In this work, an experimental setup consisting of a double pass solar air heater duct provided with discrete multi V-shaped and staggered rib as artificial roughness on both sides of the absorber plate has been designed and fabricated. The parameters of interest investigated experimentally cover a wide range of Reynolds number (Re) from 2000 to 20000, relative staggered rib pitch (p’/p) from 0.2 to 0.8, relative staggered rib size (r/e) from 1 to 4, and relative roughness width (W/w) from 5 to 8. Experimental data related to heat transfer, pressure loss, and thermohydraulic performance has been determined. Substantial improvement has been obtained with some penalty of friction losses.  相似文献

In this present study, an experimental investigation has been carried out for a roughened double-pass solar air heater. The respective variation in other parameters, such as relative roughness pitch (p/e), relative roughness height (e/Dh), and angle of attack (α), were 5–20, 0.022–0.044, and 30°–75°, respectively. The effect of roughness and operating parameters on Nusselt number (Nu) and friction factor (f) has been determined, and the results are compared with those of a smooth absorber plate; considerable enhancement in both heat transfer and friction factor is noticed. Utilizing these experimental data, correlations for Nusselt number and friction factor correlations were also developed.  相似文献

Heat transfer and pressure drop measurements were conducted to study the thermal-hydraulics in a square, round-edged channel roughened by ribs (e/Dh = 0.0638, p/e = 10) on one wall at Reynolds numbers ranging from 5.0 × 104 to 2.5 × 105. Three variously shaped ribs were investigated: Transverse ribs with square cross sections, transverse ribs, and upstream directed 60° V-shaped ribs with round-edged rib front and rear surfaces. Friction factors, Nusselt number ratios, roughness functions, and the thermal performance were presented. The highest heat transfer and best thermal performance is reached by the upstream directed V-shaped ribs.  相似文献

The paper presents results of flow visualization and mass transfer studies for fully developed turbulent flow of air in a square section wind tunnel with repeated chamfered rib roughness on the bottom of the tunnel (rib head chamfer angles ϕ of -15°, 0°, and 15°; relative roughness pitchp/e = 3, 5, 7.5, and 10). Direct video recordings of flow patterns were made using a simple technique of particles visualization. For the positively chamfered closely spaced ribs (p/e <- 5) vigorous vortex shedding has been seen compared to the square or negatively chamfered ribs, which is found to be a function of the Reynolds number. For the widely spaced ribs, the study shows flow separation at the ribs and reattachment in the inter-rib region. Local mass transfer studies, based on the variation in colour of cobaltous chloride solution impregnated paper due to evaporation of water, showed a significant improvement in mass transfer rate in the recirculating region in the wake of ribs with the change in the chamfer angle from -15° to 15°. The positively chamfered 15° ribs are found to be better than square section ribs atp/e <- 7.5. The performance of negatively chamfered ribs is found to be poor compared to other ribs irrespective of the relative roughness pitch.  相似文献

This paper reports a study of reactive ion etching (RIE) of n-ZnO in H2/CH4 and H2/CH4/Ar gas mixtures. Variables in the experiment were gas flow ratios, radio-frequency (rf) plasma power, and total pressure. Structural and electrical parameters of the etched surfaces and films were determined. Both the highest surface roughness and highest etching rate of ZnO films were obtained with a maximum rf power of 300 W, but at different gas flow ratios and working pressures. These results were expected because increasing the rf power increased the bond-breaking efficiency of ZnO. The highest degree of surface roughness was a result of pure physical etching by H2 gas without mixed CH4 gas. The highest etching rate was obtained from physical etching of H2/Ar species associated with chemical reaction of CH4 species. Additionally, the H2/CH4/Ar plasma treatment drastically decreased the specific contact and sheet resistance of the ZnO films. These results indicated that etching the ZnO film had roughened the surface and reduced its resistivity to ohmic contact, supporting the application of a roughened transparent contact layer (TCL) in light-emitting diodes (LEDs).  相似文献

An experimental investigation on the heat transfer effectiveness of solid and slit ribs mounted on the bottom surface of a rectangular channel has been carried out at Reynolds numbers of 13400, 22600, 32100 and 40800. The rib height to hydraulic diameter ratio (e/D h)set during experiment is equal to 0.0624. The surface Nusselt number results from transient liquid crystal thermography are presented. The heat transfer enhancement performance analysis has been carried out using entropy generation principle. The slit rib is superior to solid rib from both heat transfer augmentation and pressure penalty point of view. The performance of the slit rib is a function of the open area ratio (β) and the location of the slit (b) from the bottom test surface. The optimum open area ratio is 20% and the slit located symmetrically from the top and bottom surface of the rib is the optimum location of the slit. The heat transfer augmentation of the slit rib (β=20%) is 61% in comparison to 40% for the solid rib at Re=32100 and the pressure penalty for the slit rib is 7% lower than the solid rib. The entropy generation for the slit rib is 33% less than that of the solid rib.  相似文献

The influences of the rough interface on the impedance of solid lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) in its metal/insulator/metal (MIM) cells over a wide frequency are studied. Using magnetron sputtering method, Al/LiPON/Al cells with different rough interfaces are fabricated. With increasing the Al films electrode roughness, the deposited LiPON films on these electrodes are correspondingly roughened, which result the interface in MIM cell roughened. Rough LiPON films make their ionic resistance decreasing and the real contact area and the bulk capacitance of MIM cells increasing. These lead to the ionic conductivity of LiPON films improved from 1.09 to 2.70 μS/cm. Meanwhile, the bulk capacitance and the electrolyte resistance in MIM cells could be separated by changing the interface roughness. Rough interfaces in MIM cells contribute to the differences in the morphology of LiPON thin films, which result in the decrease of the activation energy of ionic conductivity E g from 0.45 to 0.38 eV. Without changing LiPON components ratio and sputtering conditions for the thin films deposition, or using any heat treatment, we demonstrate an effective way to improve the ionic conductivity by increasing the roughness of the contact electrode in MIM cells, corresponding roughening the LiPON films and decreasing its ionic impedance.  相似文献

Traditional measures of dysphonia vary in their reliability and in their correlations with perceptions of grade. Measurements of cepstral peak prominence (CPP) have been shown to correlate well with perceptions of breathiness. Because it is a measure of periodicity, CPP should also predict roughness. The ability of CPP and other acoustic measures to predict overall dysphonia and the subcategories of breathiness and roughness in pathological voice samples is explored. Preoperative and postoperative speech samples from 19 patients with unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis who underwent operative intervention were analyzed by trained listeners and by measures of smoothed CPP (CPPS), noise-to-harmonic ratio (NHR), amplitude perturbation quotient (APQ), relative average perturbation (RAP), and smoothed pitch perturbation quotient (sPPQ). The data were analyzed with bivariate Pearson correlation statistics. Grade of dysphonia and breathiness ratings correlated better with measurements of CPPS than with the other measures. CPPS from samples of connected speech (CPPS-s) best predicted overall dysphonia. None of the measures were useful in predicting roughness.  相似文献

In the present study, the turbulent heat transfer and fiction in a square duct roughened by continuous and truncated ribs on one wall has been investigated experimentally. The ribs are oriented transversely to the main stream in a periodic arrangement. For both cases, the rib height-to-hydraulic diameter ratio is 0.15, the rib pitch-to-height ratio is fixed at 12, and the Reynolds number varies from 8,000–20,000. Liquid crystal thermography is applied to demonstrate detailed distribution of heat transfer coefficient between a pair of ribs. The results show that the horseshoe vortices produced by truncated ribs are quite different from the flow structures altered by continuous ribs. It is noted that continuous ribs give higher heat transfer augmentation and pressure drop than truncated ribs. Moreover, the truncated ribs cannot be employed to eliminate hot spots which occur in the corresponding continuous types.  相似文献

The goal of this study is to explore the influence of ice particle habit (or shape) and surface roughness on the scattering phase matrix. As an example, reported here are the results for two wavelengths: 0.67 and 1.61 μm. For this effort, a database of single-scattering properties has been computed for a set of habits including hexagonal plates, hollow and solid columns, hollow and solid 3D bullet rosettes, droxtals, aggregates of solid columns, and aggregates of plates. The database provides properties for each of the habits at 101 wavelengths between 0.45 and 2.24 μm for smooth, moderately roughened, and severely roughened particles. At each wavelength, the scattering properties are provided at 233 discrete particle diameters ranging from 2 to 10,000 μm. A single particle size distribution from a very cold ice cloud sampled during the CRYSTAL-FACE field campaign (Tcld=–76 °C) is used to illustrate the influence of habit and roughness on the phase matrix. In all, four different habit mixtures are evaluated. The nonzero elements of the phase matrix are shown to be quite sensitive to the assumed habit, particularly in the case of ?P12/P11 that is associated with the degree of linear polarization of scattered radiation. Surface roughness is shown to smooth out maxima in the scattering phase function and in the other elements of the phase matrix, consistent with other studies. To compare with the theoretical simulations of the phase matrix for smooth and roughened particles, a full year of cloud-aerosol lidar with orthogonal polarization (CALIOP) data from 2008 is analyzed to provide global statistics on the values of P11 and P22/P11 in the backscattering direction. In a comparison of two of the habit mixtures (one used for MODIS Collection 5 and another that incorporates new habits including hollow bullet rosettes and aggregates of plates) with the CALIOP data, the values for P11 are higher regardless of the degree of particle surface roughness, and the values for P22/P11 are lower than those for CALIOP. Further investigation is warranted to better understand this discrepancy.  相似文献

2 has been used for smoothing of rough InAs, InP, and InSb surfaces, prepared by argon ion beam etching (IBE). The evolution of the surface roughness and morphology has been studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM) as a function of the N2 RIBE process parameters (ion beam energy, ion beam angle of incidence, and ion dose). A drastic improvement of the surface roughness has been observed for ion beam angles near normal incidence and larger than 70° with increasing ion doses. Using the ATR-technique surface plasma oscillations are excited in silver films of 600 Å thickness roughened by CaF2 layers. The angular distribution and the polarization of the intensity of the light scattered into the air half-space have been determined. The roughness spectrum derived from these data can be described in a limited k-region by a Gauss' correlation function. In this way it is possible to calculate the correlation length and the r.m.s. height of the roughness. Varying the CaF2 thickness in the range 0–2000 Å the correlation length turned out to be 850 Å, while the r.m.s. roughness increased from 4 Å to 30 Å.  相似文献

在均匀电场中,用高能激光脉冲释放初始电子以研究负电性气体的电子崩的发展,决定预放电过程的基本参数(游离系数α,吸附系数η和漂移速度v等)是一个有用的方法,本文对此方法做了详细的分析。采用这种方法对SF6-CO2混合气体做了研究,获得了108个以上的初始电子及其分布,并给出了α/P,η/P和ν与E/P(E=电场强度,P=气体压力)的关系。本文还对所用的测量系统做了讨论,提出了改进办法。 关键词:  相似文献

A systematic study is presented in which multilayers of different composition (W/Si, Mo/Si, Pd/B4C), periodicity (from 2.5 to 5.5 nm) and number of layers have been characterized. In particular, the intrinsic quality (roughness and reflectivity) as well as the performance (homogeneity and coherence of the outgoing beam) as a monochromator for synchrotron radiation hard X‐ray micro‐imaging are investigated. The results indicate that the material composition is the dominating factor for the performance. By helping scientists and engineers specify the design parameters of multilayer monochromators, these results can contribute to a better exploitation of the advantages of multilayer monochromators over crystal‐based devices; i.e. larger spectral bandwidth and high photon flux density, which are particularly useful for synchrotron‐based micro‐radiography and ‐tomography.  相似文献

A computational study is carried out to assess the suitability of various RANS based turbulence models for slot jet impingement on flat and ribbed surfaces with various values of Reynolds number and jet to plate spacing. The com-puted results are compared with the reported experimental data. It was observed that none of the turbulence models considered predicted the heat transfer data accurately. However, some models predicted the experimental data with good trends, e.g., secondary peak and several spikes in Nusselt number for ribbed surface, with a precise computation of the stagnation point Nusselt number. Further, the effects of slot width, rib pitch and jet to ribbed surface spacing were investigated for jet impingement on a ribbed surface. It was observed that the local Nusselt number increased with slot width and rib to plate spacing. It was also observed that increasing Reynolds number had a positive effect on the local heat transfer. With increasing rib pitch the local Nusselt number increased near the stagnation zone but de-creased downstream. The observed flow pattern was different for jet impingement on a ribbed surface than that on a flat surface.  相似文献

Enhancement of the surface properties of a material by means of laser radiation has been amply demonstrated previously. In this work a comparative study for the surface modification of nylon 6,6 has been conducted in order to vary the wettability characteristics using CO2 and excimer lasers. This was done by producing 50 μm spaced (with depths between 1 and 10 μm) trench-like patterns using various laser parameters such as varying the laser power for the CO2 laser and number of pulses for the excimer laser. Topographical changes were analysed using optical microscopy and white light interferometry which indicated that both laser systems can be implemented for modifying the topography of nylon 6,6. Variations in the surface chemistry were evaluated using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis which showed that the O2 increased by up to 1.5 at% and decreased by up to 1.6 at% for the CO2 and F2 laser patterned samples, respectively. Modification of the wettability characteristics was quantified by measuring the advancing contact angle, which was found to increase in all instances for both laser systems. Emery paper roughened samples were also analysed in the same manner to determine that the topographical pattern played a major role in the wettability characteristics of nylon 6,6. From this, it is proposed that the increase in contact angle for the laser processed samples is due to a mixed intermediate state wetting regime owed to the periodic surface roughness brought about by the laser-induced trench-like topographical patterns.  相似文献

纳米流动系统具有高效、经济等优势,在众多领域具有广泛的应用前景.因该类系统具有极高的表面积体积比,致使界面滑移效应对流动具有显著影响.本文采用分子动力学方法以两无限大平行非对称壁面组成的Poiseuille流动为对象,分析了壁面粗糙度与润湿性变化对通道内流体流动的影响.对于不同结构类型的壁面,需要通过水动力位置来确定固液界面位置,准确计算固液界面位置有助于更好地分析界面滑移效应.研究结果表明,上下壁面不对称会引起通道内流场参数分布的不对称,壁面粗糙度及润湿性的变化会影响近壁面附近流体原子的流动特性,由于壁面凹槽的存在,粗糙壁面附近的数密度分布低于光滑壁面一侧.壁面粗糙度及润湿性的变化会影响固液界面位置,肋高变化及壁面润湿性对通道中速度分布影响较大,界面滑移速度及滑移长度随肋高和润湿性的增大而减小;肋间距变化对通道内流体流动影响较小,界面滑移速度和滑移长度基本保持恒定.  相似文献

Thermal wave characterization of thin films used in industrial applications can be a useful tool, not just to get information on the films' thermal properties, but to get information on structural-physical parameters, e.g. crystalline structure and surface roughness, and on the film deposition conditions, since the thermal film properties are directly related to the structural-physical parameters and to the deposition conditions. Different sets of TiCXOY thin films, deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering on steel, have been prepared, changing only one deposition parameter at a time. Here, the effect of the oxygen flow on the thermal film properties is studied. The thermal waves have been measured by modulated IR radiometry, and the phase lag data have been interpreted using an Extremum method by which the thermal coating parameters are directly related to the values and modulation frequencies of the relative extrema of the inverse calibrated thermal wave phases. Structural/morphological characterization has been done using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The characterization of the films also includes thickness, hardness, and electric resistivity measurements. The results obtained so far indicate strong correlations between the thermal diffusivity and conductivity, on the one hand, and the oxygen flow on the other hand.  相似文献

Liquid crystal thermography and pressure drop measurements have been carried out to study the heat transfer and frictional characteristics in a rectangular duct with solid ribs (C1), converging slit-ribs (C2), and alternate solid-slit ribs (C3) mounted transversely on the bottom wall, where C2 carries a continuous converging-slit in the flow direction. Effect of rib configurations, and rib pitch to height ratios (6, 8, 10, and 12) has been investigated at Re of 9400, 26160, 42500, and 58850. Results show that converging-slit considerably enhances the heat transfer rate in the downstream vicinity, and help in obviating the local hot spot formation.
