Synthesis and structure of O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides

The O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides were synthesized, and the x-ray structural analysis (XSA) of one of them — O-(o-tolylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chloride — was performed. It was established from the data of the XSA and the PMR spectra that all synthesized compounds are the Z isomers.Institute of Physiologically Active Substances, Russian Academy of Sciences, 142432 Chernogolovka. A new approach towards peptidosulfonamides: synthesis of potential inhibitors of bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis enzymes MurD and MurE

Peptidosulfonamides are an emerging group of peptidomimetics with a variety of applications in medicinal chemistry. We present a novel approach to the synthesis of peptidosulfonamides, and apply it to a series of new potential inhibitors of the bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis enzymes MurD and MurE. The synthesis was conducted via N-phthalimido β-aminoethanesulfonyl chlorides, which are new building blocks for the synthesis of peptidosulfonamides. In the most crucial step, sulfonic acids or their sodium salts were converted into the corresponding sulfonyl chlorides using an excess of either SOCl₂ or SOCl₂/DMF, and then coupled to the C-protected amino acid. None of the compounds significantly inhibited MurD, however, some inhibited MurE; one had an IC₅₀ below 200 μM, which constitutes a promising starting point for further development. Molecular modelling simulations were performed on two analogues to investigate the absence of inhibitory activity of the sulfonamide compounds on MurD.     

Polyfluoroalkylthiotrifluoroacetylketenes

A procedure was developed for the synthesis of polyfluoroalkylthiotrifluoroacetylketenes, and their reactions with nucleophilic reagents were studied. The resulting compounds were demonstrated to act as heterodienes in reactions with unsaturated compounds.     

Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl and alkyl halides using palladium/imidazolium salt protocols

A simple new protocol for the high yielding Suzuki-Miyaura cross-couplings of aryl chlorides with aryl boronic acids using a palladium/imidazolium salt catalytic system is presented. The first examples of a palladium/imidazolium salt protocol for sp³-sp³ Suzuki-Miyaura couplings of alkyl halides are also disclosed.     

Sulfenyl halides in the synthesis of heterocycles. 3. Interaction of perfluoro-1-ethyl-2-methyl-1-propenyl-iminochloromethanesulfenyl chloride with 1-allyl-2-methoxybenzene

Reaction of perfluoro-1-ethyl-2-methyl-1-propenyliminochloromethanesulfenyl chloride with 1-allyl-2-methoxybenzene in methylene chloride and nitromethane gives as the main products β-and β-chloro sulfides plus derivative of 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran. The reaction in nitromethane in the presence of lithium perchlorate gave a product of addition of sulfur-containing electrophiles to the double bond-a derivative of 1,3-thiazolidin-2-one-in preference to the cycloaddition product. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, 1558–1564, October, 2006.     

官能化蒙脱土负载双金属催化芳香氯化物水相脱氯

用PVP(聚乙烯吡咯烷酮)络合双金属Pd^2 ,Sn^4 后，再负载于用PEG400(平均分子量为400的聚乙二醇)官能化的蒙脱土上，制成双金属催化剂PVP—PdCl2-SnCl4/Montk10-PEG400,用于催化难溶于水的芳香卤化物水相脱卤，芳香族氮化物转化率达100％，该催化剂可重复使用。对催化剂进行了IR及TEM表征。     

Fluorinated benzimidazo[1,2-a]quinolones

The reactions of 2-cyanomethylbenzimidazole with polyfluorobenzoyl chlorides afforded 2-(1,3-dihydrobenzimidazol-2-ylidene)-3-oxo-3-polyfluorophenylpropionitriles. Refluxing of the latter compounds in acetonitrile in the presence of DBU or in dimethylformamide in the presence of amines gave rise to fluorine-containing derivatives of benzimidazo[1,2-a]quinolone.     

Carbene adduct of cyclopalladated ferrocenylimine as an efficient catalyst for the amination of aryl chlorides

A novel air- and moisture-stable carbene adduct of cyclopalladated ferrocenylimine has been synthesized and characterized. The structure of this compound was determined by X-ray crystal structure analysis. This adduct has been applied as an efficient catalyst for the amination of aryl chlorides.     

Thermal Analysis of Hexachloroplumbate and Chlorides Containing Complex Divalent Lead 2,2'-bipyridine Cations

Lead(II) 2,2'-bipyridine hexachloroplumba tetetrahydrate was synthesized and investigated by DTA, TG and DTG. IR spectroscopy and other methods enabled the identification of some of the decomposition products. Comparative studies on the corresponding chlorides: [Pb(bipy)]Cl₂ and [Pb(bipy)₃]Cl₂, which can be considered as precursors of the hexachloroplumbate, were also undertaken. X-ray measurements enabled the tentative determination of the crystal structure of [Pb(bipy)]Cl₂. Hexachloroplumbate decomposes with the liberation of chlorine, water and organic ligands, and the process is accompanied by the simultaneous transition of Pb(IV)→Pb(II). Chlorides release only ligands upon heating. Residues comprised always PbCl₂. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.
