The authors study the bifurcation of homoclinic orbits from a degenerate homoclinic orbit in reversible system. The unperturbed system is assumed to have saddlecenter type equilibrium whose stable and unstable manifolds intersect in two-dimensional manifolds. A perturbation technique for the detection of symmetric and nonsymmetric homoclinic orbits near the primary homoclinic orbits is developed. Some known results are extended.  相似文献

Recently, the author and collaborators have developed a systematic program for proving the existence of homoclinic orbits in partial differential equations. Two typical forms of homoclinic orbits thus obtained are: (1) transversal homoclinic orbits, (2) Silnikov homoclinic orbits. Around the transversal homoclinic orbits in infinite-dimensional autonomous systems, the author was able to prove the existence of chaos through a shadowing lemma. Around the Silnikov homoclinic orbits, the author was able to prove the existence of chaos through a horseshoe construction.Very recently, there has been a breakthrough by the author in finding Lax pairs for Euler equations of incompressible inviscid fluids. Further results have been obtained by the author and collaborators.  相似文献

A rigorous numerical method for establishing the existence of a transversal connecting orbit from one hyperbolic periodic orbit to another of a differential equation in is presented. As the first component of this method, a general shadowing theorem that guarantees the existence of such a connecting orbit near a suitable pseudo connection orbit given the invertibility of a certain operator is proved. The second component consists of a refinement procedure for numerically computing a pseudo connecting orbit between two pseudo periodic orbits with sufficiently small local errors so as to satisfy the hypothesis of the theorem. The third component consists of a numerical procedure to verify the invertibility of the operator and obtain a rigorous upper bound for the norm of its inverse. Using this method, existence of chaos is demonstrated on examples with transversal homoclinic orbits, and with cycles of transversal heteroclinic orbits.  相似文献

We consider 4-dimensional, real, analytic Hamiltonian systems with a saddle center equilibrium (related to a pair of real and a pair of imaginary eigenvalues) and a homoclinic orbit to it. We find conditions for the existence of transversal homoclinic orbits to periodic orbits of long period in every energy level sufficiently close to the energy level of the saddle center equilibrium. We also consider one-parameter families of reversible, 4-dimensional Hamiltonian systems. We prove that the set of parameter values where the system has homoclinic orbits to a saddle center equilibrium has no isolated points. We also present similar results for systems with heteroclinic orbits to saddle center equilibria. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The bifurcations of orbit flip homoclinic loop with nonhyperbolic equilibria are investigated. By constructing local coordinate systems near the unperturbed homoclinic orbit, Poincaré maps for the new system are established. We study the main bifurcations of multidimensional diffeomorphisms having a nontransversal homoclinic orbit to a saddle-node fixed point. On a parameter plane we build a bifurcation diagram for single-round periodic orbits lying entirely in a small neighborhood of the homoclinic orbit. Also, a relation of our results to the well-known codimension one bifurcations of a saddle fixed point with a quadratic homoclinic tangency and a saddle-node fixed point with a transversal homoclinic orbit is discussed.  相似文献

A high-codimension homoclinic bifurcation is considered with one orbit flip and two inclination flips accompanied by resonant principal eigenvalues. A local active coordinate system in a small neighborhood of homoclinic orbit is introduced. By analysis of the bifurcation equation, the authors obtain the conditions when the original flip homoclinic orbit is kept or broken. The existence and the existence regions of several double periodic orbits and one triple periodic orbit bifurcations are proved. Moreover, the complicated homoclinic-doubling bifurcations are found and expressed approximately.  相似文献

Homoclinic bifurcations in four-dimensional vector fields are investigated by setting up a local coordinate near a homoclinic orbit. This homoclinic orbit is principal but its stable and unstable foliations take inclination flip. The existence, nonexistence, and uniqueness of the 1-homoclinic orbit and 1-periodic orbit are studied. The existence of the two-fold 1 -periodic orbit and three-fold 1 -periodic orbit are also obtained. It is indicated that the number of periodic orbits bifurcated from this kind of homoclinic orbits depends heavily on the strength of the inclination flip.  相似文献

The paper studies a codimension-4 resonant homoclinic bifurcation with one orbit flip and two inclination flips, where the resonance takes place in the tangent direction of homoclinic orbit.Local active coordinate system is introduced to construct the Poincar′e returning map, and also the associated successor functions. We prove the existence of the saddle-node bifurcation, the perioddoubling bifurcation and the homoclinic-doubling bifurcation, and also locate the corresponding 1-periodic orbit, 1-homoclinic orbit, double periodic orbits and some 2n-homoclinic orbits.  相似文献

An important problem in a given dynamical system is to determine the existence of a homoclinic orbit. We improve the results of Qin and Xiao [Nonlinearity, 20 (2007), 2305–2317], who present some sufficient conditions for the existence of a homoclinic/heteroclinic orbit for the generalized H´enon map. We consider periodic perturbations of conservative systems. The unperturbed systems are assumed to have two nonhyperbolic equilibria connected by a heteroclinic orbit on each level set of conservative quantities. These equilibria construct two normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds in the unperturbed phase space, and by invariant manifold theory there exist two normally hyperbolic, locally invariant manifolds in the perturbed phase space. We extend Melnikov’s method to give a condition under which the stable and unstable manifolds of these locally invariant manifolds intersect transversely. Moreover, when the locally invariant manifolds consist of nonhyperbolic periodic orbits, we show that there can exist heteroclinic orbits connecting periodic orbits near the unperturbed equilibria on distinct level sets. This behavior can occur even when the two unperturbed equilibria on each level set coincide and have a homoclinic orbit. In addition, it yields transition motions between neighborhoods of very distant periodic orbits, which are similar to Arnold diffusion for three or more degree of freedom Hamiltonian systems possessing a sequence of heteroclinic orbits to invariant tori, if there exists a sequence of heteroclinic orbits connecting periodic orbits successively.We illustrate our theory for rotational motions of a periodically forced rigid body. Numerical computations to support the theoretical results are also given.  相似文献
