In this article, a new numerical approach has been proposed for solving a class of delay time-fractional partial differential equations. The approximate solutions of these equations are considered as linear combinations of Müntz–Legendre polynomials with unknown coefficients. Operational matrix of fractional differentiation is provided to accelerate computations of the proposed method. Using Padé approximation and two-sided Laplace transformations, the mentioned delay fractional partial differential equations will be transformed to a sequence of fractional partial differential equations without delay. The localization process is based on the space-time collocation in some appropriate points to reduce the fractional partial differential equations into the associated system of algebraic equations which can be solved by some robust iterative solvers. Some numerical examples are also given to confirm the accuracy of the presented numerical scheme. Our results approved decisive preference of the Müntz–Legendre polynomials with respect to the Legendre polynomials.  相似文献

This paper deals with the numerical solution of classes of fractional convection–diffusion equations with variable coefficients. The fractional derivatives are described based on the Caputo sense. Our approach is based on the collocation techniques. The method consists of reducing the problem to the solution of linear algebraic equations by expanding the required approximate solution as the elements of shifted Legendre polynomials in time and the Sinc functions in space with unknown coefficients. The properties of Sinc functions and shifted Legendre polynomials are then utilized to evaluate the unknown coefficients. Several examples are given and the numerical results are shown to demonstrate the efficiency of the newly proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical method is presented to obtain and analyze the behavior of numerical solutions of distributed order fractional differential equations of the general form in the time domain with the Caputo fractional derivative. The suggested method is based on the Müntz–Legendre wavelet approximation. We derive a new operational vector for the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral of the Müntz–Legendre wavelets by using the Laplace transform method. Applying this operational vector and collocation method in our approach, the problem can be reduced to a system of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations. The arising system can be solved by the Newton method. Discussion on the error bound and convergence analysis for the proposed method is presented. Finally, seven test problems are considered to compare our results with other well‐known methods used for solving these problems. The results in the tabulated tables highlighted that the proposed method is an efficient mathematical tool for analyzing distributed order fractional differential equations of the general form.  相似文献

Numerical results show the spectral accuracy of this approach. Some approximation results on the modified Laguerre and Legendre interpolations are established.

In this paper, a Legendre wavelet collocation method for solving a class of time-fractional order telegraph equation defined by Caputo sense is discussed. Fractional integral formula of a single Legendre wavelet in the Riemann–Liouville sense is derived by means of shifted Legendre polynomials. The main characteristic behind this approach is that it reduces equations to those of solving a system of algebraic equations which greatly simplifies the problem. The convergence analysis and error analysis of the proposed method are investigated. Several examples are presented to show the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical solution of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media will be discussed. For the solution of FPDEs, we developed a numerical collocation method using an algorithm based on two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation, which is proposed for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media. By implementing the partial Riemann–Liouville fractional derivative operators, two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation and its operational matrix along with collocation method are used to convert FPDEs first into weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations and then converted weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations into system of algebraic equation. Some results concerning the convergence analysis and error analysis are obtained. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique. A numerical method based on quintic B-spline has been developed to solve the linear and nonlinear Fredholm and Volterra integro-differential equations up to order 4. The solution and its derivatives are collocated by quintic B-spline and then the integral equation is approximated by the 4-points Gauss–Turán quadrature formula with respect to the weight function Legendre. The error analysis of proposed numerical method is studied theoretically. Numerical results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method which shows that our method can be applied for large values of N. The results are compared with the results obtained by other methods which show that our method is accurate.  相似文献

In this study, a Legendre collocation matrix method is presented to solve high-order Linear Fredholm integro-differential equations under the mixed conditions in terms of Legendre polynomials. The proposed method converts the equation and conditions to matrix equations, by means of collocation points on the interval [−1, 1], which corresponding to systems of linear algebraic equations with Legendre coefficients. Thus, by solving the matrix equation, Legendre coefficients and polynomial approach are obtained. Also examples that illustrate the pertinent features of the method are presented and by using the error analysis, the results are discussed.  相似文献

By incorporating the Legendre multiwavelet into the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method, this paper presents a novel approach for solving Poisson’s equation with Dirichlet boundary, which is known as the discontinuous Legendre multiwavelet element (DLWE) method, derive an adaptive algorithm for the method, and estimate the approximating error of its numerical fluxes. One striking advantage of our method is that the differential operator, boundary conditions and numerical fluxes involved in the elementwise computation can be done with lower time cost. Numerical experiments demonstrate the validity of this method. Furthermore, this paper generalizes the DLWE method to the general elliptic equations defined on a bounded domain and describes the possibilities of constructing optimal adaptive algorithm. The proposed method and its generalizations are also applicable to some other kinds of partial differential equations.  相似文献

In this study, a new numerical method for the solution of the linear and nonlinear distributed fractional differential equations is introduced. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. The suggested framework is based upon Legendre wavelets approximations. For the first time, an exact formula for the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral operator for the Legendre wavelets is derived. We then use this formula and the properties of Legendre wavelets to reduce the given problem into a system of algebraic equations. Several illustrative examples are included to observe the validity, effectiveness and accuracy of the present numerical method.  相似文献

In this paper, shifted Legendre polynomials will be used for constructing the numerical solution for a class of multiterm variable‐order fractional differential equations. In the proposed method, the shifted Legendre operational matrix of the fractional variable‐order derivatives will be investigated. The fundamental problem is reduced to an algebraic system of equations using the constructed matrix and the collocation technique, which can be solved numerically. The error estimate of the proposed method is investigated. Some numerical examples are presented to prove the applicability, generality, and accuracy of the suggested method.  相似文献

The Legendre spectral and pseudospectral approximations are proposed for the standard Zakharov equations with initial boundary conditions. Optimal H1 error estimate of the method is given for both semidiscrete and fully discrete schemes. The uniform convergence for the parameter ε relative to the acoustic speed is proved. Moreover, the multidomain Legendre spectral scheme is also constructed, which can be implemented in parallel. Finally, numerical results in single domain and multidomain verify the high accuracy of the Legendre spectral method. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article, our main goal is to render an idea to convert a nonlinear weakly singular Volterra integral equation to a non‐singular one by new fractional‐order Legendre functions. The fractional‐order Legendre functions are generated by change of variable on well‐known shifted Legendre polynomials. We consider a general form of singular Volterra integral equation of the second kind. Then the fractional Legendre–Gauss–Lobatto quadratures formula eliminates the singularity of the kernel of the integral equation. Finally, the Legendre pseudospectral method reduces the solution of this problem to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. This method also can be utilized on fractional differential equations as well. The comparison of results of the presented method and other numerical solutions shows the efficiency and accuracy of this method. Also, the obtained maximum error between the results and exact solutions shows that using the present method leads to accurate results and fast convergence for solving nonlinear weakly singular Volterra integral equations. Based on collocation with Haar and Legendre wavelets, two efficient and new numerical methods are being proposed for the numerical solution of elliptic partial differential equations having oscillatory and non-oscillatory behavior. The present methods are developed in two stages. In the initial stage, they are developed for Haar wavelets. In order to obtain higher accuracy, Haar wavelets are replaced by Legendre wavelets at the second stage. A comparative analysis of the performance of Haar wavelets collocation method and Legendre wavelets collocation method is carried out. In addition to this, comparative studies of performance of Legendre wavelets collocation method and quadratic spline collocation method, and meshless methods and Sinc–Galerkin method are also done. The analysis indicates that there is a higher accuracy obtained by Legendre wavelets decomposition, which is in the form of a multi-resolution analysis of the function. The solution is first found on the coarse grid points, and then it is refined by obtaining higher accuracy with help of increasing the level of wavelets. The accurate implementation of the classical numerical methods on Neumann’s boundary conditions has been found to involve some difficulty. It has been shown here that the present methods can be easily implemented on Neumann’s boundary conditions and the results obtained are accurate; the present methods, thus, have a clear advantage over the classical numerical methods. A distinct feature of the proposed methods is their simple applicability for a variety of boundary conditions. Numerical order of convergence of the proposed methods is calculated. The results of numerical tests show better accuracy of the proposed method based on Legendre wavelets for a variety of benchmark problems.  相似文献

In this article, we develop a direct solution technique for solving multi-order fractional differential equations (FDEs) with variable coefficients using a quadrature shifted Legendre tau (Q-SLT) method. The spatial approximation is based on shifted Legendre polynomials. A new formula expressing explicitly any fractional-order derivatives of shifted Legendre polynomials of any degree in terms of shifted Legendre polynomials themselves is proved. Extension of the tau method for FDEs with variable coefficients is treated using the shifted Legendre–Gauss–Lobatto quadrature. Numerical results are given to confirm the reliability of the proposed method for some FDEs with variable coefficients.  相似文献

This paper concerns the mixed Laguerre–Legendre spectral approximation and its application to numerical simulation of incompressible flow in an infinite strip. Some approximation results in weighted Sobolev spaces are given. A Laguerre–Legendre spectral scheme for the stream function form of Navier–Stokes equations is constructed. The stability and the convergence of the proposed scheme are proved. The numerical experiments show the high accuracy of this method. The main techniques used in this paper are also applicable to other nonlinear partial differential equations in an infinite strip.  相似文献

The optimal control of transverse vibration of two Euler–Bernoulli beams coupled in parallel by discrete springs is considered. An index of performance is formulated which consists of a modified energy functional of two coupled structures at a specified time and penalty functions involving the point control forces. The minimization of the performance index over these forces is subject to the equation of motion governing the structural vibrations, the imposed initial condition as well as the boundary conditions. By use of the modal space technique, the optimal control of distributed parameter systems is simplified into the optimal control of a linear time-invariant lumped-parameter systems. A computationally attractive method based on Legendre wavelets in time domain for solving the optimal control of the lumped parameter systems for any finite interval is proposed. Legendre wavelet integral operational matrix and the properties of a Kronecker product are used to find the approximated optimal trajectory and optimal law of the linear systems with respect to a quadratic cost function by only solving a linear system of algebraic equations. This method provides a straightforward and convenient approach for digital computation. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

An effective method based upon Legendre multiwavelets is proposed for the solution of Fredholm weakly singular integro-differential equations. The properties of Legendre multiwavelets are first given and their operational matrices of integral are constructed. These wavelets are utilized to reduce the solution of the given integro-differential equation to the solution of a sparse linear system of algebraic equations. In order to save memory requirement and computational time, a threshold procedure is applied to obtain the solution to this system of algebraic equations. Through numerical examples, performance of the present method is investigated concerning the convergence and the sparseness of the resulted matrix equation.  相似文献
