The quantized stationary spin wave modes in one-dimensional antiferromagnetic spin chains with easy axis on-site anisotropy have been studied by means of Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert spin dynamics. We demonstrate that the confined antiferromagnetic chains show a unique behavior having no equivalent, neither in ferromagnetism nor in acoustics. The discrete energy dispersion is split into two interpenetrating n and n' levels caused by the existence of two sublattices. The oscillations of individual sublattices as well as the standing wave pattern strongly depend on the boundary conditions. Particularly, acoustical and optical antiferromagnetic spin waves in chains with boundaries fixed (pinned) on different sublattices can be found, while an asymmetry of oscillations appears if the two pinned ends belong to the same sublattice.  相似文献

Samples from a high-dimensional first-order auto-regressive process generated by an independently and identically distributed random innovation sequence are observed by a sender which can communicate only finitely many bits per unit time to a receiver. The receiver seeks to form an estimate of the process value at every time instant in real-time. We consider a time-slotted communication model in a slow-sampling regime where multiple communication slots occur between two sampling instants. We propose a successive update scheme which uses communication between sampling instants to refine estimates of the latest sample and study the following question: Is it better to collect communication of multiple slots to send better refined estimates, making the receiver wait more for every refinement, or to be fast but loose and send new information in every communication opportunity? We show that the fast but loose successive update scheme with ideal spherical codes is universally optimal asymptotically for a large dimension. However, most practical quantization codes for fixed dimensions do not meet the ideal performance required for this optimality, and they typically will have a bias in the form of a fixed additive error. Interestingly, our analysis shows that the fast but loose scheme is not an optimal choice in the presence of such errors, and a judiciously chosen frequency of updates outperforms it.  相似文献

Coupled plasmon modes have been studied theoretically in periodic chains of nanoshell particles embedded in a graded dielectric host. These chains not only sustain a variety of localized modes as unshelled nanoparticle chains, but also offer precise control of the localization-delocalization transition among these modes by varying the permittivity contrast and/or core-shell radius ratio. By optimizing these parameters, the upper band can be tuned into higher frequencies while the lower band can be tuned into the optical communication frequencies for practical application. We also discuss the Ohmic loss effects in the metallic component of the nanoshells.  相似文献

High frequency ESR measurements on the chromium spinel compound CdCr2O4 have been performed. The observed ESR modes below Hc' approximately 5.7 T can be explained well by the calculated resonance modes based on a molecular field theory assuming a helical spin structure. Other than the fundamental ones, we have succeeded in observing the higher-harmonic modes for the first time. A large change of the ESR modes above Hc' indicate that a variation of the spin structure from the helical to the four-sublattice canted one takes place around Hc'.  相似文献

高效率光量子信息存储是可扩展光量子信息处理的一个重要工具.本文对一个冷原子系综中两正交光场偏振模的高效率存储进行了实验研究.通过在雪茄型冷原子系统上施加一个中等强度的磁场,消除了原子Zeeman子能级的简并性,从而使磁敏感自旋波从电磁感应透明系统中被移出,由此完成了两正交光场偏振模高效率、长寿命的量子存储.实验测量了两偏振模存储效率与存储时间以及实验重复频率的关系,结果表明,随着重复频率的增加,存储效率逐渐降低,在10 Hz时,测量得到两偏振模存储效率为30%,同时存储寿命达到3 ms.测量结果为偏振纠缠在冷原子系统中的存储提供了重要的实验基础.  相似文献

光学涡旋的产生、传输与应用是当前光学领域的研究热点之一.光学涡旋具有轨道角动量,作为一种全新的自由度,丰富了目前光通信的方式.利用面向目标的共轭对称延拓傅里叶计算全息技术,基于空间光调制器,用单束激光直接产生混合光模式阵列进行编码通信.采用由单光涡和复合光涡构成的4种易于识别的模式组成2×2混合光模式阵列,进行灰度图像的编码传输.在接收端提取混合光模式阵列图的信息并进行解码,实现零误码的灰度图像再现.以传输一幅Lena图像为例,使用2×2混合光模式阵列进行编码通信,相对于传统单光涡编码通信,其信息容量可增加4倍.该方法光路简单易行,可扩展性强,进一步拓展使用4×4混合光模式阵列进行编码通信,信息容量提升16倍.提出的混合光模式阵列编码通信方法对于提高信息传输容量具有重要价值.  相似文献

We investigate the coherence properties of individual nuclear spin quantum bits in diamond [Dutt, Science 316, 1312 (2007)10.1126/science.1139831] when a proximal electronic spin associated with a nitrogen-vacancy (N-V) center is being interrogated by optical radiation. The resulting nuclear spin dynamics are governed by time-dependent hyperfine interaction associated with rapid electronic transitions, which can be described by a spin-fluctuator model. We show that due to a process analogous to motional averaging in nuclear magnetic resonance, the nuclear spin coherence can be preserved after a large number of optical excitation cycles. Our theoretical analysis is in good agreement with experimental results. It indicates a novel approach that could potentially isolate the nuclear spin system completely from the electronic environment.  相似文献

We investigate certain classes of integrable classical or quantum spin systems. The first class is characterized by the recursively defined property P saying that the spin system consists of a single spin or can be decomposed into two uniformly coupled or disjoint subsystems with property P. For these systems the time evolution can be explicitly calculated. The second class consists of spin systems where all non-zero coupling constants have the same strength (spin graphs) possessing N − 1 independent, commuting constants of motion of Heisenberg type. These systems are shown to have the above property P and can be characterized as spin graphs not containing chains of length four as vertex-induced sub-graphs. We completely enumerate and characterize all spin graphs up to N = 5 spins. Applications to the construction of symplectic numerical integrators for non-integrable spin systems are briefly discussed.   相似文献

We present a hierarchical modulation coherent communication protocol, which simultaneously achieves classical optical communication and continuous-variable quantum key distribution. Our hierarchical modulation scheme consists of a quadrature phase-shifting keying modulation for classical communication and a four-state discrete modulation for continuous-variable quantum key distribution. The simulation results based on practical parameters show that it is feasible to transmit both quantum information and classical information on a single carrier. We obtained a secure key rate of \(10^{-3}\) bits/pulse to \(10^{-1}\) bits/pulse within 40 kilometers, and in the meantime the maximum bit error rate for classical information is about \(10^{-7}\). Because continuous-variable quantum key distribution protocol is compatible with standard telecommunication technology, we think our hierarchical modulation scheme can be used to upgrade the digital communication systems to extend system function in the future.  相似文献

基于同一混沌信号光注入下两个1550 nm垂直腔面发射激光器 (VCSELs) 中两对应线性偏振模式之间的混沌同步, 提出了一种可实现信息的长距离双向双信道光纤混沌保密通信的系统模型, 并对该系统的同步、双向双信道通信以及光纤信道对信息传输的影响等性能进行了相关仿真研究. 结果表明: 在由驱动混沌激光器所产生的同一混沌光注入下, 两响应激光器中对应的两线偏振模式之间均可实现高质量的等时混沌同步, 且驱动激光器与两响应激光器间的同步系数较低; 基于两响应激光器之间对应线偏振模式的高质量混沌同步, 可实现双向双信道混沌通信; 采用单模保偏光纤 (或色散位移保偏光纤) 作为通信信道, 2.5 Gbit/s信息在传输60 km (或200 km) 后解调信息的Q因子能保持在6以上. 关键词: 垂直腔面发射激光器 (VCSELs) 双向双信道 混沌通信 光纤  相似文献

We investigate the effect of phase shift on the perfect state transfer through two parallel one-dimensional ring-shaped spin chains. We find that the total success probability can be significantly enhanced by phase shift control when the communication channel consists of two odd chains. The average time to gain unit success probability is discussed, showing that a proper phase shift can be used to enhance the efficiency of state transmission.  相似文献

I propose a quantum metrology protocol for measuring frequencies and weak forces based on a periodic modulating quantum Jahn–Teller system composed of a single spin and two bosonic modes. I show that, in the first order of the frequency drive, the time-independent effective Hamiltonian describes spin-dependent interaction between the two bosonic modes. In the limit of high-frequency drive and low bosonic frequency, the quantum Jahn–Teller system exhibits critical behavior which can be used for high-precision quantum estimation. A major advantage of the scheme is the robustness of the system against spin decoherence, which allows it to perform parameter estimation with measurement time not limited by spin dephasing.  相似文献

We present results from an optical implementation of quantum orienteering, a protocol for communicating directions in space using quantum bits. We show how different types of measurements and encodings can be used to increase the communication efficiency. In particular, if Alice and Bob use two spin- particles for communication and employ joint measurements, they do better than is possible with local operations and classical communication. Furthermore, by using oppositely oriented spins, the achievable communication efficiency is further increased. Finally, we discuss the limitations of an optical approach: our results highlight the usually overlooked nonequivalence of different physical encodings of quantum bits.  相似文献

We demonstrate a robust implementation of a deterministic linear-optical controlled-not gate for single-photon two-qubit quantum logic. A polarization Sagnac interferometer with an embedded 45 degrees -oriented dove prism is used to enable the polarization control qubit to act on the momentum (spatial) target qubit of the same photon. The optical controlled-not gate requires no active stabilization because the two spatial modes share a common path, and it is used to entangle the polarization and momentum qubits.  相似文献

We show that communication without a shared reference frame is possible using entangled states. Both classical and quantum information can be communicated with perfect fidelity without a shared reference frame at a rate that asymptotically approaches one classical bit or one encoded qubit per transmitted qubit. We present an optical scheme to communicate classical bits without a shared reference frame using entangled photon pairs and linear optical Bell state measurements.  相似文献

We propose a teleportation protocol and a dense coding protocol. In these protocols, one sender intends to send quantum states or classical bits to two receivers through two GHZ entanglement channels. The entanglement channels are locked by the sender and the communication process is supervised by a controller. We present and compare different approaches for using multiple Graphics Processing Units in the simulation of physical systems. As benchmarks we consider the time required to update a single spin of the 3D Heisenberg spin glass model, by using both the Over-relaxation and the Heat Bath algorithms, and the solution of a Poisson equation by using a finite-difference method. The results show that a suitable combination of techniques allows to hide almost completely the communication overhead by using the CPU as a communication coprocessor of the GPU. Large scale simulations on clusters of GPUs can be efficiently carried out by following the same approach for other applications where a clear cut exists between bulk and boundaries data.  相似文献

We describe two quantum channels that individually cannot send any classical information without some chance of decoding error. But together a single use of each channel can send quantum information perfectly reliably. This proves that the zero-error classical capacity exhibits superactivation, the extreme form of the superadditivity phenomenon in which entangled inputs allow communication over zero-capacity channels. But our result is stronger still, as it even allows zero-error quantum communication when the two channels are combined. Thus our result shows a new remarkable way in which entanglement across two systems can be used to resist noise, in this case perfectly. We also show a new form of superactivation by entanglement shared between sender and receiver.  相似文献

Abstract

A fast bits allocation algorithm is proposed for adaptively modulated optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing multimode fiber communication system to decrease the system bit error rate caused by some orthogonal frequency division multiplexing subcarriers being located at the deep nulls in the high-frequency region of multimode fiber. Based on a lookup table scheme, the new algorithm dramatically decreases the computational complexity of the Greedy algorithm. The simulation results show that the new algorithm has the same allocation result as the Greedy algorithm, but the computational complexity is considerably lower. In addition, adaptive bits allocation can effectively reduce the system bit error rate.  相似文献

在光纤通信、光纤激光器和光纤传感等领域的实际应用中,需要重点关注光纤中的模式问题。模分复用是提高光通信信息容量的有效方法,模间干涉是大多数光纤传感的基本方法,高功率光纤激光的光束质量控制的关键技术之一就是模式控制,因此,对光纤模式理论、模式产生及转换、模式表征技术开展研究具有重要的研究意义和实际应用价值。论文讨论了光纤的模式及光束质量,分析了多种模式发生及转换的方法,将模式表征方法归结为非相干、相干和低相干测量法。光纤模式表征是目前的研究热点,在多种表征方法中,空间和频谱成像法(S2)和双重傅里叶变换法(F2)具有显著的优越性,可不需要提前知道光纤的几何参数,就可获得模场分布、模式功率占比、群时延等特性。研究表明F2法更适合于表征高功率光纤激光的模场特性。  相似文献
