A simple description of the temperature dependence of the width of the fission-fragment mass yield in ~(197)Au and ~(209)Bi at intermediate energies

A simple approach is proposed to describe the experimental data for the widths of the fission-fragment mass yields in~(197)Au and~(209)Bi at low and intermediate energies.The approach is based on the expressions for the temperature dependence of the width of the fission-fragment mass yield and the mass of the most probable fragment.The expression for the width of the fission-fragment mass yield depends on the mass of the most probable fragment,the surface terms of the energy level density parameter,the temperature and the stiffness parameter of the potential related to mass-asymmetric degree of freedom.It is shown that the contribution of the surface term of the energy level density parameter is important for describing the experimental data in a wide range of energies.

Domain structure fluctuations kinetics of amorphous alloys at low-temperature annealing

Previously reported spin orientation fluctuations of the amorphous Fe₈₁B₁₉ alloy at temperatures well below the onset of crystallization were directly shown by the time scanning experiment at 250 °C. The connection of this effect with the magnetostriction field and α-Fe nuclei at the contact surface was proved by the CEMS spectra and by vanishing the effect at both the etched-off Fe₈₁B₁₉ and a zero magnetostriction samples.     

Size effect in nuclear spin-lattice relaxation and atomic mobility for molten gallium particles

The spin-lattice relaxation rate of gallium isotopes in a melt was shown by NMR to increase considerably with a decrease in gallium particle size. The dominant relaxation mechanism of gallium embedded in an synthetic opal matrix changes from magnetic dipole to electrical quadrupole. The increase in the correlation time of atomic motion in gallium particles with a decrease in their size was estimated. For gallium in opal, the correlation time was found to increase by more than an order of magnitude.
