We present an analytical study on the dynamics of bright and dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates with time-varying atomic scattering length in a time-varying external parabolic potential. A set of exact soliton solutions of the one-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation are obtained, including fundamental bright solitons, higher-order bright solitons, and dark solitons. The results show that the soliton's parameters (amplitude, width, and period) can be changed in a controllable manner by changing the scattering length and external potential. This may be helpful to design experiments.  相似文献

We consider two coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations describing a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate with time-dependent atomic interactions loaded in an external harmonic potential, and investigate the dynamics of vector solitons.By using a direct method,we construct a novel family of vector soliton solutions, which are the linear combination between dark and bright solitons in each component. Our results show that due to the superposition between dark and bright solitons, such vector solitons possess many novel and interesting properties. The dynamics of vector solitons can be controlled by the Feshbach resonance technique, and the vector solitons can keep the dynamic stability against the variation of the scattering length.  相似文献

Two dark solitons are considered in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate with an external magnetic trap, and effects of the trap potential on their dynamics are investigated by the numerical simulation. The results show that the dark solitons attract, collide and repel periodically in two components as time changes, the time period depends strictly on the initial condition and the potential, and there are obvious self-trapping effects on the two dark solitons.  相似文献

We study the existence of dark solitons of the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schr¨odinger(NLS) eqaution with the spatially-periodic potential and nonlinearity. Firstly, we propose six families of upper and lower solutions of the dynamical systems arising from the stationary defocusing NLS equation. Secondly, by regarding a dark soliton as a heteroclinic orbit of the Poincar′e map, we present some constraint conditions for the periodic potential and nonlinearity to show the existence of stationary dark solitons of the defocusing NLS equation for six different cases in terms of the theory of strict lower and upper solutions and the dynamics of planar homeomorphisms. Finally, we give the explicit dark solitons of the defocusing NLS equation with the chosen periodic potential and nonlinearity.  相似文献

Mode-interaction plays an important role in the dark soliton generation in the microcavity. It is beneficial to the excitation of dark solitons, but also facilitates a variety of dark soliton states. Based on the non-normalized Lugiato-Lefever equation, the evolution of dark soliton in the microcavity with mode-interaction is investigated. By means of mode-interaction, the initial continuous wave(CW) field evolves into a dark soliton gradually, and the spectrum expands from a single mode to a broadband comb. After changing the mode-interaction parameters, the original modes which result in dual circular dark solitons inside the microcavity, are separated from the resonant mode by 2 free spectral ranges(FSR). When the initial field is another feasible pattern of weak white Gaussian noise, the large frequency detuning leads to the amplification of the optical power in the microcavity, and the mode-interaction becomes stronger. Then, multiple dark solitons, which correspond to the spectra with multi-FSR, can be excited by selecting appropriate mode-interaction parameters. In addition, by turning the mode-interaction parameters, the dark soliton number can be regulated, and the comb tooth interval in the spectrum also changes accordingly. Theoretical analysis results are significant for studying the dark soliton in the microcavity with mode-interaction.  相似文献

This paper presents a family of soliton solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrdinger equation which describes the dynamics of the dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates with an arbitrary x-dependent external potential. The obtained results show that the external potential has an important effect on the dark soliton dynamical characteristics of the condensates. The amplitude, width, and velocity of the output soliton are relative to the source position of the external potential. The smaller the amplitude of the soliton is,the narrower its width is,and the slower the soliton propagates. The collision of two dark solitons is nearly elastic.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamics of dark solitons in a Bose--Einstein condensate with a magnetic trap and an optical lattice (OL) trap, and analyses the effects of the periodic OL potential on the dynamics by applying the variational approach based on the renormalized integrals of motion. The results show that the dark soliton becomes only a standing-wave and free propagation of the dark soliton is not possible when the periodic length of the OL potential is approximately equal to the effective width of the dark soliton. When the periodic length is very small or very large, the effects of the OL potential on the dark soliton will be sharply reduced. Finally, the numerical results confirm these theoretical findings.  相似文献

We report on the rich dynamics of two-dimensional fundamental solitons coupled and interacting on the top of an elliptical shaped potential in a two-dimensional Ginzburg–Landau model. Under the elliptical shaped potential, the solitons display unique and dynamic properties, such as the generation of straight-line arrays, emission of either one elliptical shaped soliton or several elliptical ring soliton arrays, and soliton decay. When changing the depth and sharpness of the external potential and fixing other parameters of the potential, various scenarios of soliton dynamics are also revealed. These results suggest some possible applications for all-optical data-processing schemes, such as the routing of light signals in optical communication devices.  相似文献

The ring dark solitons and their head-on collisions in a Bose--Einstein condensates with thin disc-shaped potential are studied. It is shown that the system admits a solution with two concentric ring solitons, one moving inwards and the other moving outwards, which in small-amplitude limit, are described by the two cylindrical KdV equations in the respective reference frames. By using the extended Poincar\'e--Lighthill--Kuo perturbation method, the analytical phase shifts following the head-on collisions between two ring dark solitary waves are derived. It is shown that the phase shifts decrease with the radial coordinate $r$ according to the $r^{-1/3}$ law and depend on the initial soliton amplitude and radius.  相似文献

We discuss the possible nonlinear waves of atomic matter wave in a Bose-Einstein condensate. One and two of two-dimensional (2D) dark solitons in the Bose-Einstein condensed system are investigated. A rich dynamics is studied for the interactions between two solitons. The interaction profiles of two solitons are greatly different if the angle between them are different. If the angle is small enough, the maximum amplitude during the interaction between two solitons is even less than that of a single soliton. However, if the angle is large enough, the maximum amplitude of two solitons can gradually attend to the sum of two soliton amplitudes.  相似文献

Dynamics of two-component vector dark solitons are investigated by the variational approach in the defocusing nonlinear media, and effects of the weak nonlocality on the soliton propagation and interaction are analyzed. The nonlocality degree determines the intensity distribution of the dark solitons in the stationary states, enhances the intensity transfer between two vector solitons, and affects the propagation and interaction. The numerical results confirm the theoretical findings.  相似文献

We discuss the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation with variable coefficients in 21) graded-index waveguides with different distributed transverse diffractions and obtain exact bright and dark soliton solutions. Based on these solutions, we mainly investigate the dynamical behaviors of solitons in three different diffraction decreasing waveguides with the hyperbolic, Gaussian and Logarithmic profiles. Results indicate that for the same parameters, the amplitude of bright solitons in the Logarithmic profile and the amplitude of dark solitons in the Gaussian profile are biggest respectively, and the amplitude in the hyperbolic profile is smallest, while the width of solitons has the opposite case.  相似文献

By using semiclassical theory combined with multiple-scale method, we analytically study the linear absorption and the nonlinear dynamical properties in a lifetime broadened Λ-type three-level self-assembled quantum dots. It is found that this system can exhibit the transparency, and the width of the transparency window becomes wider with the increase of control light field. Interestingly, a weak probe light beam can form spatial weak-light dark solitons. When it propagates along the axial direction, the soliton will transform into a steady spatial weak-light ring dark soltion. In addition, the stability of two-dimensional spatial optical solitons is testified numerically.  相似文献

We investigate kink-dark complex solitons(KDCSs) in a three-component Bose–Einstein condensate(BEC) with repulsive interactions and pair-transition(PT) effects. Soliton profiles critically depend on the phase differences between dark solitons excitation elements. We report a type of kink-dark soliton profile which shows a droplet-bubble-droplet with a density dip, in sharp contrast to previously studied bubble-droplets. The interaction between two KDCSs is further investigated. It demonstrates some striking particle transition behaviours during their collision processes, while soliton profiles survive after the collision. Additionally, we exhibit the state transition dynamics between a kink soliton and a dark soliton. These results suggest that PT effects can induce more abundant complex solitons dynamics in multi-component BEC.  相似文献

The dynamics of modulated waves in a nonlinear bi-inductance transmission line with dissipative elements are examined. We show the existence of two frequency modes and carry out intensive investigations on the low frequency mode. Thanks to the multiple scales method, the behavior of these waves is investigated and the dissipative effects are analyzed. It appears that the dissipation coefficient increases with the carrier wave frequency. In the continuous approximation,we derive that the propagation of these waves is governed by the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation instead of the Korteweg-de-Vries equation as previously established.Asymptotic studies of the dynamics of plane waves in the line reveal the existence of three additional regions in the dispersion curve where the modulational phenomenon is observed. In the low frequency mode,we demonstrate that the network allows the propagation of dark and bright solitons.Numerical findings are in perfect agreement with the analytical predictions.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate dynamics of two dark solitons in a polariton condensate under nonresonant pumping, based on driven dissipative Gross–Pitaevskii equations coupled to the rate equation. The equation of motion of the relative center position of two-dark soliton is obtained analytically by using the Lagrangian approach. In particular, the analytical expression of the effective potential between two dark solitons is given. The resulting equation of motion captures how the open-dissipative...  相似文献

Photo-induced intramolecular electron transfer (PIET) and intramolecular vibrational relaxation (IVR) dynamics of the excited state of rhodamine 6G (Rh6G+) in DMSO are investigated by multiplex transient grating. Two major compo- nents are resolved in the dynamics of Rh6G+. The first component, with a lifetime τTPIET = 140 fs-260 fs, is attributed to PIET from the phenyl ring to the xanthene plane. The IVR process occurring in the range ZIVR = 3.3 ps-5.2 ps is much slower than the first component. The PIET and IVR processes occurring in the excited state of Rh6G+ are quantitatively determined, and a better understanding of the relationship between these processes is obtained.  相似文献

Manipulating nonlinear excitations, including solitons and vortices, is an essential topic in quantum many-body physics. A new progress in this direction is a protocol proposed in [Phys. Rev. Res. 2 043256(2020)] to produce dark solitons in a one-dimensional atomic Bose–Einstein condensate(BEC) by quenching inter-atomic interaction. Motivated by this work, we generalize the protocol to a two-dimensional BEC and investigate the generic scenario of its post-quench dynamics. For an isotropic disk t...  相似文献
