Towers of derivation for Lie rings and some results on complete Lie rings

The well-known tower theorem of groups (resp. Lie algebras) shows that the tower of automorphism groups (resp. derivation algebras) of a finite group (resp. a finite dimensional Lie algebra) with trivial center terminates after finitely many steps. We generalize these results for Lie rings, and present some necessary and sufficient conditions for Lie rings to be complete.

SOME RESULTS OF MODULAR LIE SUPERALGEBRAS

In the present article, the authors give some properties on subinvariant subalgebras of modular Lie superalgebras and obtain the derivation tower theorem of modular Lie superalgebras, which is analogous to the automorphism tower theorem of finite groups. Moreover, they announce and prove some results of modular complete Lie superalgebras.     

COMPLETE LIE ALGEBRAS WITH l-STEP NILPOTENT RADICALS

The authors first give a necessary and sufficient condition for some solvable Lie algebras with l-step nilpotent radicals to be complete, and then construct a new class of infinite dimensional complete Lie algebras by using the modules of simple Lie algebras. The quotient algebras of this new constructed Lie algebras are non-solvable complete Lie algebras with l-step nilpotent radicals.

ON THE PRIMARY DECOMPOSITION THEOREM OF MODULAR LIE SUPERALGEBRAS

This gives some identities of associative Lie superalgebras and some properties of modular Lie superalgebras. Furthermore, the primary decomposition theorem of modular Lie superalgebras is shown. It is well known that the primary decomposition theorem of modular Lie algebras has played an important role in the classification of the finite-dimensional simple modular Lie algebras (see [5, 6]). Analogously, the primary decomposition theorem of modular Lie superalgebras may play an important role in the open classification of the finite dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebras.

ON THE STRUCTURE OF COHOMOLOGY RINGS OF p-NILPOTENT LIE ALGEBRAS

In this paper the authors investigate the structure of the restricted Lie algebra cohomology of p-nilpotent Lie algebras with trivial p-power operation. Our study is facilitated by a spectral sequence whose E ₂-term is the tensor product of the symmetric algebra on the dual of the Lie algebra with the ordinary Lie algebra cohomology and converges to the restricted cohomology ring. In many cases this spectral sequence collapses, and thus, the restricted Lie algebra cohomology is Cohen–Macaulay. A stronger result involves the collapsing of the spectral sequence and the cohomology ring identifying as a ring with the E ₂-term. We present criteria for the collapsing of this spectral sequence and provide some examples where the ring isomorphism fails. Furthermore, we show that there are instances when the spectral sequence does not collapse and yields cohomology rings which are not Cohen-Macaulay.

DEGENERATIONS OF 7-DIMENSIONAL NILPOTENT LIE ALGEBRAS

We study the varieties of Lie algebra laws and their subvarieties of nilpotent Lie algebra laws. We classify all degenerations of (almost all) five-step and six-step nilpotent seven-dimensional complex Lie algebras. One of the main tools is the use of trivial and adjoint cohomology of these algebras. In addition, we give some new results on the varieties of complex Lie algebra laws in low dimension.

Graded Lie algebras with few nontrivial components

We prove that if a (?/n?)-graded Lie algebra L = ? _i=0 ^n?1 L _i has d nontrivial components L _i and the null component L ₀ has finite dimension m, then L has a homogeneous solvable ideal of derived length bounded by a function of d and of codimension bounded by a function of m and d. An analogous result holds also for the (?/n?)-graded Lie rings L = ? _i=0 ^n?1 with few nontrivial components L _i if the null component L ₀ has finite order m. These results generalize Kreknin’s theorem on the solvability of the (?/n?)-graded Lie rings L = ? _i=0 ^n?1 L _i with trivial component L ₀ and Shalev’s theorem on the solvability of such Lie rings with few nontrivial components L _i . The proof is based on the method of generalized centralizers which was created by E. I. Khukhro for Lie rings and nilpotent groups with almost regular automorphisms of prime order [1], as well as on the technique developed in the work of N. Yu. Makarenko and E. I. Khukhro on the almost solvability of Lie algebras with an almost regular automorphism of finite order [2].
