A coupled thermoviscoelastic frictional contact problem is investigated. The contact is modelled by the Signorini condition for the displacement velocities and the friction by the Coulomb law. The heat generated by friction is described by a non‐linear boundary condition with at most linear growth. The weak formulation of the problem consists of a variational inequality for the elasticity part and a variational equation for the heat conduction part. In order to prove the existence of a solution to this problem we first use an approximation of the Signorini condition by the penalty method. The existence of a solution for the approximate problem is shown using the fixed‐point theorem of Schauder. This theorem is applied to the composition of the solution operator for the contact problem with given temperature field and the solution operator for the heat equation problem with known displacement field. To obtain this proof, the unique solvability of both problems is necessary. Due to this reason it is necessary to introduce the penalty method. While the penalized contact problem has a unique solution, this is not clear for the original contact problem. Given a complex analytical Hamiltonian system, we prove that a necessary condition for its meromorphic complete integrability is the commutativity of the identity component of the Galois group of each variational equation of arbitrary order along any integral curve. This was conjectured by the first author based on a suggestion by the third author. The first-order non-integrability criterion, obtained by the first and second authors using only first variational equations, is extended to higher orders by the present criterion. Using this result (at order two, three or higher) it is possible to solve important open problems of integrability which escaped the first order criterion.  相似文献

In this paper we study a dynamical system which consists of the Cauchy problem for a nonlinear evolution equation of first order coupled with a nonlinear time-dependent variational–hemivariational inequality with constraint in Banach spaces. The evolution equation is considered in the framework of evolution triple of spaces, and the inequality which involves both the convex and nonconvex potentials. We prove existence of solution by the Kakutani–Ky Fan fixed point theorem combined with the Minty formulation and the theory of hemivariational inequalities. We illustrate our findings by examining a nonlinear quasistatic elastic frictional contact problem for which we provide a result on existence of weak solution.  相似文献

In this work, the authors considered the periodic optimal control problem of Fitzhugh-Nagumo equation. They firstly prove the existence of time-periodic solution to Fitzhugh-Nagumo equation. Then they show the existence of optimal solution to the optimal control problem, and finally the first order necessary condition is obtained by constructing an appropriate penalty function.  相似文献

The problem under consideration is that of determining a function which is a solution of the Helmholtz equation in a planar region exterior to a simple closed curve and of an inhomogeneous Helmholtz equation inside the curve. Jump conditions on the function and its normal derivative across the cruve are given. The problem is first transformed into one involving the inner region only with a boundary condition which is non-local. This means that the solution at a point on the boundary is a functional of its values elsewhere. This second problem is further transformed into a variational form with all boundary conditions natural. It is shown that the variational problem has a solution. Finite dimensional approximate problems are defined and they are shown to have solutions converging to the solution of the variational problem.  相似文献

Existence of solutions for a nonlinear fourth order ordinary differential equation arising in beam theory is considered. We obtain solutions by a degree argument under a non-asymptotic condition on the nonlinear terms of the problem. Moreover, assuming a potential Landesman-Lazer condition, we prove the existence of at least one solution by variational methods.  相似文献

We use variational methods to study problems in nonlinear 3-dimensional elasticity where the deformation of the elastic body is restricted by a rigid obstacle. For an assigned variational problem we first verify the existence of constrained minimizers whereby we extend previous results. Then we rigorously derive the Euler-Lagrange equation as necessary condition for minimizers, which was possible before only under strong smoothness assumptions on the solution. The Lagrange multiplier corresponding to the obstacle constraint provides structural information about the nature of frictionless contact. In the case of contact with, e.g., a corner of the obstacle, we derive a qualitatively new contact condition taking into account the deformed shape of the elastic body. By our analysis it is shown here for the first time rigorously that energy minimizers really solve the mechanical contact problem. The purpose of this paper is to establish the first and second order necessary conditions for stochastic optimal controls in infinite dimensions. The control system is governed by a stochastic evolution equation, in which both drift and diffusion terms may contain the control variable and the set of controls is allowed to be nonconvex. Only one adjoint equation is introduced to derive the first order necessary optimality condition either by means of the classical variational analysis approach or, under an additional assumption, by using differential calculus of set-valued maps. More importantly, in order to avoid the essential difficulty with the well-posedness of higher order adjoint equations, using again the classical variational analysis approach, only the first and the second order adjoint equations are needed to formulate the second order necessary optimality condition, in which the solutions to the second order adjoint equation are understood in the sense of the relaxed transposition.  相似文献

In this paper we present a model of dynamic frictional contact between a thermoviscoelastic body and a foundation. The thermoviscoelastic constitutive law includes a temperature effect described by the parabolic equation with the subdifferential boundary condition and a damage effect described by the parabolic inclusion with the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. Contact is modeled with bilateral condition and is associated to a subdifferential frictional law. The variational formulation of the problem leads to a system of hyperbolic hemivariational inequality for the displacement, parabolic hemivariational inequality for the temperature and parabolic variational inequality for the damage. The existence of a unique weak solution is proved by using recent results from the theory of hemivariational inequalities, variational inequalities, and a fixed point argument.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new concept of exceptional family of elements (abbreviated, exceptional family) for a finite-dimensional nonlinear variational inequality problem. By using this new concept, we establish a general sufficient condition for the existence of a solution to the problem. Such a condition is used to develop several new existence theorems. Among other things, a sufficient and necessary condition for the solvability of pseudo-monotone variational inequality problem is proved. The notion of coercivity of a function and related classical existence theorems for variational inequality are also generalized. Finally, a solution condition for a class of nonlinear complementarity problems with so-called P * -mappings is also obtained.  相似文献

This paper deals with two-scale difference equations having an arbitrary dilation parameter and a formal power series as symbol. We investigate the equation concerning the existence of nonzero compactly supported distributional solutions. In order to include also continuous solutions it is advantageous to consider the two-scale difference equation as eigenvalue problem where the solutions are either compactly supported or integrals of compactly supported distributions. Such solutions are called eigenfunctions. As main result we determine the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of eigenfunctions that the symbol must be a rational function with a special structure depending on the dilation parameter. We show that the eigenfunctions can be expressed by means of a finite sum of shifted eigenfunctions belonging to the case with a polynomial symbol (characteristic polynomial), which is well investigated.  相似文献

We deal with the system describing moderately large deflections of thin viscoelastic plates with an inner obstacle. In the case of a long memory the system consists of an integro-differential 4th order variational inequality for the deflection and an equation with a biharmonic left-hand side and an integro-differential right-hand side for the Airy stress function. The existence of a solution in a special case of the Dirichlet-Prony series is verified by transforming the problem into a sequence of stationary variational inequalities of von Karman type. We derive conditions for applying the Banach fixed point theorem enabling us to solve the biharmonic variational inequalities for each time step.  相似文献
