A multimode model is developed to determine optical losses in a waveguide laser cavity of cylindrical symmetry with mirrors of arbitrary radius of curvature. Within the framework of the model, it is possible to vary the parameters of the resonator: waveguide length, distance between the waveguide and mirrors, radius of curvature of the mirrors in a wide range taking account of mutual conversion of up to 10 waveguide modes and 20 modes of free space. The model was applied successfully to determine the optimal geometry of a semiconfocal cavity. A. N. The equivalent circuit modelling technique is used to study the resonant frequency and Q factor of plane parallel Fabry-Perot cavities with square aperture metal mesh mirrors. Comparison of different models found in literature with experimental data in the 60 GHz band is given for thin and thick cavities. Chen's model is shown to give a good agreement with measurements, as long as the cavity is not too selective and for large enough cavity.  相似文献

After deriving the expression of the intensity of the transmitted beam for a Gaussian beam nonnormally passing through a wedged Fabry-Perot cavity, the influence of the wedged angle in Fabry-Perot cavity mirrors alignment at a different tilted angle on the transmission of a Gaussian beam has been investigated theoretically. Numerical simulations show that the incidental angle and the wedged angle in Fabry-Perot cavity mirrors alignment have an important effect on the intensity distribution, the peak intensity, and the position of the peak intensity of the transmitted beam.  相似文献

We present a compact efficient scheme for generation of high-order Laguerre–Gaussian TEM p,0 modes in a diode-pumped actively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser. The resonator is composed of two plane mirrors with an intracavity concave lens to expand the cavity mode size for generating a high-power Laguerre–Gaussian TEM5,0 mode. We further confirm that the TEM5,0 mode is noticeably superior to the TEM0,0 mode in the processes of second and third harmonic generations.  相似文献

After deriving the expression of the intensity of the transmitted beam for a Gaussian beam passing through a misaligned FPI, the influence of the nonparallelism in FPI mirrors alignment on the transmission of a Gaussian beam has been investigated numerically. The results show that the energy profile of the total transmitted beam appears multiple sub-peaks structure; with the increase of the nonparallelism in FPI mirrors alignment, the number of the sub-peaks raises, the peak intensity of the transmitted beam has a declining tendency, and the peak intensity position of the total transmitted beam is shifted.  相似文献

基于多光束干涉原理,推导出了高斯光束经过两腔镜不严格平行的F P干涉仪后透射光强度的表达式。在此基础上,数值研究了F P干涉仪腔镜的不平行度对高斯光束透射特性的影响。结果表明:随着F P两腔镜不平行度的增大,透射光的峰值强度总体呈现下降的趋势,且在下降的过程中会出现波动;峰值强度位置将发生移动;光斑的均方根宽度将发生变化。  相似文献

Physical aspects of an operation of the GaAs-based InGaAs/GaAs quantum-well (QW) VCSELs with the intentionally detuned optical cavities have been considered in the present paper using the comprehensive three-dimensional self-consistent optical–electrical–thermal-gain simulation. In GaAs-based structures, very good DBR resonator mirrors and a very efficient methods to confine radially both the current spreading and the electromagnetic field with the aid of oxide apertures may be applied. It has been found using the above simulation that even currently available immature technology enables manufacturing the above devices emitting radiation of wavelengths over 1.20 μm. In particular, while the room-temperature 1.30-μm lasing emission is still beyond possibilities of the InGaAs/GaAs QW VCSELs, these structures may offer analogous 1.25-μm emission, especially for the high-power and/or high-temperature operation.  相似文献

A scheme is presented for the generation of entangled states for two cavity mirrors. In the scheme each mirror initially in a vacuum state interacts with a weak coherent field, resulting in a photon-number dependent kick. Gaussian quantum steering is a type of quantum correlation in which two entangled states exhibit asymmetry. An efficient theoretical proposal is presented for the control of quantum steering and enhancement of entanglement in a Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) cavity optomechanical system. The system contains two rotating mirrors and a coherently driven optical parametric amplifier (OPA). The numerical results show significantly improved mirror-mirror and mirror-cavity entanglements by controlling the system parameters such as parametric gain, parametric phase, and the frequency of the two rotating mirrors. In addition to bipartite entanglement, our system also exhibits mirror-cavity-mirror tripartite entanglement as well. Another intriguing finding is the control of quantum steering, for which several results were obtained by investigating it for various system parameters. It is shown that the steering directivity is primarily determined by the frequency of two rotating mirrors. Furthermore, for two rotating mirrors, quantum steering is found to be asymmetric both one-way and two-way. Therefore, it can be asserted that the current proposal may help in the understanding of non-local correlations and entanglement verification tasks.  相似文献

We propose a new accelerating structure for teraelectronvolt linear electron–positron colliders [1–4]. The structure is based on acceleration of a sequence of particle bunches (accelerated beam) by means of a periodic system of quasioptical cavities. Each cavity is operated at several eigenmodes with equidistant frequencies which are excited by a drive beam bunched with the same spatial period as the accelerated beam. The accelerating field represents a time-periodic sequence of narrow peaks separated by wide intervals of a field close to zero. This makes it possible to significantly decrease the effective time of exposure of the structure surface by ultrahigh microwave fields compared with the single-frequency structure. To maximize filling of the structure by accelerating-field regions and minimize ohmic losses, we suggest using a set of modes with a nonzero number of longitudinal variations strictly proportional to the frequencies of these modes. Such modes are able to provide long effective interaction of the total microwave field with a bunch of particles passing across the cavity. In this way, the acceleration gradient averaged over the structure length can be increased. A variant of the accelerating structure which is based on two-mirror cavities with small curvature of the mirrors is proposed. Such cavities can provide approximate frequency equidistance of a large number of modes with nonzero longitudinal variations.  相似文献

We study the transformation of multi-axis Laguerre–Gaussian beams from optical beams comprising Hermite–Gaussian modes with ray–wave duality. By use of cylindrical lenses, Hermite–Gaussian modes can be transformed into Laguerre–Gaussian modes possessing optical orbital angular momentum. The superposed Hermite–Gaussian modes localized on geometric trajectories are generated from a degenerate hemiconfocal cavity and transformed into multi-axis Laguerre–Gaussian beams. Experimental results of the structured beams are systematically manipulated and in good agreement with theoretical analyses.  相似文献

When measuring very small ellipticities or rotations induced on a polarized beam of light, Fabry–Pérot cavities are often used to increase the number of passes within the region of interest. In this paper we show that due to the intrinsic birefringence of the reflective surface of the cavity mirrors, a cross talk between dichroism and ellipticity is induced. Gaussian modes and pumping threshold values are found for a laser with spherical mirrors and angular selector. It is shown that, compared to the case of plane-parallel mirrors, the threshold overshoot is proportional to the square root of the mirror curvature. In the absence of the Kerr nonlinearity of the medium, exceeding the oscillation threshold of a stable cavity causes steady-state regimes to be established, whereas, for unstable cavities, pulsation regimes arise in a wide range of parameters. Calculations confirm the formation of moving localized structures in a laser with misaligned plane mirrors.  相似文献

Gaussian optics can be used to design a quasi-optical system converting the TE06 mode output (f=388 GHz) of a submillimeter wave gyrotron into a well-collimated, linearly-polarized free-space beam with a circular cross-section.  基于谐振腔失调灵敏度参量随腔长的变化关系,提出了一种衰荡腔,它是由共焦腔将腔长缩短为原来的0.73得到的稳定腔。根据光束传输规律和失调腔矩阵方法,以及光腔衰荡法测量原理和曲线拟合方法,建立了腔长、腔镜角度失调下光腔衰荡法的反射率测量模型。通过数值模拟,研究了这种稳定衰荡腔中,腔微小失调对反射率测量结果的影响,并与相同失调情况下共焦衰荡腔的测量结果进行了对比分析。结果表明,这种稳定腔用作衰荡腔,测量结果受腔镜角度失调影响较大,而受腔长失调影响小;其长度较短,便于工程应用;衍射损耗较小,测量精度高。  相似文献

A high-efficiency mode converter of the ITER gyrotron operating mode into the Gaussian wave beam has been developed. It includes an irradiating waveguide with shallow deformation and profiled quasi-optical mirrors to increase the Gaussian content. Low-power tests were carried out with a TE25.10 mode exciter and a mode converter. A prototype of the short-pulsed 170 GHz gymtmn with the new converter was manufactured and tested. Diffraction losses measured inside the tube were less then 2% at the 1 MW power level. A high Gaussian mode content in the output beam has been also demonstrated.  相似文献
