Polyarylether dendrons as macroinitiators for the "living"/controlled free radical copoly-merization of N-phenylmaleimide (PhMI) and styrene (St) have been demonstrated. The copoly-merization was carried out in bulk or anisole with CuBr/bipy catalyst at 100-130℃. It is found that the resulting copolymers possess predetermined molecular weights and narrower polydispersities (1.18 < Mw/Mn<1.32). The effects of reaction temperature and monomer feed on the copolymeri-zation kinetics were investigated in detail. By using the Fineman-Ross method, the apparent monomer reactivity ratios for the atom transfer radical copolymerization of PhMI and St were determined to be rphM1 = 0.0207, and rst = 0.0484, respectively.  相似文献

A facile, safe and economical reducing agent, sodium hypophosphite(Na H2PO2·H2O), has been successfully employed for ambient temperature living radical copolymerization of styrene(St) and methyl methacrylate(MMA). Such effective reducing agent significantly improved the reactivity of low reactive St monomers during the copolymerization, where the reactivity ratios of St and MMA were determined to be 0.50 and 0.36 by Finemann-Ross method. Thus the copolymerizations proceeded fast and showed typical living/controlled features, as evidenced by pseudo first-order kinetics of polymerization, linear increase in molecular weight versus monomer conversion, and low polydispersity index values. Effects of the concentration of reducing agent and the monomer feed ratio on the copolymerization were investigated in detail. Furthermore, gel permeation chromatography and 1H-NMR analyses as well as chain extension experiments confirmed the high chain-end functionality of the resultant copolymer.  相似文献

Phosphazene base,t-BuP2,was employed to catalyze the proton transfer polymerization(PTP)of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA),and PTP was further combined with ring-opening polymerization(ROP)to exploit a new type of hybrid copolymerization.The studies on homopolymerization showed that t-BuP2 was a particularly efficient catalyst for the polymerization of HEA at room temperature,giving an excellent monomer conversion.Throughout the polymerization,transesterification reactions were unavoidable,which increased the randomness in the structures of the resulting polymers.The studies on copolymerization showed that t-BuP2 could simultaneously catalyze the hybrid copolymerization via the combination of PTP and ROP at 25°C.During copolymerization,HEA not only provided hydroxyl groups to initiate the ROP ofε-caprolactone(CL)but also participated in the polymerization as a monomer for PTP.The copolymer composition was approximately equal to the feed ratio,demonstrating the possibility to adjust the polymeric structure by simply changing the monomer feed ratio.This copolymerization reaction provides a simple method for synthesizing degradable functional copolymers from commercially available materials.Hence,it is important not only in polymer chemistry but also in environmental and biomedical engineering.  相似文献

Submicron-sized P(St-NaSS) latexes were prepared via a semi-continuous emulsion copolymerization of styrene (St) and sodium styrene sulphonate(NaSS) in the presence of anionic surfactant,in which NaSS aqueous solution and St were separately dropwise charged into the polymerization system at the same time.The hydrodynamic diameter of the latex particles was measured by dynamic light scattering(DSL) method,and the NaSS unit content of the purified copolymer by water extraction was calculated based on the elementary analysis.Results showed that the copolymerization could be performed smoothly with the monomer conversion more than 96%in the absence of crosslinker,and PNaSS homopolymer could be removed from the latex product by water extraction for 28 h.The weight loss in the water extraction tended to decrease and the NaSS unit content of the purified copolymer tended to increase with the increase of monomer feeding time, and both of them increased with the increase of NaSS/St mole ratio in the charge.The introduction of divinyl benzene (DVB) could decrease the weight loss in the water extraction and increase the NaSS unit content of the purified copolymer. When 25/75 mole ratio of NaSS/St and 11 mol%DVB of total NaSS and St were used in the recipe,and the monomer feeding time was 3 h in copolymerization,the NaSS unit content of the purified copolymer reached 7.31 mol%.  相似文献

The diffusion and subsequent copolymerization of styrene(St)/butyl methacrylate(BMA) mixed monomers in i PP pellets to prepare copolymer nanoblends were investigated. The diffusion step was carried out at 90 ℃ for 2 h in water, and the copolymerization was initiated by the addition of BPO with the aid of a small amount of St. The diametrical distributions of both St and BMA units and their ratio St/BMA were investigated by micro FTIR. Both St and BMA can diffuse into the centres of i PP pellets. The diametrical distribution of St/BMA ratio is constant in all the copolymer blends. The copolymer composition depends on the comonomer feed ratio. The molecular weights of the copolymers were measured by GPC after extraction with tetrahydrofuran. The phase morphology of the copolymer blends was investigated by FESEM, showing the average particle sizes of less than 100 nm. DSC measurements show that the diffusion and subsequent copolymerization of St/BMA monomers only occur in the amorphous regions of i PP pellets.  相似文献

<正>A series of hydrophobically associating polyacrylamides modified by small amounts(3 mol%) of a self-associative cationic monomer 4-(2-(acryloyloxy) ethoxy) benzyl tri-ethyl ammonium bromide(AEBA) as hydrophobe were synthesized by radical copolymerization in aqueous solutions without external surfactants.The resulting copolymers containing a multiblock structure exhibited a high tendency for hydrophobic association and a high thickening capacity. Solution properties and aggregation structures were investigated by viscometry and fluorescence technique.The high viscosity enhancement was found as the polymer concentration beyond a critical value c~* and strongly depended on the copolymer microstructures.The number and length of hydrophobic microblocks within the copolymer backbones could be controlled by changing the AEBA concentration in copolymerization system.Addition of salt induced more hydrophobic association and viscosity enhancement.The synthesis method used was simple and environmentally friendly without any external surfactant contamination in comparison with the conventional micellar copolymerization.  相似文献

The starch/D,L-lactide graft copolymers were synthesized by reacting D,L-lactide with corn starch in N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMAM)in the presence of triethylamine(NEt3)and anhydrous lithium chloride.The effect of reaction time and the molar ratio of D,L-lactide to glucose structural unit of starch on monomer conversion(C%),graft(G%)and graft efficiency(GE%)were studied,The C%,G%and GE% could approach 37.3% 179.7%and 68.0%,respectively when the molar ratio of D,L-lactide to glucose structuralunit of starch is 10:1 and the graft copolymerization was carried out at 80-85℃ for 4hr under nitrogen atmosphere.The Fourier transforms infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy.differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)and X_ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy were used in order to characterize the graft copolymers.FTIR spectra show that absorption band at 1740cm^-1 confirmed the formation of ester bond,indicating the starch /D,L-lactide graft copolymers were produced,the DSC characteristic results show the melting temperature of the graft copolymer were elevated slightly as the molar ratio of D,L-lactide to glucose structural units of starch increased and the X-ray diffraction spectra show the synthesized graft copolymers were amorphous.The degradability of graft copolymer was tested with the aid of acid,alkali and microbe such as bacillus subtilis and staphylococcus aureus.The results of water rsistance show the graft copolymer produced can be used as a component of impermeable coating for cardboard.  相似文献

Three basic conditions for preparation of alternating copolymer with narrow molecular weight distribution were derived from the element kinetic equations of binary radical copolymerization. Using maleimide (MI) and atropie acid (ATA) as model monomer pairs and dioxane as the solvent the alternating copolymer with molecular weight distribution in the range of 1.09--1.20 was prepared successfully by charger transfer complex (CTC) mechanism in the presence of benzoyl peroxide at 85℃. The monomer reactivity ratioes r_1(MI)=0.05±0.01 and r_2(ATA)=0.03±0.02 were measured. The alternating eopolymerization was carried out through formation of a contact-type CTG and then alternating addition of MI and ATA monomers. The molecular weight of the copolymers is nearly independent of the feed ratio in a large range and the polymerization rate dropped with an increase in ATA in feed ratio.  相似文献

Monomer of 7-methacryloyloxy-4-methylcoumarin(MAOMC) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy. Copolymers of MAOMC with butoxyethylmethacrylate(BOEMA) at different feed compositions were prepared by free radical solution polymerization at(70 ± 1) °C in ethylmethylketone(EMK) using benzyl peroxide(BPO) as an initiator. The copolymers were characterized by FTIR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) of the copolymers showed moderate thermal stability and higher Tg values. Gel permeation chromatography(GPC) was used to find out the molecular weights of the different copolymers. Antibacterial activities of the copolymers were also investigated against the selected pathogenic bacteria's. The antibacterial activity of the copolymer increases as the MAOMC content increases in the copolymer. This shows that coumarin moiety plays a very important role in the antibacterial activity.  相似文献

<正>Acrylonitrile/N-[4-(aminosulfonyl)phenyl]acrylamide(AN/ASPAA) copolymers were synthesized and used as a host of lithium ion conducting electrolytes.The composition,molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of AN/ASPAA copolymers were determined,and the influence of copolymer composition on the glass temperature of AN/ASPAA copolymers and the ion conductivity of electrolytes were investigated.The molecular weights of AN/ASPAA copolymers were lower than those of AN and ASPAA homopolymers due to the cross-termination reaction.The glass temperatures of AN/ASPAA copolymers increased as the molar fraction of ASPAA units in copolymers increased.The lithium ion conductivities of the polymer electrolytes increased initially as the molar fraction of ASPAA units in copolymers increased,and a maximum conductivity was achieved when the molar fraction of ASPAA in the copolymer was 16.8%.  相似文献

Novel polycarbonates from 5-allyloxy-1, 3-dioxan-2-one (ATMC) with 5, 5-dimethyl- 1, 3-dioxan-2-one (DTC) were successfully synthesized for the first time using immobilized porcine pancreas lipase (IPPL) as catalyst. The resulting copolymers were characterized by IR, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR and GPC. The molecular weight (Mn) of the copolymer with molar feed ratio of 10:90 (ATMC:DTC) was 9300 and the polydispersity was 1.31, while the Mn increased to 14300 and polydispersity of 1.25 with the feed ratio of 50:50. Moreover, the composition of the copolymers agreed well with the monomer feed.  相似文献

The random copolymers of styrene and 2,5-bis[(4-methoxyphenyloxycarbonyl)styrene] (MPCS) with different copolymerization ratio were synthesized by conventional free radical polymerization. The copolymer having high molecular weight was experimentally elucidated using a combination of proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. The liquid crystalline behavior of the copolymer was studied using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffractometry and polarized optical microscopy. It was found that the liquid crystalline behavior was dependent on the content of styrene. Experimental results show that the copolymer could turn into a liquid crystalline phase at about 180℃ when the content of styrene was less than 20%. The mechanical properties of the copolymer were also studied. Preliminary results indicate that the tensile strength decreases while the tensile modulus increases as the content of MPCS is increased.  相似文献

<正>The copolymerization of 4-vinylbenzyl chloride(VBC) and vinyl acetate(VAC) was carried out in toluene at 75℃via radical polymerization using 2,2'-azo-bis-(isobutyronitrile)(AIBN) as an initiator.The random copolymers of poly(4-vinylbenzyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate)(P(VBC-co-VAC)) with number average molecular weight(M_n) from 2000 to 6900,relatively narrow molecular weight distribution(MWD,M_w/M_n ca.2.0) and with different copolymer composition of 4-vinylbenzyl chloride(VBC) from 17 mol%to 62 mol%could be obtained.The P(VBC-co-VAC) copolymers with an average number of 7 to 13 initiating sites of benzyl chloride per macromolecule could be used for the cationic polymerization of isobutylene(IB).The cationic polymerizations of IB were further conducted by using P(VBC-co-VAC) copolymers as macroinitiators in conjunction with TiCl_4 at -40℃in CH_2Cl_2.The effects of VBC/TiCl_4(molar ratio) on monomer conversion,M_n and MWD of the resultant copolymers were investigated under 3 sets of conditions.It is found that P(VBC-co-VAC)-g-PIB copolymers with relatively narrow MWD(M_w/M_n ca.2.0) and with terminal tert-chlorine functional groups in branched PIB chains could be successfully synthesized when VBC/TiCl_4(molar ratio) was set in the range from 0.10 to 1.12.The unimodal GPC curve of the P(VBC-co-VAC)-g-PIB copolymers by RI detector was almost in harmony with the GPC curve by UV detector.The TEM image of the P(VBC-co-VAC)-g-PIB copolymer stained by RuO indicated that the copolymer formed a two-phase morphology with P(VBC-co-VAC)-rich domains of 20-100 nm in size tethered by PIB branch segments.  相似文献

Acryloyl terminated Poly (ethyleneoxide)macromonomers (PEO-A) with different PEO chain lengths have been prepared by deactivation of PEO alkoxide with acryloyl chloride. A new kind of amphiphilic polystyrene-g-poly (ethylene oxide)graft copolymer containing both microphase separated and PEO side chain structures has been synthesized from radical copolymerization of PEO-A macromonomer with styrene. After careful purification by a newly-developed method called "selective dissolution', the well-defined structure of the purified copolymers was confirmed by IR, ~1H-NMR and GPC. Various experimental parameters controlling the copolymerization were studied in detail. The results indicated that the feed ratio of styrene to macromonomer(S/M) was the most important determining factor for the composition of the copolymers. A detailed "comb- model" was proposed to describe the molecular structure of the graft copolymers. Finally, this amphiphilic graft copolymers may readily form microphase separated structures as clearly indicated by transmission electron microscopy.  相似文献

The copolymerization of styrene (St) and acrylonitrile (AN) complexed with CuCl_2 monomer by a free radicalmechanism was performed using benzoyl peroxide as an initiator at 65℃ under N_2 atmosphere for 150 min. The rate ofpolymerization (R_p) was found to increase linearly with the concentration (in mol/L) of CuCl_2, AN and St through scalingrelations. The activation energy of the copolymerization process in the presence and absence of CuCl_2 was found to be46.5 kJ/mol and 102 kJ/mol, respectively. The viscosity average molecular weigh of the copolymer and the k_p~2/k_t ratio weredctermired to further assess the accelerating effect of CuCl_2 on the copolymerization process. <正>Poly(benzanthrone-co-thiophene),a new conducting copolymer,was successfully prepared by direct anodic oxidation of benzanthrone and thiophene(Th) in a binary solvent system containing boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) and acetonitrile(ACN).The as-formed copolymer film electrodeposited with monomer feed ratio of benzanthrone/Th = 1:1 at the applied potential of 1.3 V versus Ag/AgCl exhibited the advantages of both polybenzanthrone and polythiophene,such as active electrochemical behavior,excellent thermal stability,relatively high electrical conductivity and mechanical properties.UV-Vis spectroscopy,~1H-NMR and SEM were used to characterize and investigate the structures and morphologies of the copolymers.Fluorescence spectroscopy studies revealed that the obtained copolymer films show strong emission at about 525 nm.Moreover,the emitting properties of the copolymers could be tuned by changing some parameters during the electropolymerization process,such as monomer feed ratio.  相似文献

A series of copolymers comprising butylmethacrylate, styrene, butylacrylate, hydroxypropyl acrylate and perfluoroalkyl methacrylate were synthesized by the free radical polymerization using BPO as an initiator. The surface property of the copolymer films was subsequently characterized. The contact angle measurements and energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX) show that the length and content of perfluoroalkyl side chains in the copolymers are crucial for the preparation of the film with low surface energy. At a given content of fluorinated monomers in the copolymers, the longer the perfluoroalkyl side chain, the larger the water contact angle of the copolymer films will be. On the other hand, the higher the content of fluorinated monomers, the lower the surface energy is. The water contact angle increases with the increase of the fluorinated monomer content and reaches a plateau at 3 wt% of fluorinated monomer content.  相似文献

The controlled free radical polymerization of styrene and isoprene initiated with benzoyl peroxide (BPO) in the presence of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidine-N-oxyl (TEMPO) at 125 ℃ were performed. The obtained polyisoprene and polystyrene homopolymers served as macroinitiators for block copolymerization of isoprene and styrene to synthesize poly(styrene-b-isoprene) and poly(isoprene-b-styrene) diblock copolymers. Diblock copolymers with well-defined structures as well as controlled and narrow molecular weight distribution wereobtained from the lower-mass polystyrene and polyisoprene homopolymers. These copolymers were found to be active as macroinitiators in the synthesis of the poly(styrene-b-isoprene-b-styrene) and poly(isoprene-b-styrene-b-isoprene) triblock copolymers. 1H-NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) were used for the investigation of polymer strucmre, molecular weight and polydispersity (PD).  相似文献
