The performance of octahydroxycalix[4]arene derivative used as a neutral carrier for silver polymeric membrane electrode was studied. The sensor gave a good Nernstian response of 58 +/- 1 mV per decade for silver ion in the activity range 3.3 x 10(-6) to 3.3 x 10(-2) M Ag+. The limit of detection reached 2.1 x 10(-6) M Ag+ and exhibited high selectivity for silver ion against the alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal ions. The sensor can be used in wide pH range from 1.5 to 6.5. The response time of the sensor is less than 20 s. The potentiometric sensor was used as the indicator electrode in the titration of Ag+ ions by sodium chloride solution.  相似文献

A silver ion-selective electrode was prepared with a polymeric membrane incorporating 2,6-bis-methylsulfanyl-[1,3,5]thiadiazine-4-thione as an ionophore, tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP) as a plasticizer and sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as an additive. The electrode exhibited a near-Nernstian response of 52 mV/decade over a wide linear concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-5) - 1.0 x 10(-1) M with a lower detection limit of 9.77 x 10(-6) M. The electrode exhibited excellent selectivity for silver ion over many of the alkali, alkaline-earth and transition metal ions. The electrode worked well over a wide pH range of 1.77 - 7.13. The response time of the electrode was less than 20 s. The sensor can be applied as indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of Ag+ ions with Cl- ions.  相似文献

A novel membrane coated platinum-wire electrode (MCPWE) based on N,N'-bis(2-thienylmethylene)-1,2-diaminobenzene (BTMD) for highly selective determination of Ag+ ion has been developed. The influences of membrane composition and pH on the potentiometric responses of electrode were investigated. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the range of 5.0 - 9.0. The electrode shows a linear response for Ag+ ion over the concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-60 to 1.0 x 10(-1) M with a lower detection limit of 6.0 x 10(-7) M. The electrode possesses a Nernstian slope of 59.7 mV decade(-1) and a fast response time of < or = 17 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any observable deviation. The proposed electrode displayed very good selectivity for Ag+ ion with respect to NH4+ and alkali, alkaline earth and some common transition metal ions. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as the indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of an AgNO3 solution with a NaI solution and in determination of the silver content of a developed radiological film.  相似文献

A PVC membrane electrode for silver(I) ion based on Schiff base-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene is reported. The electrode works well over a wide range of concentration (1.0 x 10(-5)-1.0 x 10(-1) mol dm-3) with a Nernstian slope of 59.7 mV per decade. The electrode shows a fast response time of 20 s and operates in the pH range 1.0-5.6. The sensor can be used for more than 6 months without any divergence in the potential. The selectivity of the electrode was studied and it was found that the electrode exhibits good selectivity for silver ion over some alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal ions. The silver ion-selective electrode was used as an indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of silver ion in solution using a standard solution of sodium chloride; a sharp potential change occurs at the end-point. The applicability of the sensor to silver(I) ion measurement in water samples spiked with silver nitrate is illustrated.  相似文献

A novel kinetic method for determination of trace amounts of cobalt ion was proposed and validated. The method is based on adding malic acid into classical Belousov-Zhabotinskii (B-Z) oscillating chemical system to form a double substrate one. The results showed that when the concentration of cobalt ion was in the range of 5.27× 10^-8 to 5.37 × 10^-12 mol L^-1, the change of the oscillating period was directly proportional to the negative logarithm of cobalt ion concentration. The sensitivity and precision of the developed method were quite satisfactory. The limit of detection was down to 5.20 × 10^-13 mol L^-1 which was a highest sensitivity found for determination of metal ions using oscillating chemical reaction so far. Some factors influencing the determination were also examined. The method has been successfully used to determine cobalt ion in vitamin B12 injection.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that acetylcholine may be determined potentiometrically in capillary electrophoresis down to 6 x 10(-7) M with a miniature coated-wire ion selective electrode. The more established amperometric method is not possible for this compound. Similarly, 4-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is not accessible amperometrically; although potentiometric detection was possible, the sensitivity is not good. Other neurotransmitters may be determined by either method, but in these cases amperometric determination is generally favorable. For serotonin the potentiometric detection limit was 4 x 10(-5) M, while for the amperometric method a detection limit of 10(-7) M was found.  相似文献

It has a fast response time of about 10 s and can be used for at least 10 weeks without observing any deviation. The proposed membrane sensor revealed good selectivity for Al(3+) over a wide variety of other metal ions and could be used in pH range of 2.9-5.0. Stepwise potentiometric titration of cyanide and hexacyanoferrate(II) with silver nitrate is possible in the absence of potassium ions. At an initial concentration below 5.00 x 10(-4)M, cyanide can be titrated with silver nitrate (Ag:CN = 1:2) and the end-point indicated by precipitation of silver hexacyanoferrate(II); hexacyanoferrate(II) can be titrated with silver nitrate (Ag: Fe(CN)(6) = 4:1) and the end-point indicated by precipitation of silver dicyanoargentate. The hexacyanoferrate(II) reacts with silver to form two poorly soluble salts, Ag(4)Fe(CN)(6), KAg(3)Fe(CN)(6). The formation of these salts has been confirmed by conductometric titration of hexacyanoferrate(II) with silver nitrate in solutions containing varying concentrations of potassium nitrate.  相似文献

A new method has been devised for the determination of concentrations of chloride ion from approximately 10-6 to 2·10-4 M. The test solution is equilibrated with solid silver chloride, the silver ion concentration is determined by potentiometric titration with iodide ion, and the chloride concentration is calculated by the solubility product principle. Chloride concentrations near 10-6 M can be determined with an accuracy of about ±5%, and at 10-5 M the error is within ±0.5%. Chloride concentrations above 2-3· 10-4 M cannot be accurately determined because of the formation of AgCl2-.  相似文献

A potentiometric titration method using a cationic surfactant as an indicator cation and a plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode sensitive to the cationic surfactant is proposed for the determination of polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB-HCl), which is a cationic polyelectrolyte. A sample solution of PHMB-HCl containing an indicator cation (hexadecyltrimethylammonium ion, HTA) was titrated with a standard solution of an anionic polyelectrolyte, potassium poly(vinyl sulfate) (PVSK). The end-point was detected as a sharp potential change due to an abrupt decrease in the concentration of the indicator cation, HTA, which is caused by its association with PVSK. The effects of the concentrations of HTA ion and coexisting electrolytes in the sample solution on the degree of the potential change at the end-point were examined. A linear relationship between the concentration of PHMB-HCl and the end-point volume of the titrant exists in the concentration range from 2.0 x 10(-5) to 4.0 x 10(-4) M in the case that the concentration of HTA is 1.0 x 10(-5) M, and that from 1.0 x 10(-6) to 1.2 x 10(-5) M in the case that the concentration of HTA is 5.0 x 10(-6) M, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of PHMB-HCl in some contact-lens detergents.  相似文献

The electrochemical response characteristics of poly(vinyl)chloride (PVC) based membrane sensors for determination of tetramisole hydrochloride (TmCl) is described. The membranes of these electrodes consist of tetramisole-tetraphenyl borate (Tm-TPB), chlorophenyl borate (Tm-ClPB), and phosphotungstate (Tm(3)-PT) ion associations dispersed in a PVC matrix with dibutylpthalate as a plasticizer. The electrodes were fully characterized in terms of composition, life span, usable pH range, and working concentration range and ionic strength. The electrodes showed Nernstian response over the concentration ranges of 7.4 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M, 1.7 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M, and 5.6 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M TmCl, respectively, and were applied to the potentiometric determination of tetramisole ion in pure solutions and pharmaceutical preparations. The potentiometric determination was also used in the determination of tetramisole in pharmaceutical preparations in four batches of different expiration dates. The electrodes exhibited good selectivity for TmCl with respect to a large number of excipients such as inorganic cations, organic cations, amino acids, and sugars. The solubility product of the ion-pair and the formation constant of the precipitation reaction leading to the ion-pair formation were determined conductometrically. The new potentiometric method offers the advantages of high-throughput determination, simplicity, accuracy, automation feasibility, and applicability to turbid and colored sample solutions.  相似文献

The construction and characterization of potentiometric membrane electrodes are described for the quantification of alfuzosin, a drug used in a mono- and combined therapy of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The membranes of these electrodes consist of alfuzosin hydrochloride-tetraphenyl borate, (Az-TPB), chlorophenyl borate (Az-ClPB), and phosphotungstate (Az(3)-PT) ion associations as molecular recognition reagent dispersed in PVC matrix with dioctylpthalate as plasticizer. The performance characteristics of these electrodes, which were evaluated according to IUPAC recommendations, revealed a fast, stable and liner response for alfuzosin over the concentration ranges of 8.3 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M, 3.8 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M, 7.5 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-2) M AzCl with cationic slopes of 57.0, 56.0 and 58.5 mV/decade, respectively. The solubility product of the ion-pair and the formation constant of the precipitation reaction leading to the ion-pair formation were determined conductometrically. The electrodes, fully characterized in terms of composition, life span and usable pH range, were applied to the potentiometric determination of alfuzosin hydrochloride ion in different pharmaceutical preparations and biological fluids without any interference from excipients or diluents commonly used in drug formulations. The potentiometric method was also used in the determination of alfuzosin hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparations in four batches with different expiration dates. Validation of the method showed suitability of the proposed electrodes for use in the quality control assessment of alfuzosin hydrochloride. This potentiometric method offers the advantages of high-throughput determination, simplicity, accuracy, automation feasibility, and applicability to turbid and colored sample solutions.  相似文献

A novel iodide ion-selective electrode has been produced based on a molecular deposition technique in which water-soluble porphyrin was alternatively deposited with water-soluble polypyrrole on a 2-aminoethanethiol modified silver electrode. The potentiometric response is independent of pH of the solution between pH 1 and 7, while it is dependent on the nature of the medium. The electrode has a linear dynamic range between 1.6x10(-6) and 0.1 M with a Nernstian slope of 59 mV/decade and a detection limit of 1.0x10(-6) M in acetate buffer (0.1 M, pH 4.6). The electrode has the advantages of low resistance, short conditioning time and fast response.  相似文献
