The intrinsic methylating abilities of the known biological methylating zwitterionic agents, dimethylsulfonioacetate (DMSA), (CH(3))(2)S?CH(2)CO(2)(-) (1) and glycine betaine (GB), (CH(3))(3)N?CH(2)CO(2)(-) (2), have been examined via a range of gas phase experiments involving collision-induced dissociation (CID) of their proton-bound homo- and heterodimers, including those containing the amino acid arginine. The relative yields of the products of methyl cation transfer are consistent in all cases and show that protonated DMSA is a more potent methylating agent than protonated GB. Since methylation can occur at more than one site in arginine, the [M+CH(3)](+) ion of arginine, formed from the heterocluster [DMSA+Arg+H](+), was subject to an additional stage of CID. The resultant CID spectrum is virtually identical to that of an authentic sample of protonated arginine-O-methyl ester but is significantly different to that of an authentic sample of protonated N(G)-methyl arginine. This suggests that methylation has occurred within a salt bridge complex of [DMSA+Arg+H](+), in which the arginine exists in the zwitterionic form. Finally, density functional theory calculations on the model salts, (CH(3)CO(2)(-))[(CH(3))(3)S(+)] and (CH(3)CO(2)(-))[(CH(3))(4)N(+)], show that methylation of CH(3)CO(2)(-) by (CH(3))(3)S(+) is both kinetically and thermodynamically preferred over methylation by (CH(3))(4)N(+).  相似文献

Electrospray ionization and tandem mass spectrometry experiments have been used to study the fragmentation and electron-ion interactions of doubly charged zwitterionic clusters, [M(15) + 2H](2+) (where M = Glycine Betaine (GB), (CH(3))(3)N(+)CH(2)CO(2)(-), and Dimethylsulfonioacetate (DMSA), (CH(3))(2)S(+)CH(2)CO(2)(-)) which are close to the stability limit, i.e., the Coulomb repulsion of the charge within the cluster competes with attractive forces. The intercluster chemistry was studied using collision-induced dissociation (CID) and electron-induced dissociation (EID) in which the energy of the electrons has been varied from >0 to 30 eV. Experimental results suggest that the zwitterionic binding energy in the clusters follow the order GB > DMSA, which is consistent with theoretical calculations that highlight that the lower dipole moment of DMSA leads to a binding energy of DMSA that is 0.86 times smaller than that for GB. Multiply protonated clusters of both GB and DMSA dissociate through Coulomb explosion, which is in competition with neutral evaporation for DMSA. Electronic excitation of the cluster under EID conditions at higher electron energies >12 eV can lead to new intercluster reactions associated with bond cleavages where differences between the sulfur and nitrogen betaines are minor.  相似文献

Unimolecular metastable decomposition of diethoxymethane (CH(2)(OCH(2)CH(3))(2), 1) upon electron impact has been investigated by means of mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectrometry and theD-labeling technique in conjunction with thermochemistry. The m/z 103 ion ([M - H](+) : CH(OCH(2)CH(3)) = O(+)CH(2)CH(3)) decomposes into the m/z 47 ion (protonated formic acid, CH(OH) = O(+)H) by consecutive losses of two C(2)H(4) molecules via an m/z 75 ion. The resulting product ion at m/z 47 further decomposes into the m/z 29 and 19 ions by losses of H(2)O and CO, respectively, via an 1,3-hydroxyl hydrogen transfer, accompanied by small kinetic energy release (KER) values of 1.3 and 18.8 meV, respectively. When these two elimination reactions are suppressed by a large isotope effect, however, another 1,1-H(2)O elimination with a large KER value (518 meV) is revealed. The m/z 89 ion ([M - CH(3)](+) : CH(2)(OCH(2)CH(3))O(+) = CH(2)) decomposes into the m/z 59 ion (CH(3)CH(2)O(+) = CH(2)) by losing CH(2)O in the metastable time window. The source-generated m/z 59 ion ([M - OCH(2)CH(3)](+) : CH(2) = O(+)CH(2)CH(3)) decomposes into the m/z 41 (CH(2) = CH(+)CH(2)) and m/z 31 (CH(2) = O(+)H) ions by losses of H(2)O and C(2)H(4), respectively, with considerable hydrogen scrambling prior to decomposition. The gas-phase fragmentation reactions of singly protonated aromatic amino acids, their simple peptides as well as simple models for intermolecular disulfide bonds have been examined using a commercially available hybrid linear ion trap-Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrometer. Low-energy collision-induced dissociation (CID) reactions within the linear ion trap are compared with electron-induced dissociation (EID) reactions within the FT-ICR cell. Dramatic differences are observed between low-energy CID (which occurs via vibrational excitation) and EID. For example, the aromatic amino acids mainly fragment via competitive losses of NH(3) and (H(2)O+CO) under CID conditions, while side-chain benzyl cations are major fragment ions under EID conditions. EID also appears to be superior in cleaving the S-S and S-C bonds of models of peptides containing an intermolecular disulfide bond. Systematic studies involving fragmentation as a function of electron energy reveal that the fragmentation efficiency for EID occurs at high electron energy (more than 10 eV) compared with the low-electron energy (less than 0.2 eV) typically observed for electron capture dissociation fragmentation. Finally, owing to similarities between the types of fragment ions observed under EID conditions and those previously reported in ultraviolet photodissociation experiments and the electron-ionization mass spectra, we propose that EID results in fragmentation via electronic excitation and vibrational excitation. EID may find applications in analyzing singly charged molecular ions formed by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization.  相似文献

The ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(R)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IPr)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) (R = CH=CHBu(t), CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4, C(C≡CPh)=CHPh) are formed on reaction of IPr·CS(2) with [Ru(R)Cl(CO)(BTD)(PPh(3))(2)] (BTD = 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole) or [Ru(C(C≡CPh)=CHPh)Cl(CO)(PPh(3))(2)] in the presence of ammonium hexafluorophosphate. Similarly, the complexes [Ru(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)(κ(2)-S(2)C·ICy)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) and [Ru(C(C≡CPh)=CHPh)(κ(2)-S(2)C·ICy)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) are formed in the same manner when ICy·CS(2) is employed. The ligand IMes·CS(2) reacts with [Ru(R)Cl(CO)(BTD)(PPh(3))(2)] to form the compounds [Ru(R)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IMes)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) (R = CH=CHBu(t), CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4, C(C≡CPh)=CHPh). Two osmium analogues, [Os(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IMes)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) and [Os(C(C≡CPh)=CHPh)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IMes)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+) were also prepared. When the more bulky diisopropylphenyl derivative IDip·CS(2) is used, an unusual product, [Ru(κ(2)-SC(H)S(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)·IDip)Cl(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+), with a migrated vinyl group, is obtained. Over extended reaction times, [Ru(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)Cl(BTD)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)] also reacts with IMes·CS(2) and NH(4)PF(6) to yield the analogous product [Ru{κ(2)-SC(H)S(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)·IMes}Cl(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+)via the intermediate [Ru(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IMes)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)](+). Structural studies are reported for [Ru(CH=CHC(6)H(4)Me-4)(κ(2)-S(2)C·IPr)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)]PF(6) and [Ru(C(C≡CPh)=CHPh)(κ(2)-S(2)C·ICy)(CO)(PPh(3))(2)]PF(6).  相似文献

The magic number behavior of ((CH(3))(3)N)(n)-H(+)-H(2)O clusters at n = 3 is investigated by applying infrared spectroscopy to the clusters of n = 1-3. Structures of these clusters are determined in conjunction with density functional theory calculations. Dissociation channels upon infrared excitation are also measured, and their correlation with the cluster structures is examined. It is demonstrated that the magic number cluster has a closed-shell structure, in which the water moiety is surrounded by three (CH(3))(3)N molecules. The ion core (protonated site) of the clusters is found to be (CH(3))(3)NH(+) for n = 1-3, but coexistence of an isomer of the H(3)O(+) ion core cannot be ruled out for n = 3. Large rearrangement of the cluster structures of n = 2 and 3 before dissociation, which has been suggested in the mass spectrometric studies, is confirmed on the basis of the structure determination by infrared spectroscopy.  相似文献

Infrared photodissociation spectra of Al(+)(CH(3)OH)(n) (n = 1-4) and Al(+)(CH(3)OH)(n)-Ar (n = 1-3) were measured in the OH stretching region, 3000-3800 cm(-1). For n = 1 and 2, sharp absorption bands were observed in the free OH stretching region, all of which were well reproduced by the spectra calculated for the solvated-type geometry with no hydrogen bond. For n = 3 and 4, there were broad vibrational bands in the energy region of hydrogen-bonded OH stretching vibrations, 3000-3500 cm(-1). Energies of possible isomers for the Al(+)(CH(3)OH)(3),4 ions with hydrogen bonds were calculated in order to assign these bands. It was found that the third and fourth methanol molecules form hydrogen bonds with methanol molecules in the first solvation shell, rather than a direct bonding with the Al(+) ion. For the Al(+)(CH(3)OH)(n) clusters with n = 1-4, we obtained no evidence of the insertion reaction, which occurs in Al(+)(H(2)O)(n). One possible explanation of the difference between these two systems is that the potential energy barriers between the solvated and inserted isomers in the Al(+)(CH(3)OH)(n) system is too high to form the inserted-type isomers.  相似文献

Ni(+)(CO(2))(n), Ni(+)(CO(2))(n)Ar, Ni(+)(CO(2))(n)Ne, and Ni(+)(O(2))(CO(2))(n) complexes are generated by laser vaporization in a pulsed supersonic expansion. The complexes are mass-selected in a reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometer and studied by infrared resonance-enhanced photodissociation (IR-REPD) spectroscopy. Photofragmentation proceeds exclusively through the loss of intact CO(2) molecules from Ni(+)(CO(2))(n) and Ni(+)(O(2))(CO(2))(n) complexes, and by elimination of the noble gas atom from Ni(+)(CO(2))(n)Ar and Ni(+)(CO(2))(n)Ne. Vibrational resonances are identified and assigned in the region of the asymmetric stretch of CO(2). Small complexes have resonances that are blueshifted from the asymmetric stretch of free CO(2), consistent with structures having linear Ni(+)-O=C=O configurations. Fragmentation of larger Ni(+)(CO(2))(n) clusters terminates at the size of n=4, and new vibrational bands assigned to external ligands are observed for n> or =5. These combined observations indicate that the coordination number for CO(2) molecules around Ni(+) is exactly four. Trends in the loss channels and spectra of Ni(+)(O(2))(CO(2))(n) clusters suggest that each oxygen atom occupies a different coordination site around a four-coordinate metal ion in these complexes. The spectra of larger Ni(+)(CO(2))(n) clusters provide evidence for an intracluster insertion reaction assisted by solvation, producing a metal oxide-carbonyl species as the reaction product.  相似文献

Infrared photodissociation action spectra of protonated ammonia cluster ions, NH(4) (+)(NH(3))(n) (n=5-8), were measured in the range of 1020-1210 cm(-1) by using a tunable infrared free electron laser. Analyses by the density functional theory (DFT) show that the spectral features observed can be assigned to the nu(2) vibrational mode of the NH(3) molecules in NH(4) (+)(NH(3))(n). Size dependence of the spectra supports structural models obtained by the DFT calculations, in which the NH(4) (+) ion is solvated by the four nearest-neighbor NH(3) molecules. For NH(4) (+)(NH(3))(5), the spectrum between 1000 and 1700 cm(-1) was measured. The nu(4) bands of the NH(3) molecules and the NH(4) (+) ion were found in the range of 1420-1700 cm(-1).  相似文献

Unimolecular metastable fragmentations of dimethoxydimethylsilane, (CH(3))(2)Si(OCH(3))(2) (MW 120, 1), and dimethoxymethylsilane, CH(3)SiH(OCH(3))(2) (MW 106, 2), upon electron impact ionization have been studied by means of mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectrometry and the D-labeling technique in conjunction with thermochemistry. The results have been compared with those of the corresponding carbon analogues, 2,2-dimethoxypropane, (CH(3))(2)C(OCH(3))(2) (MW 104, 3) and 1,1-dimethoxyethane, CH(3)CH(OCH(3))(2) (MW 90, 4). In analogy with the cases of 3 and 4, both molecular ions from 1 and 2 are formed at very low abundance at 70 eV, and begin to decompose by the expulsion of the substituents (H, CH(3) or OCH(3)) on the central silicon atom. These decompositions are followed by the loss of a formaldehyde molecule (CH(2)O), as commonly observed in the mass spectra of methoxysilanes. Further, an ethylene (C(2)H(4)) or a dimethyl ether (CH(3)OCH(3)) molecule loss is observed in the fragmentation of some intermediate ions generated from 1(+)* and 2(+)*, but the mechanisms are different than those in the cases of 3 and 4. Some of these fragmentations are also different than those reported previously. The relative abundance of the ions in many MIKE spectra is explained by the extension of the Stevenson-Audier rule. The reaction, which is in contrast to the rule, however, is rationalized by the energy of the transition state for the reaction, estimated by semi-empirical molecular orbital calculation. The peak at m/z 59 from 2(+)* consists only of CH(3)OSi(+) ion, whereas the peak from 1(+)* consists of two different ions, CH(3)OSi(+) and (CH(3))(2)Si(+)H. The ions CH(3)OSi(+) from 1(+)* and 2(+)* are generated by at least two and three separate routes respectively.  相似文献

A joint threshold photoelectron photoion coincidence spectrometry (TPEPICO) and collision-induced dissociation (CID) study on the thermochemistry of Co(CO)(2)NOPR(3), R = CH(3) (Me) and C(2)H(5) (Et), complexes is presented. Adiabatic ionization energies of 7.36 +/- 0.04 and 7.24 +/- 0.04 eV, respectively, were extracted from scans of the total ion and threshold electron signals. In the TPEPICO study, the following 0 K onsets were determined for the various fragment ions: CoCONOPMe(3)(+), 8.30 +/- 0.05 eV; CoNOPMe(3)(+), 9.11 +/- 0.05 eV; CoPMe(3)(+) 10.80 +/- 0.05 eV; CoCONOPEt(3)(+), 8.14 +/- 0.05 eV; CoNOPEt(3)(+), 8.92 +/- 0.05 eV; and CoPEt(3)(+), 10.66 +/- 0.05 eV. These onsets were combined with the Co(+)-PR(3) (R = CH(3) and C(2)H(5)) bond dissociation energies of 2.88 +/- 0.11 and 3.51 +/- 0.17 eV, obtained from the TCID experiments, to derive the heats of formation of the neutral and ionic species. Thus, the Co(CO)(2)NOPR(3) (R = CH(3) and C(2)H(5)) 0 K heats of formation were found to be -350 +/- 13 and -376 +/- 18 kJ x mol(-)(1), respectively. These heats of formation were combined with the published heat of formation of Co(CO)(3)NO to determine the substitution enthalpies of the carbonyl to phosphine substitution reactions. Room-temperature values of the heats of formation are also given using the calculated harmonic vibrational frequencies. Analysis of the TCID experimental results provides indirectly the adiabatic ionization energies of the free phosphine ligands, P(CH(3))(3) and P(C(2)H(5))(3), of 7.83 +/- 0.03 and 7.50 +/- 0.03 eV, respectively.  相似文献

The fragmentation behavior of (+)-silybin (1) and (+)-deuterosilybin (2), as well as of their flavanone-3-ol-type building blocks, such as 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-phenyl-4-chromanone (3) and 2-(1,4-benzodioxolanyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-4-chromanone (4), were investigated by atmospheric pressure chemical ionization quadropole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry in the positive ion mode (APCI(+)-QqTOF MS/MS). The product ion spectra of the protonated molecules of 1 revealed a rather complicated fragmentation pattern with product ions originating from consecutive and competitive loss of small molecules such as H2O, CO, CH2O, CH3OH and 2-methoxyphenol, along with the A+- and B+-type ions arising from the cleavage of the C-ring of the flavanone-3-ol moiety. The elucidation of the fragmentation behavior of 1 was facilitated by acquiring information on the fragmentation characteristics of the flavanone-3-ol moieties and 2. The capability of the accurate mass measurement on the quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer allowed us to determine the elemental composition of each major product ion. Second-generation product ion spectra obtained by combination of in-source collision induced dissociation (CID) with selective CID (pseudo-MS(3)) was also helpful in elaborating the fragmentation pathways and mechanism. Based on the experimental results, a fragmentation mechanism as well as fragmentation pathways for 1 and its flavanone-3-ol building blocks (3, 4) are proposed and discussed.  相似文献

The gas-phase methylenation reaction between CH(3)S(+)=CH(2) and alkylbenzenes, aniline, phenol and alkyl phenyl ethers, which yields [M + CH](+) and CH(3)SH, has been studied by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) techniques and computational chemistry at the DFT level. The methylthiomethyl cation is less reactive than methoxymethyl and, unlike the latter, is unreactive toward benzene. The calculations suggest that reaction with toluene should proceed primarily by addition at the para and ortho positions resulting in a benzyl-type ion. Reaction with aniline-2,3,4,5,6-d(5) reveals that elimination of CH(3)SD is kinetically favored by a factor of 5 over elimination of CH(3)SH. Experiments with C(6)H(6)ND(2) and theoretical calculations suggest that methylenation at the nitrogen atom is energetically favorable and likely, but the observed results may reflect some H/D scrambling, which occurs after attack at a ring position. By comparison, reaction with phenol-2,3,4,5,6-d(5) reveals that methylenation followed by elimination of CH(3)SD is kinetically favored by a factor of 3.8 over elimination of CH(3)SH. For phenol, the theoretical calculations suggest that attack by CH(3)S(+)=CH(2) at the para or ortho position is the only low-energy pathway for methylenation. However, a low-energy pathway for hydrogen scrambling is predicted by the calculations originating from the exit complex, [CH(3)SH(...) CH(2)=C(6)H(4)=OH](+), of reaction at a ring position.  相似文献

The fragmentation reactions of the radical cations, M(·+), of histidine, 2-oxo-histidine and 2-thioxo-histidine were examined using a combination of experiments performed on a linear ion trap and density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the UB3-LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. Low-energy collision-induced dissociation (CID) on [Cu(II)(terpy)(M)](2+) complexes, formed via electrospray ionisation, produced the radical cations in sufficient yield to examine their unimolecular chemistry via an additional stage of CID. The CID spectrum of the radical cation of histidine is dominated by loss of water with the next most abundant ion arising from the combined loss of H(2)O and CO. In contrast, the CID spectra of the radical cations of 2-oxo-histidine and 2-thioxo-histidine are dominated by the combined loss of CO(2) and NH=CH(2). The observed differences are rationalised via DFT calculations which reveal that the barrier associated with loss of CO(2) from the histidine radical cation is higher than that for loss of H(2)O. In contrast, the introduction of an oxygen or sulfur atom into the side chain of histidine results in a reversal of the order of these barrier heights, thus making CO(2) loss the preferred pathway.  相似文献

With its detection limit well below 30 pg microl(-1) LC-MS-MS has become a sensitive and thus popular analytical technique for organoarsenical compounds. Collision induced dissociation (CID) is a valuable tool for speciation and facilitates a positive identification of the species detected. However, it is not straightforward to understand the fragmentation pathways of organoarsenical compounds when only CID-MS-MS data is available. In the present paper we have investigated multiple mass spectrometry (MSn, n=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) with electrospray CID fragmentation for a number of organoarsenical compounds likely to occur in the environment. The investigated compounds were tetramethylarsonium, trimethylarsinoxide, monomethylarsonic acid, dimethylarsinic acid, arsenobetaine, arsenocholine, and dimethylarsinoylethanol. By CID of (protonated) organoarsenical cations mostly even-electron fragments are produced after neutral loss processes such as elimination of H2, H2O, CH4, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, HCHO, CH3OH, C2H5OH, C2H4O, and CH2CO. However, abundant odd-electron fragments are also formed after elimination of radical species. Evidence for reduction of As(V) to As(III) as a driving force in the odd-electron ion formation is obtained.  相似文献

Nickel cation-acetylene complexes of the form Ni(+)(C(2)H(2))(n), Ni(+)(C(2)H(2))Ne, and Ni(+)(C(2)H(2))(n)Ar(m) (n = 1-4) are produced in a molecular beam by pulsed laser vaporization. These ions are size-selected and studied in a time-of-flight mass spectrometer by infrared laser photodissociation spectroscopy in the C-H stretch region. The fragmentation patterns indicate that the coordination number is 4 for this system. The n = 1-4 complexes with and without rare gas atoms are also investigated with density functional theory. The combined IR spectra and theory show that pi-complexes are formed for the n = 1-4 species, causing the C-H stretches in the acetylene ligands to shift to lower frequencies. Theory reveals that there are low-lying excited states nearly degenerate with the ground state for all the Ni(+)(C(2)H(2))(n) complexes. Although isomeric structures are identified for rare gas atom binding at different sites, the attachment of rare gas atoms results in only minor perturbations on the structures and spectra for all complexes. Experiment and theory agree that multiple acetylene binding takes place to form low-symmetry structures, presumably due to Jahn-Teller distortion and/or ligand steric effects. The fully coordinated Ni(+)(C(2)H(2))(4) complex has a near-tetrahedral structure.  相似文献

The unimolecular metastable decompositions of dimethoxymethane (CH(2)(OCH(3))(2), 1) and 1,1-dimethoxyethane (CH(3)CH(OCH(3))(2), 2) upon electron impact have been investigated by means of mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectrometry, collision-induced dissociation (CID) spectrometry and D-labeling techniques. Both molecular ions are formed at extremely low abundance. Sequential transfers of a methyl group and a hydrogen atom to an ether oxygen are observed during the decomposition of [M - H](+) ions from 1 and 2. The [M - H](+) ion from 2 also decomposes into the m/z 43 ion by the loss of dimethyl ether. Almost complete hydrogen exchange is observed prior to the loss of CH(4) from the m/z 45 ion ([M - OCH(3)](+)) of 1. The m/z 59 ions ([M - OCH(3)](+)) of 2 decompose competitively into the m/z 31 and 29 ions by the losses of C(2)H(4) and CH(2)O, respectively. The former loss occurs via two different fragmentation pathways. The relative abundances of the ions in the MIKE spectra increase with decreases in the total heat of formation (Sigma DeltaH(f)) of the ion plus the neutral fragment. By using a high-resolution single mode infrared-optical parametric oscillator laser to prepare CH(3)I in single (J,K) rotational levels of the nu(1) (symmetric C-H stretching) =1 vibrational state, we have obtained rovibrationally resolved infrared-vacuum ultraviolet-pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (IR-VUV-PFI-PE) spectra of the CH(3)I(+)(X(2)E(32);nu(1)(+)=1;J(+),P(+)) band, where (J,K) and (J(+),P(+)) represent the respective rotational quantum numbers of CH(3)I and CH(3)I(+). The IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra observed for K=0 and 1 are found to have nearly identical structures. The IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra for (J,K)=(5,0) and (7, 0) are also consistent with the previous J-selected IR-VUV-PFI-PE measurements. The analysis of these spectra indicates that the photoionization cross section of CH(3)I depends strongly on DeltaJ(+)=J(+)-J: but not on J and K. This observation lends strong support for the major assumption adopted for the semiempirical simulation scheme, which has been used for the simulation of the origin bands observed in VUV-PFI-PE study of polyatomic molecules. Using the state-to-state photoionization cross sections determined in this IR-VUV study, we have obtained excellent simulation of the VUV-PFI-PE origin band of CH(3)I(+)(X (2)E(32)), yielding more precise IE(CH(3)I)=76 930.7+/-0.5 cm(-1) and nu(1) (+)=2937.8+/-0.2 cm(-1).  相似文献

Electrospray ionization (ESI) of tetrameric platinum(II) acetate, [Pt(4)(CH(3)COO)(8)], in methanol generates the formal platinum(III) dimeric cation [Pt(2)(CH(3)COO)(3)(CH(2)COO)(MeOH)(2)](+), which, upon harsher ionization conditions, sequentially loses the two methanol ligands, CO(2), and CH(2)COO to form the platinum(II) dimer [Pt(2)(CH(3)COO)(2)(CH(3))](+). Next, intramolecular sequential double hydrogen-atom transfer from the methyl group concomitant with the elimination of two acetic acid molecules produces Pt(2)CH(+) from which, upon even harsher conditions, PtCH(+) is eventually generated. This degradation sequence is supported by collision-induced dissociation (CID) experiments, extensive isotope-labeling studies, and DFT calculations. Both PtCH(+) and Pt(2)CH(+) react under thermal conditions with the hydrocarbons C(2)H(n) (n=2, 4, 6) and C(3)H(n) (n=6, 8). While, in ion-molecule reactions of PtCH(+) with C(2) hydrocarbons, the relative rates decrease with increasing n, the opposite trend holds true for Pt(2)CH(+). The Pt(2)CH(+) cluster only sluggishly reacts with C(2)H(2), but with C(2)H(4) and C(2)H(6) dihydrogen loss dominates. The reactions with the latter two substrates were preceded by a complete exchange of all of the hydrogen atoms present in the adduct complex. The PtCH(+) ion is much less selective. In the reactions with C(2)H(2) and C(2)H(4), elimination of H(2) occurs; however, CH(4) formation prevails in the decomposition of the adduct complex that is formed with C(2)H(6). In the reaction with C(2)H(2), in addition to H(2) loss, C(3)H(3)(+) is produced, and this process formally corresponds to the transfer of the cationic methylidyne unit CH(+) to C(2)H(2), accompanied by the release of neutral Pt. In the ion-molecule reactions with the C(3) hydrocarbons C(3)H(6) and C(3)H(8), dihydrogen loss occurs with high selectivity for Pt(2)CH(+), but in the reactions of these substrates with PtCH(+) several reaction routes compete. Finally, in the ion-molecule reactions with ammonia, both platinum complexes give rise to proton transfer to produce NH(4)(+); however, only the encounter complex generated with PtCH(+) undergoes efficient dehydrogenation of the substrate, and the rather minor formation of CNH(4)(+) indicates that C-N bond coupling is inefficient.  相似文献

Two new one-dimensional heterometallic complexes, [Mn(3)Na(L)(4)(CH(3)CO(2))(MeOH)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·3H(2)O (1), [Mn(3)Na(L)(4)(CH(3)CH(2)CO(2))(MeOH)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2MeOH·H(2)O (2) [LH(2) = 2-methyl-2-(2-pyridyl)propane-1,3-diol], have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Both complexes feature Mn(II) and Na(I) ions in trigonal-prismatic geometries that are linked to octahedral Mn(IV) ions by alkoxy bridges. Variable-temperature direct- and alternating-current magnetic susceptibility data indicated a spin ground state of S = 11/2 for both complexes. Density functional theory calculations performed on 1 supported this conclusion.  相似文献
