We investigate the transmission properties of a normally incident TM plane wave through metal films with periodic parabolic-shaped grooves on single and double surfaces using the finite-difference-time-domain method. Nearly zero transmission efficiency is found at wavelengths corresponding to surface plasmon excitation on a flat surface in the case where the single surface is grooved. Meanwhile, resonant excitation of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) Bloch modes leads to a strong transmission peak at slightly larger wavelengths. When the grating is grooved on double surfaces, the transmission enhancement can be dramatically improved due to the resonant tunnelling between SPP Bloch modes.  相似文献

We report an efficient continuous-wave self-Raman laser at 1176 nm based on a 20-mm-long composite YVO_4/Nd:YVO_4/YVO_4 crystal and pumped by a wavelength-locked 878.9 nm diode laser.A maximum output power of 5.3 W is achieved at a pump power of 26 W,corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 20%and a slope efficiency of 21%.The Raman threshold for the diode pump power was only 0.92 W.The results reveal that in-band pumping by a wavelength-locked diode laser significantly enhances output power and efficiency of self-Raman lasers by virtue of improved pump absorption and relieved thermal loading.  相似文献

We investigate the optical bistability and multistability behaviors in a closed three-level A-type atomic system. By adding a sideband on either hand of the transitions which are originally coupled by a coherent control field and a coherent probe field to disturb the two-photon resonance, bistability occurs due to two-channel interference. Increasing the sideband Rabi frequency leads to the switching from bistability to tristability. When the sideband simultaneously couples with both hands, we can easily obtain quadrastability.  相似文献

<正>We demonstrate that a finite number of nano-slits can realize beam splitting and focusing of light by coating the metallic film surfaces with nonlinear Kerr medium.The numerical simulation shows that the beam splitting and focusing can be controlled by the incident light intensity.The splitting angle is quasiperiodically modulated by the incident light intensity,and the focusing length of forward propagating transmitted light decreases as the incident light intensity increases.These effects are explained by the surface plasmon polariton Bloch modes and self-focusing theory.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation is carried out into the cross phase modulation (XPM) in an asymmetric double A1GaAs/GaAs quantum wells structure with a common continuum. It is found that, combining resonant tunneling-induced transparency and constructive interference in the third-order Kerr effect, a giant XPM can be achieved with vanishing linear and nonlinear absorptions, accompanied by the velocities of the probe and signal fields being matched. Furthermore, this giant XPM could induce a π-phase shift at a single-photon level which is favorable for the applications in two-qubit quantum logic gates.  相似文献

针对啁啾脉冲放大技术建成的钛宝石激光装置,提出一种获得高重复率激光脉冲列的方法.通过改变钛宝石再生放大器中泡克耳斯盒电光开关的传统工作模式,使得腔内放大的脉冲从某特定时刻起,每当在腔内往返一次就以一定的倒出比例(倒出率)倒出腔内脉冲能量的一部分,从而可以在有限的时间段内产生高重复率的啁啾激光脉冲列.基于Franz-Nodvik放大理论,建立了该高重复率再生放大器的理论模型,通过数值计算,系统地分析了初始增益、倒出时刻、倒出率对输出的脉冲序列的影响.在抽运功率为35mJ、倒出率为1/2的实验条件下,通过腔外的脉冲数量选择器,在一个抽运周期内的有限时间段内已获得了14个幅度相近、单脉冲能量约为0.02mJ、重复率为100MHz的啁啾脉冲序列.从此啁啾脉冲列中选取数个脉冲,通过10TW级的激光系统放大和压缩,已获得100MHz重复率的飞秒太瓦级脉冲列. 关键词: 高重复率 多通放大 啁啾脉冲放大 钛宝石激光器  相似文献

Trichromatic manipulation of Kerr nonlinearity in a three-level ∧ atomic configuration is investigated theoretically. It is Shown that for a weak monochromatic probe field, the enhanced Kerr nonlinearity can be achieved in multiple separate transparent windows due to interference effect of multiple two-photon Raman channels. Furthermore, the property of Kerr nonlinearity can be controlled by the sum of the relative phases of the sideband components of the trichromatic pump field compared to the central component.  相似文献
