研究了单输入多时滞的离散时间系统的线性二次调节问题(LQR问题),给出了求解最优控制输入序列的一种简单有效而又新颖的方法.将该动态的离散时滞系统的LQR最优控制问题最终转化成了一个静态的、不带时滞的数学规划模型——带等式线性约束的严格凸二次规划问题,并利用两种方法解这个二次规划问题,均成功地导出了系统的最优控制输入序列.仿真结果验证了我们的方法的正确有效性.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of minimizing an indefinite quadratic function subject to a single indefinite quadratic constraint. A key difficulty with this problem is its nonconvexity. Using Lagrange duality, we show that under a mild assumption, this problem can be solved by solving a linearly constrained convex univariate minimization problem. Finally, the superior efficiency of the new approach compared to the known semidefinite relaxation and a known approach from the literature is demonstrated by solving several randomly generated test problems.  相似文献

The problem of minimizing a (non-convex) quadratic function over the simplex (the standard quadratic optimization problem) has an exact convex reformulation as a copositive programming problem. In this paper we show how to approximate the optimal solution by approximating the cone of copositive matrices via systems of linear inequalities, and, more refined, linear matrix inequalities (LMI's). In particular, we show that our approach leads to a polynomial-time approximation scheme for the standard quadratic optimzation problem. This is an improvement on the previous complexity result by Nesterov who showed that a 2/3-approximation is always possible. Numerical examples from various applications are provided to illustrate our approach.  相似文献

This paper proposes a column generation approach based on the Lagrangean relaxation with clusters to solve the unconstrained binary quadratic programming problem that consists of maximizing a quadratic objective function by the choice of suitable values for binary decision variables. The proposed method treats a mixed binary linear model for the quadratic problem with constraints represented by a graph. This graph is partitioned in clusters of vertices forming sub-problems whose solutions use the dual variables obtained by a coordinator problem. The column generation process presents alternative ways to find upper and lower bounds for the quadratic problem. Computational experiments were performed using hard instances and the proposed method was compared against other methods presenting improved results for most of these instances.  相似文献

This paper presents a new computational approach for solving the Regularized Total Least Squares problem. The problem is formulated by adding a quadratic constraint to the Total Least Square minimization problem. Starting from the fact that a quadratically constrained Least Squares problem can be solved via a quadratic eigenvalue problem, an iterative procedure for solving the regularized Total Least Squares problem based on quadratic eigenvalue problems is presented. This paper presents a canonical dual approach to minimizing the sum of a quadratic function and the ratio of two quadratic functions, which is a type of non-convex optimization problem subject to an elliptic constraint. We first relax the fractional structure by introducing a family of parametric subproblems. Under proper conditions on the “problem-defining” matrices associated with the three quadratic functions, we show that the canonical dual of each subproblem becomes a one-dimensional concave maximization problem that exhibits no duality gap. Since the infimum of the optima of the parameterized subproblems leads to a solution to the original problem, we then derive some optimality conditions and existence conditions for finding a global minimizer of the original problem. Some numerical results using the quasi-Newton and line search methods are presented to illustrate our approach.  相似文献

This paper provides a canonical dual approach for minimizing a general quadratic function over a set of linear constraints. We first perturb the feasible domain by a quadratic constraint, and then solve a “restricted” canonical dual program of the perturbed problem at each iteration to generate a sequence of feasible solutions of the original problem. The generated sequence is proven to be convergent to a Karush-Kuhn-Tucker point with a strictly decreasing objective value. Some numerical results are provided to illustrate the proposed approach.  相似文献

对带非凸二次约束的二次比式和问题(P)给出分枝定界算法,首先将问题(P)转化为其等价问题(Q),然后利用线性化技术,建立了(Q)松弛线性规划问题(RLP),通过对(RLP)可行域的细分及求解一系列线性规划问题,不断更新(Q)的上下界,从理论上证明了算法的收敛性,数值实验表明了算法的可行性和有效性.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of minimizing a quadratic cost subject to purely quadratic equality constraints. This problem is tackled by first relating it to a standard semidefinite programming problem. The approach taken leads to a dynamical systems analysis of semidefinite programming and the formulation of a gradient descent flow which can be used to solve semidefinite programming problems. Though the reformulation of the initial problem as a semidefinite pro- gramming problem does not in general lead directly to a solution of the original problem, the initial problem is solved by using a modified flow incorporating a penalty function. The infinite-dimensional versions of the linear quadratic cost control problem and of the linear filtering problem lead to an infinite-dimensional Riccati equation with unbounded operators. Existence and uniqueness theorems for mild solutions of this Riccati equation are established using a sequential approach based on approximating controllers for the linear quadratic cost control problem. By using a semigroup and evolution equation approach, the results are valid for a large class of unbounded operators and, hence, are applicable to many linear infinite-dimensional control systems.  相似文献

Minimax optimal design of sonar transducer arrays can be formulated as a nonlinear program with many convex quadratic constraints and a nonconvex quadratic efficiency constraint. The variables of this problem are a scaling and phase shift applied to the output of each sensor. This problem is solved by applying Lagrangian relaxation to the convex quadratic constraints. Extensive computational experience shows that this approach can efficiently find near-optimal solutions of problems with up to 391 variables and 579 constraints. This paper proposes an original decomposition approach to the upper bound method of limit analysis. It is based on a mixed finite element approach and on a convex interior point solver, using linear or quadratic discontinuous velocity fields. Presented in plane strain, this method appears to be rapidly convergent, as verified in the Tresca compressed bar problem in the linear velocity case. Then, using discontinuous quadratic velocity fields, the method is applied to the celebrated problem of the stability factor of a Tresca vertical slope: the upper bound is lowered to 3.7776-value to be compared to the best published lower bound 3.7752-by succeeding in solving a nonlinear optimization problem with millions of variables and constraints.  相似文献

Index tracking consists in reproducing the performance of a stock-market index by investing in a subset of the stocks included in the index. A hybrid strategy that combines an evolutionary algorithm with quadratic programming is designed to solve this NP-hard problem: Given a subset of assets, quadratic programming yields the optimal tracking portfolio that invests only in the selected assets. The combinatorial problem of identifying the appropriate assets is solved by a genetic algorithm that uses the output of the quadratic optimization as fitness function. This hybrid approach allows the identification of quasi-optimal tracking portfolios at a reduced computational cost.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a smoothing sequential quadratic programming to compute a solution of a quadratic convex bilevel programming problem. We use the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker optimality conditions of the lower level problem to obtain a nonsmooth optimization problem known to be a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints; the complementary conditions of the lower level problem are then appended to the upper level objective function with a classical penalty. These complementarity conditions are not relaxed from the constraints and they are reformulated as a system of smooth equations by mean of semismooth equations using Fisher-Burmeister functional. Then, using a quadratic sequential programming method, we solve a series of smooth, regular problems that progressively approximate the nonsmooth problem. Some preliminary computational results are reported, showing that our approach is efficient.  相似文献

We investigate a special case of the maximum quadratic assignment problem where one matrix is a product matrix and the other matrix is the distance matrix of a one-dimensional point set. We show that this special case, which we call the Wiener maximum quadratic assignment problem, is NP-hard in the ordinary sense and solvable in pseudo-polynomial time.Our approach also yields a polynomial time solution for the following problem from chemical graph theory: find a tree that maximizes the Wiener index among all trees with a prescribed degree sequence. This settles an open problem from the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we will develop an algorithm for solving a quadratic fractional programming problem which was recently introduced by Lo and MacKinlay to construct a maximal predictability portfolio, a new approach in portfolio analysis. The objective function of this problem is defined by the ratio of two convex quadratic functions, which is a typical global optimization problem with multiple local optima. We will show that a well-designed branch-and-bound algorithm using (i) Dinkelbach's parametric strategy, (ii) linear overestimating function and (iii) -subdivision strategy can solve problems of practical size in an efficient way. This algorithm is particularly efficient for Lo-MacKinlay's problem where the associated nonconvex quadratic programming problem has low rank nonconcave property.  相似文献

In this paper, an augmented Lagrangian method is proposed for binary quadratic programming (BQP) problems based on a class of continuous functions. The binary constraints are converted into a class of continuous functions. The approach reformulates the BQP problem as an equivalent augmented Lagrangian function, and then seeks its minimizer via an augmented Lagrangian method, in which the subproblem is solved by Barzilai–Borwein type method. Numerical results are reported for max-cut problem. The results indicate that the augmented Lagrangian approach is promising for large scale binary quadratic programming by the quality of the near optimal values and the low computational time.  相似文献
