Type-II frequency doubling of short Gaussian laser pulses is studied theoretically. The situation is analysed when the group velocity mismatch and the walk-off angle of the interacting waves limit the frequency conversion efficiency. It is shown that with collinear ‘o’ and ‘e’ polarized fundamental waves a temporal and spatial separation of the fundamental beams is necessary to compensate for both effects. Results of the presented model are discussed for KDP crystals.  相似文献

We investigate numerically the second-harmonic generation from near infrared 100 fs pulses in periodically and aperiodically poled lithium niobate crystals, taking into account the group-velocity mismatch, the group-velocity dispersion, and self-action effects. For the first time, we show that a tenfold pulse compression can be obtained at both fundamental and second-harmonic frequencies. The mechanism of compression and the pertinent quality factors are discussed.  相似文献

Third harmonic generation with simultaneous excitation of degenerate two-frequency (2ω = ω + ω) and three-frequency (3ω = 2ω + ω) interactions of collinear waves in periodic crystals is considered. It is shown that the optimal condition for third harmonic generation, in this case, is determined by the ratio of the amplitudes of the fundamental and second harmonics at the entrance of the crystal. The optimal value of this ratio, for which the efficiency of the third harmonic generation may reach 96%, is found.  相似文献

Frequency doubling of spatially limited laser beams in nonlinear optical crystals is analyzed. Conditions are found under which the diaphragm aperture effect limiting the efficiency of the process of second optical harmonic generation can be reduced. It is shown that a spatial shift of mutually orthogonally polarized beams of fundamental radiation in the direction perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the waves, as well as the optimization of the ratio of the spatial dimensions and the intensity at the entrance of the nonlinear medium, gives rise to an increase in the efficiency of second harmonic generation.  相似文献

A method for the production of pure solutions of hydrogen peroxide during water activation by the plasma of electrodeless microwave discharge has been developed. It is shown that activated water has a pronounced effect on agricultural plants, being a non-toxic and chemically pure regulator of biological activity. In particular, the treatment of seeds of agricultural plants with activated water solutions can improve their drought resistance.

Frequency doubling of spatially limited laser beams in nonlinear crystals is investigated theoretically. It was shown that the major factor, which reduces the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency in this case, is a diaphragm aperture effect, caused by influence of extraordinary polarized laser beams. In that case a spatial shift of mutually orthogonally polarized beams of the incident waves relative to each other in perpendicular direction of wave transmission at the entry to crystals lead to increase the efficiency of SHG of limited beams.  相似文献

Theoretical grounds for formation of continuous substitutional solid solutions are analyzed taking into account the generalized moments, the difference in valence, and covalent radii of initial components. On the basis of these studies, the technology of formation of epitaxial (Si2)1?x(GaP)t (0≤x≤1) layers on silicon substrates from the tin solution-melt using forced cooling is developed. The distribution of components over the thickness of Si-(Si2)1?x(GaP)x layers, the photosensitivity, and the current-voltage characteristics of the Si-(Si2)1?x(GaP)x heterostructures are studied. Analyses of the results of the X-ray studies and photoelectric properties of obtained solid-solution epitaxial layers indicate that the grown graded-gap (Si2)1?x(GaP)x layers have a high structural quality.  相似文献

The method of strong interaction of nonlinear waves has been developed to analyse the second harmonic generation of intense laser radiation in the transient regime. Analytic solution for frequency conversion efficiency – taking into account the pump radiation depletion, influence of phase mismatch, dispersion of group velocities and higher nonlinearities – has been first obtained. A comparison of theoretically derived results and known experimental data has been conducted, and a general agreement of these results has been obtained. The optimal conditions of the second harmonic generation of neodymium laser radiation into femtosecond pulse duration range have been determined.  相似文献
