The effect of output coupler reflectivity (or output coupling ratio) on the performance of a linear cavity Brillouin/erbium
fiber laser (BEFL) is demonstrated. The operating wavelength, output laser power and number of channels vary with changes
in the coupling ratio in the linear cavity system. The optimum BEFL operation is obtained with an output coupling of 40%,
i.e., 60% of the laser power is allowed to oscillate in the cavity. A stable laser comb consisting of up to 40 channels with
line spacings of approximately 0.09 nm are obtained at the Brillouin pump and 980 nm pump with powers of 2.5 mW and 100 mW,
respectively. The linear cavity BEFL has the potential to be used in inexpensive wavelength division multiplexing system.

The performance of a novel dual dye laser system synchronously pumped by the frequency doubled output of a mode-locked CW-YAG laser is evaluated in relation to pulsewidth, pulse substructure, pulse spectral width and timing jitter. The behavior of the system is adequately described by a theoretical model which includes the time dependent gain and losses due to frequency bandwidth, cavity length mismatch and output coupler. The jitter is significantly reduced from that obtained with CW gas laser pumping as a result of the shorter pump pulse (50 ns instead of ≈100 ps). A routine operating condition uses 2-plate birefringen filters, 0.8 W pump power at 532 nm, to yield two 2.0 ps pulses having a cross correlation width of 3.8 ps, and 30 mW average power from each laser. 相似文献

We report a low-threshold continuous-wave Tm:YAG laser that can be excited near 785?nm with low-cost, single-mode AlGaAs laser diodes. Low-threshold operation was achieved using a tightly focused, astigmatically compensated x-cavity containing a 2-mm-thick Tm:YAG crystal with 5?% Tm3+ concentration. Two linearly polarized single-mode diodes operating at 785.8?nm were polarization coupled to end pump the resonator. With a 6?% output coupler, as high as 32?mW of output power could be obtained at 2016?nm with 184?mW of incident pump power. The output could be further tuned in the 1935?C2035?nm range. Slope efficiency measurements indicated that cross-relaxation was very effective at this doping level. With a 2?% output coupler, lasing could be obtained with as low as 32.3?mW of pump power. In the limit of vanishing output coupling, the incident threshold pump power could be reduced to as low as 25?mW. To our knowledge, this is among the lowest lasing thresholds reported to date for continuous-wave, room-temperature thulium lasers. 相似文献

Efficient and stable continuous-wave (CW) laser operation at 1053 nm in a Nd-doped phosphate single-mode fiber (Nd:PSMF) has been demonstrated experimentally. The fiber laser consisted of a 21 cm Nd:PSMF placed in a F-P cavity formed by high reflector butt-coupled to coupling end of the fiber and Fresnel reflection of the other end facet. An output power of 1.42 W and a slope efficiency of 34.1% (18.4%) with respect to absorbed pump power (incident pump power) were obtained with 808 nm diode pumping. An increment as much as 9.7 and 15.0% in slope efficiency of the input coupling efficiency and the output power, respectively, were obtained by using a local-cooling design provided by watered sealing the coupling point. The repeatable results indicate that the design, featuring fluid sealing the coupling point of the fiber laser, which was capable of offering an effective alleviation of thermal effects and an elevation of the quality of the laser cavity, could be expected to be a convenient and effective scheme to improve the performance characteristics of the non-silica fiber lasers and the high power fiber lasers, generally in free-space coupling configuration. 相似文献

We describe a widely tunable, continuous-wave, room temperature Cr4+:YAG laser with direct pumping by two high brightness 4 W InGaAs laser diodes. In a tunable configuration, the output wavelength covered a span of 197 nm (1356–1553 nm) and provided a maximum power of 195 mW. A maximum non-tunable output power of 260 mW was obtained with a 0.6% transmission output coupler (OC) and 6.6 W of incident pump power. Passively Q-switched laser oscillation at 1060 nm from an unprocessed Nd:LaB3O6 cleavage microchip with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber has been demonstrated. The influence of absorbed pump power, output coupler transmission and cavity length on the output pulse characteristics has been investigated. For a plano-concave cavity with a cavity length of 28 mm, pulse with 100 mW average output power, 4.0 μJ energy, 17 ns duration, 25 kHz repetition rate, and 0.24 kW, peak power was obtained at the absorbed pump power of 1.42 W and output coupler transmission of 3.5%. For a plano-plano cavity with a cavity length of 5 mm, pulse with 85 mW average output power, 2.1 μJ energy, 2.3 ns duration, 40 kHz repetition rate, and 0.89 kW, peak power was obtained at the absorbed pump power of 1.42 W and output coupler transmission of 5.6%. Because a chopper with a 5% duty cycle was employed in the experiments to reduce the influence of pump-induced thermal loading, the above average output powers were obtained at the 5% duty cycle and extrapolated to 100%.PACS 42.55.Rz; 42.60.Gd; 42.70.Hj 相似文献

分别使用976 nm半导体激光器和1040 nm光纤激光器作为泵浦源,实现了1137 nm长波光纤激光器的出光,输出功率均超过百mW。激光器采用相同的线性腔结构,高反光栅和低反光栅的反射率分别为99.6%和39.7%,增益介质是一段8 m长的掺镱光纤,纤芯直径5 m。当976 nm半导体泵浦功率为912 mW时,1137 nm激光输出功率为182 mW,对应的斜率效率为28.5%;当1040 nm激光功率为1.59 W时,输出的1137 nm激光功率为278 mW,斜率效率约为25%。在此基础上对两种泵浦方式进行了对比分析。 相似文献

在半导体激光器高功率抽运的镱、钠共掺氟化钙(Yb, Na:CaF2)激光器中, 通过对晶体的负热透镜效应的数值模拟,进行激光器腔型的调节和优化,使得该激光器在采用2%的耦合输出镜和吸收抽运功率为7.8 W的条件下,获得了脉冲宽度为190 fs、平均输出功率为503 mW、中心波长为1034 nm、重复频率为82.4 MHz的连续锁模脉冲序列. 如果计算晶体表面反射等其他形式的泄漏输出,激光器的总平均输出功率为905 mW.

介绍了一种全正色散宽光谱被动锁模掺镱光纤激光器,利用非线性偏振旋转技术实现全正色散掺镱光纤激光器的被动锁模.当泵浦功率输出为500mW时,激光脉冲输出功率大于139mW,重复频率约为28.1MHz,脉冲宽度为3.8ps.为了进一步研究全正色散光纤激光器的宽光谱输出特性,在腔内熔接50m单模光纤,同时去除双折射滤波片,在泵浦功率为500mW时,观察到稳定锁模单脉冲耗散孤子,光谱范围为1 005~1 140nm,输出激光脉冲最大平均功率为90mW,重复频率为3.58MHz,脉冲宽度为519ps. 相似文献

研究了L-波段超荧光在光纤中的产生机理,设计了一种带光纤圈反射器的双级双程前向输出L-波段光源结构,通过对两级采用掺铒浓度不同的光纤并优化其长度及两级泵浦光功率,实验中获得了功率高达19.86mW(12.98dBm)、中心波长为1577.421nm的L-波段(1555-1620nm)超荧光光源。实现了低浓度掺铒光纤起诱导光及改善光谱的作用,高浓度光纤为主要发光源,采用光纤圈反射器提高了泵浦光的利用效率、光源的平坦度及稳定性。同时分析了结构中各个参量对光源各方面性能的影响,对光源的设计具有指导意义。 相似文献

以光纤光栅为谐振腔搭建了波长为1020 nm的光纤激光器,并通过两级级联放大获得了590 mW的最大输出功率. 利用获得的波长为1020 nm的激光进行了波长为1064 nm种子光同带抽运放大,实验研究了不同增益光纤长度时放大器的输出功率和转换效率. 当增益光纤长度为8.5 m时,放大器最大输出功率为385 mW,斜率效率为81%. 进行了波长为976 nm的半导体激光器直接抽运波长为1064 nm种子光的实验. 在增益光纤长度最优时,其斜率效率为56.4%. 实验结果表明,同带抽运方式比传统抽运方式具有更高的转换效率. 研究结果可为波长为1020 nm的激光高功率放大和波长为1064 nm的光纤激光高功率同带抽运放大提供一定的参考.

采用角度磨抛的方式, 在纤芯/包层为20/400 μm双包层掺Yb光纤上制作了侧面抽运耦合器. 该耦合器对975 nm的半导体二极管抽运光的耦合效率最高可达97%, 对1080 nm信号光的泄漏比小于2%. 分析了侧面抽运耦合器的性能以及多个侧面抽运耦合器的级联分布对抽运耦合效率的影响; 同时, 在前向抽运和双向抽运方式下, 分析了级联耦合器的分布及信号光泄漏比对激光器整体效率的影响, 并进行了数值模拟. 采用自行研制的侧面抽运耦合器, 搭建了侧面耦合分布式抽运、掺Yb双包层全光纤主振荡功率放大器, 获得了波长为1080 nm、功率为303 W 的基模激光输出. 进一步增加抽运点个数, 提高抽运功率, 可获得更高的输出功率. 相似文献

In this paper, a simple design of linear cavity dual-wavelength fiber laser (DWFL) is proposed. Operating in the C-band region
stretching from 1538.3 nm to 1548.6 nm, an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is used to generate the dual-wavelengths output
together with a broadband fiber Bragg grating as a back reflector and an optical circulator with a 10% output coupling ratio
which acts as a front mirror. The measured average output power of the DWFL is about −5.66 dBm and with a side mode suppression
ratio (SMSR) of 53.1 dB. The spacing between the two output wavelengths can be varied from 0.8 nm to 10.3 nm with a stable

橘黄色波段固体激光器在基于荧光探测的生物医学诊断和显示等众多方面有着广泛的实际应用. 报道了利用532 nm的Nd∶YAG倍频激光抽运外置喇曼腔内的硝酸钡晶体,获得高效率的599 nm橘黄色喇曼激光的实验结果.对外置喇曼腔实验装置和运转参量进行了优化,喇曼振荡腔由对二阶斯托克斯光有最优化反射率的腔镜构成,对实验中所得到的二阶斯托克斯喇曼激光脉宽压缩及出现双尖峰的现象进行了分析.当抽运光功率达到4.1 W时,获得二阶斯托克斯喇曼激光功率为710 mW,输出光中心波长为599.38 nm,半峰全宽(FWHM)为1.1 nm,激光器最大光光转换效率为17.5%,斜率效率为24.8%. 相似文献
