The refractive indices of non-chopped and chopped films of cryolite, MgF2 and mixed cryolite-MgF2, which is higher than the bulk value, measured using spectro-photometer, ellipsometer and Abeles method are observed to be higher than corres-ponding bulk values. Chopped films show a higher refractive index than non-chopped films. The electron diffraction study shows a more amorphous structure for the chopped films. The major part played by chop-time seems to be in increasing the initial minute’s-scale aging rather than settling of ad-atoms during chop-time. The observed dispersion curve shows that some unknown material other than water gives an important aging effect.  相似文献

采用金属有机分解法(MOD)在石英衬底上沉积了SrTiO3薄膜。所制备的薄膜是晶格常数为a=b=c=3.90?的多晶结构。通过测量190—1100nm波段内的透射光谱,采用包络方法计算了薄膜的光学常数(折射率n和消光系数k)。结果表明,采用MOD方法制备的薄膜的折射率大于采用射频磁控溅射、溶胶—凝胶和化学气相沉积方法制备的薄膜的折射率;薄膜的折射率色散关系满足单振子模型,其中振子强度S0为0.88′1014m-2,振子能量E0为6.40eV;薄膜的禁带宽度为3.68eV。  相似文献

The kinetics of photoinduced effects on Ga5Sb10Ge25Se60 thin film exposed to continuous wave laser radiations are studied as a function of exposure time and laser intensity. The transmission and reflection spectra of thin films before and after exposure are investigated. The optical band gap and the refractive index are derived from the above spectra. Generalized Miller's rule and linear refractive index are used to find the nonlinear susceptibility and nonlinear refractive index of the thin films. The studies show a red shift in the band gap with increase in exposure time and laser power which is attributed to the photoinduced darkening in the films.  相似文献

In this paper, different homogenous compositions of Ge30? x Se70Ag x (0?≤?x?≤?30 at%) thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation. Reflection spectra, R(λ), for the films were measured in the wavelength range 400–2500?nm. A straightforward analysis proposed by Minkov [J. Phys. D: Appl. Phys. 22 (1989) p.1157], based on the maxima and minima of the reflection spectra, allows us to derive the real and imaginary parts of the complex index of refraction and the film thickness of the studied films. Increasing Ag content at the expense of Ge atoms is found to affect the refractive index and the extinction coefficient of the films. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the single-oscillator Wemple–DiDomenico model. Optical absorption measurements were used to obtain the fundamental absorption edge as a function of composition. With increasing Ag content, the refractive index increases while the optical band gap decreases. The compositional dependence of the optical band gap for the Ge30? x Se70Ag x (0?≤?x?≤?30) thin films is discussed in terms of the chemical bond approach.  相似文献

Amorphous GeGaS thin films have been successfully deposited onto glass slides at room temperature by the thermal evaporation technique. The structural units of the films were studied using Raman spectroscopy. In addition to the basic structural units of GeS4 tetrahedra, there are some SS and GeGe homopolar bonds which exist in the films. The increase in Ge atoms leads to the replacement of SS bonds by GeGe bonds, and the isolated Ge(Ga)S4 tetrahedra units transform into corner-sharing or edge-sharing Ge(Ga)S4 tetrahedra units in the films. The refractive index and optical band gap were derived from transmission spectra of films. The values of optical band gap decrease while the refractive indices increase with increasing Ge content. Composition dependence of optical band gap and refractive index has also been interpreted in terms of the variation in the structure of films based on Raman spectra.  相似文献

The optical properties of vapour chopped and nonchopped bismuth oxide thin films of two thicknesses 1500 Å and 2000 Å have been studied. The films were prepared by thermal oxidation in air; of vacuum evaporated vapour chopped and nonchopped bismuth thin films. As revealed by XRD studies, multiphase and polycrystalline bismuth oxide thin films were obtained. The refractive index was found to increase with the thickness and exposure to air for 40 days. The vapour chopped films showed higher refractive index, band gap and lower grain size than those of nonchopped films. The films showed high transmittance in the visible spectrum. The ageing effect on the vapour chopped films was found low.  相似文献

We report the structural and optical properties of high-energy ion-beam irradiated Co-doped magnesium titanate thin films. (Mg0.95Co0.05)TiO3 (MCT) thin films were deposited on quartz substrates using radio frequency magnetron sputtering. Subsequently, the films were annealed for crystallinity and were irradiated with 100?MeV Ag ions by varying the ion fluence. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the films before and after the irradiation were refined using the Rietveld refinement and the variations in the lattice parameters were correlated with the ion fluence. Although, annealing of thin films results in an enhancement in refractive index and optical bandgap, the ion fluence induces significant changes in the refractive index and optical bandgap. Atomic force microscopy is employed to study the surface morphology of the films. The impact of ion fluence on structural and optical properties of MCT thin films has been investigated.  相似文献

BaTiO3 thin films with different thickness have been grown on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates by a modified sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction analyses show that the BaTiO3 thin films are polycrystalline. The crystalline quality of the films is improved with increasing thickness. The infrared optical properties of the BaTiO3 thin films have been investigated using an infrared spectroscopic ellipsometry in the wave number range of 800-4000 cm−1 (2.5-12.5 μm). By fitting the measured pseudodielectric functions with a three-phase model (Air/BaTiO3/Pt), and a derived classical dispersion relation for the thin films, the optical constants and thicknesses of the thin films have been simultaneously obtained. The refractive index of the BaTiO3 thin films increases and on the other hand, the extinction coefficient does not change with increasing thickness in the entirely measured wave number range. The dependence of the refractive index on the film thickness has been discussed in detail and was mainly due to both the crystalline quality of the films and packing density. Finally, the absorption coefficient was calculated in the infrared region for applications in the pyroelectric IR detectors.  相似文献

The effect of varying bismuth concentration on the optical constants of amorphous Ge20Se80? x Bi x (where x = 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 at%) thin films prepared by thermal evaporation has been investigated. The transmission spectra T(λ) of the films at normal incidence were obtained in the spectral region from 400 to 2500 nm. An analysis proposed by Swanepoel [J. Phys. E: Sci. Instrum. 16 (1983) p.1214], based on the use of the maxima and minima of the interference fringes, was applied to derive the real and imaginary parts of the complex index of refraction and also the film thickness. Increasing bismuth content was found to affect the refractive index and extinction coefficient of the Ge20Se80? x Bi x films. Optical absorption measurements show that the fundamental absorption edge is a function of composition. With increasing bismuth content, the refractive index increases while the optical band gap decreases.  相似文献

Ternary thin films of cerium titanium zirconium mixed oxide were prepared by the sol-gel process and deposited by a spin coating technique at different spin speeds (1000-4000 rpm). Ceric ammonium nitrate, Ce(NO3)6(NH4)2, titanium butoxide, Ti[O(CH2)3CH3]4, and zirconium propoxide, Zr(OCH2CH2CH3)4, were used as starting materials. Differential calorimetric analysis (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were carried out on the CeO2-TiO2-ZrO2 gel to study the decomposition and phase transition of the gel. For molecular, structural, elemental, and morphological characterization of the films, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectral analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), cross-sectional scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were carried out. All the ternary oxide thin films were amorphous. The optical constants (refractive index, extinction coefficient, band gap) and thickness of the films were determined in the 350-1000 nm wavelength range by using an nkd spectrophotometer. The refractive index, extinction coefficient, and thickness of the films were changed by varying the spin speed. The oscillator and dispersion energies were obtained using the Wemple-DiDomenico dispersion relationship. The optical band gap is independent of the spin speed and has a value of about Eg≈2.82±0.04 eV for indirect transition.  相似文献

Thin films of In-doped Ge-S in the form of Ge35In8S57 with different film thickness were deposited using an evaporation method. The X-ray diffraction studies demonstrate that the as-prepared films are amorphous in nature for these films. Some optical constants were calculated at a thickness of 150, 300, 450 and 900?nm and annealing temperature of 373, 413, 437 and 513?K. Our optical observations show that the mechanism of the optical transition obeys the indirect transition. It was found that the energy gap, Eg, decreases from 2.44 to 2.20?eV with expanding the thickness of the film from 150 to 900?nm. On the other hand, it was found that Eg increases with annealing temperature from 373 to 513?K. The increment in the band gap can be attributed to the gradual annealing out of the unsaturated bonds delivering a decreasing the density of localized states in the band structure. Using the single oscillator model, the dispersion of the refractive index is described. The dispersion constants of these films were calculated with different both thickness and annealing temperatures. Additionally, both of nonlinear susceptibility, χ(3) and nonlinear refractive index, n2 were calculated.  相似文献

基于溶胶凝胶ZrO2薄膜的紫外/可见/近红外透射实验光谱,采用Swanepoel方法结合Wemple-DiDomenico色散模型,方便地导出了ZrO2薄膜在200—1200nm波长范围内的光学常数,包括折射率、色散常数、膜层厚度、吸收系数及能量带隙.研究发现,溶胶凝胶ZrO2薄膜具有高折射率(1.63—1.93,测试波长为632.8nm)、低吸收和直接能量带隙(4.97—5.63eV) 等光学特性,而且其光学常数对薄膜制备过程中的重要工艺 关键词: 光学常数 Swanepoel方法 2薄膜')" href="#">ZrO2薄膜 热处理  相似文献

Thin films of manganese (III) chloride 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl-21H,23H-porphine (MnTPPCl) with different film thickness were deposited by an evaporation technique. Some optical constants were calculated for these films at a thickness of 110, 220 and 330 nm and annealing temperature of 373 and 437 K. IR spectrum demonstrating that the thermal evaporation method is a good one to acquire undissociated and stoichiometric MnTPPCl films. Our perceptions demonstrate that the mechanism of the optical absorption obeys with the indirect transition. It was found that the energy gap, Eg, affected by the film thickness and annealing. Dispersion of the refractive index is described using single oscillator model. Dispersion parameters are calculated as a function of the film thickness and annealing temperature. In addition, the third-order nonlinear susceptibility, χ(3), and the nonlinear refractive index, n2, were calculated.  相似文献

TiO2, which is high in refractive index and dielectric constant, plays an important role in the fields of optics and electronics. In this work, TiO2 films were prepared on glass substrates by the technique of ion beam assisted electron beam evaporation. The films were deposited at 50, 150 and 300 °C, respectively. Then the as-deposited TiO2 films were annealed at 450 °C for 1 h in vacuum atmosphere. Structures and optical properties of TiO2 films were characterized by XRD, SEM, ellipsometry and spectrophotometer. As a result, the structure and the refractive index of films were improved by both the annealing and the increasing of the deposition temperature. The UV-vis transmittance spectra also confirmed that the deposition temperature has a significant effect on the transparency of the thin films. The highest transparency over the visible wavelength region of spectra was obtained at the deposition temperature of 300 °C. The allowed direct band gap at the deposition temperature ranging from 50 to 300 °C was estimated to be in the range from 3.81 to 3.92 eV.  相似文献

In this work the optical and the gas sensing properties of thick TiO2 waveguide films, produced by pulsed laser deposition, were investigated by m-line spectroscopy. The films were deposited on (0 0 1) SiO2 substrates at temperature of 100 °C. The thickness of the films was measured to be in the range from 650 to 1900 nm and the roughness increases from 5 to 14.6 nm. High quality mode spectra, consisted of thin and bright TE and TM modes, were observed in the films with thickness up to 1200 nm. All the films revealed anisotropic optical properties. Gas sensitivity of the films to CO2 was examined at room temperature on the basis of the variations of the refractive index. CO2 concentration of 3 × 104 ppm was detected, which corresponds to a refractive index variation of about 1 × 10−4. The crystal structure and the optical transmittance of the films were also presented and discussed.  相似文献

The optical constants (absorption coefficient, refractive index, extention coefficient, real and imaginary part of dielectric constant) have been studied for a-Se80Te20−xPbx (where x = 0, 2, 6, 10) thin films as a function of photon energy in the wave length range (500–1000 nm). It has been found that the optical band gap increases while the refractive index and the extinction coefficient (k) decreases on incorporation of lead in Se–Te system. The value of absorption coefficient (α) and the extinction coefficient (k) increases, while the value of refractive index (n) decreases with incident photon energy. The results are interpreted in terms of the change in concentration of localized states due to the shift in fermi level.  相似文献

In a program on the development of metal (e.g. Au, Ag, Cu and their alloy) nanoparticles in sol-gel derived films, attempts were made to synthesize different coloured coatings on glasses and plastics. The absorption position of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band arising from the embedded metal nanoparticles was tailored by controlling the refractive index of the matrix for the development of different colours. Thus different coloured (pink to blue) coatings on ordinary sheet glasses were prepared by generating Au nanoparticles in mixed SiO2-TiO2 matrices having refractive index values ranging from about 1.41 to 1.93. In another development,in situ generation of Ag nanoparticles in the inorganic-organic hybrid host leads to the formation of different abrasion resistant coloured coatings (yellow to pink) on polycarbonate substrates after curing. As expected, the SPR peak of Ag or Au is gradually red-shifted due to the increase of refractive index of the coating matrices causing a systematic change of colour  相似文献

The hardness and Young's modulus of thick rutile-TiO2 films were determined using a continuous stiffness measurement (CSM) technique in this study. Pure rutile-TiO2 nanopowders (TH2O, TFeSO4 and TCuSO4) were prepared using a modified homogeneous-precipitation process at low temperature (MHPPLT) method. The TiO2 films were prepared from sols using 3% (w/w) of the prepared-TiO2 suspension solution coated onto silicon wafers. After dip-coating was completed, the coatings were further treated by natural air-drying, water-vapor exposure, and calcination, respectively. An ellipsometry with a monochromator was used to measure the thickness and refractive index of the TiO2 films, and a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to determine their morphology. Three coatings of TH2O, TFeSO4 and TCuSO4 demonstrated their refractive indexes of around 1.60 under three treatments. Volumetric expansion and thickness of the coatings should influence their refractive index. Furthermore, the continuous stiffness measurement (CSM) technique was used to perform nanoindentation testing on the hardness and Young's modulus of prepared rutile-TiO2 coatings. The mean hardness and Young's modulus of three coatings increased with preparation temperature. In addition, the TH2O coatings demonstrated greater hardness and modulus than those of TFeSO4 and TCuSO4 coatings in the natural air-drying condition. Surface cracking observed on the calcinated TFeSO4 should be the reason why an obvious decrease of the mean hardness and Young's modulus appeared. Finally, two mechanical properties and related nanoindentation depth of the coatings were discussed in detail.  相似文献
