gold onto the titania conduction band and less oxidizing electron hole potential of about -1.14 V). For the novel visible light photoactivity of Au/TiO(2), it has been determined that gold loading, particle size and calcination temperature play a role in the photocatalytic activity, the most active material (Φ(H2) = 7.5% and Φ(O2) = 5.0% at 560 nm) being the catalyst containing 0.2 wt % gold with 1.87 nm average particle size and calcined at 200 °C.  相似文献

The photocatalytic behaviour of a series of ammonium fluoride (NH(4)F)-doped titania (TiO(2)) photocatalysts was investigated in the decomposition of acetic acid in aqueous suspensions and in the gas phase mineralization of acetaldehyde. Very similar photocatalytic activity trends, usually increasing with increasing the calcination temperature for a given nominal dopant amount, were obtained for the two test reactions. Moderately doped TiO(2) calcined at 700 °C, consisting of pure anatase, was the best performing photocatalyst in both reactions. The photocatalytic oxidation of acetic acid was investigated systematically as a function of irradiation wavelength, by collecting so-called action spectra. By comparing the shapes of the action spectra with those of the absorption spectra of the investigated photocatalysts a model is proposed, based on spectral features deconvolution, which allows a clear distinction between inactive light absorption and effective photoactivity in acetic acid decomposition.  相似文献

Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3 DOM) M/Ti (M=Zr or Ta) mixed oxides were prepared by cohydrolysis of a mixture of Zr(n-OC(4)H(9))(4)/TTIP or TaCl(5)/TTIP (TTIP=titanium isopropoxide) combined with a polystyrene (PS) latex sphere templating technique. The resulting products exhibited homogeneous wall compositions, namely, Zr or Ta was uniformly dispersed into the TiO(2) framework with the loading levels of 5, 10, and 20 mol% for Zr and 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 mol% for Ta, respectively. The estimated macropore diameter, wall thickness, and particle size of the products ranged from 280 to 290 nm, from 30 to 50 nm, and from 10 to 12 nm, respectively. The products showed only anatase phase structure although their starting solitary metal oxides exhibited suitable crystalline structures under the same preparation conditions. Raman scattering spectroscopy showed that the crystal structure of titania had a slight interference due to the incorporation of Zr or Ta, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) showed the narrower band gap of the products compared with that of pure anatase TiO(2). The products exhibited mesoporous wall structures, and their BET surface areas were higher than those of the corresponding pure 3 DOM metal oxides. The UV-light photocatalytic activity of the products was assessed by monitoring the photodegradation of two organic molecules including 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and rhodamine B (RB). Both the photocatalytic reactions confirmed that the presence of the second metal oxide in the titania framework resulted in enhanced photocatalytic activity compared with the pure titania framework.  相似文献

Highly photoactive bi-phase nanocrystalline TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared by a solvent evaporation-induced crystallization (SEIC) method, and calcined at different temperatures. The obtained TiO2 photocatalyst was characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and BET surface areas. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic oxidation of acetone in air. The results show that solvent evaporation can promote the crystallization and phase transformation of TiO2 at 100℃. When calcination temperatures are below 600℃, the prepared TiO2 powders show bimodal pore size distributions in the mesoporous region. At 700℃, the pore size distributions exhibit monomodal distribution of the inter-aggregated pores due to the collapse of the intra-aggregated pores. At 100℃, the obtained TiO2 photocatalyst by this method shows good photocatalytic activity, and at 400℃, its photocatalytic activity exceeds that of Degussa P25. This may be attributed to the fact t  相似文献

Constructing a porous structure in photocatalysts is an effective strategy for improving the photocatalytic activity because of its enhanced molecule transfer capability and light capturing efficiency. In this work, a hierarchical macro‐/mesoporous ZnS/TiO2 composite with macrochannels was successfully synthesized without using templates by the simple dropwise addition of an ethanol solution of tetrabutyl titanate and zinc acetate into a sodium sulfide aqueous solution, which was then calcined at 450°C. Compared with pure TiO2, the ordered porous ZnS/TiO2 composite exhibited an enhanced photocatalytic activity on methylene blue removal under UV‐light irradiation. The results indicate that the macro‐/mesoporous structure, the large specific surface area, and the heterostructure combination between ZnS and TiO2 play a synergistic effect on the enhanced photocatalytic activity via improving the light absorption and the diffusion of organic molecules, providing more reactive sites for the photocatalytic reaction and improving the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, respectively. Radical trapping experiments demonstrated that holes (h+) and superoxide anion radicals (O2) play an important role in the photocatalytic oxidation process.  相似文献

The formation of mesoporous TiO2 spheres via a facile chemical process   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
The mesoporous TiO(2) solid and hollow spheres have been synthesized via a controllable and simple chemical route. Structural characterization indicates that these TiO(2) mesoporous spheres after calcined at 500 degrees C have an obvious mesoporous structure with the diameters of 200-300 nm for solid spheres and 200-500 nm for hollow spheres. The average pore sizes and BET surface areas of the mesoporous TiO(2) solid and hollow spheres are 6.8, 7.0 nm and 162, 90 m(2)/g, respectively. Optical adsorption investigation shows that TiO(2) solid and hollow spheres possess a direct band gap structure with the optical band gap of 3.68 and 3.75 eV, respectively. A possible formation mechanism for TiO(2) solid and hollow spheres is discussed.  相似文献
