The present paper deals with a method of solid-phase extraction of tocopherol acetate (TA, 49.6 microg/g) from emulsified nutritional supplements, which contains 50 kinds of compounds, followed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection The TA concentration is 5 to approximately 100,000 times lower than that of other compounds in the samples. Measuring the loading capacity of the larger amounts of vegetable oil onto the Bond Elut C18 cartridge was examined for the complete retention of smaller level of TA. A sample solution was applied to a solid-phase extraction cartridge and then TA was eluted by acetonitrile followed by HPLC. This method was suitable for the determination of TA in emulsified nutritional supplements. The proposed method was simple, rapid (analysis time: ca. 15 min), sensitive [detection limit: ca. 0.1 ng per injection (100 microl) at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3:1], and reproducible (relative standard deviation: ca. 2.5% (n=5)). The calibration graph of TA was linear in the range of 0.1 to 100 ng per injection (100 microl). Recovery of TA was over 90% by the standard addition method.  相似文献

Analysis is presented for the heat transfer performance of square ducts with internal fins from each wall in the case of combined free and forced convection by fully developed laminar flow. Numerical results are obtained for the Nusselt number and the pressure drop parameter for various values of finlengths and heat source parameter. For various values of Rayleigh numbers, the Nusselt number increases with the increase in finlength and decreases with the increase in heat source parameter.
Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Analyse für den Wärmeaustausch von quadratischen Rohren mit inneren Rippen an jeder Wand im Falle einer Kombination von freier und erzwungener Konvektion bei voll entwickelter laminarer Strömung gegeben. Numerische Resultate für die Nusselt-Zahl und den Druckabfall-Koeffizienten für verschiedene Rippenbreiten und Parameter der Wärmequelle werden erhalten. Für einige Werte der Rayleighzahl wächst die Nusselt-Zahl mit der Rippenbreite und fällt mit wachsendem Parameter der Wärmequelle.

A survey of previous studies on vacuum deposited metal films shows that in high frequency measurements, explicit reference to the effect of air-exposure is not made. The present work on bismuth films (in-situ and air-exposed) at dc and rf frequencies, carried out mainly to study the air-exposure effect, shows that in-situ dc and rf and exposed rf all show nearly the same resistivity for thick continuous films. But air-exposed dc film resistances, when compared to in-situ dc resistances, show that the grain boundary reflection coefficient, R gin Mayadas-Shatzkes model changes from 0·2 to 0·6. This is shown to be due to the grain boundary oxidation. The result is substantiated by rf measurements.  相似文献

Differential equations and maps are the most frequently studied examples of dynamical systems and may be considered as continuous and discrete time-evolution processes respectively. The processes in which time evolution takes place on Cantor-like fractal subsets of the real line may be termed as fractal-time dynamical systems. Formulation of these systems requires an appropriate framework. A new calculus calledF α-calculus, is a natural calculus on subsetsF⊂ R of dimension α,0 < α ≤ 1. It involves integral and derivative of order α, calledF α-integral andF α-derivative respectively. TheF α-integral is suitable for integrating functions with fractal support of dimension α, while theF α-derivative enables us to differentiate functions like the Cantor staircase. The functions like the Cantor staircase function occur naturally as solutions ofF α-differential equations. Hence the latter can be used to model fractal-time processes or sublinear dynamical systems. We discuss construction and solutions of some fractal differential equations of the form

The changes effected by the Coriolis acceleration in the frequencies of inplane vibrations of a rotating disk are calculated. It is shown that the current practice to neglect this effect in everyday engineering calculations is quite justified. It is also shown that when disks are spun at ultra high speeds, say exceeding the one that corresponds with one-tenth of the lowest natural frequency of a stationary disk, the effect does become significant.  相似文献

It has been recognized recently that fractional calculus is useful for handling scaling structures and processes. We begin this survey by pointing out the relevance of the subject to physical situations. Then the essential definitions and formulae from fractional calculus are summarized and their immediate use in the study of scaling in physical systems is given. This is followed by a brief summary of classical results. The main theme of the review rests on the notion of local fractional derivatives. There is a direct connection between local fractional differentiability properties and the dimensions/local Hölder exponents of nowhere differentiable functions. It is argued that local fractional derivatives provide a powerful tool to analyze the pointwize behaviour of irregular signals and functions.  相似文献

Plasma polymerized methyl methacrylate (PPMMA) films have been synthesised on silicon substrates in RF glow discharge using oxygen plasma. The electron beam delineation sensitivity of the PPMMA films has been studied systematically by varying oxygen and monomer flow rates. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis clearly illustrates how C/O ratio in the films determines the properties of PPMMA films as electron beam resist. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
