We study the traffic states and jams occurring in traffic flow on a two-lane toll highway with electronic and manual (traditional) tollgates. The electronic and manual collection vehicles sort themselves into their respective lanes at low density, while they mix at each tollgate at high density. We derive the fundamental diagrams (flow-density diagrams) for the electronic and manual collection vehicles. The traffic states change with increasing density and varying the ratio. Dynamical phase transitions occur. It is shown that the fundamental diagrams for the two tollgates depend greatly on the density and fraction of both vehicles.  相似文献

Based on the cellular automaton traffic flow model and the concept of public transport priority, a two-lane traffic model with an intermittent bus lane is proposed and the properties of urban traffic flow are studied. The cases of traffic with a dedicated bus lane (DBL), an intermittent bus lane (IBL) and an ordinary two-lane traffic are simulated, and comparisons in the form of the fundamental diagrams and the velocity-density profiles are made between them. It is shown that the DBL has the advantage of freeing buses from traffic interference and also has the disadvantage of disrupting traffic, the IBL is more efficient in improving the bus flow than ordinary two-lane traffic and maintaining the car flow at a higher level at the same time than the DBL, while the ordinary two-lane traffic suppresses public transportation and is not advantageous in easing urban traffic congestion. Also it is indicated that the DBL is only appropriate for low traffic flow in a two-lane traffic system, and this limitation can be partly overcome by opening the bus lane to general traffic intermittently when the bus lane is not in use by buses.  相似文献

Based on the property of heterogeneous traffic flow, we in this Letter present a new car-following model. Applying the relationship between the micro and macro variables, a new dynamic model for heterogeneous traffic flow is obtained. The fundamental diagram and the jam density of the heterogeneous traffic flow consisting of bus and car are studied under three different conditions: (1) without any restrictions, (2) under the action of the traffic control policy that restrains some private cars and (3) using bus to replace the private cars restrained by the traffic control policy. The numerical results show that our model can describe some qualitative properties of the heterogeneous traffic flow consisting of bus and car, which verifies that our model is reasonable.  相似文献

We study the dynamical behavior of counter traffic flow through a sequence of signals (traffic lights) controlled by a phase shift. There are two lanes for the counter traffic flow: the first lane is for east-bound vehicles and the second lane is for west-bound vehicles. The green-wave strategy is studied in the counter traffic flow where the phase shift of signals in the second lane has opposite sign to that in the first lane. A nonlinear dynamic model of the vehicular motion is presented by nonlinear maps at a low density. There is a distinct difference between the traffic flow in the first lane and that in the second lane. The counter traffic flow exhibits very complex behavior on varying the cycle time, the phase difference, and the split. Also, the fundamental diagram is derived by the use of the cellular automaton (CA) model. The dependence of east-bound and west-bound vehicles on cycle time, phase difference, and density is clarified.  相似文献

利用双车道元胞自动机模型,研究公交车停靠对道路混合交通流的影响.针对港湾式和非港湾式两种不同公交车站设置,在开放边界下模拟了公交车停靠所产生的交通瓶颈问题,给出了车辆入流概率-公交车比例相平面上的相图,区分了自由流相和拥挤相,研究了相图各区中公交车站附近的平均密度和速度分布图,比较了两种公交车站情况下的道路交通流的动力学特征.研究发现,当公交车比例较小时,与非港湾式车站相比,港湾式车站可以显著改善车站处的交通状况. 关键词: 元胞自动机 混合交通流 交通瓶颈 公交车站  相似文献

We study the fundamental diagram for traffic flow of vehicular mixture on a multi-lane highway. We present the car-following model of multi-lane traffic in which slow and fast vehicles flow with changing lanes. We investigate the traffic states of the vehicular mixture under the periodic boundary. Two values of the current appear at a density and two current curves are obtained. Vehicles move with changing lanes in the traffic state of high current, while vehicles move without changing lanes in the traffic state of low current. They depend on the density, the fraction of slow vehicles, and the initial condition. In the high-current curve, the jamming transition between the free flow and the jammed state occurs at a low density. The fundamental diagrams (current-density diagrams) are shown for the single-lane, two-lane, three-lane, and four-lane traffics.  相似文献

In this paper, a new lattice hydrodynamic traffic flow model is proposed by considering the driver’s anticipation effect in sensing relative flux (DAESRF) for two-lane system. The effect of anticipation parameter on the stability of traffic flow is examined through linear stability analysis and shown that the anticipation term can significantly enlarge the stability region on the phase diagram. To describe the phase transition of traffic flow, mKdV equation near the critical point is derived through nonlinear analysis. The theoretical findings have been verified using numerical simulation which confirms that traffic jam can be suppressed efficiently by considering the anticipation effect in the new lattice model for two-lane traffic.  相似文献

A multilane extension of the single-lane anisotropic continuum model (GK model) developed by Gupta and Katiyar for traffic flow is discussed with the consideration of the coupling effect between the vehicles of different lanes in the instantaneous traffic situation and the lane-changing effect. The conditions for securing the linear stability of the new model are presented. The shock and the rarefaction waves, the local cluster effect and the phase transition are investigated through simulation experiments with the new model and are found to be consistent with the diverse nonlinear dynamical phenomena observed in a real traffic flow. The analysis also focuses on empirically observed two-lane phenomena, such as lane usage inversion and the density dependence of the number of lane changes. It is shown that single-lane dynamics can be extended to multilane cases without changing the basic properties of the single-lane model. The results show that the new multilane model is capable of explaining some particular traffic phenomena and is in accordance with real traffic flow.  相似文献

Median U-turns are sometimes installed to improve the traffic flow at busy intersections by eliminating left turns. Using a microscopic traffic model, we confirmed the presence of transitions from free flow to congested flow with increasing car inflow density. In addition, our proposed rules inside a U-turn curve, which accounted for safety issues and an asymmetric lane changing behavior (outer-to-inner vs. inner-to-outer lane transitions), predicted the speed distribution of cars after the U-turn curve. We found that U-turn curves installed for improving traffic flow at busy intersections produced their desired effects only when there is minimal interaction between cars.  相似文献

We present a cellular automaton (CA) model for vehicular traffic controlled by traffic lights. The CA model is not described by a set of rules, but is given by a simple difference equation. The vehicular motion varies highly with both signals’ characteristics and vehicular density. The dependence of tour time on both cycle time and vehicular density is clarified. In the dilute limit of vehicles, the vehicular motion is compared with that by the nonlinear-map model. The fundamental diagrams are derived numerically. It is shown that the fundamental diagram depends highly on the signals’ characteristics. The traffic states are shown for various values of cycle time in the fundamental diagram. We also study the effect of a slow vehicle on the traffic flow.  相似文献

In this paper, phase transitions are investigated in speed gradient model with an on-ramp. Phase diagrams of traffic flow composed of manually driven vehicles and adaptive cruise control (ACC) vehicles are studied, respectively. The traffic flow composed of ACC vehicles is modeled by enhancing propagation speed of small disturbance. The phase diagram of traffic flow composed of manually driven vehicles is similar to that in previous works, in which such states as pinned localized cluster (PLC), moving localized cluster (MLC), triggered stop-and-go traffic (TSG), oscillatory congested traffic (OCT), and homogeneous congested traffic (HCT) are reproduced. In the phase diagram of traffic flow composed of ACC vehicles, traffic stability is enhanced and such states as PLC, MLC, and TSG disappear. Furthermore, some interesting phenomena, such as stationary OCT upstream of on-ramp and appearance of second OCT in HCT, are identified.  相似文献

Pedestrian flow is investigated under the open boundaries in a T-shaped channel where the branch flow joins the main flow at the junction. The pedestrian merging flow is simulated by the use of the lattice-gas model of biased random walkers. When the main flow rate increases under the constant value of branch flow rate, the clogging transitions occur at the main flow or branch flow or both flows. It is shown that the dynamical phase transitions depend on both inlet densities. The four distinct phases are found. The phase diagram is presented for the distinct phases. The scaling of saturated flow rate and transition point is shown. The flow rate exhibits the universal scaling form.  相似文献

We present a bi-directional cellular automaton (CA) model for facing traffic of pedestrians on a wide passage. The excluded-volume effect and bi-directionality of facing traffic are taken into account. The CA model is not stochastic but deterministic. We study the jamming and freezing transitions when pedestrian density increases. We show that the dynamical phase transitions occur at three stages with increasing density. There exist four traffic states: the free traffic, jammed traffic 1, jammed traffic 2, and frozen state. At the frozen state, all pedestrians stop by preventing from going ahead each other. At three transitions, the pedestrian flow changes from the free traffic through the jammed traffic 1 and jammed traffic 2, to the frozen state.  相似文献

在NaSch模型的基础上,制订了超车规则,建立了双向两车道混合车辆的元胞自动机交通流模型. 用计算机模拟了车道密度对称和不对称两种情况下不同参数的混合车辆交通流,得出了相应的速度、流量与密度关系的基本图. 经分析发现,双向两车道混合车辆交通状态可分为快车特性区、准慢车特性区和慢车特性区;两车道上车辆密度的不对称性对交通流有重要的影响. 关键词: 元胞自动机 交通流 混合车辆交通流  相似文献

We study the effect of restart at signals on the vehicular traffic controlled by a series of signals. The Nagel–Schreckenberg model (NS model) and Fukui–Ishibashi model (FI model) are applied to the vehicular motion. In the FI model, the step-by-step acceleration is not taken into account but the acceleration effect is included in the NS model. It is shown that the difference between both models results in the restart effect at signals. The extended version of the NS model with signals is formulated by the difference equation. The restart at signals has an effective effect on the traffic flow. The fundamental diagram changes highly by the restart effect. The dependences of mean speed on the cycle time are shown.  相似文献

A modified two-dimensional lattice hydrodynamic traffic flow model is proposed by incorporating the optimal current difference effect of leading vehicles. Phase transitions and critical phenomenon are investigated near the critical point both analytically and numerically. Based on the configuration of vehicles, it is shown that two distinct jamming transitions occur: conventional jamming transition to the kink jam and jamming transition to the chaotic jam. It is shown that consideration of optimal current difference effect stabilizes the traffic flow and suppresses the traffic jam efficiently for all possible configurations of vehicles on a square lattice.  相似文献

This paper presents an improved cellular automata model, which is based on three phase traffic theory and can reproduce the first order phase transition from free flow to synchronized flow. The fundamental diagram, the spacetime plots, and the 1-min average flux density diagram are presented. The autocorrelation and cross correlation functions are studied to identity the synchronized flow state. We study the dynamical behavior of many vehicles with different desired velocities, moving through a sequence of traffic lights on a single-lane highway, where the traffic lights turn on and off periodically with the synchronized strategy. The dynamics of vehicular traffic controlled by traffic lights is described in terms of the nonlinear maps. For specific values of cycle time, the group (cluster) of vehicles exhibits the bunching without extending over the highway. It is found that two types of traffic states appear: the one is the bunching traffic and the other is the extended traffic. In the bunching traffic, all vehicles move together with the same tour time, while vehicles spread over the highway in the extended traffic. The dynamical transition between two traffic states occurs at specific values of cycle time. The phase diagram (region map) is presented.  相似文献
