In this paper, based on the symbolic computing system Maple, the direct method for Lie symmetry groups presented by Sen-Yue Lou [J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 38 (2005) L129] is extended from the continuous differential equations to the differential-difference equations. With the extended method, we study the well-known differential-difference KP equation, KZ equation and (2+1)-dimensional ANNV system, and both the Lie point symmetry groups and the non-Lie symmetry groups are obtained.  相似文献

The non-linear Kerr medium in the presence of damping and earlier associated with an SU(1,1) symmetry, is exactly solved as a spin damped system, associated with an SU(2) symmetry. The association with SU(2) is exploited to express the dynamics of the system as a Schrödinger-like equation, whose solution is obtained using the appropriate disentanglement theorem. This method is then extended to multi-mode coupled nonlinear oscillators for obtaining exact solutions.  相似文献

To describe two correlated events, the Alice–Bob (AB) systems were constructed by Lou through the symmetry of the shifted parity, time reversal and charge conjugation. In this paper, the coupled AB system of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation, which is a useful model in natural science, is established. By introducing an extended Bäcklund transformation and its bilinear formation, the symmetry breaking soliton, lump and breather solutions of this system are derived with the aid of some ansatze functions. Figures show these fascinating symmetry breaking structures of the explicit solutions.  相似文献

Hojman conserved quantities deduced from the special Lie symmetry, the Noether symmetry and the form invariance for a nonholonomic system of the unilateral non-Chetaev type in the event space are investigated. The differential equations of motion of the system above are established. The criteria of the Lie symmetry, the Noether symmetry and the form invariance are given and the relations between them are obtained. The Hojman conserved quantities are gained by which the Hojman theorem is extended and applied to the nonholonomic system of the unilateral non-Chetaev type in the event space. An example is given to illustrate the application of the results.  相似文献

A new class of clusters of three-dimensional dissipative inphase-and antiphase-coupled solitons is numerically found in a laser system with a saturable absorber. The orientation of clusters and their motion depend on the symmetry of spatiotemporal characteristic of the system and on the symmetry of arrangement of solitons in the cluster. An example of a nonplanar (spiral-like) trajectory of the center of a seven-soliton cluster possessing no symmetry elements is demonstrated. Collisions of moving soliton clusters, including those accompanied by exchange of solitons between clusters, are studied. Experimentally, three-dimensional dissipative optical solitons can be realized in a laser amplifier with a saturable absorber or in an extended resonator filled with a medium with nonlinear gain and absorption.  相似文献

We discuss modifications to the concept of an "antiparticle," induced by a breakdown of the CPT symmetry at a fundamental level, realized within an extended class of quantum gravity models. The resulting loss of particle-antiparticle identity in the neutral-meson system induces a breaking of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlation imposed by Bose statistics. This is parametrized by a complex parameter associated with the contamination by the "wrong symmetry" state. The physical consequences are studied, and novel observables of CPT violation in phi factories are proposed.  相似文献

In this paper, the direct symmetry method is extended to the Lax pair of the ANNV equation. As a result, symmetries of the Lax pair and the ANNV equation are obtained at the same time. Applying the obtained symmetry, the (2+1)-dimensional Lax pair is reduced to (1+1)-dimensional Lax pair, whose compatibility yields the reduction of the ANNV equation. Based on the obtained reductions of the ANNV equation, a lot of new exact solutions for the ANNV equation are found. This shows that for an integrable system, both the symmetry and the reductions can be obtained through its corresponding Lax pair.  相似文献

We develop a free-energy functional for an inhomogeneous system that contains both symmetry conserved and symmetry broken parts of the direct pair correlation function. These correlation functions are found by solving the Ornstein-Zernike equation with the Percus-Yevick closure relation. The method developed here gives the pair correlation functions in the ordered phase with features that agree well with the results found by computer simulations. The theory predicts accurately the isotropic-nematic transition in a system of anisotropic molecules and can be extended to study other ordered phases such as smectics and crystalline solids.  相似文献

We investigate for higher-order mechanics the conditions under which Lie derivation of a Cartan form with respect to a dynamical symmetry will give rise to a new Cartan form for the same system. Integrable dynamical systems, namely those having as many independent conserved quantities as freedoms, have all Lyapunov exponents equal to zero. Locally, the instantaneous or finite time Lyapunov exponents are nonzero, but owing to a symmetry, their global averages vanish. When the system becomes nonintegrable, this symmetry is broken. A parallel to this phenomenon occurs in mappings which derive from quasiperiodic Schr?dinger problems in 1-dimension. For values of the energy such that the eigenstate is extended, the Lyapunov exponent is zero, while if the eigenstate is localized, the Lyapunov exponent becomes negative. This occurs by a breaking of the quasiperiodic symmetry of local Lyapunov exponents, and corresponds to a breaking of a symmetry of the wavefunction in extended and critical states. In this paper, the extended symmetry of generalized variable-coeFficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (vcKP) equation is investigated by the extended symmetry group method with symbolic computation. Then on the basis of the extended symmetry, we can establish relation among some different kinds of vcKP equations. The (infinite-dimensional) supersymmetry algebra in 1 + 1 space-time dimension is extended in order to incorporate, in a non-trivial way, an internal symmetry. It turns out that this requirement implies that the internal symmetry is realized as a local gauge symmetry. Moreover, it is possible to construct string-like models with this underlying symmetry, where colour confinement is exactly realized as a consequence of the gauge constraints.  相似文献

Symmetry is conventionally described in a polarized manner that the system is either completely symmetric or completely asymmetric.Using group theoretical approach to overcome this dichotomous problem,we introduce the degree of symmetry(DoS) as a non-negative continuous number ranging from zero to unity.Do S is defined through an average of the fidelity deviations of Hamiltonian or quantum state over its transformation group G,and thus is computable by making use of the completeness relations of the irreducible representations of G.The monotonicity of Do S can effectively probe the extended group for accidental degeneracy while its multi-valued natures characterize some(spontaneous) symmetry breaking.  相似文献

A doubleness symmetry property of the two-dimensional reduced Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory is found and, by using the so-called extended double complex method proposed previously, the motion equations of the theory are extended into a double form. Some new double symmetry transformations and double solution generating methods are given. As applications of these transformations and methods, an infinite chain of double solutions and a new soliton double solution family of the model are obtained. These results demonstrate that the theory under consideration possesses more and richer symmetry structures than previously expected. It seems that some of these results can not be obtained by using only the usual (non-double) scheme.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of a nanotube are investigated using a model in which the helical symmetry of the nanotube is governed by an extended δ potential. The magnetic moment of the system is studied as a function of the magnetic flux. It is demonstrated that the equilibrium magnetic moment at a large amplitude of the δ potential is a smooth function of the magnetic flux. An expression is derived for the magnetic moment induced in the given system for the case in which the electron current in a ballistic regime passes through the system.  相似文献

In this paper, the extended symmetry transformation of (3+1)-dimensional (3D) generalized nonlinear Schrdinger (NLS) equations with variable coefficients is investigated by using the extended symmetry approach and symbolic computation. Then based on the extended symmetry, some 3D variable coefficient NLS equations are reduced to other variable coefficient NLS equations or the constant coefficient 3D NLS equation. By using these symmetry transformations, abundant exact solutions of some 3D NLS equations with distributed dispersion, nonlinearity, and gain or loss are obtained from the constant coefficient 3D NLS equation.  相似文献
