The purpose of this study was to develop a numerical tool to simulate the performance of lugged wheels designed for a lunar microrover. The performance was analyzed using a Discrete Element Method (DEM) whose accuracy was validated for interactions between lugged wheels and soil. DEM analysis indicated that, on flat horizontal lunar surfaces, wheels with 18 10-mm-high lugs would provide less net traction than would wheels with 36 5-mm-high lugs.  相似文献

Water‐soluble diblock copolymer, poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐poly(N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrroridone) (PNIPAMmb‐PNVPn), was found to associate with fullerene (C60), and thus C60 can be solubilized in water. The 63C60/PNIPAMmb‐PNVPn micelle formed a core‐shell micelle‐like aggregate comprising a C60/PNVP hydrophobic core and a thermoresponsive PNIPAM shell. The C60‐containing polymer micelle formation and its thermoresponsive behavior were characterized using light scattering and 1H NMR techniques. The hydrodynamic radius (Rh) of the C60‐bound polymer micelle increased with increasing temperature, which was ascribed to the hydrophobic association between dehydrated PNIPAM shells above lower critical solution temperature (LCST). 1H NMR data suggest that the motion of the PNIPAM block is restricted above LCST due to the dehydration of the PNIPAM shell in water. The generation of singlet oxygen by photosensitization by the C60‐bound polymer micelle was confirmed from photooxidation of 9,10‐anthracenedipropionic acid. Furthermore, DNA was found to be cleaved by visible light irradiation in the presence of the C60‐bound polymer micelle. Therefore, there may be a hope for a pharmaceutical application of the C60‐bound polymer micelle to cancer photodynamic therapy. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Helical [5]thiaheterohelicene 5HM, which rapidly interconverts between P and M enantiomers in solution, was connected to helical l-phenylalanine oligomers with an ester linkage to give peptidehelicenes (5Fn, where n: number of bonded phenylalanines). The characteristics of 5F4 and 5F5 with two types of helixes in a molecule were investigated, particularly in comparison with those of 5F15F3 with an incomplete coil of a peptide moiety. l-Phenylalanine peptide chains induced a shift in the equilibrium between the P and M helixes of 5HM toward the P side for all the 5Fns examined. The enantiomeric excess (ee) of the P form increased with a decrease in temperature, together with an elongation of the peptide chains. 5F4 and 5F5 in hot solutions of some solvents formed a gel at room temperature, whereas 5F15F3 showed no such behavior. In this gel, the stable helical form of the 5HM moiety in 5F4 and 5F5 was observed to be the M form in contrast to that in their solutions.  相似文献

The effects of three nucleon force (3NF) have been actively studied via the nucleon–deuteron (Nd) scattering states. The differential cross sections and the vector analyzing powers A y of the 2H(p, n) inclusive breakup reaction at 170 MeV were measured for the study of 3NF effects in the intermediate energy region. The polarized proton beam of 170 MeV was injected to the deuterated polyethylene (CD2) target and the energy of scattered neutrons were measured by using TOF method. The data were compared with the Faddeev calculations based on modern nucleon–nucleon (NN) forces with and without the 3NF. Concerning the differential cross sections, we can see large discrepancies between the data and the calculations in the region of scattered neutron energies are low, which is similar to the results of the 2H(p, p) inclusive breakup reaction at 250 MeV.  相似文献

Spectroscopy for neutron-rich nuclei 9He and 12Be has been performed by means of heavy-ion double charge exchange (HIDCX) (18O, 18Ne) reaction on stable target nuclei 9Be and 12C, respectively. Several clear peaks in 12Be at low excitation energy region even above neutron separation energy have been observed in one-shot measurement, whereas no prominent signals of 9He have been observed owing to the small cross section. It is shown that the HIDCX reaction is a new powerful spectroscopic tool for study of unstable neutron-rich nuclei.  相似文献
