初等与非初等函数的关系

首先对现行教材中初等函数的定义提出了商讨意见,讨论了高等数学教材中出现的形式上的非初等函数与初等函数的关系,并通过一些有代表性的例子加以说明.     

Formulating an objective for an economy

This paper is dedicated to the memory of E.M.L. Beale. Not a small part of Martin Beale's success in developing and solving large-scale mathematical programs is attributed to the care he took in properly formulating his models.Our presentation concerns our efforts to also properly formulate a model. Our model is an economic model used for technology assessment. In order for it to be useful, it is important that the dual variables represent as realistically as possible real world prices. This required us to formulate the model as a time-staged economic equilibrium model. Our main result is a proof that an equilibrium formulation using expected aggregate demand can under certain conditions be replaced by one in which the economy is driven by an aggregate utility or objective function, one that promotes economic growth subject to physical flow constraints. We show that such an objective function always exists except for populations consisting of significantly large classes of people whose consumption patterns differ radically one from another. Assuming that the latter is not the case, this equivalent formulation means that mathematical programming software can be applied to efficiently solve the model. This paper summarizes an extensive paper entitled Deriving a Utilty Function for the U.S. Economy [3]. The circle as an attractor of an iterated function system on the plane

We give an iterated function system (IFS) on the plane with the circle as attractor. In doing this, we also give a sufficient condition for radially contracting functions on the plane (or on Rn) to be a contraction. A counterexample shows that radial contractiveness is not enough to be a contraction.

Some completely monotonic functions involving polygamma functions and an application

By using the first Binet's formula the strictly completely monotonic properties of functions involving the psi and polygamma functions are obtained. As direct consequences, two inequalities are proved. As an application, the best lower and upper bounds of the nth harmonic number are established.     

Derivation of the hypergeometric distribution: an alternative reasoning approach

This note presents an alternative approach to the reasoning process and derivation of the hypergeometric probability mass function (pmf), and contrasts it with a binomial model. It utilizes the essential concept of sampling without replacement directly in the development of the mass function.

Some properties of an extended Wigner function

A covariant generalisation of Wigner function proposed by us some years ago is reviewed, and its remarkable and useful properties are elucidated; its being a natural solution to a relativistically covariant Liouville equation is also demonstrated.

Meromorphic solutions of an auxiliary ordinary differential equation using complex method

In this paper, we employ the complex method to obtain first all meromorphic solutions of an auxiliary ordinary differential equation and then find all meromorphic exact solutions of the classical Korteweg–de Vries equation, Boussinesq equation, ( 3 + 1)‐dimensional Jimbo–Miwa equation, and Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation. All meromorphic solutions of an ordinary differential equation and its applications

Dedicated to Professor Yuzan He on the Occasion of his 80th Birthday In this paper, we employ the complex method to obtain all meromorphic solutions of an auxiliary ordinary differential equation at first and then find out all meromorphic exact solutions of the combined KdV–mKdV equation and variant Boussinesq equations. Our result shows that all rational and simply periodic exact solutions of the combined KdV–mKdV equation and variant Boussinesq equations are solitary wave solutions, the method is more simple than other methods, and there exist some rational solutions w_r,2(z) and simply periodic solutions w_s,2(z) that are not only new but also not degenerated successively by the elliptic function solutions. Approximation of Subharmonic Functions in the Half-Plane by the Logarithm of the Modulus of an Analytic Function

We approximate subharmonic functions defined in the open half-plane in the uniform metric outside the exceptional set by the logarithm of the modulus of an analytic (in the half-plane) function for the cases of a finite order and of an infinite lower order. We also obtain an estimate for the size of the exceptional set. It is shown that, in the case of a finite order, the obtained accuracy of the approximation cannot be essentially improved.     

与Smarandache函数有关的一个方程的解的注记

设φ(n)、S(n)分别表示正整数n的Euler函数和Smarandache函数,白海荣和廖群英在[Smarandache函数的几类相关方程的解,数学学报中文版,2019,62(2):247-254]中称方程φ(n)=∑d|nS(d)只有两个解,分别为n=2^5和n=3×2^5.本文指出,这两个数均不是此方程的解,并指出其出错原因是因为他们对M?bius反转公式的错误理解所造成的.     

关于广义对数平均的一个不等式的加细

In this article,we show that the generalized logarithmic mean is strictly Schurconvex function for p＞2 and strictly Schur-concave function for P＜2 on R2+.And then we give a refinement of an inequality for the generalized logarithmic mean inequality using a simple majoricotion relation of the vector.

文[6]中,F.Qi提出了一个未解决的不等式问题.本文给出了此问题的答案和进一步的拓广,同时也得到了该问题的反向不等式.     

无穷积分余项与其被积函数比值的收敛阶

对一类函数的无穷积分余项与该函数的比值得到当x趋于无穷大时的收敛阶,这类函数是幂函数与指数函数的乘积函数,并将其应用到Mittag-Leffler函数.同时考虑了对应的级数情形.     

关于一个积分不等式的一些注记

Given two positive constantsαandβ,we prove that the integral inequality∫_0~1 f~(α+β)(x)dx≥∫_0~1 f~α(x)x~βdx holds for all non-negative valued continuous functions f satisfying∫_x~1 f(t)dt≥∫_x~1 tdt for x∈[0,1]if and only ifα+β≥1.This solves an open problem proposed recently by Ngo,Thang,Dat,and Tuan.
