Matching of symmetry at interfaces is a fundamental obstacle in molecular assembly. Virus‐like particles (VLPs) are important vaccine platforms against pathogenic threats, including Covid‐19. However, symmetry mismatch can prohibit vaccine nanoassembly. We established an approach for coupling VLPs to diverse antigen symmetries. SpyCatcher003 enabled efficient VLP conjugation and extreme thermal resilience. Many people had pre‐existing antibodies to SpyTag:SpyCatcher but less to the 003 variants. We coupled the computer‐designed VLP not only to monomers (SARS‐CoV‐2) but also to cyclic dimers (Newcastle disease, Lyme disease), trimers (influenza hemagglutinins), and tetramers (influenza neuraminidases). Even an antigen with dihedral symmetry could be displayed. For the global challenge of influenza, SpyTag‐mediated display of trimer and tetramer antigens strongly induced neutralizing antibodies. SpyCatcher003 conjugation enables nanodisplay of diverse symmetries towards generation of potent vaccines.  相似文献

A technique which combines image analysis and polarising optical microscope (POM) is a useful tool for the physical investigation of discotic liquid crystals, such as hexabutoxytriphenylene and hexahexyloxytriphenylene. This investigation includes the phase transitions, optical properties and order parameter as a function of temperature. Textures of discotic liquid crystals are captured as a function of temperature using POM. These microscopic textures are analysed using MATLAB software to compute statistical parameters, Legendre moments, optical parameters and order parameters of discotic liquid crystal samples. Compared with other techniques in the literature, the proposed methodology is a reliable and very simple technique for the physical investigation of liquid crystals.  相似文献

The sonochemical acceleration of bleaching of Rhodamine B by sodium hypochlorite has been studied using ultrasound intensities in the range 0-7 W cm(-2). Using a 20 kHz ultrasonic horn, it was shown that ultrasound could significantly shorten the treatment time and/or the concentration of hypochlorite required for the reaction. A number of intermediate species formed during the reaction have been identified. It was demonstrated that the same sonochemical reactions occur during the use of dental ultrasound instruments of the type used in endodontics where hypochlorite solutions act as disinfectants. Results showed pseudo-first order degradation kinetics for the degradation of Rhodamine B for both types of source. Both the distribution of cavitation and the resulting bleaching reactions were dependent on the design of the tips. The bleaching reaction can therefore be used to characterise the behaviour of dental instruments and aid in the optimisation of their performance.  相似文献

Zinc glutarates were synthesized from zinc oxides with varying purities via different stirring routes. The particle size and structure of these zinc glutarates were determined by wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and the laser particle size analyzer technique. The results demonstrated that the crystallinity and crystalline perfectness of zinc glutarate are the crucial factors that affect the catalytic activity for the copolymerization of carbon dioxide (CO2) and propylene oxide (PO). Additionally, the catalyst with a small particle size dramatically increased the yield of the copolymerization between CO2 and PO. High‐molecular‐weight and regular molecular structure poly(propylene carbonate)s (PPC)s were obtained from CO2 and PO with the synthesized zinc glutarates. Very high catalytic activity of 160.4 g polymer/g catalyst was afforded. The NMR technique revealed that the PPC copolymer exhibits an exact alternating copolymer structure. The relationships between the crystallinity and the particle size of catalyst with the catalytic activity are correlated and discussed. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report a combined experimental and computational comparative study of the reactions of the homologous titanium dialkyl- and diphenylhydrazido and imido compounds Cp*Ti{MeC(N(i)Pr)(2)}(NNR(2)) (R = Me (1) or Ph (2)) and Cp*Ti{MeC(N(i)Pr)(2)}(NTol) (3) with silanes, halosilanes, alkyl halides and [Et(3)NH][BPh(4)]. Compound 1 underwent reversible Si-H 1,2-addition to Ti=N(α) with RSiH(3) (experimental ΔH ca. -17 kcal mol(-1)), and irreversible addition with PhSiH(2)X (X = Cl, Br). DFT found that the reaction products and certain intermediates were stabilised by β-NMe(2) coordination to titanium. The Ti-D bond in Cp*Ti{MeC(N(i)Pr)(2)}(D){N(NMe(2))SiD(2)Ph} underwent σ-bond metathesis with BuSiH(3) and H(2). Compound 1 reacted with RR'SiCl(2) at N(α) to transfer both Cl atoms to Ti; 2 underwent a similar reaction. Compound 3 did not react with RSiH(3) or alkyl halides but formed unstable Ti=N(α) 1,2-addition or N(α) protonation products with PhSiH(2)X or [Et(3)NH][BPh(4)]. Compound 1 underwent exclusive alkylation at N(β) with RCH(2)X (R = H, Me or Ph; X = Br or I) whereas protonation using [Et(3)NH][BPh(4)] occurred at N(α). DFT studies found that in all cases electrophile addition to N(α) (with or without NMe(2) chelation) was thermodynamically favoured compared to addition to N(β).  相似文献

The high pressure induced phase transition in rhenium diselenides (ReSe(2)) and gold-doped rhenium diselenides (Au-ReSe(2)) at ambient temperature have been investigated using angular-dispersive x-ray diffraction (ADXRD) under high pressure up to around 10.50 and 9.98 GPa, respectively. In situ ADXRD measurements found that the phase transition pressures of ReSe(2) and Au-ReSe(2) began at 9.98 and 8.52 GPa, respectively. Compressibilities analysis shows the relationship of along c-axis > along a-axis > along b-axis. The linear compressibility of the pressure dependence of α, β, and γ of ReSe(2) shows that a phase transition can be related to a counterclockwise rotational trend of the selenium atoms around the chain of Re(4) atoms during the decrease of the c-axis distance by a combination of stresses due to the bending effect of α and stretching effect of β. The cause of the reduction of the phase transition pressure of Au-ReSe(2) is attributed mainly to a structural distortion as evidenced by the observation of a weak clockwise rotational trend of Se atoms around the chain of Re(4) atoms in the pressure range 3.99-4.99 GPa which subsequently reversed to counterclockwise rotation under higher pressure.  相似文献

The rapid source identification and environmental risk assessment (ERA) of hundreds of chemicals of emerging concern (CECs) in river water represent a significant analytical challenge. Herein, a potential solution involving a rapid direct-injection liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method for the quantitative determination of 102 CECs (151 qualitatively) in river water is presented and applied across six rivers in Germany and Switzerland at high spatial resolution. The method required an injection volume of only 10 µL of filtered sample, with a runtime of 5.5 min including re-equilibration with >10 datapoints per peak per transition (mostly 2 per compound), and 36 stable isotope-labelled standards. Performance was excellent from the low ng/L to µg/L concentration level, with 260 injections possible in any 24 h period. The method was applied in three separate campaigns focusing on the ERA of rivers impacted by wastewater effluent discharges (1 urban area in the Basel city region with 4 rivers, as well as 1 semi-rural and 1 rural area, each focusing on 1 river). Between 25 and 40 compounds were quantified directly in each campaign, and in all cases small tributary rivers showed higher CEC concentrations (e.g., up to ~4000 ng/L in total in the R. Schwarzach, Bavaria, Germany). The source of selected CECs could also be identified and differentiated from other sources at pre- and post- wastewater treatment plant effluent discharge points, as well as the effect of dilution downstream, which occurred over very short distances in all cases. Lastly, ERA for 41 CECs was performed at specific impacted sites, with risk quotients (RQs) at 1 or more sites estimated as high risk (RQ > 10) for 1 pharmaceutical (diclofenac), medium risk (RQ of 1–10) for 3 CECs (carbamazepine, venlafaxine, and sulfamethoxazole), and low risk (RQ = 0.1–1.0) for 7 CECs (i.e., RQ > 0.1 for 11 CECs in total). The application of high-throughput methods like this could enable a better understanding of the risks of CECs, especially in low flow/volume tributary rivers at scale and with high resolution.  相似文献

正A homologous series of heterocycles,6-methyl-2-(4-alkoxybenzylidenamino)benzothiazoles,were synthesized and characterized using FT-IR,~1H and ~(13)C NMR and mass spectrometric analysis.Enantiotropic nematic phase was observed for shorter members.Smectic A phase only emerged from octyloxy derivative onwards.The terminal methyl group at the benzothiazole fragment and the Schiff base linkage influenced the mesomorphic behavior of the present series.  相似文献

This article provides an exploratory case study that examines what one teacher indicated as unexpected as she worked to become more purposeful about her classroom discourse practices. We found that she highlighted three areas as being unexpected: (1) aspects of lesson enactment; (2) characteristics of student learning and (3) her own intentionality or purposefulness. We interpret these instances through the lens of the systemic functional linguistics (SFL) appraisal framework in order to understand how she evaluates the instances she highlights and connect these instances to the literature on values in the teaching and learning of mathematics.  相似文献

New Schiff base liquid crystals containing benzoxazole core and alkanoyloxy chain at the end group of the molecules (Cn-1H2n-1COO-,n=14,16,18) was synthesized.The present compounds are enantiotropic smectic A liquid crystals.It was also found that the end groups of the molecules and polar chloro substituent at the benzoxazole fragment had effect on the mesomorphic properties.  相似文献
