光纤中受激拉曼散射连续谱研究   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
我们在实验中研究了自相位调制效应和受激四光子混频效应对受激拉曼散射光谱的影响。在较强的泵浦光和适当的入射条件下,得到九阶受激拉曼散射的级联 Stokes 连续平滑谱带,带宽3500cm~(-1),其强度可与530nm 泵浦光强相比拟。  相似文献

Light continua extending from the i.r. to the u.v. are generated with picosecond laser pulses in liquids and solids. It is demonstrated that the light spectra in water are produced by stimulated parametric fourphoton interactions, which are resonantly enhanced by single and difference frequency resonances of the non-linear susceptibility (3). A theory of the various parametric four-photon interaction processes is developed and the resonant structure of (3) is discussed. The experimental results are compared with theoretical calculations. The generation of light continua by other nonlinear optical processes is briefly discussed.  相似文献

We present results on supercontinuum generation extended up to 230 nm in air during the propagation of a powerful femtosecond laser pulse. The broad supercontinuum generated in air is contributed by self-phase modulation and self-steepening of the fundamental laser pulse, the third-harmonic pulse and their interaction. In particular, the strong interaction between the fundamental and the third-harmonic pulses leads to broad and efficient continuum generation of the third-harmonic pulse itself. The spectrum of the third-harmonic generated in air extends over several tens of nm and overlaps with the shorter wavelength extent of the fundamental continuum. Mutlifrequency parametric Raman generation was carried out in a KGd(WO(4))(2) crystal by use of a dual-wavelength Ti:sapphire laser system. It was found that with femtosecond pump pulses the efficiency of Raman generation is low because of the onset of self-phase modulation. The mechanism for suppression of stimulated Raman scattering by self-phase modulation is discussed. Employing 2-ps-long chirped pulses generated four Stokes and one anti-Stokes component.  相似文献

A filamenting femtosecond laser pulse self-stabilizes the intensity fluctuation inside the filament core due to intensity clamping and generates an excellent spatial beam quality inside the core due to self-spatial filtering. The high quality of the core can be sampled by nonlinear processes. The processes of parametric amplification and oscillation in a medium with cubic polarization are investigated theoretically taking into consideration the depletion of the pump wave. We suppose that phase-matching is realized exactly (a possible nonlinear detuning of the exact phase-matching should be compensated by a suitable subsequent adjustment of the frequencies). A consequence of linear losses is the appearance of a threshold for the parametric amplification. There exist a maximum length, a minimum length and an optimum length of the nonlinear medium for the process of parametric amplification. The threshold intensity, the optimum length of the nonlinear medium and the optimum reflection coefficient for outcoupling are determined for two arrangements of the double resonant parametric four-photon oscillator (ring resonator, FABRY -PEROT resonator). It is shown that for the above mentioned arrangements of the single resonant and the double resonant four-photon oscillator the efficiency is a monotonous function of the threshold excess. On the contrary in case of the three-photon oscillator there exists an optimum value of the threshold excess.  相似文献

The processes of parametric amplification and oscillation in a medium with cubic polarization is investigated in parametric approximation. For the case of amplification the threshold power of the pump wave is calculated. The influence of a finite phase mismatching and of the initial phases on the amplification process is discussed. For larger values of mismatching a periodical change between amplification and depletion may appear. For the cases of a single resonant oscillator (for the signal wave only), a double resonant oscillator (for both signal and idler wave) and a double resonant oscillator with the pump wave reflected at the second mirror the threshold power of the pump wave and the rise time are calculated. Characteristic differences between four-photon and three-photon parametric oscillators are discussed. A numerical estimation of the threshold power for some media with nonlinear susceptibilities known from literature leads to the conclusion that the realization of a four-photon parametric oscillator should be possible. In the appendix we discuss the influence of diffraction, focussing, birefrigence, nonstationarity and depletion of the pump wave on the studied process as well as the conditions under which these effects can be neglected.  相似文献

Excitation of optical breakdown and four-photon parametric processes in water in a pump field at a wavelength of 1.064 μm with pulse duration of 20 ps was experimentally studied. It was shown that degassing and helium washing of a water sample result in optical breakdown suppression; in this case, the processes of the four-photon parametric interaction are excited most efficiently. This effect is explained by the fact that pump self-focusing in water degassed and washed by helium is regular under given experimental conditions.  相似文献

用实验和数值模拟两种方法研究了高非线性光子晶体光纤中飞秒激光脉冲的传输特性和超连续谱的产生机理,给出了抽运脉冲在三种不同中心波长情况下输出光谱展宽并形成超连续谱的实际测量及理论模拟结果.研究表明:在零色散波长抽运时,光谱展宽以自相位调制为主,同时三阶色散的影响明显,传输脉冲在时域内出现振荡次峰.而在反常色散区抽运时,光谱展宽的初期以自相位调制为主,随后根据抽运功率的不同孤子自频移、高阶光孤子的裂变和四波混频效应会逐渐增强,进而成为光谱展宽的主要原因.与此相应,在时域中能明显看到孤子的形成和红移,飞秒传输脉 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 高非线性光子晶体光纤 飞秒脉冲激光 超连续谱  相似文献

本文首次报道了氩离子激光在溶胶CdS半导体毫微晶中产生的自聚焦、热自散焦及自位相调制,实验测得此种材料具有很大的克尔(Kerr)非线性系数n_2,比CS_2大10~5倍。并且,文中还分析了这种具有弱吸收的半导体溶胶毫微晶的非线性自位相调制机理及其与热自位相调制的差别。  相似文献

强激光经5CB液晶传播时会产生非线性自相位调制现象,利用532 nm和1 064 nmCW激光研究了强激光条件下5CB液晶中的激光诱导衍射环现象,并对强激光在5CB液晶中产生自相位调制的现象和机理进行了讨论.当532 nm激光和1 064 nm激光功率密度分别大于10 kW/cm2和300 W/cm2时,接收白屏上有较明显的衍射环现象|当激光分别持续作用数十毫秒和数百毫秒量级时间时,接收屏上的衍射环现象消失.分别利用基尔霍夫衍射积分公式的菲涅耳近似和夫朗和费近似形式对5CB中激光自相位调制和激光诱导衍射环进行了数值模拟,数值结果与实验结果符合的较好.基于热传导理论定性分析了5CB液晶在不同波长和入射条件下的三阶非线性系数.结果表明:在强激光入射条件下,热效应是自相位调制的主要原因,这种三阶非线性系数除了与液晶的吸收系数和作用时间相关,还与激光作用面积甚至激光诱导指向矢转动过程相关.  相似文献

在考虑增益、损耗、群速度色散、自相位调制、快速可饱和吸收体等各种参数同时作用情况下,分析了非线性偏振旋转效应自启动锁模机理,研究了腔体参数与锁模脉冲之间的关系,并给出飞秒被动锁模环形腔掺Er3+光纤激光器实验原理。实验采用性能稳定的980nm半导体激光器作为抽运源,高掺杂短长度掺Er3+光纤作为增益介质,利用非线性偏振旋转锁模技术,得到了稳定的飞秒自起振锁模光脉冲。抽运功率为23mW时,激光器输出锁模脉冲中心波长1552nm,3dB带宽为7.6nm,重复频率14.0MHz,平均输出功率0.43mW,自起振锁模泵浦阈值功率11.5mW,并观测到了稳定的高阶锁模脉冲输出。该激光器与报道过的相同结构光纤激光器相比,自起振泵浦阈值低、脉冲能量高、稳定性好,且频谱边带幅度小。  相似文献

It has been shown that the femtosecond laser polarization modulation is a very simple and well-established method to control the multi-photon absorption process by the light–matter interaction. Previous studies mainly focused on the multiphoton absorption control in the weak field. In this paper, we further explore the polarization control behavior of multiphoton absorption process in the intermediate femtosecond laser field. In the weak femtosecond laser field, the secondorder perturbation theory can well describe the non-resonant two-photon absorption process. However, the higher order nonlinear effect(e.g., four-photon absorption) can occur in the intermediate femtosecond laser field, and thus it is necessary to establish new theoretical model to describe the multi-photon absorption process, which includes the two-photon and four-photon transitions. Here, we construct a fourth-order perturbation theory to study the polarization control behavior of this multi-photon absorption under the intermediate femtosecond laser field excitation, and our theoretical results show that the two-photon and four-photon excitation pathways can induce a coherent interference, while the coherent interference is constructive or destructive that depends on the femtosecond laser center frequency. Moreover, the two-photon and fourphoton transitions have the different polarization control efficiency, and the four-photon absorption can obtain the higher polarization control efficiency. Thus, the polarization control efficiency of the whole excitation process can be increased or decreased by properly designing the femtosecond laser field intensity and laser center frequency. These studies can provide a clear physical picture for understanding and controlling the multi-photon absorption process in the intermediate femtosecond laser field, and also can provide a theoretical guidance for the future experimental realization.  相似文献

The two-photon flourescence from a whole pulse train is measured photoelectrically for a variety of laser conditions. A compound mode-locking solution containing DDI and DCI is found to reduce pulse lengths. An etalon which cancels gain-narrowing also has this effect. Intensity-dependent variations are found in the two-photon fluorescence profile which suggest a threshold for self-phase modulation.  相似文献

高集成、高可靠性宽调谐飞秒激光源在超快光谱学、量子光学及生物成像等研究与应用领域具有重要价值.如在生物多光子显微成像中,具有适中能量的宽调谐飞秒激光源不仅可满足多种生物组织荧光激发所需的峰值功率与激发波长,而且也可以显著提升非线性荧光产生效率、成像分辨率以及增大成像穿透深度.采用自主研发的高可靠性全保偏光纤飞秒激光器作为抽运源,基于低色散光纤中高峰值功率飞秒激光脉冲非线性传输引起的光谱加宽机制,本文开展了多波长全光纤飞秒激光产生技术研究.通过采用中心波长在980, 1000,1050, 1070与1100 nm的带通滤波片选择性地对单模光纤输出光谱中最左边与最右边光谱旁瓣进行滤波,在上述中心波长处分别可获得203, 195, 196, 187与194 fs的激光输出.本文提出的基于全光纤飞秒激光脉冲在单模光纤中非线性传输引起的光谱加宽机制与特定光谱选择技术的实验方案为高集成、高可靠性宽调谐飞秒激光源的实现提供了新的研究途径.  相似文献

The nonlinear effects that limit the performance of the multi-frequency probe(MFP)based coherent optical time domain reflectometry(C-OTDR)are investigated.Based on theoretical analysis and experimental results,compared with conventional C-OTDR,when the probe pulse has power gradient within the pulse width,self-phase modulation(SPM)and cross-phase modulation(XPM)are strengthened in the new C-OTDR scheme.The generation of four-wave mixing(FWM)is dependent on SPM and XPM,and with modulation frequency of phase modulator higher than 40 MHz,the stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) threshold can be enhanced by more than 5 dB,which benefits the maximum dynamic range of the MFP C-OTDR.  相似文献

Intrachannel pulse interactions are the dominating nonlinear effects in modern transmission systems with high modulation speeds. Scaled symmetries have proved to be effective in suppressing amplitude and timing jitter of mark pulses due to nonlinearity but not for ghost-pulse generation into the empty slots. A method of using midspan self-phase modulation to reverse the generation of ghost pulses due to intrachannel four-wave mixing is proposed. Computer simulations demonstrate significant improvement of signal quality by a combination of scaled symmetries and midspan self-phase modulation.  相似文献

提出一种制备Fock态的新方案研究在包含有自相位调制的Kerr介质中两束光的相互作用,信号光场和探测光场初始处于相干态,经由非线性相互作用后演化成为纠缠态.若对探测光场的正交位相分量实行第一类量子测量,信号光场的光子数分布会受到调制.重复上述过程,发现信号光场最终演化成为一个纯的Fock态.这种制备Fock态的原理是基于互相位调制,而自相位调制则起着阻碍Fock态形成的作用.  相似文献

We have measured the temporal shortening of an ultraintense laser pulse interacting with an underdense plasma. When interacting with strongly nonlinear plasma waves, the laser pulse is shortened from 38 +/- 2 fs to the 10-14 fs level, with a 20% energy efficiency. The laser ponderomotive force excites a wakefield, which, along with relativistic self-phase modulation, broadens the laser spectrum and subsequently compresses the pulse. This mechanism is confirmed by 3D particle in cell simulations.  相似文献
