Output mode characteristics of an in-phase locked gain waveguide array CO2 laser

In this paper,experimental and theoretical studies of the output mode characteristics of an in-phase locked gain waveguide array CO 2 laser are reported.The experimental results of the optical oscillation mode frequency,the far-field intensity distribution and the burnt pattern of the sliced waveguide array laser are obtained.A revised mode expression of the rectangle waveguide,which is suited for this waveguide array CO 2 laser,is proposed.The theoretical simulation results based on the revised mode expression are shown to be in good agreement with the experimental results.     

激光二极管端面泵浦多段复合板条激光器热效应

针对激光二极管端面泵浦的多段渐变浓度复合板条激光增益介质,提出了两种选取掺杂浓度的方法,并分别计算了多段渐变浓度复合板条增益介质的热量、温度及应力分布.结果表明,与单一掺杂浓度板条增益介质相比,采用多段渐变浓度复合增益介质可显著降低增益介质内部的温度梯度及最大热应力,从而提高了激光器整体的损伤极限泵浦功率,有利于激光器的功率升级.     

Laser-Diode End-Pumped Nd:YVO4 Slab Laser under Direct Pumping into the Emitting Level

We present an 880-nm laser-diode partially end-pumped Nd：YVO4 slab cw laser with output 126.7 W by using a hybrid resonator. The slop efficiency and optical-to-optical efficiency with respect to absorbed pumping power are 73.2% and 58.7%, respectively. At the output power of 100 W, the beam propagation M2 factors are 1.1 in the unstable direction and 1.15 in the stable direction.     

Laser Diode Pumped 1342nm Nd:YVO4 Slab Laser with a Compact Hybrid Resonator

An 880-nm laser-diode stack end-pumped cw 1342nm Nd：YVO4 slab laser with a compact positive confocal unstable-stable hybrid resonator is demonstrated. At absorbed pump power of 115 W, the output power 32.4 W is obtained. The slope efficiency and optical-to-optical conversion efficiency are 42% and 28.2%, respectively. At output power of 22 W, the stable direction M2 is 1.3 and the unstable direction M2 is 1.2.     

A Kilowatt Radio-Frequency Excited Diffusively Cooled All-Metal Slab Waveguide CO2 Laser

A new type of rf excited diffusively cooled all-metal slab waveguide CO2 laser is presented, in which the waveguide channel is constructed by two copper side walls and two copper electrodes, and the discharge is confined in the slab waveguide channel in terms of the voltage division structure. From this type of structure, over 1 kW laser power is obtained with an efficieney of more than 13%.
